i recently bought an apple ibook only to discover that my zen micro is not compatible with it! well, i thought, creative will have a mac os x driver for download but not only they don't have it for the zen micro because after some research i haven't discovered something which has a mac driver to download! don't get me wrong, i love my zen micro, i wouldn't exchange it for an ipod mini but even the ipod mini is compatible with windows so why hasn't creative made a driver compatible with mac? even worse, i sent an email to ask if creative would be making a driver for mac and they told me they cna't help and gave me a link to the zen micro "for more information", like that would help me by reading! come on creative, don't be such so sore losers to apple, you're only discouraging people who use mac to buy creative products, not only mp3 players but everything(as far as i have researched) you have. i don't want to end up selling my zen micro to buy an ipod. tsk tsk tsk... thanks to anyone who's reading this.

jcole26: Creative haven't made Mac drivers for the simple reason that it's a minority OS. This being the opposite reason as to why Apple made the iPod Windows compatible. I don't want to get into a discussion about how Creative should make Mac drivers to beat the iPod, or to expand their range etc. There are past threads on all this.
Despite this there are a few options for connecting the Micro or other players to the Mac, and these are covered in the FAQ post.

8This is a two part question about the creative 6gb Zen? First of all, my battery life dropped very suddenly. One charge I was getting the full 30 hour battery life and the next it dropped to under ten. I tried using their tips on how to extend the battery life and I am still getting less than 0 hours of battery life. Why would it dropped more than half the amount between charges? I tried recharging it after it ran out and still the same thing. Any help?
Second, (I am adding this question because it might relate to the first in some way) my mp3 player has been behaving strangely lately. For example, some artists sometimes have letters removed or all but the first end up being removed. But, if you reset the player, the artists go back to the full name. Also, my player has been taking a little longer than usual to turn on. It takes about 30 seconds to turn on instead of the 5-0 that I'm used to. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
My Zen is only 4 months old, and I would be very upset it it's breaking already. Please, if you have any suggestions on how I can fix what's happening, post them. (Even if they?probably won't work, they're worth a try.)

Obviously I hope, not all A-V products are alike, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to condemn them all because of problems with one of them. Regarding Sophos in particular, finding first hand reports of it causing problems is quite difficult -- typically, if you ask for the details it turns out to be a second or third hand report & there isn't enough info available to know for certain if it is the real cause or not.
This is not to say it is impossible for it to cause problems, just that it is prudent to consider all the possibilities before concluding that any one of them is the cause.

The Time Capsule is only a router...with a built in hard drive. It does not have a modem built in, so you will need to use a separate modem with your new calbe service.
If the cable provider offers a modem with their service it would be good idea to use that device, as you know that it will be supported by your provider in the event of any Internet connection difficulties.
If the provider does not offer a modem, I am sure that they have a list of compatible modems on their website, or check with customer support for more information.

What's going to be done about the Creative Cloud debacle?

Adobe is a maker of great software, but the 30+-hour-long disappearance of Creative Cloud revealed them as a terrible company. There was next-to-no information being released during the outage about cause, estimated time for the fix, or potential work arounds. Perhaps they were embarrassed that this was a self-inflicted error, but they should be even more embarrassed that their only response has been, "oops, sorry, we'll do better." People lost cash; they missed deadlines. A plan to reimburse customers should have been announced even as the fix was underway. They should comp every customer two months' service.
Meanwhile, I had been under the impression that the CC software could be used in offline mode. That's the way it should be. The software is paid for and licensed a month at a time, so it should only need to be verified once a month. It should not have to sign in every time it starts up. Completely ridiculous.
Mistakes happen and adversity cannot always be avoided, but the true test of a person--or a company--is how they respond and recover. Adobe, you are failing this test miserably.
So, what is going to be done about this debacle?

I just purchased a one month plan from Adobe Creative Cloud and already downloaded several programs. Unrelated to Adobe, I reinstalled the operating system on my computer today. I just downloaded the programs again. Is there a limit on how many times I can download Adobe software? I also am planning on purchasing another computer down the road. How many computers can I download Adobe software from my current Adobe Creative Cloud membership.

You can download and install it as many times as you like but you must activate it in order to use it.
You can only activate the software on a maximum of two computers at any one time.
You can deactivate on a computer via Help > Deactivate and re-activate via the same step.

HT202663 AirTunes cuts out at the same time every hour for about 20 seconds

Since converting my iMac from Lion to Mavericks a week ago, my Airtunes network dies at exactly the same time ... 51 mintes and 35 seconds every hour after the hour. It stays down for 20 seconds then picks up again without any intervention required. (iTunes itself does not stall).
My wifi network set up worked reliably for about three years before upgrading to Mavericks, streaming music from iTunes on my iMac to two AP Expresses and one AppleTV. I have an Actiontec router provided by Verizon/FiOS. The iMac is connected to the router via Ethernet.
The apparently precisely timed interruption problem manifested itself immediately after installing Mavericks.
Anybody else have anything like this?

I fixed the problem. For anyone interested I disabled the IGMP service in the Actiontec router.

Time to be mature about it creative... tsk tsk tsk
