Time jumps when I use NI 9217 and the daq assistant

Hi,
in my program I want to measure temperature and pressure,
the pressure part have no problem and I get the right signal in the right time but if I start the temp. Measurement I get time jumps in my graph and I have no idea why this happen.
I have tried every setting from the daq ass. for the measurement of the temp. (sample, rate, timeout) but it makes not really a difference.
Pleas help me before I freak out.

ok the problem is your " time has elapsed " vi . Try the attached vi . remove the case structure and you can see the difference . it will give you an idea ............

Fourier Transform and the DAQ Assistant

Hi,
I'm trying to take the fourier transform of a analog voltage measurement in Labview 8.6 and I'm having a problem with the data.
The measurement is an anaolog input voltage signal taken using the USB-6211 box. I am acquiring the signal on ports 15 and 16 (differential) with the DAQ Assistant at a rate of 5KHz, 200 samples. The setup works perfect thankfully, and a very nice waveform plot is generated on the VI. I would now like to add a fourier transform of this plot to do some frequency analysis.
I found the FFT function, but when I tried to add the DAQ output to it, I got an error about dynamic data. It takes me to a screen which I don't understand about dynamic data conversion, and I'm not sure what to do from this point. My FFT graph is basically just a flat white line, which is wrong.
How can I just take the basic fourier transform of a waveform in this setup?

Your thinking is not bad. You have only some scaling problems. You may toy with the vi I am sending. Change the log/linear control and see the result.
You will find all information you need here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4541 and http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4541. The dt value is the reciprocal of the sample frequency(1/x) The unit is second, and it will give you the time interval between two samples.
Also note how I use the "Dynamic To Waveform Array.vi" to convert the dynamic data. This VI is not documented by NI, but you find it here ...vi.lib\express\express shared\transition.llb\Dynamic To Waveform Array.vi

Error message from labview when trying to set up the DAQ assistant

I recieve a message from labview when I try to set up the DAQ assistant and select a channel to use. The error I get states "An exception occured within the external code called by a Call Library Node. This might have corrupted LabView's memory. Save any work to a new location and restart labview". Labview then freezes. I have reset the DAQ device in trying to slove this but I still get the same message. How do I solve this?? thanks - mars2006

Hi Mars-
It sounds like your NI-DAQ installation may have become corrupted. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the DAQmx 7.4 driver to correct this problem and ensure that you're up to date. This download is available here: NI-DAQ 7.4
If the problem persists you may want to uninstall and reinstall LabVIEW and then NI-DAQ in that order. The error message will usually give an indication as to which VI the error occurred in. Please let us know which VI is failing if you're unable to avoid the error with these suggestions.

When I use yahoo images and i open an image in a new window, it tweakes out firefox so that panes are distorted and exerything, the whole firefox browser looks like an F5 tornado took it apart and lumped it on my desktop... is this a known glitch?

I right-clicked and selected close tab. That regains the visual clarity of the browser. But how can I fix this to browse the images?

I tried it again using "save link as", and this time it actually worked! I just now downloaded several more using the "save link as" option, and it works perfectly. Thanks. Problem solved.

Re the OP's question, here is an excellent introduction to Calculation Manager and business rules. It was the first hit when I googled "calculation manager hyperion".

You can also go to odtug.com -- the Tech Resources section has a series of presentations on Calculation Manager, from beginner to intermediate.
The added benefit with business rules are that you can use variables and runtime prompts. You can also link planning with business rules and pass information from a web form into a business rules.^^^Only with Planning. There are no runtime prompts with Essbase in 11.1.2.2 but I hear it is coming back in 11.1.2.3
We can use Business Rule for all applications and it is GUI.^^^Doesn't have to be GUI-based. You can (depending on version) flip back and forth between GUI and script. I have not tried writing (nor can I actually think why you would want to do this) a Calc Mgr rule for multiple apps. Maybe you are thinking of a script object that can be called multiple times?
To check whether a calc script is executed or not you have to use the Essbase application database log file (Plan1.LOG)^^^As business rules are, sooner or later, translated to BSO (and hey, ASO too and HFM and Fusion and HPCM and they can differ, a lot, so this is not always true) calc script language, you can always check in the application log to see what is run if Planning or BSO Essbase.

It is better to have the TC as part of the main network in bridge. You do not need to run wireless.
If you want to use the TC plugged in by ethernet and still use wireless for internet, that is possible but the setup is rather more complicated.. the computer must not get confused about which device to use as a gateway or dns server.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

As Sen correctly states for the DB adapter you have to set the context manually using the fun_global.apps_initilize or Fnd_Client_Info.SET_ORG_CONTEXT. This is usually done in a wrapper procedure.
I wouldn't say I'm an expert in this field as I have only used the APPS adapter for 11.5.10. I believe things have changed a bit for R12, but from my experience with APPS, things change very slow so although R12 is 10g App Server I'm sure the principles are the same.
Sen is also correct saying that base tables are not accessible via the APPS adapter. Basically the apps adapter is there to expose services, base tables are not services.
My recommendation would be different based on the experience of the developer(s). The APPS adapter simplifies the development but may not have the flexibility. The apps adapters sweet spot is those services that are difficult to integrate with, e.g. business services, xml gateway. If these are used heavily I would use the APPS adapter.
What I personally do, even if I'm not using APPS, if I'm connecting to the database I will implement a function, stored procedure, or AQ. It is a little more hassle during deployment, but it treats it more like a service and you are not impacted if the tables change. This is not an endorsement for you to go down this path because it does have a requirement to have PL/SQL knowledge, and it breaks the notion of service abstraction from the DB.

Before exiting your program, serialize your TreeMap to disk. After starting your program serialize your TreeMap from disk.
First stop should be your text book to learn what Serialization is and how it works, then try to write some code, then ask us to help with any problems.

Are you wanting to stop the 41 files from opening at once or is this intentional? At what point do they open when you power on the mac or when you boot Illustrator? What OS version are you using?
