Time sheet customizing

Hi,
We are currently using CATS for posting time through Portal(7.0). The users are not too happy about the UI.
Is it possible to
1)modify the Ui to make it more user friendly
2)Is there a feature to copy previous weeks time sheet to current instead of having to enter every day

Hello,
I have similar requirement. We are using Time entry iView WD Java application.
My requirement is to save the time sheet with working hours as template. So that, same template can be used for the future time entries. I can see the option to save the the data entry screen as template w/o working times(saving only Att/abs type).
Can this functionality attained through Time sheet configuration? I have verified CAC1 but did not find anything related to my requirement.
What are the other options I have? Any help greatly appreciated.

Dropdown Custom Field in CATS Time Sheet in ESS

I have added a custom field in CAT2 transaction with drop down values from the custom table. When I log on to ESS I was not able to see the dropdown in timesheet for that field. I am able to configure the field to have a search help dialog box.
Let me know how can I configure the field to show dropdown values in time sheet in ESS? Appreciate your replies.

How to add customized column in the time sheet CATS (transaction CAT2) ?

Hello,
I need to be able to add some columns in the time sheet CAT2 containing:
- the name and first name of the person (in addition of the number), in display mode in the CATS time sheet.
- a text that I will found by reading some tables and values...
Does anyone have any idea how to do so ? and if it's possible or not?

Thanks a lot, it's really help...don't know why I didn't see this customized point before in SPRO.
But I have an other issue, my new fields is added in the CATS screen and now I'm trying to put default value by using the user exit of extension CATS0009.
When I complete the value of my new fields in structure CATSD_IMP, there are not taking into account and the CATS screen doesn't display the value.
Am I using the wrong table ? wrong user-exit ? or my code ..

Save & Release of Time Sheet in ESS.

Hi all,
The requirement is to provide two options after reviewing the time sheet in ESS, first one as per standard 'SAVE' which will save the time sheet (then employee will release later) and second one is customized one 'SAVE & RELEASE' which will save the timesheet as well as release it on a single instance.
Tried with profile in TCATS Table (Release while Save), but it releases the time sheet on both options.
Then created a custom RFC calling both SAVE and RELEASE RFCs subsequently.
But that is also not working.
So, if any of you came across similar issue. Please guide me on solving this.

But our requirement is to provide two buttons one for 'SAVE' and another for 'SAVE & RELEASE' in same page.

SAP ECC 6.0.

ESS Time Sheet - Print button missing

Hi all,
Refering to the thread "ESS Record Working Time - Print button gone in latest release?" (), has anyone actually managed to solve this in an (for the customer) acceptable way?
Even though SAP for some reason desided to take the print functionality away for the time sheets, the customer still wants to print... So, if anyone out there know a decent solution, please share your knowledge! I´m in desperate need of help.

Data Entry Profile for Time Sheet Entry on Internet / Intranet

hello gurus,
i am trying to configure Time sheet entry on portal via internet / intranet. I did come across articles on it but am confused as to how to create Date Entry Profile as it seems to be the first step in configuring the time sheet.
Also mt OT calculation shud be based on the hrs input in the time sheet. How can this be achieved

At a very high level you will need to:
1. Create the Data Entry Profiles. These are the templates that employees see when they go into their timesheet, and there are lots of options depending on what other modules and/or further processing is required for the time entries.

Help creating time worked field on time sheet.

I am new to acrobat. I am creating a time sheet submittable form. I have start time fields and end time fields and now i need a field that calculates total time worked in hours. I could do this using military time except that in the calculations tab in field properties there is no subtraction calculaton option, just addition. Is there anyway to acomplish this by writing a script? I know nothing abiut writing scripts, PLEASE HELP.

You need to use JavaScript to write the custom JavaScript Code. You can convert the time string to a JS data object and do the math at milliseconds.
You can split the time string into hours and minutes, convert the hours to minutes and add to the minutes, do the math in minutes and finally convert the minutes back into hours and minutes.
Since you will be repeating the math for each day, I would look at creating a function to convert the time string cell to minutes for the computation.
There can be problems with leading zeros and no separator symbols since the Number format strips the leading zeros from number character strings.

Time Sheet Approval Collision

hi,
Im currently using standard java webdynpro fro Timesheet Approval in MSS.
I have issue when manager is approving the Timehsheetim not getting the Collision error messages for the employee.
Eg:
Employees submitted as work for 01.12.2010 to 5.10 2010 in Timesheet.
Same time Employee Submitted Leave for 02.12.2010 ,now Manager Approved and leave Got Posted.
Now when Manager tries to approve the timesheet manager is supposed to receive collision messages it is not happening.
However after timehsheet approval when it gets posted automatically we get collision error messages.
Now we would like to have the collisions messages durng approval step.
Is there any customizing we can achieve this.

This option woukld reduce the collsion error during Time Sheet Request Step.
I would like have the Timesheet Validation during approval step also.
The Reason is refer the previous example.
Please suggest if you find some badi or some work around for this.

U can add lov for standard page in various methods ,but the best approach is customization.
---In Time sheet page create one stacklayoutRN via personalization.
---Then come to jdev right clik on jpr create new region in that region create lovitem.
---In lov.server create lov region,lovvo,lovam all the componenets in custom package.
---set properties for Lov rn and lov item.
---Move these components to server and run import command for lovregion.
---Extend stacklayoutRN with custom region.
set propery Extend: custom region eg:xxx.oracle.apps.po.msg.webui.customRN
---Apply
u can achive this by co extension also.

Why is my Time Sheet not working on Android Readers?

I have a Time Sheet with Javascript that adds the times up, and it works perfect with the PC version of Adobe Reader, but when I try to use it on a nexus 7 tablet the calculations don't work.
I have tried the official Adobe Reader for Android as well as about a dozen other readers. If there is a reader that will work with this sheet as is, I don't mind paying for it, or perhaps part of my JavaScript is not supported on mobile, and I can change it with a workaround.

Activity type in time sheet

Hi all,
In PS we donu2019t capture any cost. In such case, While entering timesheet, the system through an error message, to enter sender Activity type and it is not allowing to enter timesheet.
Now, what should be done to skip entering activity type and enter timesheet without entering activity type?
I guess it is controlled through work center, by not maintaining costing tab, but the system does not allow to save the work center without entering the cost center under costing tab.
Please suggest, in entering time sheet without activity type

Hi,
Go to --> SPRO --> Cross Application Components --> Time Sheet --> Settings for all User Interfaces --> Time Recording --> Choose Fields -->Data Entry section --> Activity types
Double click and in reference to data entry profiles we can restrict the entry for the activity type whether it is required / Display / Hide / Input.
Check and confirm whether the problem is solved

Error while approving time sheet "Internal Error Occurred"

1) Time Sheet entry done for an employee b/w 3rd-5th Oct 2011, while approving it through T code - CATS_APPR_LITE, its giving the error " INTERNAL ERROR OCCURRED" !!!
When the error is expanded, the below details have come up.
Internal error occurred
Message no. LR030
Diagnosis
The system has detected an internal program error which should not have occurred in a normal program run.
Procedure
To safeguard your data, notify the SAP hotline.
2) Please let us know, is there any other procedure or way to approve the time sheets ???

Well, you do not say if you have a database to work from, so if not, start with excel.
You can create a fairly simple table in the example below DATE is at A1, in A2, Out A3
first date at B1, Sign in at B2, and Sign Out at B3, etc...

Right click in the details section, and select Format with multiple columns.   At the top right you should see a layout tab now.
click on the layout tab, select a detail size of 1 inch (or whatever fits on your paper)   also select a printing direction of
across then down.
Preview your report,   You can add other columns as needed...   Hope this gives you a good start.
