Time of Facebook events off one hour in Lumia 520 ...

Since a few weeks, the times of events created in Facebook are entered incorrectly in my Lumia calendar, all events after 29 March (the start of the summer time) are one hour too early. How can this be fixed? The times are correct in the Facebook events themselves. The appointments that I entered in the calendar manually are still at the right time.

Hi, astrid79. Just to verify, is your date and time settings set to automatic? For some countries, Daylight Saving Time (DST) has been made to effect on March 30. If you are in a country where they observe DST, this can be one of the possible reasons. Another is if you change your calendar settings on calendar.live.com To verify this, can you go to:
calendar.live.com > settings / gear icon > Options > choose your primary calendar > Default reminders for events and tasks > Notifications on your device > At start time
Hope this helps. Let us know the outcome.

  • One Birthday off One Hour

I have search high and low and it seems that the issue I have has been discussed in one form or another, but no solution has been found. Here is what's happening: one birthday entered into Outlook (either via putting a birthday into a Contact record or via direct input into the Calendar that is marked for all day) ends up shifting one hour on the BlackBerry. So, instead of an All Day appointment on the BlackBerry, it shows as 1 am to 1 am the next day. In Outlook (connected to Exchange), the appointment still shows as All Day (12 am to 12 am).
I have deleted the Calendar entry in Outlook and recreated it in Outlook, but that doesn't work. I have deleted the date in the Contact record in Outlook and re-entered it in Outlook, but that doesn't work. I have edited the Calendar entry on the BlackBerry to be an All Day event, but as soon as the BlackBerry checks in with Exchange, the entry switches back to being one hour off. I just checked OWA and it too shows the Calendar entry with the correct date information. It's only the BlackBerry that's off one hour, and it's only this one record.
This only happens with one particular Contact, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Does anyone have a solution for this, or is my OCD about this one particular entry being off one hour going to drive me even more insane?
    Ian

    YOUR QUESTION IS NOT SILLY!!!
I'm very frustrated that starting DAY 1 with version 1.0 of iPhone software, no birthdays over 74 years old appear on the iPhone!!! I missed my dad's birthday last year!!!!!
Applecare support duplicated this for me on the phone and then said - go on line to support and enter feedback to get our attention.
Well I've done this several times.
I wonder if it will take an article in an AARP journal proclaiming age-ism in the iPhone to get Apple's attention!
Yes you are not crazy and we are both a bit disappointed.

Now, when the one hour long movie is ready the video seem to paus every 5 sec (only for half a second). It does it all the way through the movies.
What is wrong? All the sudden.

    We need info, info, info!
    What version of FCP X?
Did you render? what are the project specs? do you use many compound clips? how much ram, hard drive space, how is the hard drive connected?
It looks like your mac can't keep up. Maybe the bottleneck is the hard drive, or something else.
Try exporting a master file and see if the video is ok.
Also, keep Activity Monitor open and see how much memory pressure you've got.

  • It says iCal will default events with no end time to one hour..and mine used to..but since I upgraded to Lion it doesn't.  Any suggestions as to how I can get it to default events to one hour?

My iCal used to default to one hour when I posted an event with a start time and no end time.  The user guide says it will default to one hour.  Since I started using OS Lion, my calendar doesn't do that.  Can anyone suggest a way for me to get the calendar to default to one hour again?  Thanks.

    Dana,
Here are some iCal data entry tips from iCal Help:
Enter a name, date, and time duration for the event, and then press Return.
For example, you can enter “Super Bowl Party Feb 5,” “Movie with Rebecca on Friday at 7pm,” “Soccer Game on Saturday from 11am-1pm,” or “Breakfast with Jon,” and then press Return.
If you don’t enter a time duration for the event, iCal sets the event’s duration to 1 hour.
If you don’t enter any time information for the event, iCal makes the event an all-day event.
If you enter “breakfast” or “morning,” iCal sets the event to start at 9 a.m.
If you enter “lunch “ or “noon,” iCal sets the event to start at 12 p.m.
If you enter “dinner” or “night,” iCal sets the event to start at 8 p.m.

  • Imported Events, All One Hour Off :-(

Just exported over 1000 events from our athletic games from Excel to Palm, so that I could save as vcal files.
All the times were correct in Excel and Palm, but after importing to iCal ALL the imported events (1000+) were now one hour earlier.
My iCal preferences did have "Time Zone Support" on.
    Weird...any help would be appreciated

    1) Make sure your BlackBerry is actually set for the correct time and time zone.
    2) make sure your PC (where your email client runs) is set to the correct time and time zone.
    3) Go ahead and install the DST patch on your BlackBerry. If its not needed it wont be applied.

  • Events moved one hour forward in the Iphone calendar

    Hi,
    I have Iphone 3gs, 3.1.3.
    Windows 7 and Office 2007.
In both of them I have marked the V on change the clock automatecly
The time in the Iphone and my PC are the same time.
I think that since I moved the clock I have this problem.
    1. All the events in the Iphone calendar moved one hour forward.
For example event that starts at 9 in the outlook will start at 10 at the Iphone.
    2. All the events for full day in the iphone are one day backward.
For example event that is in all munday in the outlook, is in all sunday.
I tried to delete the event are sync.
I tried to force rewrite all the calendar information in the next sync
I tried to unmark the V in the automatecly clock change.
    Can someone helps me?
    Thanks
    Elad

Under the setting app in on the iPhone, go to the mail, contacts and calendar heading. At the very bottom of the calendar settings, do you have time zone support turned on?

  • Facebook Events showing one day early in calendar iOS6

I recently updated to iOS6 and synced my facebook account with my calendar and contacts.
My problem is that all the facebook events I have joined are showing up as being 1 day earlier than they are on facebook.
Facebook Birthdays are displaying fine, it's just facebook events that are wrong.
Have tried deleting my fb account, turning facebook calendar sync off and on, re-starting my phone, and checked location settings

    Jason L wrote:
Since the iPhone is updated and disabling Time Zone Support does not affect the calendar events it, the issue is most likely related to Outlook/Exchange.
That logic seems somewhat flawed. Outlook displays it fine. Exchange displays it fine. Other phones display it fine. iPhone displays it wrong.
To me, issue is most likely related to iPhone?
    Jason L wrote:
Did you run into any errors or problems when trying the tips in the Resolution or Additional Information sections of the article you linked above?
No errors, Outlook was already set to my timezone, so I forced it to re-change it to my timezone again. It scanned through my appointments and then gave the message "No appointments, meetings or reminders were found that needed to be moved to the new time zone."

  • Daylight savings moved all my event ahead one hour

When Daylight savings kicked in all of my iCal events were bumped ahead 1 hour, is there a fix for this?

I'm not sure why your appointments would have changed
Because the time for appointments are relative to GMT. DST changed relative to GMT which never changes. You can force the times to always remain the same by turning on Time Zone Override.
You have to remember that when put events into a calendar that the time is relative to GMT and your location. Put an event that is a 5:00P EDT and fly to California the time if the event will change to 2:00P PDT. The event is still occurring at the time you specified as it is still 5:00P on the east coast. If you have an event scheduled in California and you enter the event into your calendar while you are in New York you need to put the time for the event as when the event will occur in New York. Then when you arrive in California the time of the event will adjust.
You can skip all this by turning on Time Zone Override and selecting the time zone you always want to use.
It sort of makes sense once you get used to it. I fly to Europe a lot from the east coast. When I enter my flight information the times are relative to the time in New York when the event will occur in Europe. I have to make some mental calculations to add six hours to the event time. My calendar now shows the true duration of the event, especially when flying.

  • Outlook sync after Eastern Standard Time Change-All events are 1 hour late

After sync'ing with outlook this past weekend, all my iphone calendar events are 1 hour late. the Eastern Standard Time change must have affected this. The time on my phone and my laptop are the same however. Anyone experienced the same issue?

I had a similar problem with iCal, my Treo 650, and Missing Sync. I found a solution on the Missing Sync website that worked for me -- see my post at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5453855&#5453855.

  • Adjusting all events by one hour?

Is there any easy way to push back the events of a single calendar by one hour? For example: I have a calendar on CST that I want to move to EST, but I really don't want to change each even individually.
Also, while I'm asking-- is there a script or something that lets your prune the beginning/end of event titles?
    Thanks

    Hi,
To move all events of one calendar, take a look at my Offset iCal Events applescript on this page.
If you want to move events between timezones, you should look into using timezone support in iCal.
    Best wishes

  • My alarm goes off one hour early and this is a nuisance. How can I solve it

Every morning I wake up an hour early because my iphone 3GS alarm goes off an hour early. Please tell me how to sort this out.
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
To cause Mail to display outgoing attachments as icons instead of in-line, you can open Terminal.app and insert this command:
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1
To enable in-line attachments again once disabled (so attachments again appear as documents displayed in-line, not icons):
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0

  • IPhone OS4 alarm went off one hour later than scheduled

I live in the UK and have a weekly alarm normally set for 530 am.
My clock was showing yesterday (Sunday) the right time since daylight savings changed.
I changed the time of the alarm to 458 last evening (ie since the time zone change), and the alarm went off at 558 this morning instead. The clock time is right. The alarm time is showing the time i wanted it to go.
There is a bug with existing alarms carrying forward with changes to DST, even if the alarm is amended.
Please confirm the issue - it meant i missed my weekly flight to Prague this morning !!

Hi there. There seem to be only 2 ways round this at the moment:
    1. You just set all the existing saved alarms you have 1 hours earlier or
    2. Create a new alarm but DO NOT allocate it to days of the week as this is where the bug come into effect on my phone.
Test it yourself...set an alarm for 2 minutes time with no selected day or anything and it works, but set the alarm with days of the week it is to operate and you will find it then doesn't work!
The guys at Apple told me just to make all alarms 1 hours early, and then the first time I get woken up to early is the day the problem is fixed! :-/
I hope my observations might help someone, cheers

  • Synching Treo 600 with I Cal alters meeting time by one hour?

When preforming a synch with I CAL, all meeting times, Flight times etc were moved back one hour! Having now manually corrected the Schedule on the TREO what can I do to prevent this from recurring the next time I synch with Ical? Can I make the Treo Schedule override the now incorrect times on ICAL?

    Hi,
Time zone issues have always been a pain in the you know what.
Here is what the guys at Mark/Space gave me a long time ago. Maybe it will work with your situation.
Ho Boy do I hate those 1 hour off time shift (ST-DT) issues, they are my worst nightmare. Because it is always a case by case solution, never got a single solution to work twice.
So I will have to give you my check list, so you can go throuth it. The big picture is, making some backups, reset the pram on the Mac. Do the check list, finally do an overwrite of the handheld with the desktop data.
    Here we go.
Do some backups first by following those simple steps
    1. Go to Address Book, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up Address Book'. Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'.
    2. Go to Missing Sync and double click on the Backup Conduit and set it to backup all databases. Then run the sync with just that Backup conduit selected, disable all other conduits.
    3. Go to: /Users/<user name>/Documents/Palm/Users/<hotsync name>/ now hold the 'ctrl' key and click on the /Backups/ folder. Choose the option to 'Create Archive of "Backups"'. This is to safeguard your backed up data in case anything goes wrong.
    Reset PRAM
Shut down your computer, as soon as you start your computer press and hold command-option-P-R keys simultaneously until you hear the chime start up sound 3 times. Then let go of the keys.
Support Reps and Engineers have met over this issue of Time Zones. There are some grey zones that still need to be addressed, either by us, Apple's iCal team or Palm.
Here is a list of items that you need to verify or correct.
    1) Launch iCal, in the iCal menu go to Preferences, in the toolbar, click "Advanced", make sure that "Turn on time zone support" is unchecked.
    2) On your device, launch you calendar, menu Preferences, uncheck "New events use time zones".
    3) Check for new firmware updates available for your device. http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/
    4) Verify your location and time. (Ex: if your location is not listed in the selections you can add it).
To add your location, tap location, go to "edit list", in the new window tap "add", you will see a list of Cities, go down the list to "Your Location" and add it to the your list.
    5) On your Mac, in the System Preferences, open the Date & Time pane, check your "Time Zone". Make sure that it is the same as your Treo.
    6) On your device, tap on the TimeCopy application use the drop-down menu to select Option and then Preference, you can modify to "Update" at Local time only.
    7) If you are using third-party Calendar applications (such as DateBK 5, Agendus etc.) consult your user documentation or contact the appropriate technical support representative.
Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'. Modify the name of the backup so that it won't overwrite the one you did earlier.
I suggest that you 'Reset Sync History' using the iSync preferences option. The first sync will likely be slower.
    1) Launch iSync
    2) Click on the iSync menu
    3) Choose Preferences (make sure the "Enable syncing on this computer" is checked)
    4) Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
    5) This may launch iCal. Also the status of the reset is showing in the iSync display. When the reset is complete quit both iSync and iCal.
Launch Missing Sync and enable the Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks conduits and set them to Desktop overwrite Handheld. Disable all other conduits.
Then sync, when you do, you will get a dialog box with an orange iSync icon on it. Check the box to erase the device, then click the 'Allow' button. It will overwrite your device. You will get one for events, one for tasks, and one for contacts. The next time you sync .mac or other devices that sync with iSync like an iPod, you will get these same dialog boxes for their databases and you should check the box and click 'Allow' in those cases as well.
    Good luck...

  • ICal events are incorrect by one hour

I am using the Google Calendar and have an issue with the transfer of data from IPhone 3Gs to my IMac. If I place an event time on the Iphone calendar, this event gets transferred incorrectly to the IMac by one hour earlier. My IPad calendar transfers the timed event correctly to the IMac, but incorrectly to the IPhone. When going from IPad to IPhone the time on the IPhone is one hour later than it should be. The net result is a very confusing Calendar.

Today I created (3) All Day Events on my iPhone 4S to represent upcoming vacation days for Nov 21, 22, and 23. After sync, Outlook shows correct All-day events for 21 and 22. The All-day event for 23 is missing and displayed on Nov 24. This is a direct sync (wireless) and no Exchange server is involved. Any ideas? I see similar posts that go back to last year and iOS4. I would at least like to know if Apple is aware of this, or is it just my phone.
