Depending on which soundcard you have there, but if your card is capable for
ASIO -> activate I/O drivers on Sonar/Options/Audio/Drivers -tab (mic/line sources should be listed there --> activate) and select the mic or/and Line sources on tracks "I" - dialog
WDM/KS -> use the Surround Mixer or windows recording controls for recording source selection (mic should be listed there)
MME32 - > same w/ WDM/KS
If you use Asio4All --> same w/ WDM/KS & MME32
No mic and line source simultaenously w/ WDM/KS and MME32.
You perhaps be able to do this w/ kX drivers.

You can also install modded version of Audigy 2 drivers/software but I have never done this w/ Li've! 5. so I can't be sure if you get ASIO support for your card.

Step Time input

I've got what looks like a nasty bug with step-time input using a MIDI keyboard.
Using any editor - say the Matrix editor - if I start to enter a stream of notes of a selected length, say a 1/16th, it will randomly enter a few of those notes with ridiculously big lengths - e.g. the length of the song. In other words, it looks a bit like the equivalent of 'stuck' MIDI notes (no Note Offs). It will do this every few notes I enter; all the rest of them are the correct length.
It makes it unusable because I have to keep stopping and deleting the notes that it's mis-entered.
This problem doesn't seem to apply using the Step Input window.
Does anyone else suffer from this?

But even if this was the case (a glitchy interface etc.) we still have the Logic step input mechanism in software deciding to enter a note of enormous length - so it's a software issue, even if the hardware were dodgy (which it isn't - real-time recording is all fine)
Think about it; what's coming in from the keyboard is just a MIDI message - whether it's a valid note on or not. Any conceivable glitch would just be an invalid or incorrectly-formed MIDI message, which the software should just handle by ignoring it. So I can't see this is the issue!
The step-input mechanism must base its note-length decision on the currently selected 'format' value (1/16th or whatever) so it strikes me that the bug (if it exists) must be originating somewhere around that lookup process.

Date and Time Input Validation

Anyone know a good way to validate date and time that a user is entering on the screen. Our users want to enter AM and PM time vs. Military time.
Also, since Input fields don't have an "onBlur" command, what are other companies using in java script.

What type of DATE/TIME validation are you looking for?
If you want to validate the format you could simply set the type to date/time and enable the dovalidate attribute to "TRUE".
for getting onBlur, onChange, etc for your input field you can use bsp:findandreplace.

Problem with time input field

Hi,
I have an input field which mapped to a context attribute of type Time. When I try to enter any value during runtime I have a small message in the bottom of my webpage ( Error during parse, please give a value in form 10:11:12 AM ). After that I should enter a good value otherwise I cannot do any other action.

that's the purpose of implicit validation based on the dictionary type definition.
By default the format of the built-in type 'time' is "<b>hh:mm:ss a</b>" but you can easily change this format by defining your own simple data type. Name this local dictionary type <i>MyTime</i>, select the built-in type 'time' and then specifiy its <i>format</i> (tab 'Representation') via "<b>hh:mm</b>". In this case the generic validation will accept '12:10' as input field value.

Trouble with Calendars inverting the times input

I am having a tremendous problem with inputting events and assigning the two reminders, like one the day before and one at the time of the event. After I input these after a cloud sync all of the times are backwards, 15 min before is first and 2 days before second and I end up not getting my 2 day before alert. I have completely wiped out my calendars on my iMac, iPad, and iPhone a couple of times and it still will not sync the right times. Right after I wiped everything out I input everything on my iMac and then before I synced I chose to replace the calendar option on each mobile device. After the sync I get the same issue. I only am using one calendar and have everything else unchecked. I am using one iCloud calendar on all of my devices, I have checked this many times.
*** am I doing that is causing this to happen. It's been going on for a year or so but I can't stand to change my calendar everyday just so I know what's coming and look in the weeks view to see any upcoming I need to know about. I'm about to go to Google Calendar and use a Google client app on my devices but they look limited and I'm not sure how they will act. I tried using the mobile version of Google Cal for a few days but hated it.
Any help out there? Any suggestions for another calendar that is more stable? I would rather use the iCal but I can't go on like this.

When you next have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Time input response

I have a Hydraulic solinoid valve energised by a digital output on my DAQ device (USB 6012) holding a pressure measured by a transducer which is read into an analog input channel. I have to measure and plot the time taken from denergising the solinoid valve for the pressure to reach 0 i.e 0v. the average time for this is 70mS, will a elapsed time vi be good enough for this or do I need to use something else. Any guidence will be most welcome.

Look in the
Help\Find Examples\Hardware Input and Output\DAQmx\Analog Measurements\Voltage and then pick for example the "Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Ext Clk-Dig Start.vi" as a starting point.
The measured voltage is your pressure sensor
The Dig start is you digital I/O that drives the valve
Modify what has to be modified, but use this one as a start...
PS: There's maybe a better one in the list but I didn't check them all

Modify 24hrs and AM/PM edition in Time Input Fields

I have a webdynpro aplication which uses time fields... but for some users it works with 24hrs format and sometimes with AM/PM format. How can I control that? Does it have something to do with an R/3 SAP user parameter?

Time issue

I have a JSP wherein the user enters time input in a field in hh:mm format.That goes to the backend database where time is stored as "
datetime" , validates it and sends back the response.So if the user enters 09:99, response comes back as 10:39. What i want is, as the
user enters invalid time like 09:99,an error message should be shown on the page.Any javascript i write is not working because it is still picking time from the backend.I have the time object with me.

            i have a input field in my view and i want that one to be in display mode ( the intention is that i want to have the value to be filled from F4 help values only). I have set the read only set for the input field. I have tried all the cases of normal ddic help;OVS;Freely input help; context node info value set but no luck.
In the below forum message Re: how to provide f4 help to the read only input field i could see the input from Thomas that the Freely input help will be useful in this case;I tired this way too but no luck.

After check your requirement, i think you can use "Freely programmed Input help".You can search them in this forum or google, i think you will get some clue.
As a reply, i summarize this topic simply. Take one example.
Scenario:
F4-help component will be used for "F4". It displays all the data in table, and you can select one record, then the F4-help will be closed and the "CARRID" will be returned to the Read-only field in your main component.

(1). You should implement one WD Component which implemented the WD interface "IWD_VALUE_HelP".
(2).In this component, you can add one "Interface event", for example, named "Select". And this event has one parameter "CARRID".

Waveform Chart - How to set X scale time.

I have a Waveform chart (v6.1) and I want it to display 30 seconds of data. What is the correlation between the Time History buffer and the Time inputed on the X-scale. The X-scale format is set to Relative Time. I set the initial time to 0:00. The input data is coming in at 20 samples/sec also. How do I set up the chart to show only 30 sec of data.

You can turn Auto scale off and set the left value to 0 and right value to 0:30.
A second method is to set the chart history length to 600 (20 samples per second * 30 seconds). Setting the chart history length can only be done at design time.
