Time zone unps back to cupertino

After the installation of 2.0 it is not possible for me to change the time zone. I am in Germany and I can input (Settings, general, date & time) the time zone Berlin or Munich. After closing the settings and reopening it is back to Cupertino.
After a total reset the same mistake.
Any idears? Thanks for help

I reset my iPhone last week after it locked up answering an incoming call while I was composing an SMS. The phone locked and the screen went dead. I tried switching off, but no response. I plugged it into my mac to see if it was still alive and it came up in itunes, ready t sync as if there was no problem at all. But I could not access the phone from it's screen. I read about the reset in the Apple online iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant and performed the reset holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for 10 seconds as suggested by Damon.
Since then I have been stuck in Cupertino, so I doubt this will fix the problem.
Resetting the Time Zone to Melbourne Australia, works, but as soon as I leave the settings app my Time Zone resets to Cupertino. I have upgraded the software to 2.0.1 expecting a bug fix, but no luck there.

  • ICal time zone reverting back

I have just arrived in a new country, but when I look for that place's time zone and select it, the next time I open the iCal time zone, it has reverted back to a previous one.
Even more strangely, when I change my time zone in the top right corner of iCal to Greenwich Mean Time, all my entires move suddenly to irrelevant times that are not in line with the chosen time zone...
How do I categorically select and save the time zone once and for al, so I don't have to worry about this strange behavior (which is probably caused by me doing something wrong)?
I would appreciate any help ...

    Hi,

I suggest you use Tripoli  (EET) as your location as I do not believe OSX's DST definition is up to date with this change in Egypt's timezone.

  • Time Zone auto-reset problem

I was having problems with apps quitting, so I did a full restore and now my Time Zone is stuck at "Cupertino, CA"!! I tried to change it to Tokyo, Japan, but every time I go back to the home screen, it resets again!
I seem to have lost the "Set Automatically" feature found at: Settings>General>Date & Time
Could anyone check one their phone and tell me if you have this feature? I swear it was there before I did the full restore...

Thanks so much! Quick question before I try...
Is that the restore from the handset itself (it warns of a two hour process) or the restore from iTunes? If from the handset, when the handset asks me to connect to iTunes for initial set up, should I choose the "use as new phone" (I think that what it says) option?
I was going to choose that the first time I tried a full restore, but I was scared I wouldn't be able to activate the phone properly, so I chose the "back up old phone" option!

  • How do I find Photos taken in a particular time zone?

Hi, I have several hundred pictures taken in and around Calgary Alberta. Lots of the pictures have the correct time but the wrong time zone (GMT instead of MST). If I batch change the time zone from GMT to the correct one the times get changed also and are out by 7 hours. If I then change the time using the Adjust Date/Time meta data menu the time zone changes back to GMT!
So I changed the time by 7 hours and then batch changed the time zone and it works.
Now I need a way to find all the pictures that have the time zone of GMT in amongst the hundreds of correct ones. I have tried smart albums but cannot find a way to filter for time zones - Help!
    Thanks
    P.S. I am using Aperture 3

Thanks so much for your response.  I tried that though and it did not work... any other suggestions?

  • I-Phone not syncing correct time zone in ical, but computer time stays the same

Lately when I put in appointments in my calendar on my Iphone 4S either directly,or in my mac, the time zone drops back 3 hours in just the Iphone only. The correct time is still on my calendar in my mac.  I checked my Iphone settings to make sure that my time zone is correct, which is was.  We live 6 mos on the west coast and 6 mos on the east coast for many years and have not had this problem before. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support = "Off" on your iPhoje.

  • IPhone Date & Time keeps changing to "Cupertino"  time zone

    Hi
Every time i change my Time Zone in Settings>General>Date & Time to "London,United Kingdom" it correctly changes to "London" but if i exit Settings and navigate back to Time Zone settings it has changed to "Cupertino".
This effects World Clocks and other apps which is most annoying.
I have firmware 2.0(5A345) installed on the iPhone. Is there a way to upgrade this? Will i lose all my current data if i do a firmware upgrade? Will it even fix the issue?
Please help, there are currently 2 options I have. Find a fix or move to Cupertino so that my iPhone displays the correct time.
Is there a less drastic option?
    Thanks in advance!

If i do that it states that i am running the current version. Maybe because it is a revision and not a proper update.
My twin brother also has the the version that you have (54347).
Apparently it updates the firmware when you do a "Restore" through itunes but that will wipe the phone clean of everything. I don't mind doing this as long as i can transfer my backed-up content but if i do a "Restore from backup" to tranfer all my settings etc i have a feeling it will revert it back to the firmware that the iphone was running when it was backed up. Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks

  • IPad Calendar editing defaults to Cupertino time zone

When I go to edit a calendar entry on my iPad of an event that I created previously in Outlook on my work PC, the time zone becomes Cupertino, CA during the calendar event editing process.  I live in the Chicago (Central) time zone so the calendar event is moving back two hours when I go to edit any detail of the calendar entry on my iPad.  Yet when the calendar event entry is created on the iPad, it always remains in the Chicago time zone even during editing of the event details.  Has anyone else run into this and have found a fix for this?  Thanks.

I have two iPhones, a 4 and and 4S.  The 4 is my personal iPhone, the 4S is for business.  When I create a new calendar item in my 4 the default time zone in the Add Event dialog is ALWAYS Cupertino. Both phones are set to Timezone = Set Automatically and return New York (I'm in Charlotte, NC).  When I set the time of an event in the calendar on the 4 I set it with the local time zone start and end time.  But when it is saved it reverts to Cupertino time.  Fortunately, the reminders pop up correctly for my local time. My issue is that the same process done on the 4S saves the start and end time of the event as local time NOT Cupertino.  Why does the 4 iphone behave this way.  It is super frustrating.

  • Time Zone resets to Cupertino - repeatedly

I noticed that the clocks showed incorrect times and then found that my time zone had been set to Cupertino - I live in Switzerland. I try resetting it many times but it still jumps back to Cupertino. Now I can't set alarms and many other things gets screwed up! I reset the phone once and got the latest build I guess of the iPhone 2.0 software.
How do I get back to the older version? Is there a fix for this problem?

"mee too". I don't have a solution, just the same problem with more data.
I believe that the problems began when I updated to itunes 9.
two iphone 3gs, one US at&t, one French Bouygtel. same apps on both.
two different macbook pros running os10.5.8, itunes 9.0.2
    variables:
at&t phone - (date & time: set automatically: off, time zone set manually to Paris)
french phone - (auto set function does not exist, time zone set manually to Paris)
laptops - itunes (preferences:devices: Prevent ipods and iphones from syncing automatically is checked) computer timezone set to Dallas)
as soon as a usb connection (either mpb) is made and itunes recognizes either phone (before syncing), the phone time zone changes to match the computer (phone time zone shows Houston).
    other info:
on the at&t phone if "date and time:set automatically" is on, the problem does not occur. the phone remains slaved to the network time signal.
if itunes is not running when the usb connection is made, the problem does not occur. as soon as itunes launches, the time zone resets as before (even before syncing).
apple tech support did not have any solutions. if you have any additional input, please let me know.

  • Birth date shifts back 1 day when changing time zones

I live in China temporarily, but I come back to the US frequently. China is 15 hours ahead of the Mountain time zone in which I currently am. This trip, many of my birthdays were listed a day earlier in Address Book, thus being reflected incorrectly in iCal. Why would this happen? And how can I prevent it??? Very annoying!!

    Amaneta,
this happened to me too once when traveling between EU and US, it was not the date that changed but all my appointments shifted 10 hours in iCal and Palm.
Can't remember if there was a solution posted but I changed my Mac time to CET, installed a backup from the previous day on my Palm and deleted the iCal appointments before doing a sync with the Palm.
Scary stuff for sure. See if just changing back the time to China time solves your problem (at least partly, you will not be in sync with US time), uncheck automatic time zones in Preferences/Date&Time

  • MacBook Pro backs up entirely when changing time zones

    Good Afternoon
I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.2.
I am using FreeFileSync 6.13 to do my incremental back up to a Verbatim external hard drive.
In general terms this set up works perfectly and only backs up the data that's changed since the last backup was ran.  However, whenever the daylight savings time changes or I move time zones (as my job requires me to do every few weeks), the software backs up absolutely everything and takes hours to do it.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a better piece of software available that won't cause this "full" backup to occur?
    Many thanks.
    Martin

Thanks - what's the main topic heading to read up on this issue? (I'm very new to Apple and the support forums).

  • TS3920 iPad 1 w/ iOS 5 on Barcelona time zone location when Automatically Set Date/Time is turned on.  How do I get all of my devices back to PST time?

After returning from an extended trip in Spain, my iPad 1 with iOS 5 retains the Barcelona location when "Automatically Set Date/Time".  Most of my Apple devices are affected, how do I get all of my devices back to PST time?  Thanks!

Turn off Automatically Set Date/Time and set your time zone.

  • Splitting front and back end servers across time zones

    Weblogic Server 7.0
    EJB is in Memphis,
jsp/servlets/web command classes are in Colorado
sending a date to the DB (in Memphis) results in a date getting changed by about 13 hours.
The change happens between the web command class in Colorado and the EJB command class in Memphis.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this and how to eliminate this bug would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Solution was that someone had configured the WLS to always operate dates in GMT, therefore the time differences between time zones were blown out of proportion...
