Time in graph

Hi,
I have a keyfigures which is type Time (HH:MM:SS) in char6
When i display it in my table it looks like 07:15:34.
But when i display it in a graph it is displayed concatenated with todays date.
Like today it would look like 20070730071534. This makes the axis totally unreadable.
Does anyone know how to get it to display the correct time in the graph.
I'm on 3.1
Thanks

Hi Archna,
The format of the graph only makes it possible to change Lines and Colors.

  • Regarding Time Series Graph in OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
I need to create a time-series graph in OBIEE 11g. However, the value for time on the x-axis of the graph automatically comes for days.
Is there any way to change it to hours or minutes?
    Thanks,

Yes, it shud be a prob. Try using seperate tables for fact n timedim

  • How do I add moving averages to my time series graph is there a function on numbers on tr iMac?

I've created a time series graph on numbers on my iMac but I need to add moving averages. Is there a function an if so where is it and if not is there a way to get around it

    Badunit,
Here is an example plot, data sorted from most recent data at top of the table...
You can see the moving average (of 20) is plotted from right to left.
The Moving Average calculation is now wrong, and should have been calculated and presented from oldest to most recent.
Here is the same data, with table sorted from oldest data at the top of the table.
The moving average is also plotted from right to left, and shows the correct Moving Average for the most recent data.
That is, it is calculated from oldest to most recent, with the last Moving Average data point plotted on "todays" date.
What I want to see is my table displayed from most recent at the top (the top table), and moving average calculated and displayed as per the bottom graph.
Edit: So, think about this some more,
I need an option to tell Numbers to do the Moving Average calculation from the bottom of the table up, not from the top of the table down.

  • Time Series Graph Show Inappropriate Data for Continuous Analysis

    Hi All,
I have marked Month as the Chronological Key in my BMM Layer but still I am unable to view the data correctly in my Time Series graph because it shows Inappropriate Data for Continuous Analysis at the time of creating the Graph. Can anybody help me out with the same.
    Thanks

What data type is your key? The chronological key is required for the time series formulas (ago etc.).
The time series chart requires a date or datetime data type to work - perhaps a new column with the first of the month/period would help? Regards,

  • 3D real time voltage graph

Hi I'm a beginner at Labview.
I'd like to plot a real time contour graph from voltage readings from 4 diodes which is obtained via the DAQ. The x-y coordinates are the coordinates of the locations of the diodes while the z coordinate is the (current) voltage measurement of each diode.
I've already splitted up my location coordinates into x-vector and y-vector. I've tried to wire my latest readings values into the z matrix, however I received an error about the different data types.
Any idea how can I plot a 3D real time contour graph?
Ps. With the exception of the 3D graph, everything else works prefectly.

  • Creating a time tracking graph in Numbers

I need to make a chart of an employee's time into work.  I tried inputting time format but didn't graph/chart it.
How do I do this AND show the expected arrival time (they've been coming in late).
    Thanks

    Here's one possibility:
Columns C and D extract the TIMEVALUE of the Date and Time value in column B, placing the value in column C if the employee has arrived prior to or at the time shown in C1 or in column D if the arrival time is later than the time in C1.
    Formulas:
    C2, filled down: =IFERROR(IF(TIMEVALUE(B)>TIMEVALUE($C$1),0,TIMEVALUE(B)),"")
    D2, filled down: =IFERROR(IF(TIMEVALUE(B)>TIMEVALUE($C$1),TIMEVALUE(B),0),"")
The IFERROR envelope is used to produce the 'empty' cells where no time has been entered in column B.
The chart is a Stacked Bar Chart. Upper and lower limits for the Y axis were set using values calculated for the arrival times entered for January 9 (10:00 AM, 60 minutes late) and January 10 (8:30 AM, 30 minutes early).
The number of steps was set to 6 to give horizontal grid lines at 15 minute intervals.
Labels on the Y axis are in a Text box, and mark 15 minute intervals. Adjust line spacing to match these to the grid lines.
The line at OT (on time) has been added as a shape, pasted to the document and moved into the correct location.

  • Erroneous time in graphs in output cluster

I have an application that reads a binary file and then displays, analyzes and presents the data in charts and indicators. The 'main' application is "06_ATP_Read and Analyze SubVIs.vi" with the "04_ATP_Read.vi" and "05_ATP_Analyze & Present Data.vi" subvis.
The application with the problem is called "05_ATP_Analyze & Present Data.vi" and it is in the attached file. It was built on the LabView Basics II example.
Everything works fine except in the graphs from the output cluster the time values are 5000 times bigger than the real ones displayed or selected in data graphs at the left of the cluster. The 5000 times value is exactly the sampling rate I am using (5kHz) but I am not sure if this is related because I am not sure where is the problem coming for. My feeling is that the feedback node is causing the problem but, again, I'm not sure.
What could I do to make things right? Any suggestions/examples anybody?
    Thank you.

    Thank you Travs,
I think I got the idea but how would I implement this in my vi? I tried a couple of connections and the attached file presents some of them. Look in 05_ATP_Analyze & Present Data.vi, in case structure 0.
Another problem is that the sampling rate might vary from file to file and I will not know it before opening the file. I need some kind of automatic reading of sampling rate rather than manual insertion.
This vi is very similar to the exercise from LabView Basics II and there I did not have to put any additional 'build waveform' components to make it work; probably because there was a chart and not graphs, I don't remember right now... Any way, the idea with the cluster is that it helps me to easily save processed data in one file. I'd like to stay with this solution only if there is nothing better that you or somebody else can suggest.
Could you show me how would I implement the 'build waveform' in my vi?

  • Time proportional graph

I've probably missed a preference box somewhere but this problem has been bugging me, especially as Excel resolves it automatically. This single problem is stopping me from using Numbers as my only spreadsheet.
I can't get Numbers to produce a graph proportional to the varied dates that I take the measurements. Here's a simple example:
Imagine you have a tree that grows at 1cm a day
You measure it on the first day of every month.
In June you decide to measure it once a week but revert to once a month when you discover it is still growing 1cm a day.
If you now plot a graph with all your measurements (weekly and monthly) for the year, excel will give you a nice straight line because it automatically takes into account the variation in the measuring dates.
How do I get Numbers to understand this and stop giving me graphs with uneven and misrepresentative steps in it?
I have put an image of the two graphs here:
    http://www.tickle.it/CARGO/Tree.jpg
    Thanks for any help received

If there is no way of correcting this, any line graph showing a value over time is inaccurate because months have different lengths. If Numbers is incapable of making that simple distinction it would only be a toy for me to occasionally pretty up proper excel spreadsheets.

    I wrote:
It's an odd one because we can't insert intermediate value to 'normalize' the steps.
I thought that it was clear enough. Numbers is unable to achieve what you ask for.
This is why I urged you to send a feedback to the Numbers team. Writing that it is a toy (why is just your advice, no less no more) in the forum is perfectly useless because it will not be read by an Apple engineer.

  • Real time waveform graph in while loop

    Hi
I have a VI which includes a subVI that reads data from an oscilloscope and presents the output in the form of a cluster made up of the initial time t(0), a time interval delta t and an array of voltage readings.
This cluster can then be wired to a waveform graph in the usual way. All of this is situated within a while loop in my VI and on each iteration of the loop I obtain a waveform graph of the voltage readings starting at the same time t(0) and ending at the same time t. However I want my graph to begin at a time t(0) when I set my VI running and then continuously acquire and build up the data on each iteration of the while loop so after my VI has finished executing I have a complete graph of all the voltage readings acquired after the set number of iterations of the loop. I know on the Express X-Y Graph VI you can double-click the node and deselect the box that says 'clear data on each call' - if I could do this in my case that would be great but I can't use an x-y graph because I have an array of y-values to plot on each iteration.
If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated - I'm sure there must be an easy solution to this but I'm going out of my mind trying to find out what it is!
    Many thanks,
    Bex.

As usual, you have several options.
You can use an XY Graph by generating the X values yourself. This will ensure that you place the data exactly where you want it on the X axis. This is fast, but does involve a memory cost.
You can use a Waveform Graph with a waveform input instead of the cluster you are using. Use the Build Waveform primitive instead of the bundler to make your waveform. Set the t0 values to the appropriate values (negatives do work, as do small numbers - time is in seconds, use the To Time Stamp primitive to convert from DBL to timestamp). Finally, you need to set the Waveform Graph to use the t0 values. Pop up on the Waveform Graph and make sure Ignore Time Stamp is not checked. Depending on your version of LabVIEW, you may have to pop up on the graph or the axis. When you unselect Ignore Time Stamp, you will probably want to reformat the X-axis again. The Waveform Graph clears data at each iteration, so you will need to replot all your data each time. Just create an array of waveforms and keep adding to it. The t0s will put the waveforms in the right places. Yes, this may cause memory problems.
Finally, you can use the Waveform Chart, which does have memory. Create the waveforms like you did for the Waveform Graph and send them to the chart. It will remember what was sent to it from run to run. Make sure you set the Chart History Length (pop up on chart and select Chart History Length...) to long enough to hold your entire data. You can use a property node to get the data back at the end, if you need to.
    Good luck!

  • System time in graph

    Hi,
I would like to have computer's system time in X-axis.
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks,
    Seb

    Hi Seb,
In fact, you forgot the use of the "shift register" which will memorize the values for the graph.
In your example, the X and Y arrays are reinitialized at each loop iteration. To avoid this, put a "shift register" on the loop.
Here is my previous pic with the "shift register" marked.
To put a "shift register" on a loop, right-click on this loop and select the "Add shift register" option.

  • Reeal-time 3D graph with multiple plots

    Hello,
I realise this is a very complicated question and I would appreciate any healp anyone could give. I am trying to:
1- draw a 3D graph with three plots (plots are from coordinates read from XL)
2- do it in real time, so that only one point from each plot shows at a time (the previous points disappear)
Can anyone help me out? I looked at Sarah's advice and I got as far as the program that I have attached. I have also attached an XL sheet with random values (actually I didn't have any luck attaching two files).
    I would appreciate any response!

    Issues:
Why do the axis all change and why aren't the points drawn all at once? ALso, is it possible to retain in memory and plot more than one point from each plot at once?
The axis are changing because you didn't ask for constant scales. Just right-click on the 3D graph indicator and go to CWGraph3D/Properties... There a pop-up window will give you access to a number of settings. Explore. You will find how to allow the user to pan/zoom/rotate the graph, and to disable autoscaling...
The points are not drawn all at once because you pass them one at a time!!! To plot several points at once, you have to build an array with the proper number of points (initialise first) then you can rotate the array after plotting, and replace the first point at the next iteration.

  • Time remaping graph workaround.

IN FCP6.0.6 the manual states that when using variable speed time remaping that the motion graph displayed under a clip in the timeline uses the Y axis to show the number of frames your clip has regardless of the in and out markers in the clip.
What this means in practice is if you have a 10 minute piece of video and only use say 10 seconds on the timeline the Y axis represent all 10 minutes of the frames so when trying to adjust the speed the graph only uses a few pixels to represent the 10 second clip and so makes it very hard to adjust.
Is there any way around this?

Thanks Tom, making a reference video worked but subclip had the same problem!
Looks like an option needs to be added to the variable speed feature to only sample from the in and out points.

  • Time Scale Graph questions

Hi, I am VERY new to Labview.  I am using Labview 7.0  with a PCI 6220 card.  I have a VERY simple VI that plots input voltage [+/- 10V] with respect to time. Currently the graph plots continuosly each time a measurement is taken [Tmax - Tmin = ~1ms].  I want to graph to instead plot a continuous graph with a curve that starts at Tmin = 0, and ends at Tmax=1min, giving me a complete curve.
Your help would be very much appreciated!!!
