TIME IN SAP
Hi all,
I would be thankful if someone helps me out regarding this issue.
Iam testing the SAP messages in the tc sxmb_moni. I need to caluculate the proper time difference between the messages where i found that the time on my desktop and the message executing times are different. Can anyone suggest me how to change the time in SAP.Is it possible in XI??
Regards ,
Kumar.
Hi Kumar
The time will be different because it depends on the time zone you have set in your XI box. Say if you are in India then the desktop time might have been set as per IST. Now log onto to your XI box, in the Menu go to System --> Status and check the Time Zone there. If it is the same as per your desktop, both will be same else it will be different. If you want to change it i guess you will have to get your BASIS folks to do it.
cheers

High RFC response time in SAP BW system
Hello all,
How to analyze and fine tune high RFC response time in SAP BW system ?
Regards,
ArchanaHi
Kindly Check follows
1. Check the RFC connections are correctly Configured or not? You can execute the program “RSRFCTRC” and get a full log of the RFC connections details
2 you can check the BW queries are right optimized? Is this any network issues?
3. In which time are you facing the high rfc response? (During the 24 hours which time)?
4. Kindly refer the SCN & SAP Notes for overall system performance

Hi
We wanted to change the system time in SAP and we have already posted certain documents.
Pls let me know, if we change the time.
Will there be any impact on the posted documents
Regards
Madhan DHi,
Changing system time would ideally can have impact on transactional documents created.
You need to ensure that there are no post dated open documents as it may clash with change in time.
Eventuall changing the time post 12 mid night would be a good option.
Hope this helps.

The start time for SAP service
Experts:
Sometimes I need to know the start time for SAP service at
the NT service panel.
However either the service panel or the event viewer does
not give the service start time.
Is there a file to check above info?
Thanks!Hi Jenna,
Windows Event Viewer will give you details on how long the service has been running since its startup.
A simple mathematical subraction can give you when the service was started.
Hope this is useful.

What is run time in SAP XI?
hi friends
what is run time in SAP XI?Hi Kumar,
SAP Exchange Infrastructureruntime consists of a series of components:
· The Integration Engine executes the integration logic of the Integration Server and converts messaging (of the Integration Server or application systems).
· The proxy runtime uses proxies to exchange messages with the Integration Server. This section addresses the programming model for ABAP and Java proxies.
· The Adapter Engine uses the RFC adapter and external adapters to exchange messages with the Integration Server.
· The respective adapters are either connected using the Adapter Engine or run independently (for instance, the IDoc adapter and the plain HTTP adapter).
· Central monitoring monitors XI runtime components, the message flow, and the performance.

How-To allow records with Overlapping Time from SAP R/3
Hi guys,
Made reference to SAP Note 336229.
Maintained my Transfer Rules of <b>Data Source 0HR_PA_PA_1</b> to <b>Info Source 0HR_PA_PA_1</b> and all is green! Unfortunately, still <b>NO</b> data and error IDOC message is " <i>The data request was a full update. In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not contain any data</i>."
"<i>The extractor of the DataSource reads the master data tables of the Employee (0EMPLOYEE) and person (0PERSON) InfoObjects and makes changes to these time-dependent attributes available as headcount changes</i>"...<b>says SAP</b>
Info Object person (0PERSON) works!!!, however Info Object(0EMPLOYEE) is giving me problem whereby <b>in SAP R/3</b> Data Source (Employee - Education and Training) 0EMPLOYEE_0022_ATTR <u>allows</u> time overlapping of records, <b>BUT BW</b> generates an error " The time interval ['99991231'/'19930104'] & (from/to) for the data records 46 and 47 overlaps in characteristic 0EMPLOYEE "
For example, lets assume there is Employee X with the following entry in SAP R/3.
Begin Date||| End Date ||| SubType
01.09.2003||| 01.09.2004||| Professional Cert.
01.09.2003||| 01.09.2006||| Degree
SAP R/3 allows this overlapping of time records however, BW does NOT. How can I tackle this overlapping issue in SAP BW?
With much appreciation!Hi guys,
Please assist to resolve this.
I attempted to assigned 0DATETO and 0DATEFROM to my attributes of 0EMPLOYEE, but it gives me the following error
<b> Characteristic 0EMPLOYEE: Attribute 0DATETO cannot be used w. time-dependent attribte</b>
<b> InfoObject 0DATETO cannot be used as an attribute if attibutes already exist that are time-dependent. Attribute 0ANSALARY is such an attribute. A field in the InfoObject 0DATETO is automatically generated in the master data table.</b>
Once again, what I want is to be able to allow the Records with HighDate in R/3 into my BW Cubes.
Please please assist ! -
Delete Index in Process Chain Takes long time after SAP BI 7.0 SP 27
After upgrading to SAP BI 7.0 SP 27 Delete index Process & Create index process in Process chain takes long time.
For example : Delete index for 0SD_C03 takes around 55 minutes.
Before SP upgrade it takes around 2 minutes to delete index from 0SD_C03.
Regards
Madhu P MenonHi,
Normally index creation or deletion can take long time in case your database statistics are not updated properly, so can check stat after your data loading is completed and index generation is done, Do creation of database statistics.
Then try to recheck ...

Table Creation taking a lot of time in SAP 2007...
I have an SAP Addon which is created in SAP2005...Right now i changed the code to SAP 2007...But the Problem i am facing is, it takes a lot of time to created the usertabels thorugh SAP 2007 code...Around 5 minutes it takes....But i created the usertables through SAP 2005 less than 2 minutes....I ahve to create 18 usertables thorugh this code....
can anyone help me to solve this issue.. as well as i want to know whether any change is there in codes in SAP 2005 or SAP 2007.for creating Usertables....
My Code:
Private Sub AddUserTable(ByVal Name As String, ByVal Description As String, ByVal Type As SAPbobsCOM.BoUTBTableType)
Try
oUserTablesMD = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserTables)
If oUserTablesMD.GetByKey(Name) = False Then
oUserTablesMD.TableName = Name
oUserTablesMD.TableDescription = Description
oUserTablesMD.TableType = Type
lRetCode = oUserTablesMD.Add
If lRetCode 0 Then
'oCompany.GetLastError(lRetCode, sErrMsg)
'MsgBox(sErrMsg)
End If
End If
Catch ex As Exception
'pEve_Application.StatusBar.SetText(ex.Message, SAPbouiCOM.BoMessageTime.bmt_Short, SAPbouiCOM.BoStatusBarMessageType.smt_Error)
Finally
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oUserTablesMD)
End Try
End Sub
Waiting for Positive Reply...
Thanks
HariHi hari,
I suggest you create you user tables, fields, keys, permissions through XML.
Here's a sample:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
<BOM>
<BO>
<AdmInfo>
<Object>153</Object>
</AdmInfo>
<OUTB>
<row>
<TableName>TABLE_ID</TableName>
<Descr>TABLE_DESCRIPTION</Descr>
<ObjectType>1</ObjectType>
</row>
</OUTB>
</BO>
<BO>
<AdmInfo>
<Object>152</Object>
</AdmInfo>
<CUFD>
<row>
<TableID>@TABLE_ID</TableID>
<AliasID>FIELD_NAME</AliasID>
<Descr>FIELD_DESCRIPTION</Descr>
<TypeID>A</TypeID>
<EditType></EditType>
<Dflt></Dflt>
<EditSize>100</EditSize>
</row>
</CUFD>
<UFD1>
</UFD1>
</BO>
</BOM>
If you have already created the fields before (through code or through B1 UI), you can query the OUTB, CUFD and UFD1 tables to check what values you need to put in the XML file.
You can use the following function to process a single XML file with the definition of tables, fields, keys and permissions.
Public Function LoadBDFromXML(ByRef oCompany As SAPbobsCOM.Company, ByRef oApplication As SAPbouiCOM.Application, _
ByRef Directory As String, ByRef FileName As String) As Boolean

Same Program ID registered two times at SAP gateway
Hi Experts,
I Developed RFC to File scenario. In the sender rfc adapter i provided program id PID_SAP_ID. I used this program id in TCP/IP rfc destination.of r/3 system. I am running one report ZPM_SCHEDULE_OUTBOUND in r/3 to send data to XI. The problem is that, there are two instance of program id PID_SAP_ID registered in sap gateway because of this some times when I run the ZPM_SCHEDULE_OUTBOUND program, nothing is being passed to XI. What could possibly cause two instances of PID_SAP_ID program to run?
If anybody knows solution please let me know.
Thanks,
VenkyHi Jakub Turminski ,
I am using that program id in one communication channel.

Difference in SAP Time Zone - Time in SAP System
Hi,
I am facing a problem in the SAP system time zone settings.
In my ECC and BI systems the System Time Zone and the User Time Zone is maintained as INDIA. When I check the system status using System -> Status -> Usage Data, I find the below mentioned details.
Previous logon 10/26/2009 11:20:41
Logon 11:43:25
System time 12:48:13
Time zone INDIA 23:18:13
The problem is the time shown after the Time Zone INDIA - "23:18:13", where the time should be "12:48:13". The mentioned time in the field should be the same as the system time. At the OS level I find the date and time of the system to be correct. We are running on
date
Mon Oct 26 12:52:21 CDT 2009
I have tried re-setting the timezones to CET and restarting the machine, but still the TimeZone Time does not change.
Because of this I face issues in functional transactions where the after the 24th hour in a day, the date increments and users wrongly choose the entries in the From date field in many transactions.
Please share a solution for the same.
Thank you
Regards,
VineethVineeth,
When you use System > Status in SAP, it lists the system time zone - which in your case would be 12:48 and be CDT. This appears to be correct and it matches your OS time. The time mentioned underneath "system time" is the time zone assigned to your SAP user ID in SU01. This should not be relevant to any data, but if you wish to change it you should be able to via SU01.
You said "The problem is the time shown after the Time Zone INDIA - "23:18:13", where the time should be "12:48:13" "
Most likely "India time" is specified in your SU01 profile. This is normal to have a local time for this; and its probably not related to your issue. The system time is what is important.
Hope this helps,

Change system time in SAP.
Dear Expertise,
Our system time SAP is behind from system time in our Active Directory about 30 minutes. Can our SAP system time be accelerated so our SAP system time is same with system time in AD?
what should we note?
Our OS is HP-UX 11.31, SAP R/3 4.7 and Oracle 10g.
Thanks in advance,
RosOur system time SAP is behind from system time in our Active Directory about 30 minutes
Why ? Do you have a system in different time zones? If system's are in one time zone and network you must always
synchronize time in your network for all server's and PC's ...
Now you need to check the time on server are +30min from AD or -30 ? In any case before you do some ntpdate
in your situation you need stop SAP and database application, after do it.
In the future you need to set up automatic synchronization. Regards. -

Oracle Time Zone - SAP Note 1019133
Has anyone applied this patch or skipped the patch?
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
In 2007 the USAs daylight savings starts earlier and ends later, so Oracles table of time zone rules should be changed for America.
The SAP note 1019133 said we probably do not need a patch.
The Oracle Note 396671.1 said, apply it just in case.
SAP Note: 1019133
" In the standard SAP application the JVM and the mentioned datatypes (TSLTZ / TSTZ) are not used. Therefore it's not necessary to apply this patches."
Oracle Doc: 396671.1
"If there is no other use of time zone data than stored TSTZ data, and the utltzuv2.sql script shows that none of these use the affected time zones, then you could choose to not apply the new time zone files (even though in such a situation the application would also be very easy, so the advise would still be to do it "just in case")."since the oracle notes had said it is the same patch for the DB and client, i just thought : in an SAP environment, how does a client connect.....
well, our SAP users use the SAP Login GUI thingy.... which gets them to the SAP instance of their choice, ..... and it's the SAP instance that is then actually the "client" for the oracle DB.....
so.... well, the SIDadm account must be indicative of how this client process works for SAP because SIDadm can start and stop the Oracle DB....
so i logged in as SIDadm and looked for the client that way.... i.e.... go to the $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/zoneinfo directory that SIDadm sees and what's there....
in my case it put me in same dir as the DB files.... so must be getting it from same spot.
cuz this was something i just made up as i went along and i was very tired at the time, i also ran a find command from the root directory..... i am on Sun.... my find command was :
find . -name timezone.dat -print
granted there were a lot of directories i did not have perms to see, but it returned only 2 timezone files for me....
the one in the $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/zoneinfo directory
and one in /local..... (which is what we have for some secondary things, not SAP related)....
so try a big system level find command if on Sun, or something similar on your O/S..... if you have your SAP and your DB on the same server.... it's got to be on that server somewhere....
hope that helps. -
Long Roll-Wait time in SAP (ST03N)
Hello !
On my SAP-PRD, just registering long roll-wait times since almost 6 weeks !! Network diagnostics are normal ! Can somebody give me any hints to the issue !
Thanks in adv.
