Time machine error could not find passport external drive

Trying to run time machine. At the end of the process i get an error that the back up was delayed until the disk could be found. The passport external hardrive is attached . is formatted for MAc and can be seen in finder. What can I do so Time machine recognized it?

If none of his tips describe the issue, then all I can think of is that there's something amiss with the WD ext HD. Erase and reformat it and don't use the WD SmartWare which isn't. FWIW, I don't use TM, so if this doesn't do the trick, then I'm out of ideas.

When Time Machine runs, my daughter's computer keeps getting an error (in Console) for one of her 2 encrypted backup disks. The error is:
Could not back up OS X Recovery to /Volumes/My Book 2/Backups.backupdb: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=-50 "Could not find any Apple_Boot partitions corresponding to the encrypted backup volume"
I just upgraded her computer to Mountain Lion. Unfortunately, I don't know whether it was receiving that error before, but I don't think so.
The backups complete "successfully" other than that.
What should I do? Does this signify a true problem? Should I get a new backup disk? Thank you!

If it is successfully backing up and she can enter Time Machine without problems, I wouldn't worry about a Console error.

I recently bought a WD for Mac 1TB external drive which has been set up as Time Machine. This was as a result of my internal hard drive failing and being replaced. Time machine has worked a treat for last 3 weeks, but today I get a message:
Time Machine could not complete the backup.
Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder.
So I go into disk utilities to verify the disk and I get this message:
Verifying volume “My Passport for Mac”
Checking file systemError: This disk needs to be repaired. Click Repair Disk.
I click on the Repair Disk and get this message:
Verify and Repair volume “My Passport for Mac”
Volume repair complete.Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.Error: Couldn’t unmount disk.
last backup was at 3.53pm today.
Any ideas?

Why would I need to reboot the whole computer?
However, I did shut it down and restart it and the problem is fixed.

"Time Machine Backups" could not be unmounted (Disk Utilities)

I am having an error message when trying to back up time machine. Therefore I went to disk utilities and verified disk.. said it needs to be prepared. When I try to repair time machine, i then get the following message "The disk “Time Machine Backups” could not be unmounted". I tried again and then it says its been repaired. so when i tried a backup of time machine i get "time machine error. unable to complete backup. an error occurred while copying files to the backup volume"
I have installed "Time machine buddy" and I am getting"error reading system logs"
I have a mac osx 10.5.8. No antivirus or spotlight running that i know of.
Any ideas?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode, see if external Drive can be repaired...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

HT201250 Can I restore photo files from Time Machine without the use of an external drive? I'm trying to restore lost photo files and I see them listed in Time Machine (without use of an external drive), but when I try to restore I get a error code 36.

While I was transferring photos back and forth from a thumb drive something went haywire and my IPhoto was wiped clean! When I click on Time Machine I see all the dated pages (without an external storage drive connected), go back to a date where all my photo files are there, click "restore", and I get the message: "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in file cant be read or written (error code - 36)"

Eclipse give following error :could not find Java 2 runtime environment

When I try to start eclipse it is giving me following error could not find Java 2 runtime environment.It was working fine untill I installed a new verson of eclipse although I am not whethar that is the source of problem.
When i give java -version command in command prompt it shows
Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.4', but '1.6' is required.
Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
My java Home ,classpath , and path are all set as I say it was earliar woking fine.

1. Run regedit
2. Look for Java Runtime Environment

3. Modify the value and change it to the correct version number. (in your case, you would have changed it from 1.4 to 1.6).
This is much quicker than reinstalling Java every time installing something that uses an older version of Java hoses up the registry value.

Errors:"Could not find Web Ser"- "Failed to Lunch E1 menu on HTML Engine"

Hi all
I am trying to install JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and I am using two different machines.
First machine:
Installed Enterprise and Database Server
Second Machine:
Installed Deployment Server.
Installed Oracle Application Server.
Installed Server Manager.
Distributed the HTML Server.
Registered the Oracle Application Server and HTML Server and both services are up and running.
When I try to navigate in the Tools->EnterpriseOne Menu I have two errors:
First error: "Could not find Web Server"
-> followed by the second error: "Failed to launch E1 Menu on HTML Engine"
Is there any configuration steps that I am missing?
Please suggest anything to solve this issue.

you can't start EnterpriseOne Menu from "tools".
Just point you browser to the Distributed the HTML Server url.

I'm getting an error "Could not find compiled resource bundle 'layout' for locale 'en_US'."

I thought I would update to the latest trunk version of the sdk. When I run my code I keep getting this Error being thrown:
"Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'layout' for locale 'en_US'."
It worked fine with the beta sdk and nightly builds from a long time before that. The error occured in builds 7573 and 7830, so what ever changed happened before then. I put a break point in there, and other resource bundles are being loaded ok.
My project uses RSLs and modules. I'm using Flash Builder beta.
I'm not familiar with resource bundles and not sure what to look for. Any ideas as to what to try or where to look?
Is there something I need to update to run the latest code?
Is the the appropriate place to post questions regarding the nightly builds? Or should I be asking somewhere else?

and to actionScriptProperties I have the following where path= is the location of your locale folder

The error that you are getting that shows in the log file by the "pings being blocked" it refers to the connection being block by the firewall or security on your computer.
Things that you should look for is: What type of internet security software you are using will a lot of the time block QVPN from working.
With Windows 7 it has a lot of added security so the windows 7 Firewall has to be on because soon as the firewall is turn off or another firewall is loaded that turns off Win7 firewall, the Win7 OS turns off IPSEC and that is needed for quick VPN to work. Hope this has been helpful and gave you some more understanding.

The application is in french, both for iOS and Android.
It is split in several libs, an application for iOS and another one for android.
I use the same SDK for another mobile application without any problem -but it does not use the mx.logging package.
I tried many things, like the solution described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/758619, but it did not solve the problem. After listing the bundles used I added
-include-resource-bundles=MagnetoFute,collections,components,core,effects,fiber,layout,log ging,messaging,rpc,serializer,skins,sparkEffects,styles,textLayout,utils,validators
to my compiler arguments.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if Adobe has an fr_FR locale for the logging bundle. You can try creating your own to see if that is the only one missing or if there is a whole resource swc missing.

Java Virtual Machine Launcher could not find the main class - program will

I have installed J2SE and followed all the instructions but upon restarting the PC I get a dialogue box with the messege Java Virtual Machine Launcher could not find the main class - program will exit.
I have tried multiple times un-installing and re-intalling this but i still get the messege when i restart windows.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what i may be doing wrong.
When I do the verify installation I get the congtratulations you have the latest Java Installed.

Something is being automatically started when the pc starts. Assuming Windows, to see what it is, learn to use the msconfig program:

I have decided to finally start learning Java and am currently, and slowly, making my way through the tutorials. I am only on chapter 2 in the class section. While reading I came uponJava Tutorials Sample Code and wanted to try and compile it in netbeans. This is the code that it contained:

Thanks for posting ALL of the info - most posters don't do that and it makes it hard to help them.
Your exception shows it is looking for 'bicycledemo.BicycleDemo' so the 'BicycleDemo' class is expected to be in a package named 'bicycledemo'. The code you posted and the code at the link does NOT use a package statement.
When you create a new project in NetBeans it will AUTOMATICALLY add a package name to the start of a new class file. So, unknown to you, it created a package named 'bicycledemo' and put the class file in it.
In step #4 you deleted the template code (which had a 'package bicycledemo' statement in it) and replaced it with the tutorial code.
Likely you didn't notice the package statement in the template before you deleted the template code.

.Add that package statement as the first line of the class source code.
You should generally ALWAYS put your code in a package. For some reasons many of the tutorials do NOT do that.

On my HD it does not say ,restore, in yourname -pict. Iphoto lib.,

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)
