Time stretch: ramp increase/decrease

Is it possible to gradually increase /decrease the % of a video?
I have TGA footage that I’d like to begin at normal speed then gradually increase this to about 50%.
I’m fairly certain the built in Tim Stretch functionality isn’t capable of this, but was wondering if there was perhaps an expression, or clever workaround?
Any ideas?

Wow, you’re right..
I’ve been using Time Remapping as a method of simply jumping between time intervals..
…forgot it can be used for slow motion effects and such.

I'm creating a video slide show from my niece's wedding photos and I wanted to increase the duration of 40 - 50 slides so that they end at the same time as the music. Suggestions?
I can time stretch one image or cut short the music but that is not the desired effect I would like.
I'm using PE 7 any suggestions would be great.

To adjust the Duration of Stil Images, one has two options:
They can go to Edit>Preferences>Still Image Duration, and make the adjustment there. However, this is ONLY for Stills that are Imported, after the change. It does not affect any Still Images that are already Imported. Now, one can Delete certain Imported Images, and Import them again, after this change.
Or, one can Click+drag on the Tail of a Still, to increase its Duration, from that, with which it was Imported. When I do this, I like to have the Info Panel open, to see exactly how I am changing that Duration.

Where is the time stretching butten that makes it easy to time stretch with the cursor in premiere elements 13 ?

Why doesn't preimere elements have the option to trim the clip but the triming is in a matter of fact of - time stretch ? In premiere elements 10 there was a butten you could press and the curser became a trimer for time stretching. If there is an option like this in 13 I'll be happy to hear about. Thanks, Oren

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on? Background information for now.
In Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace, you can access Time Stretch from the Tools Menu or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+R to bring up the Time Stretch dialog.
If you are interested in creating slow and fast motion effects, also see Time Remapping feature found under that Tool Menu.
As for the Premiere Elements 10 Timeline workspace, there is an icon (Time Stretch Tool with the keyboard shortcut X) I see no such icon in Premiere Elements 13.
Clicking on that icon in 10 will allow you to increase or decrease the duration of the Timeline video selected. And, if you go into the Premiere Elements 10 Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization, you will find a "Time Stretch Tool" command with the given keyboard shortcut X. At least, I do.
Even if I try to trigger a hidden "Time Stretch Tool" in 13 with the "Time Stretch Tool" shortcut X, I cannot. And, there is a Premiere Elements 13 Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization/ command Time Stretch Tool with keyboard shortcut X.
As for whys in Premiere Elements 13, you would need to take that up with Adobe who decides on the feature set for a given version. This is a user to user forum.

HIncreasing/Decreasing "Gain" to a microphone in the FlexiJack.y I have the problem with my Xfi Titanium, that it has too much gain so when gaming, people hear me typing and I get weird echos while recording, there needs to be a gain control for the Flexiport, cause if this was at a lan party no one would be able to hear me over the noise of hundreds of desktops running at full power, with monitoring on I can hear each key stroke at any volume rate for my headset and the "mixer" doesn't help, just decreasing the output volume does not equal gain. In the next version of drivers make the mixer more like an actual mixer and include a gain knob or check box. SOMETHING!
Below is an example of an actual mixer channel strip, gain is refered to pre-amp and disregard the aux sends unless you guys want to have the ability to send through different outputs on the card and other hardware.
If you guys truly pride yourself on audio quality add gain, please. Then will this be the ultimate audio solution.
P.S. Should I actually send this to someone other than a mod?

It is not just a delay or something, I hear two separate signals one that is real time, desired output, and one that is delayed just enough to be noticeable so like 5ms at least. Does any one know how to fix this?
Current setup: Headphones plugged into the Front left and right and I have my mic plugged into the FlexiJack with the Microphone option checked. Enhancements make no difference and everything is default, besides FlexiJack. the only time I can get it to stop temporarily is by changing the Speaker Configuration between 2/2. and Headphones this only works for about an hour before the echo returns no settings were changed no application was launched, nothing.

How to time stretch a picture frame (not video) that I have panned and zoomed in Premiere Elements 11?

Previously used Premiere elements 11 and could zoom in on a picture frame, but also Time stretch it, so the zoom would be slow. Cannot figure out how to do this in Premiere elements 11. When I have applied the zoom, but go to right click on the picture frame, it does not allow me to change the time. It stays on 100. It will only allow me to change actual video clips. Does anyone know how to really slow down the zoom on a picture frame, or a way to use the Time stretch like I could do in Elements 7? Thanks!

I do confirm your observation on the Time Stretch Speed %/Duration available fields for a still in Premiere Elements 7 vs 11 Presets Horizontal 640 x 480 Zoom In.
If you want to go with Presets rather than manual keyframing of Scale property in Motion Panel expanded, then...
1. Given your 5 second still on the Timeline.
2. Drag the fx Effect Horizontal Image Zoom/640 x 480 Zoom In into the 5 second still on Video Track.
When you do that two Scale keyframes are automatically placed at the beginning and end of the 5 second clip.
3. Change the duration of the clip, with one of the following
a. click and drag to the right the right edge of the clip to increase its duration
or
b. right click the clip, select Time Stretch, and set the duration to the increased value....if you had been in 7 the Speed% = 50,
then the duration you would find is 10 seconds (00;00;10;00). Here no Speed% visible opportunity, just set the duration = 00;00;10;00.
c. go to Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded, and move the 2nd Scale Keyframe to the the right. In this
example at the 10 second mark, the new duration of the clip.
"Presets" has its limitation - pan or zoom instead of pan and zoom, and other. In what needs to be done here, it probably would have been quicker
just to do the Scale keyframing yourself in Motion Panel expanded with the Toggle Animation technique Scale (for Zoom) and Position (for Pan).
There is more to all this, but for now let me know if any of the above could get your through to your goal.

Fast forward time stretch effect / blurring / MOV

Hello friends,
So I did an entire 3 minute video using a time stretch effect (fast forwarding, time elapse) to match a voice over.
I saved it out as FLV so that the client could proof it. All was good so I wanted to provide an MOV file in H264 to increase quality / make Apple compatible for You Tube viewing.
When I did, the FF time stretch video really blurred and pixelated in the video.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a codec or something that might reduce the amount of dragging / pixelation / bluriness? (That of course has high quality)
Video was shot using a Canon Vixia HFS30.

Time Stretch Without Ripple APE-11

I am working on a video with B-roll. I have 15 pictures in track Video 3. I want to make them be on screen longer using Time Stretch. My problem that when I stretch a picture all the rest ripple to the right now our of place. I tried holding down Control but then Time Stretch does not work.
How do I expand pictures without Ripple?

Please give the following a try while I think about alternatives.
Take your mouse cursor and drag out the right edge of the still to increase its duration. You can use the timecode pop up to determine the extent of the increase.
If you have other stills to the right of this one and not side by side and space to spare, they should not move when you increase the duration of the clip as suggested above.

Lost transitions after time stretch video texts

How do I get back to the original project I opened to work on? I realized the text duration was 5 sec and needed to be 6 sec. I used the Time Stretch on the text title to increase about 30 text titles by 1 sec ea. I rendered and saved in batches of 10. Results were that the transitions between scenes "went away." I then replaced these transitions, rendered and results were Text titles were moved. This is a mess and I want to start from where I left off Please help. Thank You :-)

You can try to open one of the auto-saves, in the sub-folder in the same folder as your project file.
But meantime, don't time-stretch a title to extend it. Just stretch it longer on your timeline.

Time remapping vs time stretch tools

What is the difference? Both can do the same thing it seems, apart from the fact that time remap can ramp in and out. Does one of them make interpolated frames?

Premiere Elements Time Stretch Tool can also be used for "ramped slow motion". Have you seen the YouTube video tutorial on the subject?

NAudigy 4 Pro - Trouble increasing/decreasing the volume using remote (RM 500) As the title says, I'm having troubles with increasing/decreasing the sound volume using the remote controller unit - RM 500 on my Audigy 4 Pro.
The sound volume inc/dec works just fine if I do it via the keyboard buttons, Audigy's External Hub or any other "software method", except when i'm using the remote.
If i press + or - on the remote, only the left channel reacts.
I'm using the latest drivers/apps (via AutoUpdate) over a fresh Win XP Pro / Audigy drivers (from the original CD).
It does not have this strange behavior with the drivers/apps from the original CD, but only after installing the updated drivers. The reason i'm not keeping the original drivers is that a few years ago, when the original CD drivers were the only ones available, they caused the BSOD to my ex-system several times. It was something related to the fact I was using (and I still am) 4 DDR memory bars...
I would really need some help on fixing this issue.

"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit."

Time stretch audio file to match tempo of track

Hi everyone, I am a new user of Logic express, and have found the info on this site extremely helpful, in conjunction with SFlogicninja's tutorials on youtube.
However, after watching a recent tutorial on Time stretching audio, i am now completely confused. Similar to the tutorial, i am trying to fit an audio region(an acapella track) to the tempo of the project. I have beat mapped the region to establish a tempo, but would like to experiment with slowing down or speeding up the track as a whole. As the acapella was created outside of Logic, i am bouncing the acapella track in order to be able to 'follow tempo'(as shown in the inspector). I have disabled the 'normalize' checkbox and bounced, but the bounced track still does not have the 'follow tempo' option in the inspector.
Any ideas as to why my bounced files cannot follow tempo. I can do it with audio that i create in Logic, but if i import any files, i was under the impression that by bouncing it within Logic, i could still obtain the same results?
I'm running out of hair to pull out!

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

Can you guys recommend your favourite time-stretching app? I'd like to find an easier way of lining up transients to beats, for example.

Logic Pro 8 is also the application to use for time-stretching though!

However, Logic also has an audio quantize feature.
Check page 517 of the *Logic Pro 8 User Manual*. I have used this with varying amounts of success.
If you own Ableton Live, it has a better method (IMHO) for quantizing audio by doing something they call "warp markers". With Live, you simply place a warp marker on each transient (note start) that you wish to move, and then move it to the desired bar location. Live then time stretches your audio to match. Because it requires you to select these places, it is more seamless and has less artifacts than the algorithmic method in Logic. Still, if I only need to move a few note beginnings, I prefer to just stay in Logic and do it with the marquee tool.
