Lets face it folks...minis arent what theyre cracked up to be. When i got my mini i was very happy with it, even up until a few weeks ago it was great. But now that the battery is messed up after barely half a year of usage...im starting to think were all being scammed by apple.
As i Searched for help on these forums, i scrolled through other peoples topics and it seems to me that apple has more problems with their music players than most companies.
So basically...ipods are aweomse, cool little gadgets i admit, and stylish too, but thats until they break 5-6 months after you buy them. My 49$ CD Player from zellers lasted longer than this 300$ piece of garbage. Whats the deal??
Im going to send in my mini to get fixed, and it better not cunk out or cost me about 100$ like it did for all these people posting every few minutes...or apple are gonna have one angry S.O.B. on their hands.

If you're looking for problem-free stories, the support forums are probably not the best place to be.
The iPod mini is the single best portable mp3 player. Ever.
Some are going to crap out. Of those, many are going to be complained about here. Do the math.
Anyway, it stinks that your iPod broke, good luck with the replacement.

I always need to see the time counter on the music player, is that possible?

As a spinning instructor I need to see the time counter on the music player all the time. Now it dissepears after a short time and I need to touch it to see it again and that is not good! I also wish that it was bigger numbers on the counter so I easy can see how long time it's lest on the songs.
Ideas anyone?

By default the screen display will dim in about 20 seconds to conserve the battery. And I cannot find any setting to inhibit this function. I am afraid there is no way you can keep the screen bright and enlarge the numbers on the timer.

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

Quit the music app completely and try it again. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Try the app again.
Or ....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I have asked this over and over all over the internet and no one has an answer. I enjoy my music for a while but when it is time to STOP THE MUSIC I have found but one way - Turn off or power down the device. This is so annoying I have stopped playing and stopped purchasing any and all music of any type. Wwell, maybe it is just me. I have been using and have bought 7 Apple devices just over the past 3-5 years. Having supported, programmed, configured and taught college level courses for MS based and super computer hardware and software configurations for almost 20 years I am apparently ignorant of differential operations. Previously I had 5 choices on any hardware or software when playing anything like music, video, DVDs or anything similar. I had 'Play' 'Fast Forward' 'Fast Rewind' 'Pause' a n d 'STOP'. Perhaps Apple has found the STOP unnecessary but I thoro enjoyed knowing whatever I was playing had STOPped and could not continue unless I chose to go back to the program or equipment and chose any of the 5 choices except STOP again since I could not STOP a STOP. As I said perhaps I need to reconsider my choices and obvious ignorance. Thanks for all the help.

No, I do not mean just the music. Copying just the media/music files or the media folder creates problems.

unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups

hi philly, thanks for getting back to me, especially on such a busy day.
I don't think that's quite the issue though. I bought an album and it appears in 'my purchases' within the itunes app. Yet, in order to listen to the music, i must use the 'music' app and in this application, there are only three tracks displayed at any one time from my downloaded album.
I can 'download all' from the 'my purchases' section but that still doesn't help, it just keeps the last three tracks downloaded in the music app.
I have the 'icloud' enabled and wondered if it had anything to do with that.
i have successfully downloaded another full album totally into the music app, but this first album is causing me problems.

I need help every time my iTunes library updates i get this error messege: The iTunes.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder. but the file should be there.

I have a 1TB Time capsule, I would like to attach a USB drive to the Time Capsule and transfer my iTunes Library to it so I can run itunes from wifi. I am new to network stuff. My current iTunes library is on a USB drive velcro'd to the back of my Macbook - rather inconvenient, the USB port is loose. The music files are external but the library files with ratings/play counts are in the iTunes folder. Advice please? Be gentle and assume I know nothing please!

Setting it up the way you have with the library on the internal and just the media on the external makes it a lot more tricky to move things around. If it was all on the external you could do in the time it takes to copy the files plus about 20 seconds.
You can use the same library file, except in that file are references pointing to the media files on the USB drive. Are you planning on doing this with the same USB drive that you are using right now>? It is possible it may work. If the configuration is that you have SongA on USB drive Fred, as long as the drive remains named Fred then you should be able to move it to a different point of attachment. If you are planning on using a different USb drive you can try renaming the new USB drive to the exact same name as the existing one and maybe trick iTunes into not noticing the difference.
This is where having as much detail as possible when posting an issue is helpful so we don't have to consider every possible configuration.
