Time-Out Configuration in EP6?

Hi,
it´s possible to change the time-out for a user in EP6.0?
Best regards
Christian

If you are thinking of like the idle time out in R/3, then no.  However... you can set how long the saplogonticket (non-persistant cookie) is valid for.  As default this is 8 hours.  If you reduce it to 2 hours for example, then any user still in their session after two hours will have to re-authenticate.

  • UWL: Time Out Error in EP6

    Hello,
    We are on EP 6.0.
We have configured UWL for R3 and CRM systems. Recently user started getting below error message
"Time out occured. Time taken is more than 30 seconds"
I know In EP7 we have this parameter in Optional Configuration under UWL admin. But this is not present in EP6.
Can you please tell me the place where I can configure this parameter ?
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Vinod,
I believe that this parameter is not available on the UI for your version.  Can you please check the following:
On the portal go to System Admin, System Configuration, System Landscape.
Scroll down in the system landscape and try to find your CRM system that you are connecting to.
Once you have found this right click and select open.  Next select, connection tests.  Click on the boxes, and select test.
This provides useful information as to why the connection isn't working or is timing out.  Another thing that you can do is to check the UWL log files.
Could you please post the outcome of the connection tests?  The tests need to be successful for the UWL to work properly.
Will you be upgrading soon?  The reason why I am asking is because there are many excellent features in the newer versions of the Universal Worklist, like the real-time refresh feature.

  • SOAP synchronous channel specific call time out configuration

    Hi,
This is regarding channel specific timeout configuration in SOAP sender and receiver channel.
We are having SOAP to Proxy synchronous web services. One of the web service is taking longer to execute the RFC's in ECC and getting the results back to PI.
The error we are getting is Message Expired in soap ui and PI logs.
When I checked the execution time it says 301165 ms from soap ui.
The default setting of XI is 180000 ms i.e 3 mins.
I configured channel specific time out in both sender and receiver channels. Now the configuration has timeout of 600000 ms. Below is the screen shot.
    SENDER:
    RECEIVER:
But still the message is getting timed out and below is the error:
Unable to contact target server XXXXXXXX:8000 after 1 tries.
Below is the error log from PI :
Please suggest the solution. I am not sure whether its actually  taking the specific configured time.
    Thanks,

  • Time out configuration in SAP ME

Hi, I would like to know how to define the time out in ME ? Is it something we can configure or is it a default value we cannot change ?
    Thanks for Help,
    Michaël.

    Michael,
okay, now I see what you need. It is HTTP session timeout for /manufacturing web-module, as far as I understand. It is set to 30 min by default and can be changed, though I never heard about any recommendations to do so. Hence, it will be up to you to try adjusting this setting.
You can check/modify timeout in Netweaver Administrator -> Configuration Management -> Infrastructure -> Application Modules. Find Web Module called "manufacturing", and below, in Web Module Details, go to Context tab. There is a Session Timeout parameter, it is 30 by default, though you can try and change it to something else (e.g. for manufacturing-services it is set to 60 by default).

  • Problem with Synchronous abap proxy time out

    Hi there.
    I have the following scenario:
                      sync                   sync
    3rd party <-->  PI    <--
    >  ERP
                       http                    abap proxy
In the implementing class on the abap proxy i'm calling an standard BAPI, followed by a commit and returning the result.
The 3rd party app has a mechanism that when a message fails, he'll retry each 5 mins until it gets the response.
Last night there where some delays on ERP that cause the sync mesages to timeout, the 3rd party retried about 10 times to send the message until it finally went off. This morning i check and i have the same message 11 times on ERP!!, to my understanding if the sync comm timed out the process will abort and  the message will not be processed on ERP, does anybody knows if im missing some configuration for this to work this way??.
    Kind Regards,
    Roberto.

    Hi Roberto.
There are a lot of time out configures in PI .

If you still keep this problem, you can ask me more about it.

  • Time out function in VISA configure serial port vi

I have some doubts regarding the time out functionality of "VISA configure serial port vi":
    1) I have set the time out value as 10s while initializing the port using this vi. Does this mean that for any Rx operation happening on the serial port, it will wait for 10s for the data to be received?
    2) Is this waiting functionality also valid on "bytes at port" vi which I am using before reading the port data?
Because in my application, the control at serial port is actually not waiting for 10s and is coming out before the desired time out (10s). Do I need to set this time out anywhere else apart from initialization at "VISA configure serial port vi"??
Can anyone please tell the steps to set this timeout for the serial port?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. A read will return when the first of the following is satisfied:
       a. The number of bytes at byte count has been received.
       b. The termination character (if enabled) has been received.
       c. An error is detected.
       d. The timeout time has elapsed.
I am not sure what happens if handshaking is enabled and the other device pauses communication.
    2. No. Bytes at port returns immediately. This is a status check and it would not make sense for a timeout to apply.
Without seeing your code and the data the remote device is sending, we can only guess. My first guess would be that you have termination characters enabled (default) and a termination character appears in your data.

  • Iview time-out on EP6 SP2

Hi we are running EP6 SP2 on AIX 5.2 64bit and Oracle database - we are currently experiencing problems with an iview that times-out. The iview is under "User Administration" and we are trying to assign users to a Group. The number of users in this group is at the moment around 2200.
    Thank you

    In the content administration.
There is a setting on the page called Page Timeout.
Try setting this a bit higher.
Well a lot higher since it is in milliseconds.

    Hi.
Try to connect to sapserv2 instead, with IP address 194.39.131.34, port 99.
You can change these settings in t-code OSS1 -> Parameter -> Techincal settings.
Also, are you sure that the necessary ports are open in your firewall:
    <Customer SAProuter> -> 194.39.131.34:3299/tcp
    194.39.131.34 -> <Customer SAProuter>:3299/tcp
    <Customer SAProuter> -> 194.39.131.34:icmp (echo-reply, type 0)
    194.39.131.34 -> <Customer SAProuter>:icmp (echo-request, type 8)
See SAP Note 48243 for details.

  • Configurable parameter of ccBPM for time out

    Hi,
We are using ccBPM for collection files based on some correlation and we have set-up  a deadline branch for a particular time interval to collect files.
We want to set the time out parameter as aconfigurable parameter so that everytime we dont need to touch ccBPM and can make changes in ID.
i have tried using this but in deadline branch I can only define numeric value..
Could you please tell me if we have any other way to implement this or we cannot use configurable parameter for deadline branch time duration?
    Thanks in Advance
    Best Regards,
    Harleen Kaur Chadha

    Hi Harleen Kaur Chadha,
I understand your requirement is to collect messages for particular time period (like standard pattern BpmPatternCollectTime). And, if this time period changes, you want implement the changes without editing ccBPM.
As far as I know, it is not possible. I do not recommend you to think about it, because, the time duration for which messages should be collected will not change every day in actual business scenario. I guess once you define time period based on business and technical details, it will be constant. Letu2019s say if it changes once in a blue moon, then edit the ccBPM. If you want more control on size of message getting collected you can combine these patterns [Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/08/16163ff8519a06e10000000a114084/frameset.htm ]

  • How to configure inactivity time out in 11i for external DMZ server

    Hi All,
We are currenlty enablling DMZ functionality for some of internet applications. Generally a user will travel through Oracle Portal to access these applications.
We want to set a seperate inactivity time out for user comming via external server. We manage to do this for Portal and SSO. But enable to find one for ebusiness suite. The idea is if a user access these applications from pulic PC and fogot to log out then if the system doesn't time out in 5-10 mins then it raise a risk of access to application by unautherized users.
Any advise on this will be of great help.
Incase this is no the right forum for these questions then if you know please advise where to direct this query.
    Regards,
    Navin

    Hi Hussien,
Thanks for the quick notes, The challange we have is most of these setups are common for both external and internal servers. Change in one will impact the behaviour for others. What we are looking at is some thing like this. Unless I am missing some thing here.
User login using external server over DMZ will time out in 10 mins assessing an application (i.e. Employee self service) where in if the same user access the same application using internal server then the session can be alive for say 60 mins.
Do you think I am thinking on the right track. or am i missing any point here

  • RCA Connection Pool idle Time-Out takes no effect !

    My question description goes here.
According to JCA specification, I developed my 'ManagedConnectionImpl' class from the interface 'ManagedConnection'. I realize the 'destroy()' function to send out logout request to the EIS.
Then I deployed the connector in Sun Java System Application Server, I noticed there are two parameters in Connection Pool part, they are:
    1. Idle Timeout. It said it's the maximum time that a connection can remain idle in the pool. I assume the connection will be removed after the specific time expired and before it's removed it will call the recallable function, 'destroy()', in my concrete class, 'ManagedConnectionImpl'.
    2. Pool Resize Quantity. it said it's number of connections to be removed when pool idle time expired.
I am weird about it. I think EIS had itself session control strategy, if the specific session time-out expired, it will invalidate this session. So I think we will set 'Idle Timeout' in application server to be shorter than the EIS session time-out. If the 'Idle Timeout' in application server expired, it should remove all connections inside otherwise maybe the connection with invalid session will exist! (the background knowledge is our system will return back soap fault when it meets invalid session, so the invalid connections will not be removed by switching on your configuration item, 'On Any Failure')
So I set "inital and minimum pool size" to 8, "maximum pool size" to 32 and "Pool Resize Quantity" to 32. (I expect AS to remove all when pool idle time expired)
After deploying, I send out requests at the first round and wait for the time expired but I can't see the desired logout requests from pool automatically even one. Firstly I guess if my recallable function definition is wrong but when I shut down the Application Server, the desired logout requests are sent out from pool automatically. So I think my recallable function definition is workable.
    What's your comments on it?
    P.S.
I am using Sun Java System Application Server 8.1.
    Thanks in advance!

Whether it's related with the initial and minimum number parameter? Although I found it will not be created during AS start-up and will be created at the first request.
Whether it shall be kept to meet the minimum requirement? I have failed to set it to 0.

  • Session time out app store

I keep getting session time out whenever I try to purchase apps on iPhone 5. It keeps asking me to verify my credit card security number and then when I click DONE, it tells me session time out. Anyone can help?

Having problem with internet connectivity on WIFI - anything that depends on DNS for data whether it is a web browser or an app while using WIFI.  I call this problem "WIFI Lockout".
This happens on iphone 4, ipad 2 and ipad 3 that has been updated to iOS 6.
I am not talking about the issue of the missing apple page (day 1) or the inability to turn on/configure WIFI after updating to iOS 6.
This is what i have discovered so far.
You could be in the middle of surfing or using any app that makes data calls based on DNS (when you type google.com that is translated in the background so your device knows where to go - summary only) and suddenly you can go no where or do nothing!
Sometimes conectivity goes trouble free for long periods, other times it is repetitive "WIFI Lockout".
Yea sure, you can restart the WIFI connection, but WHO wants to CONTINUALLY do that?
Interestingly enought the device is still successfully connected to the internet via WIFI, but DNS request fail to pass successfully from the iOS 6 device.
Apple (or any curious iOS 6 user that wants to see my point), when this happens "WIFI Lockout" open up a browser before you reset the WIFI  connection and type type 74.125.227.144 (google) and then “go” (I tried both safari and chrome).  A google search page will come up and you will be able to execute a search (of course any link you click on will not work as it is dependant on DNS resolution).
The above IP connection to google proves NON DNS traffic works, so the issue is not the WIFI connection to the access point that is the problem.  It is not an access point configuration/firmware or security protocol issue either because data does pass when the above steps are followed.
I KNOW THIS IS NOT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH iOS 6, BUT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM NOT BEING ABLE TO SURF OR GET DATA THE iOS 6 DEVICE IS REQUESTING WHILE ON WIFI.
