Time to say Thank You - Introducing the O2 Community Rewards Programme!

We are really proud of our community. You put your time, sweat, efforts and knowledge at the service of others, throughout the day, every day. And you do it out of the kindness of your hearts.
We’ve been busy in the background working hard on several projects, you’ll see quite a few things happen in the next months. The one thing we thought we needed to do first was say Thank You.
So, welcome to the O2 Community Rewards! From the 1st August 2013, you can get a thank you token for participating in the community. Every month.
Here is how it works:  each month, your activity in the forum will earn you rewards points. Points are calculated by using a super secret algorithm that has been devised by monitoring members’ behaviour over the past months. Once you reach a certain amount of points, you will qualify for a reward. We have 4 different levels of rewards – Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Every month points will reset and you will be able to try to qualify for another reward.
Rewards will vary from month to month – watch out every month for an announcement.
What do you need to do to join the programme? Absolutely nothing. All registered members are automatically entered. The more you participate in the community, the more points you will earn increasing your chances to qualify for a reward.
The Terms & Conditions will give you the full details of the programme, please read them carefully and feel free to ask any questions you might have

I'd still like to hear your opinion on the reward programme too though Hi Chiara,   To keep the 02 Community Forum alive and fresh I understand that changes need to occur, and thanking contributors to the forum by way of Reward cannot harm. The only criticism from me is lets not have the debacle of the "hook-a-duck" rewards scenario, where some of the prizes /rewards were lets say , weak.   Last year I was given £5 credit to my PAYG account for my efforts on the forum and that was really appreciated. Just an example of how rewards like that mean something. You have my vote.

  • Just writing to say thank you for the update

I'm an iPhone 4 user and I just wanted to say I'm very pleased thus far with the iOS 7 update.
I know no one will read this, but wanted to say thanks anyway.
It doesn't change my life, but you have made some helpful improvements.
To whomever might be listening, thanks

I like the new update as well.  I hate to see so many people having issues with their updates but I've updated 3 iPhone5's and 3 iPads and I have had zero issues with any of them.
There are few minor bugs to work out but it's a big change. Clearly not everyone will like the change but man, to see so much belly-aching when screenshots and videos have been out for months about the new 'look & feel' of iOS7, it's almost ridiculous.
    Carry on Apple!

  • It is time to say thank you......

    Hello,
With the great help you gave me, I have completed my final year project(research) successfully. Most probably this may be my final mobile project. So my dear sirs/freinds, thank you very much.
    bye

Radiation Mac is right, unscrupulous people use scare tactics to get you to download their own bad stuff.
Probably the most popular antivirus for Mac's is ClamXav, available here or from MAS itself, free of charge.   Maybe you could make a scan of your computer using it, to satisfy yourself you are in the clear.

  • How Can I say "thank you" to the iMovie Team? Someone forward it to them?

My son died Sunday. In the middle of incredible grief, I needed to make a video of stills of his life. I had never touched iMovie (or iDVD) before. I was able to stumble through every thing I needed to do and get it done against a very tight deadline.
I wanted them to KNOW that the decisions that they made in all the hundreds of meetings and planning that made this program able to be used by someone that could barely see the screen through tears MATTERS.
It won't make Hollywood, but it comforted my son's friends and family when we needed to see him. Do you EVER think what you do does not matter.

    Dear Dad --
May I say that your post has been shared among the volunteer helpers in these Apple Discussions forum. Your love for Joey is so obvious, and his light and personality is so readily apparent --
There are lots of times when the words "Step" or "In-Law" are just so completely unnecessary.
My husband loves my children just as much as their biological father and I do.
And they love both of their Dads. My son-in-law (technically) is my 2nd son, actually.
We are all so moved by your post. And you can rest assured that your heartfelt encouragement
to the "iMovie Team" will be conveyed to them. And we were so blessed to be so moved by your words here.

  • Thank you to the WPF Bing Maps Control developers and Ricky

I just want to say thank you for the effort that the Bing Maps Team has put into updating the WPF Control.  It is greatly appreciated.  Those of us doing desktop development sometimes feel left out, and the recent updates go a long ways
to helping us do our jobs.
I look forward to bigger and better things in the future once the Microsoft direction for the desktop is made clear.

Glad to hear your happy with the updated control. All the credit goes to the developers. I only posted info on the forums, they did all the work.

  • After a notice of update, I was unable to use iTunes. It said I had a missing dll file and a Windows error 7. I removed iTunes and tried to reinstall. I selected the download items off the apple site. It says thank you but still not there.

Having problems downloading iTunes. After an update notice, I was unable to open iTunes. I de-installed and attempted to reinstall it and it still won't open.
The first error duirn the update was a dll file missing, then a Windows error 7. The screen on the Apple site say  Thank you for downloading, but still not there.

A msi file is short for microsoft installer.  It normally is for installation, removal, and maintenance for a program. So iTunes.msi would be used for the updating of the program.  For some reason it isnt finding this so we can't update, install, or remove it.
From what I have seen windows installer cleanup utility solved related problems before.
I found this forum about removing and installing a new iTunes.  It was about someone who was trying to isntall iTunes, and was looking for msi file and asked for help.   Using this should allow you to be able to install iTunes.  It won't give you the msi file but will allow you to isntall iTunes over again.
    This was what was said.
Another option in case you can't get an msi. (Or even if you can ... the msi's mentioned in the messages may be damaged rather than missing.)
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • My 30 day Photoshop trial finished yesterday. I purchased the $9.99 per month Photoshop package and received an email saying "Thank you for your payment etc" But when I go to open PS it still says "the trial has expired.."

My 30 day Photoshop trial finished yesterday. I purchased the $9.99 per month Photoshop package and received an email saying "Thank you for your payment etc" But when I go to open PS it still says "the trial has expired.." Is it supposed to work automatically or is there a step I'm missing?

    1. Close all the Adobe Applications. Log-out from creative.adobe.com and re-login.
    2. Once you launch the software and when you get the error saying the the trial version has expired, you will have an option saying "License this software".
    3. Select this option and enter your credentials and click next.

  • I can't download itunes, I click the download button on the website, it says thank you but nothung has actually happened.

I can't download iTunes on my laptop on windows. It says thank you for downloading but nothing actually happens.

It seems that in some cases the scripts on Apple's site that are intended to query your system to offer the appropriate installer don't work as intended, taking you straight to the "Thank you for downloading" page.  Depending on the edition of Windows you are running, there are three variants of the most recent version of iTunes, with direct links to the installers as follows:
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27  (64-bit) - iTunes6464Setup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (64-bit "for older video cards") - itunes64setup.exe
The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).
See turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more details if you're still having problems with installation.
