hello experts,
we are facing a problem in stopping quota. thr requirment is like : the entitlement is 2.5 days permonth, which is happening, the maximum accumulation is suppoesd to be 53 days, which is not happening. we are generating it every month using the report RPTQTA00. we have given Max. entitlm as 53 in Total entitl. but that only limits when we generate at bulk for ex 2 years. please help me out.

If you are on a Mac I have a solution for you. If you have a Mac you don't need Acrobat, it's just slow extra weight trash. But sometime uninstalling can leave behind updater crap thats no better than a virus, shame on you Adobe.
Launch Terminal.app (you can use spotlight and type terminal)
Type: sudo nano /etc/hosts
Enter your OSX password when promoted
add a line in this file: 127.0.0.1 armmf.adobe.com
press <control + x> and save the file
What's this do?
Adobe some how has some weekly background installer that contacts the URL armmf.adobe.com and downloads update software and then prompts you to install it or cancel, never a "don't remind me" option. So this just simply blocks any request from your computer to this one URL. If the updater can't call home then it can't bother you with a useless update it couldn't find. Simple.
The hidden updater will still run and try to call home from time to time and I think someday Adobe should be sued with anti trust violations, but thats another day.

How to stop report updating the records

Morning all,
I have created a report which calculates reworked jobs according to a group (reason code). I later on added a sub report which calculates all the jobs (that is all the processed jobs). The sub report is linked with main report by Reason code.
Reason Code 1 to 99 in main report is linked with the reason code 1 to 99 in the sub report.
There are 9 specified reason codes. for example
Customer care - 1-99 reason code - This reason code total processed orders value is the same as Supplier.
Lab Surfacing - 200-299 reason code -
Lab Tinting - 400-499 reason code -
Hard Coating - 800-899 reason code -
Supplier etc. - 900-99 reason code - This reason code total processed orders value is the same as CstCare.
When the report runs, it calculates the value of the first group 1-99, sub report counts the total processed orders and displays the value (upto here it is fine). As the report goes on reading records, it updates the values and shows an updated value in some groups which needs to be the same as the first group value.
For example
If Customer Care had 470 processed orders, by the time it reaches Supplier it shows 507 processed orders, where as it should have kept it to 470 processed orders for Supplier group as both should have same value of orders processed.
The report is running fine however the records which are being pulled from the sub report gets updated by the time report finish counting all the records.
The main reason why it is doing is because it starts recounting on each group reason code. So when it sets off from reason code 1 to 99, it calculates all the records and then filters them to get 1 to 99 reason code records. Then when it comes to 100-199 group it starts recounting again all the records. The process kept itself until it stops matching reason codes between two reports.
Any ideas how to process all the records at once from the sub report? so that each time it looks for the record, it just picks what has been processed?
I suspect instead of keeping it on the group level I should move the sub reports on the header of the main report?
Any ideas will be welcomed.

Hi J,
This is not possible in Crystal, as you are well aware that when it is processing a group in the report, it will process that particular group objects like sub totals, group totals, sub reports etc. You can't pull all information (sub report) at once and show in bits and pieces.
You may have to create an intermediate database and replicate the data from your main database in certain intervals. It will help you to prevent different count in groups.

How to stop automatic updates

I NEED Adobe reader, but I do not want any software to break into my computer and force itself on me.
I have had my preferences properly formatted for months ("do not download or install") but Adobe ignores the Preferences (both home and at work) and several times a day tries to update. I have gone through my registry and deleted Adobe auto everything and Adobe ARM. Still get update nags. I have gone through all my Temp files and deleted everything I can find, including several identical files!
I am tired of being interrupted by Reader wanting to download, plus I resent the program's rapacious behavior. How can I stop this? How can I teach Adobe that NO MEANS NO?
I'm sure there's something to be done that I haven't figured out. Please help me.

If setting is missing, the default is "Download and ask me to install", which is what you seems to get.
You need to set iCheck DWORD value in the registry below to 0 if you want to disable auto completely.

or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM on 32bit OS
Do not delete any files - it will not help, but can lead to unforeseen issues with the application.

Windows 10 - How to Stop Automatic Update July 29th

Hi, all! I just purchased a Lenovo Yoga 3 14. I'm in the process of setting it up (any suggestions welcome, but I've been reading through this forum and searching online for help) and have been unable to find an answer to the following question. The sales associate told me that any PC I purchased (which currently has Windows 8.1) will automatically update itself to Windows 10 on July 29th once connected to the internet. My problem is that I will be sitting for the bar exam at the end of the month with this laptop (ending on the 30th). The bar exam uses ExamSoft (by SofTest), which does not support Windows 10 (yet, not guaranteed to do so by the bar exam - and definitely not something I want to have to worry about). The exam software requires an internet connection to upload the exam, though it is not connected to the internet other than for the upload. I shut off Automatic Update (for now) and am hoping that if I do not connect to the internet for long (though I can't control how long and it may need to be connected for a long time to upload), it won't update. Does anyone know of a way that I can stop this automatic update? (When I updated my old laptop to Win8 and then 8.1, I was able to opt in to the update and run it when I chose, as well as go back to the former version if I didn't like the new. It seems odd to me that this is an automatic update without option.) Thanks in advance!

If I were in your situation, I'd leave it as is. As long as we will eventually have to approve the download and most likely agree to several prompts, I wouldn't bother going through the extra work of removing the reminder. Someone else might have another opinion, but that is what I'd do.

Today, I noticed that my system was trying to download 8.1.2.
I did not request a check for updates.
How do I disable the automatic downloading of updates?
I loke thru Edit | Preferences and did not find any options to do so.

Did you reboot?
I've never seen the Add/Remove programs list go away, that indicates a deeper problem.
After rebooting, do you see the Add/Remove programs list?
If not, open the Control Panel, right click and select refresh.
Does that fix things?
If not, I suggest posing this question in the microsoft.public.* newsgroup for your OS.

My Note 4 Lollipop update started automatically so I pulled out the battery to stop it.. That didn't work after I put the battery back in.. So I pulled the battery out again hoping someone would have an answer.. How to stop GarageBand updates

I never use Garageband but don't really want to just delete it in case I take the notion later.
My problem is that I keep getting update requests and don't want to be downloading a bunch of stuff I don't need. I really can't believe my options are "Install" or "Later" with no "Ignore" button. Maybe I'm getting cynical but I'm feeling like I'm being bullied into updating (speeding up the obsolete computer process) and that's really annoying considering I've just shelled out a lot of hard-earned cash for this machine, I feel I should be allowed to do what I want with it, not what apple wants.
I've looked at other posts -- and tried moving GB into the privacy column of spotlight in systems preferences. I thought that had worked but still no joy...the update notice came back again today.

It is risky - you might miss important security updates.
But I assume when I manually update the GB one will still be there right?
Yes, the updates will be there, as long as the App Store will be supporting them. Try to update, before the next GarageBAnd version will be released, that needs to be purchased and is not a free update. Or before a n ew version will be released, that will only run on a newer MacOS X version than you can run on your Mac. The AppStore may then no longer offer the versions that can be installed on your Mac.

I am currently using iTunes on my iMac, and when I edit an album's name it saves it, but it reverts back to the original name when I open it back up. For example, I purchased the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Score from iTunes and on some random tracks it lists the artist as The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and again as the album title.
