Time Travel on Mac or The Clock has Gone Mad...

My time zone is 4+... the time displayed on Leopard is 8:00am... Then I reboot to Windows XP... everything continues just as normal, the time is still 8:00am... When I boot back to Leopard my new time is 4:00am... Did I just time travel 4 hours back in time?
How can I avoid this?

I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

I found many folks here trying to hide of the clock, but I need the clock. I use a PDF on my iPad for my notes when I am speaking in front of an audience. I need the clock so I can kep track of time.

When I purchase ITunes music, and it is a song from a Greatest Hits album, the Year of the song shows the year the CD was released and not the year the song was released (i.e. a song may be from 1986, but the Greatest Hits album was released in 1999, so my songs in ITunes show 1999). So, I go into each of those songs and change it to the year that I want to be displayed. As long as I don't exit out of ITunes, it will show the year that I changed it to (i.e. the 1986 year in this case). But if I exit out of ITunes and then return to ITunes, the year reverts back to 1999. The same happens if I change the genre of a song from, say 'Pop' to 'Alternative', it will revert back the next time I log in.
Oddly enough, as soon as I right-click on that song to change it back, the year/genre that I had entered returns.
How can I make it so my changes are permanently displayed as I want them? This is pretty annoying when I try to find a song on my Ipod under a certain genre, but it doesn't appear in that genre because the incorrect information gets synched to the Ipod.

Make sure that these two options in Edit > Preferences > Store are turned off:

Your metadata entries should then be persistent - with these options checked iTunes will be comparing what you have with the information held in the iTunes Store, and will overwrite with the latter for Store purchases (and if you have iTunes Match). Thanks for your reply Michalo. I am in India and here Apple care does not work on Sundays. I have been without my phone for the entire day. Perhaps tomorrow will bring some respite. There is not solution to "error (-1)" on any forum it seems. I found one forum which suggested use of Tiny Umbrella. Any idea about that?

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

My MacBook was not normally booting up. It would turn on, make the Apple startup noise, and the bottom loading bar would progress just a little bit, then my MacBook would shut down. I tried rebooting it many times and the same thing would happen, it would just shut down. Then, I read that I can reset the PRAM (by holding Option+Command+P+R after the Apple startup noise comes). That worked, but now I get a screen that asks me to choose one of the 4 options (see: http://images.macworld.com/images/article/2012/07/lionrecoveryutilities-289404.j pg). I choose Restore From Time Machine Backup, but it progresses to 17.6% and gets stuck there forever. I tried doing it again, and it got stuck at 17.6% again. That is why I am asking if I should just reinstall Lion, then restore a previous backup on the fresh new Lion?

Yes, that little piece of info is critical. I'd say the biggest difficulty with FCPX is the whole new language.
If I read you correctly, your Audio is in the Main Storyline (Track 1 in plain old Editorese). This makes anything else you add (above or below) a "connected clip", which we can no longer think of as "Track 2" because Jobs sez so. So, yes, you cannot just add a transition to either end of a connected clip.
No argument with Tracy's solution, because I haven't seen any other general solution presented for any attempt to treat connected clips as the main storyline. And, of course, when they were "track 1" and "track 2", you could.
An alternative solution, however, is to highlight the connected clip and press Ctrl-V to bring up the Video Animation Editor. Click the "reveal button" for Compositing: Opacity (bottom, right). Once open, there is a "fade handle" to the right top. Drag it left for however much fade you wish. (there is one on the left as well, but you were only talking about a fade-out.)
A second alternative, perhaps for future projects where everything keys on audio, may be to create a Gap clip (used to be called slug) in the primary storyline before ever dropping in the audio. Then you can add video to the main story line and modify it without having to go thru hoops to do the simplest thing.

Indeed, application says - Enjoy your jailbroken phone ! What would that mean ? Any chanses to get that phone On ? (or does it mean the phone gone old n i should get a new version of iphone ?)

Post-update 1.03: Clock has gone. Halts at the beginning of playback.

Advancements made. Sound dropouts (at the beginnings of tunes) have nearly gone, I have experienced just a few. In the beginning of a movie there's about 1-2 secs halt til it begins again.
Now thou the "screensaver" clock has gone. The display is now totally black when the nano is locked and asleep.
So 2 steps ahead and 1 back here.

Hi Jen. My daughter just compleated her nursing program and is now working as a full time nurse. Focus and study hard and soon you will be there too. Now to the problem at hand. I have the same problem. I gave up on it and satisfied myself with my iPod without the upgrade. Reason being I've read so many posts of people having problems after the upgrade. But I'm sure other factors are involved. Nevertheless here is the fix most say works to solve the problem: What ever virus protection you have installed on your computer, disable it. Then try to install the update. After that enable the protection. I had Kaspersky, and it does it's job well. The thinking is, the virus protection is blocking the upgrade. Hope this works. Charlie
