Time-shift feature in camera ?

Basically I can't find it. I tried using the camera the other night, in a well-lit room I hasten to add, and it seemed very reluctant to take a picture. Pressing the square thing just caused it to focus the image, and only occasionally would it decide to actually take the picture. Couldn't find an option anywhere in the settings to use the time-shift thing they've been showing off. Also, turning on the flash didn't appear to actually turn it on, just carried on as before using available light, so for some reason was unable to use the flash as well.

Look again. And remember if you have the front facing camera, neither timeshft nor flash settings are available.

Feature request Camera Shot--Shot listing

Hi Guys.
Not sure what is the best way to explain this but I'll give it a shot.
When you are shot listing, Story gives each new shot a number, which is great, but there are times when you have to disable the numbering check box because you want to manually number the shot. Lets say you have a steadicam shot and you want to be specific about where the camera is in relation to certain lines in the script, you will start the first beat of the shot as shot 10 and each time you enter new camera information, but want to keep that as shot 10 because it's one continuous shot, so you disable the numbering and you writing in, "shot 10 cont'd for all the beats you want."
Now what happens if later on you added a shot above shot 10? Story turns shot 10 into shot 11 in the number sequence, which is great, but all the beats you manually put in have the incorrect numbering. You will have shot 11, then below it, shot 10 cont'd for all the beats of that steadicam shot.
So what I'm proposing is that in the Camera Shot function, where the check box is to disable the automatic number assignment if you can add a cont'd check box, so you can tell the program remember that this shot is a continuation of shot 10, so even if I add a shot before shot 10, the program will able to track that change and change the 10 cont'd to 11 cont'd as too.
Does that make sense??

This makes sense and we will be augmenting this feature to support different kinds of shots in the coming months. We'll surely pick this up as well.

Extended Meta data date / time shift

Up to know it seems that Lightroom 3 can only enter a new date / time for the Meta data creation / change / modify values. Or it can shift the time in 1 hours steps to correct time zone problems whitin a define +/- range.
Now imagine about that I have image files from different cameras about the same event and the internal camera time is not the same at all camera, means, than e.g. one camera time is 20 minutes late (-20 min) compared to another camera. Of course, then I could enter a corrected time for the creation time in lightroom directly. But should I do that for 300 images???
I need an extended function of the date / time modification:
It should be possible to make a batch modification of all selected photos of +/- hh:mm:ss to adapt the images of one camera (which had a wrong interal time setting) to the real time or at least to a time of another camera (of course you have to know the exact time difference between the camera times).
Such a function is currectly provided by the little software EXIFTool - but it's not nice to handle the image files outside of Lightroom just to modify the time. And Lightroom already has a function for this - but it's possibilities are not good enough.
Please implement this as soon as possible.

thank you very much for the hint! I always thought that all selected images would be set to the same time if I use this function.
I guess then this is just a GUI problem. It should be somehow visible that in the grid view all selected images are shifted with the same amount of time. Additionally it would be an advantage to see how much time (+/-) it is shifted.
Nevertheless, it could have saved allot of my time if I knew that before. I tried to find something in the German help - but I didn't find the information you gave to me.
Finally this is a point which can still be improved.

Why did Apple omit the Panorama feature in Camera on the Ipad, when they did the IOS 6 Update? They included this feature on the iPod touch (5th gen) so why not on the iPad?

I was on vacation in a national park and saw people using their iPads as a video camera...one of them standing in the middle of a 'river' (read really large stream) at the time.
I'm going to also go with the supposition of it being a different camera and probably different video handling processor. The iPhone is quite far ahead of the iPad camera wise, so probably has better protocols in place to handle images, especially something as complex as the 'live photo stitch' of the panorama.
many existing cameras take what the panorama was, a 'photo stitch' where mulitple side by side photos are stitched together into one large panorama. This just appears to do it 'live' instead of individual shots that need to be processed on a comptuer to make the panorama.

Yes you can but you need to partition the drive into at least 2 separate drives.
To do that you need to use a Windows PC to do the first partitioning. Say you split the drive into two partitions each 1TB (or close to 1TB) each.
Partition fand format both partitions on a Win PC as one NTFS and the other FAT32.
Then move it to the Mac and Reformat the FAT32 partition Mac Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Table.
I have that same drive and that is what I did originally with it. I now have it just for the Mac as I have other externals for the Win systems.

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.

Variable input for the time shift NEXT()

Is there any way to make the parameter on the time shift 'TIME=NEXT(%var%)'
the idea is the user would input/send the value that will be place on the NEXT parameter..
I've tried using the get statement but it doesn't retrieve the values.,..

First you have to create a DM dtsx file then go to modify -> view package file -> advance
disable a standard prompt by using " ' " then replace it using script like this
PROMPT(TEXT,%Dimension%,"Select Dimension",,"") << this prompt could only work on one selection only
under the execute formula logic file place this
TASK(Execute formulas,FORMULASCRIPT,"*FUNCTION LOGICPARAM=%Dimension%|")
Done from here and then save the Dtsx
open your script, and make this additional script
*SELECT (%DimensionID%,"ID","Dimension","[CALC]='N' and [ID]=substring('LOGICPARAM',1,charindex('|' , 'LOGICPARAM')-1)")
and then place that %DimensionID% anywhere on the script. But remember while script run on input schedule can take CV as xdim will not work with this one, you have to make xdim to all dimension in application in your script each time after commit.

Time-shifting on NHL Gamecenter--grayed out for hours?

So I bought my ATV2 and Gamecenter subscription with the hope of time-shifting games. I'm in Alaska, so games start at 3 and 4 in the afternoon. I prefer to watch around 9 pm, or 1 am Eastern time. However, on most nights, as soon as the live feed ends, the games are grayed-out--no longer available--and typically don't become available when I'm ready to watch. I don't know exactly when they actually become available, but most nights they are NOT available by 12 am Alaska time, or 4 am Eastern time. I go to bed, and sometime during the next 7 hours they become available, since they are there when I wake up. Well, 7 am is not a good time to watch a game, and trying to maintain a personal media blackout for the 12 hours so I don't find out the score is virtually impossible. Result--frustrated customer with device not working the way I thought it would.
Anyone else experiencing this "gray-out" period after the game sand any clue why iot is happening?

I think it is normal. They seem to become watchable about 4 hours after the game ends.

Time shift

Hi all,
hope someone can help me with this problem, I'm supposed to perform a time shift for my signal however it does not work..
I have an original signal which I need to do a time shift using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform)
I had used 1D fourier interpolation.vi to do DFT but 'm not too sure whether this is the right .VI to use. If it is, is there any better .VIs which I can use?
Can someone please help me with this problem, having a time shift by using DFT.

Hi all,
May I know how can I do a simple discrete time fourier transform first? Can amend the program which I had sent out earlier for me to compare at least I know what I had done wrong. I've tried writing a formula manually, used the Interpolate 1D fourier and FFT.vi(s) but it just seems that I'm wrong everytime.
What I understand is, by applying fourier transform signal, I should be getting a frequency response graph. I did get a frequency response graph earlier, however when I calculate it with respect to the values I'd set to perform the operation, it's wrong again.
Please find attached my revised program and your superb advises, a million thank you in advance.

Time shift instructions & dummy variables

hello experts,
i am new to bpc & script logic.(sap nw 7.0 bpc). i am trying to do 'time shift' values of the account dim. i've tried the keywords
(next, prev, base etc) and i've tried the mdx format. (time = [time].currentmember.lag(n)) but i didn't get a result. do you have any other suggestions? what should i do?

Unfortunately there isn't really currently a very good way to do this in script logic. Dzimitry's instructions are probably the easiest approach. A BADI might be your best bet if you need to get fancier than that.
There is another option, which is to use Account Transformation business rules. These let you copy an offset period using the "Period" field. You can specify whatever offset you want (-1, -2, 2, etc.). The only limitation is that it does not work across year-boundaries, at least not in the backwards direction.
If this functionality meets your requirements, I highly recommend using the business rules to do this. In general I recommend going to business rules first, and only then turning to script logic.

Hellow everyone,
I would like to stream videos for my viewers and them have a abiliti to timeshifting live stream.
Can I use live application for timeshifting? Or I should use livepkgr to do that.
For archive and play on the VOD mode I like to stream live and record at same time. in the livepkgr I see in the stream folder create a stream file with the f4f extention automaticaly whoever in the live application I should call application.record on the FMS to save live stream on the server.
Please advise me the better solution to archive and time shifting.

Aperture, the aebs and the time capsule feature - multiple machines?

Hi folks,
The main aperture library and photos are located on my macpro which is downstairs.
I load photographs into AP exclusively through this machine.
I also manage the AP library from the MP as well.
However, I'm thinking about putting the AP library and vaults etc.. to an external which will be connected to my airport extreme base station in the 'time capsule' manner. My goal is to use the external as a network storage device and not use the time capsule feature at all - i use a variety of externals for backups b/c i have 5 macs and varying degrees of needing to back up.
So, if i'm on my macbook pro upstairs, can I access the AP library on the external? Would it be seamless? Has anyone tried this yet?

Time machine feature on Macbook

Hi there -
I have a question about the Time Machine feature on my Macbook. I want to back up my materials, especially my iTunes files, but I'm not sure if my Time Machine feature will work without an external hard drive. Can I start the Time Machine feature and back up my files on my Macbook hard drive? Or do I need to save it to an external hard drive?
Not sure how to go about backing up my stuff with this.

Backing up to your own hard drive makes no sense. If your drive fails you have no backup. You should backup to an external Firewire drive. You can use Time Machine or other software.
Basic Backup
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
8. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
9. Data Backup (Commercial)
The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
2. Toast
3. Impression
4. arRSync
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.
Impression and Toast are disk image based backups, only. Particularly useful if you need to backup to CD/DVD across multiple media.

Although you can buy a complete FireWire drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined. It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.) Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available. You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports. I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets (911, 921, 922, for example.) You can find enclosures at places such as;

All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover. Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.
