Time import format problem

Greetings All,
I am attempting to import a tab delimited file that has time in a 24 hour format. When I import the file the times are automatically converted to an AM / PM format. How do I stop this?

I visited apple store again. This time they said they could fix, if I will allow them to format the harddrive. I said ok. They formatted it. It was working fine for few daysAfter few days compter is taking.even more than 15 min to shutdown. Now computer has another problem. It is being hang frequently like every 20'to.30 min.
I don't know what to do? I still have one month left on first year warranty. I have requested couple times to apple associates either to fix or replace or refund. They are showing me rude behavior. They are not understanding my situation. I am a student. I need to do lot of home work. Since last three month my mac book and apple associates giving me hard time. Any suggestions are welcome.

Contact Apple Customer Care - not Apple Care - Customer Support. Have your receipts handy and/or case numbers. Be patient, be calm, and tell your story just as you have here. I get the sense you are not in the US and don't have access to an Apple Store but are going to an independent shop. This makes using Customer Support all the more important. If phoning isn't viable, use registered mail.
Since time is running short, be prepared to purchase AppleCare to exennd your warranty 2 more years. Yes, you shouldn't have to do this, but it gives you added protection and more opportunities over the next 2 years to claim a replacement computer if you don't get one immediately. After dealing with a similar unhappy situation with a Mac in the late 1990s I finally got a replacement computer and reimbursed for the AppleCare policy.

You formatted your computer's hard drive? If so, it's like starting with a new computer unless you restored all of your content from a backup but it does;t sound like that's the case.

You can use DATE Data Type To store time.

You can use HH12:MI AM as format mask. Don't forget to give the Data Type as DateTime In Form.

I didn't quite understand what you meant. As i understand, the data is stored in 1 database field.

Framemaker 10 crashing when trying to import formats

I have been having trouble with Framemaker 10 (most recent version 10.0.2.419) crashing when I try to import formats from one .fm file to another, or more often a group of other files.
I am using Windows 7 64-bit for an OS. The documents are all unstructured. The files are small (less than 10 pages in general), no extensive formating or graphics. If I am importing to a group of files in a book, its 6 or fewer files. I have something like 13 crash reports over the last month, so its not a seldom occurance.
At least a few of the crash reports have also mentioned errors 6382424, and 6383085.
That is all the information I can think of.
Is there someplace I can look up the erorr numbers that are getting reported to me when Frame crashes? I would do self-diagnosing and attempt fixes, but I am having a very difficult time finding information to allow that.
Any help is appreciated.

Too bad about those error codes. I guess I can only use them to determine if I have the same problem over and over or brand new problems.
The files are nearly all unqiue text, and if not it was importated without formatting (edit > paste special > unformatted text) or washed through a pure text app like Windows notepad.
Since you mentioned it, I've see the MIF-wash suggestion. I'll give it a try.

There's hardware and software.
Your drive could physically be in good condition but something has caused the file structure to be messed up (it just happens sometimes). The directory that keep track of files is corrupt. Disk Utility can help determine if that is the issue. In some cases it can repair the problem but it cannot do it to a drive that is being used to boot the system while you are doing that. You have to boot from another drive. Some things DU cannot repair and you need to try a stronger utility such as Diskwarrior.
A failing hard drive (one with mechanical issues) can be a cause of file structure issues but this is by no means always the case. Apart from looking at the SMART diagnosis feature of Disk Utility (and smart isn't totally reliable) there often isn't a way to tell if a drive is failing until it suddenly happens, which is why you need to maintain backups.
In your situation it does sound serious and not just minor directory corruption. You can try erasing (formatting) the drive, You may need to do this if it is really corrupt, in which case there could be underlying physical issues. I use old technology but if you have the patience you can try erasing the drive with the security option of writing zeros once (don't do more unless you are going on a 3 week vacation). This makes the drive not simply assume everything is okay by forcing it try every part of the drive by writing data. If something is gong wrong you may find it marks a lot of bad sectors, or flat out refuses to format. Then you know you need a new drive.

New LUN Takes A long Time To Format and Errors Out

I have a Hyper-V Cluster composed of 4 nodes and these nodes are able to access multiple CSVs (14 in total). I recently requested a new LUN (LUN 15)to be provisioned
to my Hyper-V cluster in the size of 500GB. Here is my problem:<o:p></o:p>
1. Formatting of a 500GB LUN (with quick format selected) should not take more than a few seconds. Instead, the quick format takes about 2hrs if not longer. I have actually
seen it go for half the day.<o:p></o:p>
2. Once the formatting has completed (no errors), taking the formatted LUN offline freezes the Computer Management screen and shows the status (Not Responding). This
will take place for 30 minutes or less and show that the LUN has been taken offline.<o:p></o:p>
3. In the Failover Cluster Manager, detecting the disks takes about 15 minutes. Once the available LUNs have been detected I can add the 500GB LUN to the Disks screen
without any problems.<o:p></o:p>
4. While in the Disks screen, adding the LUN to the Clustered Shared Volumes takes about 5 minutes (too long).<o:p></o:p>
Already seeing that there is a problem, I went ahead and used the Hyper-V Manager to create a 200GB vhd on the new LUN which has been added to the CSV. The bar indicating
the progress of the vhd creation does not display any progress (no green progress bar appears, not even a tiny bit of it) and after 3 hours (more or less) I receive an error, stating that the creation of the vhd failed.
<o:p>NOTE: The vhd shows up in Volume 9 (LUN 15) but I can only bet that it will not work, plus I would not want to work with a vhd file which failed during the
creation process.</o:p>
<o:p>Long story short, I repeated the above steps to see if that was a temporary problem, but it is not. The same problem occurs no matter which Hyper-V cluster
node the operations are performed on. I would like to add, that I tested the creation of a vhd on an already configured LUN and the creation was completed successfully, and within a n expected time frame.</o:p>
NOTE: When LUN 15 errors out, it's status shows "Failed" in the Failover Cluster Manager. This in turn, causes the re-scanning of available disks to take forever (in Computer Management) and it keeps searching. Pretty
much, the fail of one LUN affects the entire functionality of the entire Hyper-V Cluster.
Errors Listed In Event Details For LUN 15:
1. Cluster Shared Volume 'Volume9' ('Cluster Disk 5') is no longer accessible from this cluster node because of error 'ERROR_TIMEOUT(1460)'. Please troubleshoot this node's connectivity to the storage device and

Proper Video Import Format

Currently - I am importing some home movies from VHS using a canopus into iMovie. I have chosen the import format = DV STREAM ...
- I will import the movie - do some editing - and then export it to iDVD5...
- then I modify the template settings and then save as a disk image...
- basically - it has to render all the video - I am guessing to compress into DVD format... this takes a long time
* Question: Since my only concern is to create a DVD ONLY - of this content ( and not to ever save the high-quality dv stream) - would it save me any time to import into iMovie as MPG4 or any other format that is closer to a DVD quality rather then to import as a DV stream? The rendering time in iDVD is where I am trying to save time ... and I am guessing that if it was in the correct format to begin with ... then maybe it would not have to re-render...?
Any time saving suggestions would be appreciated...

The answer to your question is NO. Stay with DV stream.
Creating DVDs requires patience (a virtue, right?) and lots of free hard disk space.

My scenerio iam posting IDOC to a flat file with content conversion in the receiver side,the mapping got executed successfully and in the audit log i found that the error was after the 'Start converting XML document content to plain text'.
This means that error occured during content conversion of XML to the prescribed file format.
Can anyone suggest any better approach using which we may trace the junk data in IDoc. Manual adhoc approach could take time and is error prone.

Thanks for the early reply. I checked the mapping and everything is fine and the output is also in valid XML format.
The audit log shows that the mapping got executed successfully and the error is after the step 'Start converting XML document content to plain text '. Is there any constraint in the file adapter regarding the message size for parsing.

Error when add seconds to Time Stamp format

Hi,
I've created a subVI that transform an string data/time to Time stamp format.
The subVI seems that it works fine, but when I use the data 26/10/2014 and I add 1 day, it crashes! The result is 26/10/2014 23:00:00 instead of 27/10/2014 00:00:00.

Skip a member in import format

Hi All,
I'm creating an import format for a location to load a csv file.
In that I need to skip an entity(actually 20+ entities) related data while importing.
But "SKIP" is not working here.
FIELD NAME FIELD NUMBER NUMBER OF FIELDS EXPRESSION
Skip 3 4 2219
Above combination is not working while import. All record with 2219 got loaded and failing at validation.
Is "SKIP" mentioned for the same purpose?
Is there any possiblity to skip a particular combination member as well using SKIP? (EX:- abcdxx1234, ijklxx5678 - member contains xx should be skipped)
Target is Planning Application, Adapter ES 11x-G4-H
Facing one more issue.
This is first time i'm using essbase adapter.
When I try to import map, import completed successful from excel. But no map got updated.
Map not getting updated even with a single member.

Those entities should be skipped as long as the value 2219 is found in Field3 so it must not be matching 2219 against any values in that field. Are you sure there are no whitespace characters in the source field? Another option would be to map the Entity 2219 (and other entities you are not interested in to a target of IGNORE in youe Entity mapping. You can Skip based on a particular combination but this would require an import script to define the more complex criteria and execute the skip.
In terms of your mapping import issue are you sure that the Location ID specified in your Excel mapping template actually corresponds to the Location ypou are trying to import the maps to?

"Skip" in Import Format not skipping some rows

We are currently using FDM 11.1.1.1.00 and we have a problem with skipping lines based on currency (which is our AccountDescription).
We first extract 28392 lines from Oracle EBS (27921 CAD and 471 USD). No mather what we put in the skip condition, the generated .dat contains exactly the same data (file compared with UltraEdit).
If we set our import format to skip USD lines, 11 of them are still imported. It's the same behavior if we set the import format to skip CAD lines (1136 of them are still imported).
For example this line still load

while this one don't

I looked at some of the lines still loaded in hexadecimal to find any invisble character or differences in codes used to display characters but they are the same as lines that are skipped.
Three persons has been searching for pattern in data that could lead us to the problem without success.
Any ideas on why thoses lines are still imported ? Where should I look at ?
This may be easy to solve, but I'm new at this stuff (I actually had to learn FDM by myself as all technical administrators knowing it left the company).

Thanks for your help. It works fine with the script. Now it return only the rows I need.
I only inverted the condition so if it's CAD, the function return the value, else it skip the line (to exclude USD, EUR or any other currency it may encounter in the future).

Import format error when importing journals

Hi All,
In an attempt to save our users time at month-end, for recurring journals our previous admin loaded a template to a "Recurring" journal location for each future month. That admin is gone, and now I am trying to do the same, with the following result:
"Error: An error occurred importing the file.
Detail: Location: [JE_Recurring] has not been assigned an Import Format"
We do not use import formats for our journals, so I don't know why it won't let me import the journal. I am an admin in FDM, and I even tried adding that location to myself in security.

I was trying to do it via the workspace import option since that is how our users post journals. I tried using the Activities / Journal option and it worked. Thank you!

Import Format script required to update multiple fields

Further to my previous post yesterday (Import Format script required to work across multiple fields I now need my import script to update multiple (two) fields at the same time, based on criteria set across multiple fields. So far, I can use DW.Utilities.fParseString to assess the values across multiple fields, but I now need to update not only the field in question, but also an additional field at the same time. For example:

All the logic you require can be encapsulated in the import script for the second field. You don't need to reference the second field in the first import script.

Time / Date format in series section of a graph

Hello,
I am trying to use some data imported from excel in a graph, but when I set the series of the graph to a field that contains time data (hh:mm), it does not convert it properly.
Is there a way to represent this time data on the y axis of the graph correctly.

There is something the team might want to check out. Time formatted excel imports are not displaying well.
To simulate the issue
create small table in Excel with column formatted as "time"
Import and see the displayed value in the data source view. It's far from correct displayed time
The only way you can do something about it is to set the drop down of the column to text and use Timevalue and text to transform to correct time.
If you just display time in excel as "general" same issue occurs with the import.
