TIME_OUT error while trying to execute a report

Hi all,
When I try to exceute a Z report using a particular variant, it displays the output.
However, when another person tries to run the same Z report using the same variant, it gives a TIME_OUT error.
ABAP runtime errors TIME_OUT
Time limit exceeded.
Please let me know the reason for this.

Hi Anishur,
Is the TIME OUT occuring on the same client as you are running the report? And if so, does the user have the same authorisation as you? The TIME OUT will occur if the program is handling more data, if you are seeing different performance it will be down to the amount of data process.
As others have suggested, look at improving the performance of the report.

First of all I'm delighted that the scheduling itself is now working.
In reply to your other concern regarding lost database connections when attempting to open the scheduled results, a couple of things come to mind.
Firstly, what version of the application server are you using?
Have you raised a service request with Oracle? If so, can you tell me what they said.
Have you recently upgraded to 10.1.2.2 by any chance? If so, you definitely need to be aware that a new preference has come into play which could muck things up. The clue is to look at the SQL that Discoverer is generating. Do you see a line at the top of the code saying NOREWRITE? If so, we need to stop this by doing the following:
1. Add the following parameter to the preference file in the c:/oracle/BIHome_1/discoverer/util/pref.txt under the [Database] section
UseNoRewriteHint = 0
Note: the preference is all one phrase with upper case characters at the beginning of each word
2. The beginning of the section should look like this:
[Database]
UseNoRewriteHint = 0 # speeds performance and stops lost connections
3. Double click the applypreferences.bat or run applypreferences.sh (if on Unix or Linux) to save the changes.
4. Restart the Discoverer services and test.
The next thing that comes to mind is hidden Group Sorts. I've recently had a situation where these can cause a loss of database connections. Do you have any of these in the offerning workbook?
Mull over the above and let me know your findings.

JCO.Server Error while trying to execute a RFC program from SAP

Hi,
We are connecting to an external registered server program from SAP via Web Methods.
The external server program is registered with the SAP Gateway. We have created a TCP/IP RFC destination and are able to connect to the destination successfully via SM59.
An RFC function is created in SAP and is called using the syntax CALL FUNCTION "/NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS" DESTINATION 'PRDB2B'. We have also handled the COMM_FALIURE and SYSTEM_FALIURE exceptions in the function call.
We are monitoring the gateway via SMGW and see a connection log to the RFC destination as below
Number - 10
LUname - dev01
TPName - sapgw00
User - KRAORANE
Status - CONNECTED
Symbolic - PRDB2B
Conversation - 86520353
Prot - REG
SAP return code - 0
CPIC rtn code - 0
The external program returns results as expected.
However sometimes the RFC fails and returns the message JCO.Server could not create server function /NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS.
We are not able to figure what exactly is causing this error. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Error while trying to execute program in OBPM Studio workspace

Hi All,
I installed OBPM and tried to execute a sample program using workspace. I could see the below error.
The Process '/SampleProcess#Default-1.0' is not available.
The Process '/SampleProcess#Default-1.0' is not available. Caused by: Process '/SampleProcess#Default-1.0' not available. Caused by: Engine 'SampleSepVar' cannot process requests.
The same is the case, when I tried to work on Expense managenenent(the sample application provided by Oracle).
Can some one help me?

Error while trying to schedule a report

Dear all,
I was trying to schedual a report and I got the following error:
ORA-04063: pakage body "EUL_TEST.EUL5_BATCH_USER" has errors
ORA-06508: PL\SQL: could not find program unit being called "EUL_TEST.EUL5_BATCH_USER"
where EUL_TEST is the user that I logged in with
I tried to compile the package to check the errors I got those errors:
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
It seems to be a priviledges problem ... am I right?
can you tell me what are the required privilidges to schedule a worksheet

Getting "Could not Import Universe" error while trying to refresh a Report

Hi,
When we are trying to refresh a report in ZABO in production environment, we are getting an error "Could not import universe".
We are able to import all other universes and refresh all other reports thru ZABO.
Even these reports that are dependent on this universe are getting refreshed in Infoview and Full client. We are continuously facing this issue in ZABO.
We tried the following steps but it did not fix the problem.
1) Go to Tools -> Universes; Select the Universe to be imported and click on "Import" - Result: An error stating "Cannot find Universe".
Click on "Refresh" button and then on "Import" again.
Still the same error " Cannot find Universe"
2) Click on "Data manager" after opening the report. Go to 'Definition' tab -> click on "..." - Result: "Cannot find Universe" error.
3) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Business Objects\Business Objects 6.0\lsi\
Take a backup of .rkey and .lsi files of our gateway server and delete them from that location.Then relogin Infoview and ZABO.
4)Go to Internet Options -> Temporary File Settings -> View Objects.
Delete RptViewerAX class and ZaboCheckandRunControl class and relogin infoview and ZABO.
5) Tried creating a new Document based on that Universe.
6)Publish the universe with a different name and try creating a report based on that.
None of these trials worked out. Please help us to fix this issue.
Note: Our Production environment is reverse proxy enabled that has a time out set to 15 mins at webintelligence level. The Error is being observed with in 2 mins from the refresh process started.

Hi,
Go to CMC, and check the path in file store where this Universe is stored.
Follow this path and check if this universe is present there.
If you have a local copy, you could open and export this by changing the name and try re-pointint one of the reports.
If it works, you could delete the original and rename it to the original Universe.

Windows environment error while trying to execute 16-bit applications.

process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd,null,dir);where cmd[0] is the command e.g. "c:\timeout.exe" and dir is the
working directory e.g. "c:\".
This works fine for 32-bit programs and I can quit them using
process.getErrorStream().close();
process.getInputStream().close();
process.destroy();However, executing 16-bit applications results in a popup error dialog

I can change the execution command to
cmd[0] = "cmd.exe"
cmd[1] = "/C"

cmd.exe not my application!

You could check the EXE file and verify the file format. It's different for 16-bit DOS, 16-bit Windows, and 32-bit programs. 16-bit DOS programs are marked "MZ" at the beginning. 16-bit Windows programs have the same "MZ" at the beginning, but an "NE" (New Executable) marking a little farther down the file. 32-bit programs finally are marked with "MZ" and "PE" (Portable Executable) farther down.

Inspecting the files is tedious, but the only way of doing this without native code. If you want to use native code, you can probably find the process that was spawned by CMD and destroy it separately.

Getting Error while trying to execute SSIS package through sql agent

I have created sql Agent job which runs perfectly on my Pc.
I tried to create anew job on another pc which doesnot have SSIS.
When i tried to run the Job,

Am trying to access MS SSAS data cube from Java through olap4j driver(through msmdpump.dll). I am able to connect , but when I try to execute a query, i am getting the below error: Please help

Hi, I am using a simple program to connect to a RMI server and execute shell script. I use the Runtime.exec aommand to do the same.
The script is sh /tmp/pub/alka/test.sh /tmp/pub/alka/abc/xyz/ul ul
The script when run from the server, gives no errors. But when ran using rthe above method in java, gives errors as follows,

On my Windows environment the JRC export into PDF work perfectly. I know that there are some known issues regarding the usage of JRC on Linux environments. Could this be one of those?

What kind of image do you have in the report?
Do you have -Djava.awt.headless=true specified for the Java JVM option?

The Message Center component is not configured correctly.The "Email Account for Alerting" field isn't specified correctly.Contact your system administrator to fix this

Hi, firstly I would like to ask whether, are you trying to send report URL in an alert mail? If it is so, then you have to configure your SMTP settings in your 'Message Center'. The steps to configure are as below-
To configure the Message Center settings:
1. Select Message Center Management from the drop down list.
Some table cells are blank the first time you install the Oracle Business Activity
Monitoring applications.
2. Click Edit.
3. Enter the mail server machine name or IP address in the SMTP Server Name field.
The mail server must have the capabilities to send email to other SMTP servers
that Active Viewer users specify in their personal settings.
4. Enter an email account including the domain used by the Oracle BAM service in
the Email Account for Alerting field. This is the account that will appear in the
From header of e-mailed alerts.
5. Click Save to save your changes.
6. Restart the Oracle BAM Event Service to make the changes effective.
Let me know if this helps. If this is not the requirement, please mention your requirement precisely.

Error while trying to save a report using Java SDK for CR server 2011

I use the java sdk to update the report database jndi alias and then save the report. While saving the report, the utility throws the following exception. It only happens to 3 reports out of more than 70 reports. What could be the problem with report that is causing this problem ?

The error points to the report using a repository object that it cannot be found. What happens if you try and update the reports using the Crystal Report Designer instead of the SDK?

Error while trying to open crystal report with SAP B1 8.8

    I found one problem when I open my Crystal Report from SAP B1 8.8 then it gives me error like

   This report perfectly work while open in crystal report outside from SAP.

I am using SAP 8.8, PL09, SQL Server 2005, the Crystal Report is working perfectly after import into SAP B1.
However, when i do the same configuration in my customer server, the error message prompt:
