I cannot initialize planning area.

Question
What goddamn dates should I enter in the planning area initialization start and end to initialize for maximum duration given the settings above?
I tried a few dozens but none is accepted. For a start I tried the same dates as in Horizon of storage bucket profile. But given the kind of error text I have I cannot decipher with tiny little mind what dates I am expected to enter in for time series creation.

Start: 01.02.2013
End Date: 31.12.2014
The fiscal year variant is what I pasted above.
I thought time series can only be initialized for a subset of period in the storage bucket profile !. This is my first experience of this kind where Initialization period is larger than the storage horizon. Is this the case ? I went by the book always and this is just a chance discovery by me.
I was aware of the limitation by SAP notes on need to have one more year on either sides in fiscal year variant for it to be used for initialization and hence the range of dates I tried.
Appreciate your comments on this.
All dates in dd/mm/yyyy.

Hi, Does anyone have any information out there on how to configure the system to pull data for fiscal period for some companies and calendar period for other companies? Or any horror stories about trying to do it that way.

For consolidation as a whole only one fiscal year variant is allowed. However, there is possibility of collecting data of different fiscal year variant and using appropriate currency translation rates as per that units fiscal year variant.
For example, if you have consolidation fiscal year variant as 31st March ending and you have one unit X as fiscal year variant 31st december ending, in this case the 12th period data of consolidation unit X will be translated using exchange rate as on 31st dec and not as on 31st March.

Creating backdated invoices after last date of fiscal period

Hello experts
In our business, it is a rule to keep the billing period open for two days even after the last day of the fiscal period. For example,
P10 ends on 29/10/2011, but that period is not closed until 31/10/2011(P11 date) so that the users can create all the invoices for that month. Please note that period 11 is not opened till 1/11/2011 (after closing p10).
Now,order related invoices are created thru an interface program. The user only sends in the "service date" which is mapped to the fixed value date field in SAP and we have defaulted the system date as the billing date to enable posting. The problem arises for the invoices created on the two days mentioned above as the invoices will not post into accounting if the billing date is 30/10 and 31/10 as P11 is not open yet.
How do i make sure that invoices created on the two month end days post into accounting with a billing date of 29/10 (a P10 date)? I can use the FM- FI_PERIOD_CHECK to check if the billing date is in the open period, but how do i populate the billing date field as an open period date automatically without manually changing it for all the invoices that have not posted?
The service date sent in has to be mapped to the fixed value date field because of aging purposes.

Hi,
Function module FI_PERIOD_CHECK can be included in the program to check if the fiscal period is open or not.
Discuss with the ABAPER and include logic that in case the fiscal period is not open the default date should not be system date. Instead another date which is calculated using the FM - CALCULATE_DATE.
In the FM- CALCULATE_DATE give the logic how the date should be calculated.
Discuss with ABAPER for this.

         I have a particular query in which posting period and fiscal year are the characteristic variables(mandatory and single values) . I have to define Rolling Year To Date variable/ User exit such that when the user enters posing period and fiscal year query has to fetch previous 12 periods data from the cube..
       If posting period is 005 and fiscal year is 2007 then the output for a particular balance Keyfigure has to be from 005-2007 to 006-2006.
     The thing is we dont have Fiscal period defined in the cube . One possible solution is Using the Offsets if we are are goin to offset on the previous 12 periods, is the query going to fetch the correct values.
    Other thing we can think of is user exits can some one share the logic regarding this... if we have to user the user exits. Promise to award full points.

Since you have posting period and fiscal year separately, you need not think of going for an exit. You can simply use offsets on both so that they will fetch right data. Since there are two separate objects offsets should fetch correct data. Go ahead with offsets.....

What is the easiest way to get time stamped wvm data with AI samp Ch Vi?

The AI sample channel VI only outputs single point waveform data which is making it a beast for me to get my input data into XY graphs. I have been trying to combine the data with a elapsed time clcok so I can synchronize all my inputs but it isnt working too great. All this stuff is in a while loop also, so that gives me trouble. Basically I just want to make an XY graph from both AI inputs.

Tim, no problem. I have attached the modified code that displays the readings from both devices on the same plot. I used a chart instead of an XY graph since it is much easier to use (it keeps track of elapsed time for you if you know the amount of time in between data points - and since the loop time is fixed we do know that). If this time were to change, then we would have to re-create the X-axis (time) and the XY graph would be necessary. One other note - the code that reads the values from the DAQ cards will not execute at exactly the same time, therefore the data will not be acquired at exactly the same time, though it will be close. Therefore, if your application requires these readings to be dead on together in time down to the mi
crosecond for example, then you would have to synch the two devices via hardware. Let me know if you intend to do that and I can steer you in the right direction. Hope this helps.

I do not take time to match data with the PC time

I have a question and do not know why I did not coincide with the time that stores a data graph with the time at which the data is stored on the PC should be every 0.5s and there values are 0 almost, 46s between data and information.

By the way why do not load the stage number and always reads 0?

I modified my vi.la simulation signal at 10 Hz and period 0.1s.
Where I have the problem is that when the pc was not increased in 0.1s.When the while loop period is 0.1s.

How to display time duration (NOT dates) with an input mask in a JTable?

Background: I am trying to display in a JTable, in two columns, the start position and time duration of an audio clip.
They are stored as type float internally eg. startPosition = 72.7 seconds.
However I wish to display on screen in the table in HH:mm:ss:S format. eg. 00:01:12:7. The user can edit the cell and input values to update the internal member fields.
Problem: I am finding it very difficult to implement this - what with the interactions of MaskFormatter, DefaultCellEditor etc.
Also using SimpleDateFormat and DateFormatter does not work as they insist on displaying the day, month, year also in the table cell.
Taking the Swing Tutorial TableFTFEditDemo example as a template,

does anyone know how to do this?
I can post my (buggy) modifications to the example code - if it would help.

How to use a BW Time-dependent Master Data with a UNX

Hello All,
I would like to use a BW master data which is time-dependant with WebIntelligence.
My WebI query is based on a universe (not on a Bex Query). It seems that a relational universe des not support time dependent object.
Has someone found a work-around to use these objects with an UNX ?
BI platform = BI4.0 SP4.

Load Test Results - time series request data for by URL in VS2013

I am trying to figure out how to export and then analyze the results of a load test, but after the test is over it seems I cannot find the data for each individual request by url. This data shows during the load test itself, but after it is over it seems
as if that data is no longer accessible and all I can find are totals. The data that I want is under the "Page response time" graph on the graphs window during the test. I know this is not the response time for every single request and is probably
averaged, but that would suffice for the calculations I want to make.
I have looked in the database on my local machine (LoadTest2010, where all of the summary data is stored) and I cannot find the data I'm looking for.
My goal is to plot (probably in excel) each request url against the user load and analyze the slope of the response time averages to determine which requests scale the worst (and best). During the load test I can see this data and get a visual idea but when
it ends I cannot seem to find it to export.
A) Can this data be exported from within visual studio? Is there a setting required to make VS persist this data to the database? I have, from under Run Settings, the "Results" section "Timing Details Storage" set to "All individual
details" and the Storage Type set to "Database".
B) If this data isn't available from within VS, is it in any of the tables in the LoadTest2010 database where all of the summary data is stored?

Since the load test is used to
simulate many users accessing a server at the same time, it is mainly verify a wev server load stress.
As you said that you want to find the data
for each individual request by url, I know that generally we can analyze the url request from the Summary like the following screen shot.

SQL Tracing Connect String in the Run Setting properties to trace the data.

And also my reports should also be able to drill through and needs comparison years(Prev Year Vs Current Year), months(Prev Year Vs Current Year) and Qtrs(Prev Year Vs Current Year).

Time series chart doesn't work

I am trying to create a simple time series chart, plotting five time series over a 5 year period. I have a table with the time series in rows, but when I select the chart to graph it, the data appears as if the time series is in the columns! Then, when I re-created the chart with the data in the columns and selected it, it created the same chart! I tried "transposing" the columns and rows as the "Help" command suggested, by going into the "Data Series" box, but it won't accept any input in the box. Help.

(1) Before charting time or duration values, I convert them as decimal numbers representing a decimal number of days (you may choose a decimal number of hours or a decimal number of minutes).
Here is what I get.
It appears that the chart tool defaults to the orientation where there is the greater number of values.
This is the case for Graphique 1 and for Graphique 2
Clicking on the orientation button I may change the behavior accordingly as I did for Graphique 1 rotate and Graphique 2 rotate.
I don't see any oddity here.
Just for info, to build the transposed tables, I didn't used the TRANSPOSE() function but formulas like:

fill down, fill right

Fiscal Period is not working on weekly level

Hello,
I am building this query where users can use the fiscal period on the weekly level. We do have weekly variant maintained in 0fiscvarnt. Problem is every time I execute the query on weekly level its doesnt not bring in any data but if I execute the query on period level, it brings in tons of data.
Example: if I execute the query with the following setting it would not bring in any data.
Fiscal period: 001/2008 - 052/2008
fiscal period variant: AB (weekly based, 001 - 053)
If I execute the with following settings it would bring lots of data.
Fiscal Period: 001/2008 - 012/2008
Fiscal period variant: YZ (Month based, 4-4-5)
Addition to that, there is no data available in the cube for fiscal variant:AB (weekly based).
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

what you can do is :
For reporting based on fiscal month periods create a cube and populate it.
Put in the time dimension all 0Fisc* infoobjects.
Do the same for weeks.
So --> 2 cubes : one with fiscal variant month, the other with weeks.
let's say Cubefiscweek and Cubefiscmonth
In order to convert to fiscal periods base on a date you have some standard function like date_to_period_convert.
For example you have the day of transaction purchasing or sales take the date and convert it in the transformation with a routine.
One important setting :
Make sure you retrieved the global settings form source system regarding the fiscal periods.
Maintain the fiscal variant in tx ob29 or gvar for the week variant and the month variants.
Maybe this tasks is already done in source system so you just need to recover the global setting in BW. Check if tables T009x are maintained (the one that is important is t009b)
If they are not maintained ask a functional to give the repartition.

Report for printing actuals for a fiscal period

i have a report which prints the actuals for a fiscal year . Its like each country has their own fiscal year representation , The report is currently printing the data based on its own fiscal year representation , i have to modify the report and want it to print based on US(sep-aug) fiscal representation .. like for example for india its printing with may as fiscal period 1 , instead i want to print it with may data as fiscal period 9 and to print the data from sep-aug for all countries. I dont understand how to give the select statement and how to proceed with this. I appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

You can do this using a process chain and ABAP program.
1. Create one process chain and create abap program, include in it. Scedule this chain every day.
Write a code in this ABAP program to check last day of fiscal period and to raise an event to execute 2 process chain or infopackge.
From system date find currect period
(Use FM : DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT).
Find last day of period(Use FM : LAST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET)
Check system date(sy-datum) is equal to last day of period then you can raise an event(Use FM : BP_RAISE_EVENT).
Use this event to schedule 2nd chains(contains infopackage) or direct scheduling of infopackage.
You can create event at : SM62.
