Time Management Interface

Hi,
I am involved in a project that links Kronos Time Management system with SAP 4.6C . Since Kronos is certified for standard interface HR-PDC, we can use it for integration without patch-work.
For more information, go to <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/sdnservices/icc">this link</a> and on the right hand side, select Human Resources from Integration Scenarios -> Business Application Integration. Select HR-PDC from the list of interfaces available for HR.
There are a few concerns though, the most important being related to transfer of HR mini-master data. It is mentioned in the interface documentation that SAP always sends complete master data for all employees and that deltas are not supported.
Now, the customer has around 50,000 employees and sending data for each one of them every night doesn't seem to be a workable solution, especially when only 30-50 records change in a day. I understand that sending deltas can be accomplished through some tweaking, I am wondering why the standard interface won't support them, knowing the fact that all historical (delta) information is available from cluster PCL4.
So if anyone has had previous experience of working on HR-PDC, please shed some light on their experience.
Regards

Although I understand that SAP themselves are in a better position to answer the question of why the interface is like that, I am asking if anyone experienced any short-comings with sending delta information. For example, perhaps the number of scenarios for which delta was to be transferred were too many and sending complete information was more suitable. Any previous experiences...

Secondly, is there a standard interface to record and send changes in Organization and Staffing (create, modifiy, delete) to a sub-system? I am talking in relation to t. code PPOME. Is HR-OCI the right interface for that???
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. It was quite helpful.
It is fine to download time balances but downloading whole employee (mini)master data each day is a bit difficult to explain to stakeholders. Perhaps I may need to create my own driver program that populates data for modified employees only. Thoughts??? Is this the correct approach???
As far as the second one is concerned, I am interested in downloading new/modified OM records like departments, jobs, positions, etc. It seems the same can be catered for by using HR-PDC through business object RCVPEVTREC, method receivePObject. I perhaps overlooked the interface specs.
Thanks again and I may get back with more questions.

  • Positive time management through interface or without interface

    Hi Gurus,
I am working on positive time management and i have few queries:
    1. As a consultant I have to suggest my client whether they should for interface between sap and eternal recording system or not... What you guys suggest which one is better.
    2. I came to know that there is a standard interface(HR PDC) in sap to interact with ecternal recording system. I want to know how this Sap interact with external recording system i.e. online or offline using this interface.
Please reply to my queries soon..
Points will be awarded for the inputs.
Hope to hear soon from u guys...

    1. As a consultant I have to suggest my client whether they should go for interface between sap and eternal recording system or not... What you guys suggest which one is better.
If your client wish to go for postive time management it is must for you create interface either you willing to say or not.
Without that interface you can't do time positive time management
    2. I came to know that there is a standard interface(HR PDC) in sap to interact with ecternal recording system. I want to know how this Sap interact with external recording system i.e. online or offline using this interface.
I belive this needs some third party tool to intract with PDC. then you have use time evaluation status TMSTA 1 according to  PDC
I belive it bit differnt from what you are looking for.
please tell me what kind of time terminal your client is using at the moment?

  • 2 AP Management interface WLC 5508 at the same time

    Good afternoon,
I have a customer that wants a few APs are managed by the interface of management and do join by that interface and another group of APs are managed and do join by another interface configured as "Enable Dynamic AP Management"
is a WLC 5508, i created an interface by checking the option "Enable Dynamic AP Management" but does not work, by the interface of management are recorded without problems.
Is it possible to do this? Are you supported?

I don't know I understand your question properly or not.
I think you want to join APs to management and AP manager interface at same time ?
When you want to allow APs to join on two ports 1(management) & 2 at the same time, then you have use this:
As you must be aware that only one AP manager is allowed per port. So if you leave the Management interface as an AP‐manager and just create one additional AP manager interface, you’ll allow APs to join to either port, but the Management interface will not be able to fail over since that would make two AP managers on the same interface.
    Or
Remove the AP management function from the Management interface and then create two new AP manager interfaces (one for each port).

  • What are the major challenges for the end-user in using Positive Time Management

    Hi Seniors,
Can anybody please provide me some data on the same.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Positive time management is slightly difficult to implement compared to negative time management.
In negative time management, you use planned working times + deviations in time evaluation.
In positive time management, you record actual times through time recording system. You have to bring these times to SAP through an interface and then evaluate the actual times against the planned times and accordingly pay them out. You would need to pay attention regarding the integration between SAP R/3 and time recording system.
Building rules for positive time management is slightly more challenging compared to negative time management.
Kindly go through the below documents on positive time management which will give you more idea about the same.
Integration of Time Recording Terminals with SAP R/3
Determination of First Clock In & Last Clock Out in Positive Time Evaluation
Late Coming, Early Going and Unauthorized absence
Prorated Grant of Absence Quota for Contract Period in Time Evaluation
Splitting of Overtime Hours after X Hours in Time Evaluation
Rounding off Overtime Hours Generated via T510S table in Time Evaluation
Public Holiday Calendar and Work Schedule Rules
I hope these are helpful to you.

  • DBM - Time Management - CATS Transfer to CO

    Hello DBM Gurus,
we are trying to set up Time Management  in our DBM implementation (6.04).
the DBM transactions work and create timestamps in CATS as expected but, we seem to have a problem with the integration between CATS an CO. The entries in cats do not create CO transactions in the internal order of DBM order (no entries created in table CATSCO).
We have followed all the instructions we could find. this is still not enough.
Are there any specific steps rellevant to this problem (transfer from CATS to CO) that we might have missed?
Do you know any Cookbook or helpful help on this issue?
    thanks in advance,
    Daniel Gamss

You can refer this link for details process of interface data from HR and CO,PS,MM ...
Normally after book in timesheet from CAT2 ->Data will be save in CATSDB table,
after approves data will exist in CATSCO , CATSPS, CATSMM and then we use CAT5 to interface data from HR to PS, CAT7 to interface frm HR to CO ...
For you case no data exist in CATSCO ->check data already approves or not

  • HR toolbox payroll/Time management step by step

    Hi Experts,
Can you please tell me the PU12 Payroll/Time management step by step process?.
    Thanks.

The SAPADPFR process model is designed to launch a payroll and export payroll data to SAP using the Interface with external payroll systems (pu12) transaction. The system creates a process corresponding to the process model for each of the payroll services in the Services menu. In the scenario, ADP-GSI indicates whether the service must use the process model or not. You can copy the SAPADPFR standard process model and adapt it to your companyu2019s requirements.
To launch the SAPADPFR process model, the name of the process model must be entered in the PM_PAIE constant (SAPADDFR by default). Program RPPM0FI creates a link between the different programs run in the process model and the process itself.
The sequence of programs defined in this process model is as follows:
    ○        OT_SELECT_PERNR_OTFR initializes the process model. The user selects the personnel numbers for the payroll areas pre-selected in a dialog box. The status of the payroll areas considered on Released for payroll is updated in the HRPAYFR_ADP_PERNUM BAdl implemented by ADP-GSI.
    ○        RPCALCF0 launches the payroll for each employee selected.
    ○        RPIF00FI creates an export file based on the options defined in pu12 for the FADP interface format.
    ○        RPPMFLFI calls program RPFL00FI with the file formatting data based on the options defined in pu12.
    ○        RPTMSEFI converts the file to ZADIG format.
    ○        RPSENDFI sends the data file to ADP.
The value of the TEM_DVR code affects the following steps:
    ○        RPDOWNFI extracts the reference values.
    ○        RPSENDFI sends the reference values.
    ○        RPPMCDFI deletes the reference values file and indicates the end of the process.
A breakpoint is planned after each program that does not use the PNP logical database:
           1.      to manage return codes as they appear in a ADP scenario: a return code less than or equal to 50 stops the process
           2.      to call the  HRFR_PROCESS_STOP_OT_SAPOTFR function module
A conditional breakpoint is planned for management codes. Depending on these codes, it is possible to skip these steps. These breakpoints call the HRFR_PROCESS_NAVIG_OT_SAPOTFR function module.
In the SAPADPFR process model, in the event of an error the process stops on the step following the conditional breakpoint. The function module called allows you to ascertain whether the previous step (STOP_OTFR) was carried out correctly.
A procedure for purging processes is integrated into the FINPER service after the process is closed.
It is possible to view the result of the process and the updated status of the ADP exchange in the exchange table (T5F6K). Program RPDV90FI creates a link between the completed process and the ADP transmission table. You can view this information in the process log for this program.

  • Is it possible to access the http web interface over the fa1 management interface?

    Hello All,
I am remotely connected into a Cat 4500 + Supervisor V module via console cable and point to point connection from laptop to fa1 management interface on SupV.  SupV module is running IOS 15.0(2)SG8.
I am not able to physically change the patch cable from fa1 management interface to gi2/3 or any other switch port for a couple days and would like to see if it is possible to access the http server through this fa1 port since I am working remotely.  I can ping the laptop from fa1 and tftp ok but cannot access the http/https server.  Is this even possible without connecting the laptop into a regular switch port like gi 2/3 gi 2/4 etc..?  The reason I ask is I would like to use Cisco Networking Assistant gui for some things but need access to https server first over the fa1 link.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • 5508 WLC HA pair - change management interface settings

    Hi,
We have a pair of 5508 WLC's in a HA configuration that is working well at the moment, however I have noticed that the management interface is configured as untagged. I would like to change this to tagged and change the attached switch to trunk for these devices but if I try and edit the management interface through the GUI the VLAN and IP address section is greyed out and cannot be changed. While I could attempt it through the CLI and am comfortable doing that, the fact that it cannot be changed through the GUI implies that this should not be changed and so I am after further information. I don't have any lab equipment other than the HA pair in production so I cannot try changing it through the CLI at the moment.
The WLC's are in LAG mode if that makes any difference. I realise there may be downtime required for making this change but I am trying to work out the steps to get this done without having to drastically reconfigure things.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

Introduction of New Interfaces for HA Interaction
    Redundancy Management Interface
The IP address on this interface should be configured in the same subnet as the management interface. This interface will check the health of the Active WLC via network infrastructure once the Active WLC does not respond to Keepalive messages on the Redundant Port. This provides an additional health check of the network and Active WLC, and confirms if switchover should or should not be executed. Also, the Standby WLC uses this interface in order to source ICMP ping packets to check gateway reachability. This interface is also used in order to send notifications from the Active WLC to the Standby WLC in the event of Box failure or Manual Reset. The Standby WLC will use this interface in order to communicate to Syslog, the NTP server, and the TFTP server for any configuration upload.
    Redundancy Port
This interface has a very important role in the new HA architecture. Bulk configuration during boot up and incremental configuration are synced from the Active WLC to the Standby WLC using the Redundant Port. WLCs in a HA setup will use this port to perform HA role negotiation. The Redundancy Port is also used in order to check peer reachability sending UDP keep-alive messages every 100 msec (default timer) from the Standby WLC to the Active WLC. Also, in the event of a box failure, the Active WLC will send notification to the Standby WLC via the Redundant Port. If the NTP server is not configured, a manual time sync is performed from the Active WLC to the Standby WLC on the Redundant Port. This port in case of standalone controller and redundancy VLAN in case of WISM-2 will be assigned an auto generated IP Address where last 2 octets are picked from the last 2 octets of Redundancy Management Interface (the first 2 octets are always 169.254).

  • Time management infotype?

    Hi all,
I am working on a interface between time recording machine and R/3.
I wanna know the time event infotype and in which table is the data stored .
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
The data will be stored in the tables PA2002 & PA2001.
External time data is stored in the interface tables PTEX2000 and PTEXDIR by the data transfer. In addition, the data is read by the report RPTEXTPT (Transfer External Data -> Time Management) from the file PTEX2000 and stored as attendances/absences in the Attendances (2002) or Absences (2001) infotypes.
    Hope this helps you.
    Cheers,

  • Time Inbound Interface

    Hi,
I'm sending an Idoc named HRSM_D01, for inbound time data to HR.
However we don't understand why sometimes it populate only the table PTEXDIR  and some other times the tables PTEXDIR and PTEX2000.
Can you guys explain me this Time inbound interface?
    Thanks in advance.
    Luí

    Hi Luis,
PTEXIDR & PTEX2000 are staging tables for the Time Interface with External Time Management Systems. Data in each IDoc is stored both in PTEXDIR & PTEX2000 when you try to record Attendences/Absences. The Report RPTEXTPT reads the data from the Interface Table PTEX2000 and saves it in 2001 & 2002 PA Infotypes to be used in Time Evaluation.
When you transfer Time Wagetypes, the data is stored in PTEXDIR & PTEX2010.
When you transfer Planned Working Time, the data is stored in PTEXDIR,PTEX2003GEN & PTEX2003SPEC tables.
Depending on the data transferred, the Report RPTEXTPT reads the relevant Interface tables & saves it into the corresponding PA Infotypes.

    Hi,

    Thanks in advance.
    Ajay

    Hi Chandrashekar,
Can you please advise how actually the transfer of clock times from time recording terminals to SAP R/3 will work?
I read from help.sap.com that there is a SAP certified CC1 interface (BAPI based) which can be used for this purpose. However, in such a case, the time recording terminals should be SAP CC1 certified.
If the time recording terminals are not SAP CC1 certified, then what is the method to be used? Will we write a custom BDC program in this scenario and what all should be considered in functional specification of such a BDC program.
    Please advise.
    Thanks and warm regards,

  • 2950 - Changing the Management interface.

    Hi Guys
I know the SI 2950's can't support more than 1 active SVI at any one time and i've seen from the release notes of the 2950 code that the "management" command is no longer available for changing the management interface VLAN.
Considering this what would be the best way to change teh management VLAN remotely on a large number of 2950's without losing connectivity? I'd lab this up myself by I don't have a 2950 around to see what happens when I "Un Shut" the new VLAN.
Any help would be muchly apprciated.
    Thanks

    Please disregard this message.
I found a 2950 and discovered that when the new interface is "un shut" the old interface is automatically shut down.
