Time out on upgrade

We have an iTouch running 2.0 and went to upgrade when prompted to 2.2.1. It times out every time. The time runs out right as it gets to 248.1 of 248.2 and I am getting pretty iCheesed. Can anyone help please? Oh, and if you can, will you?
Thanks

what are your firewall settings like? sometimes this can cause problems when downloading upgrades, try switching it off while you download (might want to try the same with your anti-virus software).

  • Sign-in request times out during upgrade to iOS7

I have a 4s and just tried to upgrade to iOS 7. It wants me to sign in to iCloud as part of the setup, but the request keeps timing out. I'd prefer not to skip this step but don't know how to get past it.

I just had this happen on my development iPad and can no longer install with my existing development provisioning profile.

  • After upgrading to mountain lion, my ip camera video feeds time out

I've been using my iMacs for a few years to monitor six ip Camera video feeds.  The cameras I use are both FOSCAM and AXIS brands.  I've used a few third party software solutions to do the monitoring, but I could also always use Safari to access a camera at a time by putting that camera's IP address in the address field and logging into the camera.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my video feeds started timing out when using DComplex's IP Camera Viewer, so I thought initially it was strictly an issue with that third party app.  However, I then logged into my cameras using Safari and they timed out as well.  Similarly, when using Axis Camera viewer, my video feeds would time out.  It seems as whatever the issue, it does not affect Firefox, because I can still login and monitor 1 feed at a time using that browser without any timeout issues, and for some odd reason, the FOSCAM only program uFoscam works, but the problem for me with that app is that it only works with Foscam, and not the Axis cameras (besides it's an inferior program to IP Camera Viewer in my opinion as well).
Has anyone encountered this problem and come up with a solution?  I'm thinking it's some sort of plugin or video codec problem, but it's well above my paygrade to figure it out.

I'm having the same problem with both my Vivotek wired network camera and Panasonic wireless network cameras. At first I thought this was an issue with the video framework in Mountain Lion, but if Firefox is working (I haven't tried it yet), it sounds like it may be an objective-c video library that has been changed. It's possible Firefox is using an objective-c interface that calls an objective-c function that isn't called by Safari or IP Camera Viewer, etc., (possibly a function that is on its way to be deprecated) or Firefox could use it's own library that directly calls the video framework.
Could be the Mountain Lion objective-c framework has a buffering issue.
Since this is occuring in both 3rd party software and Apple software, it sounds like it's an Apple issue. 3rd party applications typically utilize the Apple Developer objective-c frameworks to access video frameworks/libraries (for example, MJPEG). Thus, contacting 3rd party developers may not solve the situation (unless they can figure out a temporary bandaid--possibly figuring out the video framework call that Firefox uses and patching their software to do the same (not a simple task), but could still provide more feedback to Apple via their developer status.
Has anyone attempted to record from their cameras via iMovie or Final Cut Pro X HD? I will try mine later tonight to see if it records the hanging. If it does, then it's looking more and more like Apple's the culprit.
My suggestion is for everyone to file a bug report via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • Time-out problems with RV320 (after upgrade from RV042)

    config:
    dual wan
    WAN1: 4G router (DHCP) - approx 25Mbit/ 8Mbit
    WAN2: PPOE (DSL) - 1 Mbit/ 0.2 Mbit
worked with a RV042 before and upgraded to a RV320 now.
    all other things are unchanged.
    3 problems - 2 solved/ not critical - one still open:
    a) not critical:  DHCP Status does not include all devices (changing view - but all-time problem)
I would suspect a software bug.... DHCP itself works perfectly/ IPs are assigned (just not shown in status)
    b) solved (at least for now):  internet connection featured time-outs; after many tries, disabling the SPI in the firewall helped
btw: this only happend for the WAN1 - WAN2 worked  (or is that slow that the additonal wait time did not matter ;-)
    c) very annoying: exchange connection (from Outlook client to external exchange) still has time-outs (mostly the whole mail client hangs/ ends to be restarted).
As soon as I disable WAN1, it works!  But it´s not the LTE WAN itself - switching back to the RV042 does not show the same symptom.
I tried: include IP into local DNS (in general I work with google DNS servers - but changing that does not help either), opening all traffic for teh realevant IPs and disabling the firewall completely.  no positive results....
    thanks for any hints....

I agree with you on a, probably a bug of some sort.
b is an issue I've seen before, and even on similar bandwidth (25/5) on my rv016.  What was able to figure out is that the carrier (ISP) is sending about 4k/sec of ICMP packets to the router, which in turn makes the router think it's under attack so it drops the connection.  As you can tell, disabling the SPI helps.  For me, putting another router in front of my rv016 (on 2 of 3 wans) was my only 'permanent' solution.
c sounds like there's a protocol binding/static route in the rv042 that you need to add to the rv320.  I'd check that first.

  • Firmware upgrade times out (BEFW11S4 v4)

Hi, my firmware upgrade times out everytime and i've read that the only way to get past this is by flash-upgrading the router through this web address ftp.linksys.com/pub/network but the link doesn't work for me and says '550 failed to change directory'. Is there another link i can try or another solution?
    Previous thread: http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&thread.id=122275

    Download Firmware 314 KB...
    Download TFTP Utility...
After downloading the Firmware rename the file(like - befw11s4)...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned.  By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading.  A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Before beginning the download, temporarily disable your antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is required with that swiss cheese for security OS your computer is running.

    Hi
I am done with this project so I won't get too detailed...
Just a few comments. The solution below works if you have 8.01 or so on the controller to start with.
But when I upgraded the controller to 8.5.1 0r 8.6, or reinstalled from scratch, this file was upgraded by itself
and when I tried to execute the RT application in interactive mode, the same thing happened which was
in the final analysis very annoying.
I simply had to replaced  the new version from 8.5.1 of this file with the old version from 8.01 which is quite small.
So to me, this is a bug !
Perhaps caused by an interdependency play between many libraries in my application; but never the less a bug to be fixed.

  • Podcast synchs time out since I upgraded to 7.0.2

I have a 5th Gen IPOD Touch, and recently upgraded it and my ITUNES account to the latest software.  Since then, my podcasts won't synch, or if they do (some do, some don't, sometimes it just times out) they show an error message when I try to play them.  I have the Cloud turned on, and usually synch to 4 podcasts every day.   My PC is a Windows 7 Professional package with all updates current.

You can get the Filterstorm app. Use it to resize your pics to 2048 x 1536 (retina display resolution). It will then fit the screen without further adjustment.

  • Upgrading iOS 4.0 to 4.1 (Connection time out error)

Hello any help will be highly appreciated..
I currently have a 3rd gen iPod Touch 32gb, with iOS 4.0.2 installed and working perfectly. I am now pestered to download and update to the newest version 4.1 every time I sync my iPod, which I have no problem doing..
Problem is every time I agree to download this update iTunes downloads the update then when it has just finished downloading (remains in the "downloads" in itunes folder) appears that it is processing the download, after about 4 minutes of it finsihing downloading and appearing to be processing it gives me an error saying there is a connection time out issue, to check my internet connection and try again.
I have tried at least 1 dozen,or more times to do this. It has done the same thing every time.
It won't let me restore my iPod because when i try to do so it asks me to "Update and Restore" which it cant update! so its pretty frustrating.
The iPod works fine no problems, it just comes to when trying to download this update.
Is there anything I can do? Would I be able to try and update it on another computer?
Thank you for any assistance, im just sick of seeing the "a new ipod update is a vailable, download now?" pop-up every time I plug in the iPod.

    Hello!
Been encountering the same problem for two days, drove me crazy! Tried everything, including disabling the firewall and antivirus but nothing worked, so here is what worked with me:
*If you use Internet Explorer, do the following:*
*First close iTunes then go to Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab and then scroll until you get to the ''Security'' section, uncheck the box that says: Check for server certificate revocation* and now launch iTunes and try again.* Hope this works for you as well!

  • My upgrade to IOS5 for iphone 4 continually times out with error message 3259. Any ideas on why?

My download of ios5 continually times out in itunes, quoting error message 3259. Any ideas why

THIS WAS COPIED FROM A THREAD THAT WORKED FOR ME SO I CAN'T TAKE THE CREDIT
Open notepad as administrator, and direct yourself to:
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
    open the "Hosts" file:
note the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" portion near the bottom. your hosts may be different, and if so, then look for that part specifically. the problem for me, lied within the fact that just before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, there originally was no hash(#) with the space like the rest of the hosts file. This was all I had to fix. After editing and then SAVING the hosts file in notepad I restarted iTunes and the update went through without a hitch!
so if you do not see the hash and space before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, all you have to do is put the #, and then press tab! I hope this works for some of you guys! So just to be clear, that particular line in the file should look like:
    # 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
    good luck!

  • Request time out when creating content database

    Hello,
my problem is, that i cannot create a SharePoint content database via the central administration.
    My Setup is the following:
    SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise Farm
    1x Applikation Server/WFE (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x Database Server MSSQL Server 2012 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
    1x TFS 2013 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
all of them are hosted in the same Hyper-V Environment. It is not the fasted Hyper-V Environment existing on planet earth.
The weirdest part of the problem is, i am able to create a content database via powershell.
I am running in some kind of time out issue related to the IIS and CA of that Applikation Server.
Here is the ULS Log from the failling content database creation via CA

The fact that i am able to create a content database through powershell sorts out permissions problems. I am certain of that because the w3wp.exe and the powershell.exe used for both creations were run under the same user.
The timeout always happens aroud 120 seconds after i started the creation. The creation via powershell takes about 3,5 minutes.
Here for the folks that ask me, why i haven't asked google or bing or some other search engine.
I tried the solutions suggested here
    http://www.sharepointpals.com/post/Error-while-Creating-Web-Application-through-Central-Administration , here
    http://anthonyspiteri.net/sharepoint-2010-web-ui-timeout-creating-web-application-quick-fix/ and here
    http://blogs.ibs.com/Duane.Odum/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=33
which i thought pointed me to the right solution.
But those post unfortunatly didnt worked out.
I also tried to alter the web.config files (i know that isn't recommended or supported, but it didn't change anything so those are back to normal as well)
    So here are my question:
Can you guys help me solve this issue?
Are there any other places where timeouts can be managed or defined?
P.S.: I am new to using this forum. so pls don't crucify me for doing a mistake.
P.S.S: My english is very poor also :D
    With best regards
    Simon

Be careful with settings like these because there may be a much deeper issue at hand. I have had an issue with a customer that manifests itself as a timeout on a site collection. It was very hard to track since it didn't happen frequently. We engaged Microsoft
Support to find out the root cause but all they could point at is a general network issue that pertains to authentication. After digging deeper, we found out that the network issue was caused by a saturated network connectivity to the domain controller that
impacts a site collection when the database is making an authentication call. Keep this solution as more of a quick fix but be sure to conduct a deeper investigation of the real root cause

  • When connected via USB, my Ipod Classic 160GB mounts as a disc drive, then changes to a white drive.  When iTunes automatically opens, it crashes trying to mount and/ or sync.  When it times out, my only choice is to restore, but that doesn't fix problem.

I'm running OS 10.6.8 on my 3.06 GHz iMac Intel Core 2 Duo.   I recently upgraded to iTunes 10.5.2.  I'm not sure when the trouble started but I attempted a restore when the iPod would not play correctly.  It would start to play a file and get stuck on 0 seconds.  If I put the iPod on shufle, it will stall on 0 seconds for 15 seconds or so and then move on to the next track and stall again and so on.   Seemingly randomly, it will play a few tracks but eventually start skipping again.  This will continue until the battery is depleted which is fairly quick since the drive is constantly spinning.
My 160GB iPod Classic after restore attempts now is up to date with 2.0.4. and of course, nothing works as it should and I would say the skipping issue is worse than ever.
When I connect with any of three USB connectors, the iPod mounts to the desktop as a grey/silver disk drive picon exactly like the Macintosh HD picon.   Then Finder will stall for a few minutes- spinning pinwheel.  Somehow, the dock is never affected and I am able to open other applications like Safari or tab through open windows- just no action on the desktop.  Eventually, iTunes automatically opens and Finder becomes responsive again.  At this point the grey drive picon on the desktop becomes a white drive mount picon, but the iPod does not mount in iTunes, yet.  At some point, the iPod attempts to sync, iTunes crashes with the spinning pinwheel and eventually times out and I am prompted to restore the iPod again.  Once restored,  the iPod properly mounts under devices in iTunes and, as I have done this several times, even occasionally changes to the regular iPod picon on the desktop.
I have restored several times going as far a completely deleting iTunes from my iMac, downloading the latest directly from Apple.com, and attempting to restore again, but to no avail.
I have even used the disk utility to verify and/or repair my Macintosh HD and iPod.
It seems lots of folks are going through this ordeal.  Has anyone had any success in fixing the issue, even if only temporarily?

one more detail, after a restore, when I attempt to reload music to the ipod, if I try and move, say, 20 files, the transfer seems to work as it should but then stalls on the last file.  Eventually, the status will change to "Updates Files on (my ipod)" a and suggests the iPod is syncing  even though I have the auto sync feature turned off.
This process eventually works itself out, and seems to take longer relative to the number of files I attempt to transfer.   Once done, howver, if I try and eject and dismount the iPod, iTunes stalls with the spinning pinwheel and I am warned that the iPod is syncing again with the spinning candy cane status bar.     Eventually thisd works itself out and the iPod dismounts from iTunes and the desktop and eventually the iPod is free to disconnect.
Then if I try and play the music I just transfered, the iPod says there is no music loaded.
    Ideas?
