I would like to use Mediasource instead of winamp because of the Time Scaling feature and want to run it from my x0 remote control. I have figured out almost all the important keys but need to know what keyboard short cuts will incrementally increase or decrease the Time Scaling.
Thanks,

• Auto scaling takes time to execute the rules

Hi,
I am using the windows azure application. In that I am using the scaling feature provided into the azure portal. Here, I have configured the rule to scale up my web role instance by 1 if CPU load increases up to certain limit. and the reverse rule that for
decrementing the role instance.
However, I tried to increase my system load. and checked the scaling feature. So, here I observed that the rules gets satisfied to auto scale the role instance by 1 but it took around 12-15 min to execute it.
NOTE: I have set the rule checking time duration to 5 min.
Please help me.

Thank you for your response.
But I guess this will not solve my problem. Let me elaborate my problem in detail.
I have a site hosted on azure environment. To make the site performance better we are doing some research out of that one attempt we did is the performance test. So in that we are increasing the load on our site to check how it works with heavy user load.
And we observed that when web roles CPU usage goes beyond 50% then we gets lower response from our site. So get the better performance we have used the scaling feature from azure portal. and configured the rule that if CPU usage goes beyond 50% then scale
up the web role instance. Here, we observed that when CPU usage goes beyond 50% at the same time scaling doesn't triggered and we got lower response from our site and then after 12-15 min scaling rules got executed and at that time CPU usage was around 70%
but the triggered in auto scaling was for the 50% condition. In short we are experiencing delay in executing rule. Please help.

• Time-Scale option and bookmark setting possible on Creative ZEN Vision

Does the ZEN Vision: M 60GB has a time scale option and is it possible to set bookmarks?on songs in this player like in the old CREATIVE Nomad Jukebox 3. As a musician I like this options for exercising and rehearsals.

Theres a bookmark feature, but it needs improvment. Theres is no Time-Scaling, a feature I miss from the Zen Xtra.

• How do you stop published animation speeds scaling with duration?

I'm working on a title effect in Motion 5 for Final Cut Pro X 10.0.1.
It's working very well - apart from the fact that if I change the duration of the Title, it changes the speed of movement of my text. This makes it difficult for users of the effect in Final Cut make the animation speed consistent between various instances of the title. It also means that if tech specs define specific speed in pixels per second, there's no way of setting such values in parameters published in Final Cut Pro X effects.
It currently uses a Throw behaviour - I've published the Throw velocity.
Does anyone know of a different behaviour or animation method that doesn't scale with the length of the generator. Ramp and Rate parameter behaviours don't work (they are time scaled). I can't use keyframes because they scale with time too.

I fixed this by using adding a 'Project Loop End' marker to the end of the effect!
I thought this sort of marker was only needed to prevent clips being time scaled...

• MediaSource 5 for Zen V Plus help on time scal

Help!!! I love the MediaSource and I have left to discover its wonderous powers. Im not sure what I did but the Time Scaling doesnt work anymore. I checked the Help and it advised to keep under the Playback tab on the Settings, to keep Digital playback ticked. I havent touched the settings at all, and its as if the time scaling just turned itself off. Can someone help me out Also , are there any other tricks that I can use on MediaSource :mansurprised:

This happened to me. I think it's merely a case of the device freezing - that's why it appears to be in USB mode. The Zen will need resetting, using the small indented reset button under the power-on switch. Then, hopefully, the computer will recognise it again. If it doesn't, try rebooting the computer. Then try Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> Windows Portable Devices. The player should be listed there. Try disabling it (not uninstalling) and then enabling it again. Hope this helps

• A Petition to ask Creative to update the firmware of the Zen Touch to Include EAX capabiliti

Hi. I have been looking for a new hard dri've MP3 player and am thinking about getting the Zen Touch. But I was unhappy that creative removed the EAX functions that were in their other players. I will be sending this to creative to show them that people do like EAX in the player. If you would like to help me with this you can post and leave your name. Thanks! This was taken off of the creative Zen Extra?s website describing EAX: Customize Your Audio Playback with Innovati've EAX? Technologies Advanced EQ lets you customize your music playback with Equalizer presets or set your own using the 4-band custom equalizer Smart Volume Management? adjusts the playback volume of all the tracks on your playlist so they will remain at the same level without you reaching for the volume control between songs! Time Scaling speeds up or slows down an audio track with no distortion Sleep Timer and Wake to Music Feature Environmental Effects simulate audio environments such as "Concert Hall" or "Arena" Spatialization Effects expand your soundstage
See here: http://eax.creative.com/nomad/ To go to the EAX website to learn some more.
If you look HERE on the little flash demo you can see in the LCD screen of the touch that this picture of the touch HAS EAX. If the touch had EAX and creative removed it just before selling it then it must be easy to put back in.

• Custom Report: Actuals paid by Fiscal Year- multiple Columns

Has anyone created a "time-scaled" InfoMaker report using "actuals paid"? We would like to create a report that shows actual payments made on each project broken down by fiscal year... so a single project may show actuals paid for FY 07-08, FY 08-09, and FY 09-10.. so "Actuals" would appear 3 times on the same report- based, on the approval date.
I know that P6 can do this quite easily, but we are not linking CM to P6 schedule yet.

Yes, I've created many reports of this nature including building a table that can be used to select a specific period for reporting on a given range. Have created these reports in several formats including tabular, crosstab, and graphical (and combinations of those).

• RAM not showing up in system properties

I have 3GB installed on my OLD Windows XP
I have noticed lately that when I checked my System Properties it only says 2GB.
But HWINFO32 shows 3GB
I ran memtest86 to see if my ram was failing but it passed.
Any ideas on why it only shows 2GB.
I have an Nvidia 9800 1024MB graphics card if for some reason that is subtracting from my total.
Thanks: GLenn

I have saved the DXDIAG file and uploaded it.
Does anyone think I should replace the CMOS battery ?
I have not had any problems with my time not working or it turning off and no warnings ?
Also, I have ordered 4 new 1GB Ram sticks so they are all the same speed.
My 2 512's are the slowest and the new ones will be faster then the 2 1GB ones I have there now.
I will pick up a can of air and clean out the unit too since its been over a year since I dusted it off.
Thanks: GLenn

There's no line in record.
is the battery removable?
No.
...does it have clock/sleep/wake, smart volume, or time scaling?
No.
how is the navigation compared to the others?
In what sense? The controls, the UI?... If so, much the same as the others (at least similar to the Micro in respect of the Touchpad), but there's quite a few less features on the Touch as you can see.

• Cs6 user interface too small to use

I have just bought a new laptop with a high resolution screen - 2560x1440 - and like many others, I'm finding that the user interface for my cs6 software is too small to use.
I have just found the following advice for HiDPI devices on Adobe Illustrator Help:
For displays with resolution greater than or equal to 2560*1440, Illustrator can be launched at 1.5 times or 2 times scaled-up UI, depending on the OS text size.
I'm not very computer savvy, and I don't know how to do that - can anybody help please?

• A Challenge For You... (speaker probl

Greetings all,
I recently purchased an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. Installation went smoothly, until I hooked up my recently purchased Logitech z-560 speaker system (4.). The sound is GREAT... as long as you don't mind no sound coming from the right front speaker. I'll run through each of the steps I took while trying to find the problem, and then leave it in the capable minds and hands of the members of this forum - I'm just out of ideas.
Speaker Setup:
Speaker/Headphone selection is currently 4/4. Speakers. I have tried this setting synchronized and unsynchronized with the Control Panel, with no change in the problem. (Note: The problem also exists when I set the speakers to 2/2. - right channel plays through the subwoofer)

Digital output is currently OFF. There are no digital connections on my system. For now.

The Speaker Test window only shows the 4 satellites. The subwoofer is missing from the test window. When I run a speaker test, I get the following results:

Left Front - OK

Right Front - nothing from the right front speaker, but the test IS PLAYED (barely audible) through the subwoofer (!).

Right Rear - OK

Left Rear - OK

No subwoofer test.

Speaker Calibration - same results as above. The raindrop sound effects come through the proper speakers EXCEPT the right front speaker, which instead plays through the subwoofer. The subwoofer itself is missing from the calibration screen.

Bass Management - all settings are grayed out.

Bass Boost - currently DISABLED. No change in problem when it was enabled.

Surround Mixer Settings:
Basic Settings unchanged. No change in problem when any levels were altered.

Advanced: Speaker volumes are all at max. No change in problem when altered.

Creative Diagnostics:
All initial diagnostic tests pass.

Speaker tests result the same as mentioned above.

THX Setup Console:
Speakers set to 4/4. analog output.

Calibration - same problem, but with an additional hitch... only the 4 satellites show up (no subwoofer) on the speaker test screen, with the Left Channel noise coming through clearly. WHEN I SWITCH to right channel, the message "processing" comes up on the screen, followed by "NA". Switching to the rear speakers works properly. A few other notes:

On volume balance adjustment, I have adjustments available for the front left & right and rear left & right speakers. The subwoofer is NOT greyed out, but the box to adjust the subwoofer level is greyed out.

Equalizer is currently DISABLED.
EAX Console:
Audio Effects are DISABLED. No change in problem when they were enabled.

Karaoke is DISABLED. No change in problem when enabled.

CMSS 3D is currently DISABLED. No change in problem when enabled, regardless of which setting I used.

Note: When testing the speakers, the CMSS 3D setting suddenly disables itself and reenables when the test is complete.

Audio Clean-Up is disabled. No change in problem when enabled.

Time Scaling is disabled. No change in problem when enabled.

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro setup:
Card was installed and included drivers installed (5.2.6.402, dated Oct. 2003). Problem appeared. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers (.84.55, May 2005). No change in problem.

I did a "clean sweep" uninstallation following the steps provided on this forum, and reinstalled everything. No change in problem.

Logitech z-560 (THX-cert.) speaker setup:
I have tested all of the satellites and subwoofer separately to make sure they all work - they do.

Speaker wiring has been double & triple checked. No problems (beyond the one that this post deals with).

The subwoofer connects to a control box, which connects to the soundcard via a green & black cable. I have tried altering the cable connections to see what happens during speaker test. This may be totally useless, but here are the results:

Green Cable in Line (correct): Front Right speaker plays through subwoofer. Front Left OK.

Black Cable in Line 2 (correct): Both speakers work properly.

Green Cable in Line 2 (incorrect): Right Rear speaker plays through subwoofer. Left Rear OK.

Black Cable in Line (incorrect): Both speakers work properly.

M3D (phantom center channel) is disabled. When enabled, no change in problem.

Fade settings on control box make no change in problem.

Entire speaker system has been taken down and set up again. No change in problem.

I have done a pretty thorough search through the forums here at Creative and at Logitech as well, and have found no solution.
My sound is in your hands. I will place my system configuration info under my signature. Thank you in advance for all of your assistance.

Hmm, st 4. speakers do not have a dedicated subwoofer channel hence it does not show a subwoofer in the picture, with that said it is odd that the right channel only plays through the subwoofer. It is possible that there may be a jumper problem with the sound card, if there is a jumper area on the sound card that is for front panel headphone and mic connecters (for cases that have them). I'm not sure if audigys have them but I know onboard sound does, anyway there could be a jumper that fell out and could have caused the right channel to stop working to fix that just simply replace the jumper (could be any jumper). One way to tell for sure that its the sound card is to connect some headphones to the back and see if the problem is still there.

• Still can't get realtime temp logging

I have been trying to get a chart showing temperature vs real time of the measurment, for example temperature vs the time (hh:mm:ss) of the measurement
All my graphs start at 7 am 1903. I have seeded the XScale.minimum and XScal.increment properties in the properties node for the chart with the start time of the measurment run. when I do that the x axis initially has the correct real time scaling, but my data does not appear. Only when I check autoscale x axis does my data appear, and then with the y axis at 1903 again.
How do I tell the chart to use the real time of the measurement on the y axis? Using fp2010 with temperature modules and fpread.vi
thanks again

Hi Ben, thanks for the response, and this is directed not just to you, although I certainly appreciate your time.
I'm REAL new to LAbview programming so keep that in mind.
I have several problems to deal with, but one thing at time.
I've included a VI which constantly reads temperature from my FP hardware, only a single channel at a time(one of the problems) and will set the x axis to the current time date at the start of the run, but the data being recorded doesn't appear on the chart unless I "autoscale" the x axis on the graph, and then the data displays with the x axis at 1903. Thats the problem that prompted me to find you guys and seek out tech support.
However, I have other issues with the FP stuff that I'm hoping I can get support for here
Here is a biggy:
When you look at the vi I posted you will see that unlike the Example FP Temp.vi, I found I had to put the Open, Create, Read and Close all inside the loop because if I didn't then the temperature reading I got from Read never changed after the first reading. I realise this is likely adding overhead, however I found I had to Close the FP stuff and redo the Open/Create sequence in order to ensure I got a "fresh" reading from the Read command. If I didn't the reading I got from the Read.vi never changed after the first reading. I didn't get any errors, I just didn't get any new info from the Read.vi
What I'm saying is I never could get the FP Temp Example to work with my hardware., but this vi does work in so much as it reads a new temperature everytime through the loop. Any comments on that would be appreciated.
I'm using FP 2010 with two FP-TC-120s, an FP-RLY-420 and an FP-0A0-210. However at the moment I'm only using (or trying to communicate with) one of the FP-TC-120s, but all of the modules are connected togethor and are showing me POWER/READY indicators. Power up self test appears normal as per the manuals and I beleive the hardware is working nominally.
PC is a windows 2000 pro 866 mhz connected to our 100 Mbps intranet through a hub to which the FP-2010 is also connected.
I have lots of other questions. One I will ask now is where do I find documentation on all the Property node properties for all the controls and indicators. When I go to select properties for a property node on something like a waveform chart there are hundreds of properties listed in the menus. Are these documented somewhere and if so where?
sorry for the length and I appreciate any and all responses.
thanks again.

Hi Hakan,
There were several issues with your VI, and the VI bore very little resemblance to the list of binary header items you included in your first post. I decided to follow the VI instead of the earlier binary header property list. In the VI, I changed the data type of your channel name property zero-padding from I32 to U8. I changed the byte order of your binary header to match the byte order of the bulk data (Big Endian). I also changed the file creation function to "create or replace" so that I culd run the VI multiple times and overwrite the same data file. The DBL that you are writing from the LabVIEW date/time wire is a geography-specific number of seconds since January 1st 1904 (in Greenwich England). I added a routine to the DataPlugin to decode this into a DIAdem geography-independent date/time property based on my current location in the Central time zone. You could instead save a geography-independent DBL in the VI, which would probably be a more robust approach.
I assigned all the header properties to the Channel level, though you probably want to copy them to the Group and/or the File level as well. I suspect that the 3 DBL properties have something to do with the I16 channel vertical scaling or else the time scaling (aquisition rate). We could add that to the DataPlugin as well.

• WCCP redirect on 4507 to ironport

I am trying to setup WCCP on our 4507. For some reason I cannot get this to work! The config I have tried is below. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here!
ip wccp web-cache group-list IRONPORT-GROUPLIST
ip wccp source-interface GigabitEthernet2/24
Interface Vlan160
ip address 10.10.16.1 255.255.254.0

ip access-list IRONPORT-GROUPLIST
permit ip any host 10.11.1.10 (10.11.1.10 is the ironport proxy IP address)
On the ironport I setup web-cache under transparent redirection and provided the IP address I used to source from above (GigabitEthernet2/24). Here is the output I get on the 4507:

I would recommend doing the following. Also feel free to call into the ironport support line. It is listed at the bottom of the page.
Change the wccp service to service-number 90
Try to redirect inbound traffic not outbound traffic.
Set Load-balancing to mask
Set forward method to L2
Set return method to L2
ip wccp 90 group-list IRONPORT-GROUPLIST <- Set the wccp service-number
ip wccp source-interface GigabitEthernet2/24
Interface Vlan160
ip address 10.10.16.1 255.255.254.0
ip wccp 90 redirect out <- Set the WCCP Service-number try to redirect inbound traffic
ip access-list IRONPORT-GROUPLIST
permit ip any host 10.11.1.10 (10.11.1.10 is the ironport proxy IP address)
Below is an example of how you should setup your ironport for a customer service number. Place the port numbers that you want to redirect.
