  • Time Zone/calendar issues

I just moved from the East Coast to the West coast. I have traveled in the past and never had an issue with the time zones or my calendar appointments. But since I've moved, my calendar is all whacked out, giving me reminders at the wrong time for events. I just changed the time zone in my calendar (I asusmed it already did that when I reset the main systems time settings) and now my phone is off worse than before!! It's driving me crazy! Please help!

    Hi there,
You may need to check the Time Zone Support settings on your devices. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • IPhoto photo stream time zone/ duplicates issue

I've got a bunch of duplicate photos in my iPhoto library on my Macbook from both manually importing photos from iPhone when connected and from syncing via Photo Stream.
I've since disactivated Photo Stream, but still had duplicate photos on my computer.
I've merged all the albums called "October Photo Stream" with the other imports into one big list sorted by date.
The problem is, I was travelling quite a bit across different time zones, so they're not all really in order. It seems the Photo Stream copy of the photo (the one with the keyword attached) has the time and date as my "home" timezone, not as the "local" timezone as per the time where the photo was taken.
    Is this by design?
I'd now like to remove all the duplicates and was thinking I'd just search for Photo Stream keyword, then select all those pics and delete.... the problem is I'm not sure which ones actually have duplicates as they don't all have duplicates! I really can't figure out how/why some exist as duplicates and others don't... perhaps something to do with when I was/wasn't near a wifi network (applicable while I was travelling but less so for pictures at home as my wifi is always on at home).
This photo stream "feature" is confusing as ****, and don't even get me started on the other iCloud services like docs... could they have designed it any more counter intuitive if they tried?
    Any advice/ assistance appreciated.
Further, if I reactivate photo stream in future, how do I stop this behaviour from happening again?

I've noticed this same problem. I just got back from a trip overseas and the time on all my iPhone photos imported from the photo stream is wrong by two hours (the time difference). It seems a bit stupid to have the photos time stamped with your home time zone, and it means that when I imported the photos from my camera they're all out of order and I need to adjust the time on all the iPhoto photos. That's not particulary hard, it just seems unncessary. I hope someone form Apple notices this and fixes the problem.

  • ICal time zone sync issue btwn macbook & iPhone

I've moved time zones and iCal insists on changing events to have a 3 hour difference! I'm trying to sync between my macbook (from 2008) and iphone (3G), to have the same timed events. Please help!

On your iPhone, drill down Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars and drop down to Calendars. My Time Zone was ON and set to an offset of GMT, I turned it OFF and my appointments are at the correct time on my iPhone.

  • Project Online Time Zone Settings Issues

We just start use Project Online for our project management.  We set the SharePoint Online > Site Settings >
Regional Settings to "(UTC +08:00) Kuala Lumpur, Singapore" and we are confirm that our host located either in Singapore or Hong Kong.   However, we found that the date and time display in the check-out/in
project message, in the PDP-Workflow Status page, task submission, and the Administration Settings that has time references are different with our timezone.
We sent Service Request to Microsoft Support and we been advised to wait for the next version of Project Online. To avoid the confuse happen to our Project Team, we have to set the Regional Settings back to "(UTC -08:00) Pacific Time (US and
Canada)". However, this is 16 hours different
    in our region!
We all know that time is very important in a project management and reporting.  We have >30 on-going projects in the Project Online and some of them are estimate to take years to complete.
Therefore, anybody faced this issue and appreciate it if you could give us any advice or sharing any workaround here.  Thank you in advance.

    Hi Paul,
Is the timezone mismatch only present in the checkout/check-in notification displayed on the PDPs?
    Thanks,
    Roland
    Hi Roland,
    I noticed it happen in:-
"Entry Date" and "Completion Date" for PDP - WorkflowStageStatus in the All Workflow Stage list. (if you are using Enterprise Project)
Check-out/Check-in notification displayed in PDP - Schedule, and some columns' datetime value in the Schedule.
Synchronization date and time that displayed in PWA Settings - Manage User Sync Settings. (if you are using Project Permission Mode)
    Task Submission date and time.

  • How can I correct time zone information

Yesterday  Europe/Moscow zone was changet from  GMT+4 to GMT+3
I've managed to adjust ical4j.jar library replacing Moscow.ics by this very simple zone file
    BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    PRODID:-//Oracle//Calendar Server//EN
    VERSION:2.0
    BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
    TZID:Europe/Moscow
    X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/Moscow
    BEGIN:STANDARD
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0300
    TZOFFSETTO:+0300
    TZNAME:MSK
    DTSTART:19700101T000000
    END:STANDARD
    END:VTIMEZONE
    END:VCALENDAR
After init-config for both davserver and Convergence this jar file is deployed and I see It into
    /opt/glassfish3/glassfish/domains/domain1/applications/davserver/WEB-INF/lib/
    directory.
Moreover I found modified zoneinfo file into
    opt/glassfish3/glassfish/domains/domain1/generated/jsp/davserver/loader_27469283/zoneinfo/Europe/Moscow.ics
I see in the Convegence Options Time Zone Europe Moscow GMT+0300
    So far so good.
Bad news when I export calendar via Convergence calendar interface  I see in  the head of ICS file the following time zone information
    BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    VERSION:2.0
    PRODID:-//Oracle Corporation/CS 7.0.4.15.0//EN
    BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
    TZID:Europe/Moscow
    X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/Moscow
    BEGIN:STANDARD
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0400
    TZOFFSETTO:+0400
    TZNAME:MSK
    DTSTART:19700101T000000
    END:STANDARD
    END:VTIMEZONE
    BEGIN:VEVENT
The offset +0400 is absolutely wrong!
Since I see in convergence all events shifted by one hour back respect to lightning data.
I found a lot of information about how to add time zone alias, but have no info about correction existing time zone.
    Any comments are welcome.
    Thank you, Monk.
    P.S.
Operating system time zone information is right.
Java time zone is updated too.

Yes I know about time zone information into VEVENT Object.
Can You provide me URL where I can download plugin you are talking about?
Plugin can be for Firefox or Chrome.
Till now I can only use export calendar button of Convergence Calendar interface.
Here you can find two event
th-17 and th-19 created by Lightning
    th-17 - started 17-00
    th-19 - started 19-00
According to the Convergence them start at 16-00 and 18-00 respectively.
By the way .Lightning show them correct but fire alarm one hour earlier.
    15-45
    17-45
Seams that Lightning took wrong time zone information from the server with +4 offset.

  • How to set a time zone in Agentry.ini

    Hi All,
I am working on Syclo - MRS integration. We assign a service order in MRS which is in (UTC+03:00) Kuwait, Riyadh .
When the Syclo client downloads the service order it is in a different time zone and it displays the time according to their time zone.

    Hi Neha,
The [TimeZoneAlias] section should have all the mobile device time zone in it. The spelling has to be exactly what is seen on the mobile device. The Mobile Device timezone transmits to the Agentry Server , it maps based on what the server understands, then transmit back to the Backend.
    Eg:
    [TimeZoneAlias]
Australian Eastern Standard Time=(UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney
India Standard Time = (GMT+05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi"
Note: Agentry server while adjusting the timezone gets the list of timezones from Windows registry. It was found that some of the timezone settings may not be recognized by the Windows OS in the server. Please verify the same.
Modify your Agentry.ini to include the exact spelling of your mobile device time zone alias plus the corresponding equivalent as understood by the Agentry Server. I am also attaching the official KBA note tied to Time Zone Alias.

  • How to set DST/time zone consistently?

I'm using several laptops and a desktop Mac (10.6 all) with Outlook 2011 to access a calendar on an Exchange 2010 server (SP1 I think). I see the following weird behavior. For some (not all) yearly calendar entries, like birthdays, which are set to be "whole day" (which then has the time grayed out as 12am), every once in a while they get automatically changed to last 2 days, and the grayed out times say "8pm to 8pm".  I change it back (hit "edit series", and the dates are still grayed out, so I have to change Recurrence to "once only", change the date back to be just the 1 day, and then set it to repeat yearly, and click "all day event" off and back on for the 8pm to change to 12am), but some time later I look and it's back to lasting 2 days! Apparently this has to do with time zone and DST info being different on various clients.  I posted on the Microsoft forum and was pointed to:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1638
So now I'm trying to set consistent Daylight Savings Time and Time Zone on my laptop, desktops, iPhone, and iPad. I think I'm missing something because it's still happening.
On my iPhone, in the Date&Time preferences, it says time zone is "New York"; in Calendar preferences, it says Time Zone Support is set to Boston. In Outlook, it says "UTC-05:00 Eastern Time US & Canada". Is this all correct? Where, on all these devices, do I set the time zone and DST so that it's all consistent?

  • Time zone adjust..

I recently moved from Chicago to Columbus and I can't get the timezone to switch to Eastern. I can do it manually, but if I click "Set time zone automatically using current location" it switches me back to Chicago time (Central). Why would there be trouble establishing my current location? I have a very faint memory of setting my home city as Chicago when I bought this Mac over 2 years ago, but I can't find it in System Preferences. The issue isn't that I don't want to manually change the time zone, the issue is that this Mac thinks it's in Chicago for some reason. Any ideas would be welcome here.

That's because your router is listed in the database used by Location Services as located in Chicago. Eventually the database will be updated. Until then, set the time zone manually. Since you have a Mac Pro, it won't be moving around much.

  • Time zone issue when copying Outlook/Mac invitation to iCal or adding it via iPhone/iPad calendar

    Hello everyone,
I'm facing a situation when every time I receive an invitation comes from a different time zone neither iCal, iPhone’s Calendar nor iPad’s Calendar recognizes it correclty.
Below there are a couple of examples, but before, a few information about my environment: Mac OS X Lion with Outlook for Mac (non-exchange user), I’m using iCloud, and my iPhone and iPad are running iOS5. And BTW, I’m not intending to sync anything with Outlook… I know it does not support iCloud syncing, I just trying to live without that.
    First example.
I got an invitation to a meeting on Monday 5pm-6pm CET, but I’m in GMT-2. It should appear to me as an event to occur on Monday2pm-3pm (GMT-2). In fact only Outlook shows the right time, however when I dragged and dropped that appointment from Outlook’s calendar to iCal it was copied but is did not consider the time zone, that means in the iCal, the appointment was set to occur from 5pm-6pm (GMT-2), instead of 2pm-3pm (GMT-2).
    Second example.
I created an appointment in Outlook by myself, jsut to check if that would be something related to the senders’ computer (Outlook/Windows user), then I set that meeting to occur on Friday 5pm-6pm (UTC+1) and I sent an invitation to a friend of mine (Outlook/Mac User). In my Outlook the appointment was created correctly, that means, on Friday 2pm-3pm (GMT-2), however, when I copied that meeting to iCal it did not consider the time zone, appearing to be Friday 5pm-6pm (GMT-2), and when my friend opened the invitation in his iPhone, which is also set as GMT-2, that also appeared to him as a meeting on Friday 5pm-6pm (GMT-2).
I also checked all possible time zones configurations, in the iPhone, iPad, iCloud and in my MacBook (iCal and Outlook)…all time zones are enabled and configured as GMT-2.
As an last shoot, I decided to download a third-party software, which is integrated with iCal and iCloud, in order to check if that could be an Apple’s issue. I downloaded and installed the BusyCal (from BusyMac). And guess what?! When I dragged & dropped the same meetings I described above from Outlook to BusyCal, it worked perfectly!! And BusyCal sent the proper information to iCal and my iPhone/iPad over iCloud. Which means: #1 there would be no issue with my configurations, and #2 BusyCal does really takes into consideration time zones, which is something that Apple’s calendars looks like do not.
It will not solve the issue I'm having with my mobile devices, but at least is a workaround… BTW, an expensive workaround, because BusyCal costs $49, by now I’m using the 30 days trial version.
So friends, is there anyone who could help to find a real solution J , or at least, a free workaround L
Thank you in advance and I apologize for this “article”.
PS: I've been using Mac for 4 years now, and this is the first time I was stucked ina situation like that... and I don't know who to blame... Microsoft or Apple? This I know... syncing Apple's calendars with Microsoft's calendars, should be effortless... and it is always a pain in... that place...

I am having a similar problem:  invitations sent (presumably from outlook), when accepted from my iPad, appear in the calendar with the wrong time zone.
this actually happens even when the meeting is in the same time zone I'm in:  I am in GMT -5, and even when the meeting is in GMT-5, it defaults to GMT (or, in some instances, PST).  My settings have my time zone set correctly.
    Any help much appreciated.

  • Calendar Event Invites - Time Zone Issue

    Hi all!
I just switched back to BlackBerry from iPhone, and love everything about it so far except one thing:  time zone issues on calendar invites.
My work uses an OS X hosted CalDAV server, and I was able to sync my existing calendars to it without issue.
    My time zone:  Eastern
    My coworkers timezone:  Central
The Issue:   I received an invite from a coworker, and on my Mac, it shows at 1PM Eastern, as it should.  The invite was sent for 12PM Central.  This same invite appears on my BlackBerry at 7AM Eastern.
    Testing completed:
I added an invite on my BlackBerry for 6AM Eastern as a test, and it appeared on my Mac at the correct time without issue.
I added an event on another day from my Mac, and it synced to my BlackBerry without issue.
So it seems that my issue only exists when recieving event invites from others, possibly in different time zones.
My Mac and BlackBerry are both set to Eastern time.
My coworkers Mac and iPhone are set for Central time.
I looked all through the BB settings and cannot find anything that would account for this odd behavior.
I tried a battery pull - same results.
I am on the latest OS available for a Q10:  10.2.1.2976
Can anyone help with this?  I would hate to have to go back to iOS for one issue like this, however, an accurate and reliable calendar is critical to my work.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Try this, for a test.
Set your Q10 to GMT Timezone.
Open the calendar, your invtes should be ~5 hours ahead.
Set your TZ back to Eastern.
Check your specific event mentioned above which was at 7am Eastern.
    Is it correct now?

  • HT4623 iOS 8 version 8.1.2 issues with the calendar displaying wrong TIME ZONE!

I just updated to iOS 8 using version 8.1.2 and am having issues with the calendar.  I use my GMAIL calendar and sync to my iPhone and now any calendar entries that I add from my phone display the current time zone AND GMT time.  Entries that were already there display correctly.  New entries entered from the GMAIL calendar also display correctly.  The issue is with NEW entries entered on my PHONE into the calendar.  This is very annoying and causes problems for new entries that need EDITED.  Once opened to edit it defaults to GMT time!  WRONG!!  I have turned off the automatic time zone feature and Time Zone Override in Settings but it's still WRONG!  There are multiple reports of this online so I would like to know when/if it will be corrected or if there is a fix!  Please help!!

Quite the same problem here, GMT, UTC.......
Why when they do an update they don't check it completely???

  • TS3920 Time zone issues between iPad and iPhone.

When I add a calendar entry from my iPad it has the correct time zone. But when I go to edit that entry from my iPhone, it has the wrong time zone. My settings have the correct time zone for both devices. What else can I check?

    Hello Julie,
I know that Time Zone Support can cause these types of issues. Take a look at teh article below and check the setting on both the iPad and the iPhone.
iOS: How to adjust Time Zone Support for calendars

If you continue to have issues, you may want to contact Apple Support using http://www.apple.com/support/contact/.

  • Time issues? time zone settings appear in two places

If you leave the default "set time and date automatically", you see the time zone support below and you can check it or uncheck. You can then set your time zone there. But if you uncheck the automatic date and time, you get another time zone choice and the default is Cupertino, of course. I wonder if that's the problem with some of these time issues.
I've since unchecked automatic date and time, set my city's time zone, then rechecked automatic. The only weirdness I've seen was with an excel spreadsheet where the time was correctly shown on my mac, but not on the iphone. Unfortunately I don't have that sheet anymore or I'd try again to see if it works now.
    Just a thought.

I noticed the same thing and did the same thing you did because my time was off by several hours each time I turned the phone on...after it being off overnight. When it was off by only 1 hour I could turn the Auto OFF then 'tap' the timezone (already set to the correct city) and the time would instantly correct itself. Then I'd turn Auto back ON.
Turns out that my time issue was related to having the SIM PIN enabled. Once I disabled that, the time's been correct every day.

  • Issues with installing Time zone patch for Oracle 10.1.0.4 in Windows

    All,
I have a working Oracle 10.1.0.4 installation on Windows box, I successfully patched the time zone patches(5865568 and 5126270), OPatch successfully installed the patch. But when I verified if the patch was installed, it says the patch is not installed. I wonder if any one else had this issue.
The only difference in my installation was that my database does not use INIT.ORA but uses SPFILE.
The Post Installation steps called to make certain parameter changes in INIT.ORA and restart the database. In my case I did not do this.
    Any ideas?
    thx
    SS

I'm about to install this patch also. If I'm using an spfile I'll need to create pfile from spfile and modify the parameters in the pfile. When I then restart the database in migrate mode I must then say that I'd like to start using the pfile. Am I correct in assuming this??
OR since I know that I'm using an spfile I could alter the spfile and use whats below. After I restart I can then take out these changes.
    ALTER SYSTEM SET system_trig_enabled=FALSE, JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES=0, AQ_TM_PROCESSES=0
COMMENT='Change To Take Effect After Jan 1 Reboot'
