Time remapping issues Premier Elements 11 windows 7 PC

I submitted some clips into my timeline that are about 2 minutes long. I used the remapping tool and specified that the whole clip be played in 10 seconds. It works. The problem I have now is a grayed out clip that follows the remapped clip and plays as a blacked out screen until the next clip comes into play. I am assuming this is the unused time slot from the remapped clip. I have tried to move my clips in front or behind the grayed out clip, and tried deleting and closing the gap. Nothing is working. How do I resolve this issue?

When editing, half way through my program, when DTI is moved when I make a cut, the video on the time line that is visible does not change.
I quiet and started again, and the same happened when I was half way through my program

the other. I change cameras after about 40 seconds.
I am not using a switcher and thanks to adobe, I have no need for that.
I have been using Adobe since Premier Elements 9. Normally I have no
problem. Yesterday this started. It is strange.
I will try to burn a disk and see if it comes out right, if not then I
will try another video. Maybe that will make a difference.
I doubt that would make a difference. My you have an opinion???

Time Stretch in Premier Elements 10 prevents moving of clips in Timeline

Time Stretch in Premier Elements 10: after using it the Icon will not go away and I cannot now click-on and slide clips in the timeline. How can this be resolved?.

Install Error 1935 Adobe Premier Elements 10 Windows 7 64

So Windows 7 looks like it's finishing up installing Premier Elements 10 when I get an error message and Windows rolls back the install. I know others might have had similar issues but I haven't found any sort of solution that works.
I spent about 6 hours trying different things. Trying to use safe mode and running without any extra services through MSconfig.
I even tried reinstalling NET Framework and changing the registry keys (which I wasn't able to do since it won't let me delete the .NET Framework key even with permissions.)
I also downloaded the trial version of Premier elements but it came up with the same error message.
Here is what I keep on getting:
I will be calling the phone support on Monday but I have a feeling they will say it's just something wrong with my computer. Which I don't think is possible because I was able to install the Vegas HD trial and other programs easily enough.

Well I went through that list before. I did try yet another install using all those suggestions. No Dice.
The only thing I can come up with is that I tried to install a really old version of premiere 7 that wasn't able to be installed since it wasn't supported by Windows 7. So maybe that screwed up things?
Either that or I just have severe Registry issues with NET Framework and I can't get those keys fixed. But again I am able to get other programs installed and whatnot.
I have already tried to clean up my registry a few ways.
The only thing I can think of to get this program installed is to do a complete windows 7 reinstall and that would just be a giant pain. But still, I paid good money for this product.
I will wait and contact customer support on Monday.

Premier Elements installation (Windows installer) problem.

I cant install premier elements 12 on my computer, I get a windows installer error message as per the following. I have tried to install the DVD and a downloaded version. Has anyone had (and overcome) the same or similar issues? Many thanks.

Premier Elements 11 Windows installer problems

I am having a problem installing Premier Elements 11on my Windows 8 (64 bit) Laptop. I purchased the Elements Combo pack and when I install Photoshop Elements it works flawlessly. However, when I attemp to install Premier Elements it asks me to choose my installation language then I get an unusual Windows Installer screen and it will not let me advance any further.
This is the Windows Installer screen that pops up after it tries to configure the installation process:

Have there been any reports of a faulty installer with Premier in the Boxed set? Photoshop installed so seamlessly it's odd that this is popping up.

Eitehr your Windows installer is damaged or you run without sufficient user privileges. Run Windows Update to repair the installer and make sure to run as admin. also turn off any security stuff temporarily.

Premier Elements 12C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll

I made installation of Premier Elements 12, but it won't start. Windows says only there is something wrong "C:\Windows\system32\DCIMAN32.dll"

Here's a common solution.
Try running the System File Checker. Click on Start and type cmd in the "Search programs and files" box. Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Once the Command Prompt opens, type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and hit Enter. The System File Checker will start. It might take a while to complete so be patient. Reboot when it has completed and let us know if this helped.

CS5 time remapping issues

I have two problems with Premiere CS5 time remapping causing errors
When I apply a normal speed change using the duration box from the pull down menu, the speed does change and the clip plays fine.
When I apply the time remapping feature from the timeline, the clip either plays at the normal 100%speed and ignores the keyframes or it plays an altogehter different clip.
I am editing HD footage 1920x1080 from a Sony Z1u captured via blackmagic intesity as motion jpeg.
If I change the duration of the clip to 101% the keyframes are applied but the video is choppy and impossible to watch.
The problem is unique to CS5 as far as I can tell, I used CS3 before with the same setup and that function was fine, but I have some avchd footage in this project and so I switched to cs5.

8GB ram
Win 7
1TB system drive
2TB raid 0 data drive.

Thanks for your post Harm. It is good to see that you still troll the forums. You have helped me several times in the past.
Using the blackmagic card solves a couple of problems. ( in theory)
First it gives you a true 1920x1080 video capture instead of of the hdv space.
Secondly the mjpg functions as an intermediate so that the processor does not have to decompress the footage from hdv on the fly, and it takes up less HD space than 8bit uncompressed would.
In addition the BM card allows for HD monitoring on an external HD TV and surround sound system for 5.1 audio.
I have discovered a workaround for the time issue, and that is to apply an affect to the clip and it forces premiere to render the clip and that seems to fix the time issue.
The black magic website probably explains this better than I can. But under CS3 which I moved from a few months ago, the combination really worked well.

Time remapping issue

I have a clip that I want to play at a regular speed and then slow down at the end. When I make keyframes and adjust them in the time remap menu box I am running into problems with it slowing down to the desired speed but then speeding up the last couple of frames. What gives?
PS I have already watched Captain Mench's video....

It's a difficult concept. Your clip is, say, 120 frames, four seconds long. If you change the frame rate to something else, all of those frame must still play. You can get around this at least two different ways. Place your clip in an empty sequence and make your adjustments. Copy and paste only the piece that you want back into your main sequence.
Or you can place one additional time remap keyframe just a few frames before the end of the clip. This forces all of your unused frames to play between the second and final keyframe.

Is there a time remapping issue in After Effects CC?

I use time remapping for mouth animation among other things. I have 15 mouths that I was using with the “toggle hold keyframe” selected and “preserve frame rate when nested” box checked. I had been working for about 12 hours (always replaying each sentence after animating it. Out of nowhere, I went back to check the last sentence I had just animated and it was all messed up - replaced with random mouth shapes - not the ones I chose. Then I went back to the beginning and it changed the first several hundred time remapping key frames to the same shape. I’m freaking now because not only did I lose the work but how do I know that if I redo it it won’t just happen randomly again? I’m using a mid 2010 Mac Pro with 96 GB of ram. Thanks for any info.

Luckily, and I totally forgot this in the moment, I turned on Time Machine that morning after months of having it turned off for hard drive space reasons - and so I’m back in business!

Time remapping issues

Has anyone had this problem?... I open an old FCP file to make some changes, but when I play back the timeline, some sections appear to have been speed up via time remapping. I end up trying to re-edit the whole thing. This has happened on at least 3 occasions.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply with the information about the video properties. If you have AVCHD.avi or H.264.avi, that is not supported by Premiere Elements and will need
to be converted into another format. Although Premiere Elements supports files with video compression specified as AVCHD or H.264 and also supports a file with
an .avi file extension, Premiere Elements does not support a file with AVCHD or H.264 and .avi file extension for the same file.
The answer has been to convert these into another format. You could try to do the conversion from H.264.avi to H.264.mp4 in

Time Capsule issue with backing up Windows partition via Boot Camp

I just bought the macbook pro and time capsule. I set up a 25GB Windows partition using Boot Camp and I have set up a Time Capsule to handle the backups. Time Capsule seems to backup the OSX hard drive partition fine, with the historical versions of the drive displayed correctly. However, with the Windows partition the Time Capsule appears to be backing up any files that change, however there is no version control showing up in Time Machine. In other words, I ONLY see the Windows partitioned drive as backed up in the "Today (Now)" screen. Any historical dates the drive shows up shaded and I cannot access it. Is there a way for Time Machine to manage the Windows partition in the same way as it does for MAC OSX drives?

Why is it so hard?
1000 and 1 times: the drive must have FREE contiguous unfragmented space and some files are blocking and preventing.
Some are able to find and delete, some by booting from another hard drive or OS X DVD to repair and/or run iDefrag.
Or.... backup; erase; and restore.
ie, CLONE your hard drive in both directions. My choice would be SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. They tend to work. Defrag tends to be slow and if there is no backup and there is an error.... well, you'll find out.
Apple error message is badly and poorly worded. Said so for over 3 yrs and it has not changed or improved though.
Paragon CampTune 9.5 $19 is great for Boot Camp. And resizing. And Windows 7 may need 2 or 3x what the base minimums listed. 32-48GB at least to be safe. And those are conservative numbers.

Premiere Pro CS5/Twixtor Time Remapping Issue

Anyway. Right now I am playing with Twixtor and applying the slow motion effect to one of my clips. However, I am experiencing some issues as the more I slow motion certain parts of the clip, the clip as a whole shortens from its original length. Intuitively, I went to my timeline and clicked on the right hand edge and attempted to drag it out in order to extend the clip. However, It won't expand as I thought it would . I know this issue is easily solvable, can somebody lend me a hand?

Your intuition to lengthen the sequence is sound since the plug-in is not able to change the length of sequence as required if you are trying to slow it down. There are a couple of ways to solve this. See this video starting at 3:42:

Unable to resize the Edit window in Premier Elements 11

I am unable to resize the premier elements edit window - it just leaves a trail of images of the edit window on the screen when I try to make the window smaller - It doesn't refresh the desktop behind, no problem using and resizing window in Photoshop Elements 11 installed at the same time and also the organise window is resizeable OK just the edit window a problem - any ideas - I am using Windows 7 64 bit?

Full -Computer spec is - Windows 7 64-bit, 8Mb RAM, Processor Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10 GHz and graphics card AMD/ATI Radeon HD6570 2Gb RAM - Updated windows and Graphics card driver. When rebooted my windows had gone into an Aero theme and worked OK - but putting back to windows classic - problem returned i.e. Organise editor OK but Video Editor with just New Project and no media added resizing window just leaves a trail around the screen. Put back to Aero theme and now OK again. Tried going into System properties / advanced / visual effects / Show windows contents whilst dragging - and turned off but still did not work with Windows classic theme.
So don't know why it is happening but it is at least a work around - thanks for your help.
