Time Zones not correctly converted in iPhone Calendar

Problem with recurring meetings that were scheduled by a meeting organizer in a different time zone than my "home" time zone (as configured on the iPhone time zone support).
I am unable to sync or connect directly to my corporate Exchange Calendar due to strict corporate security settings. However, I am able to publish my calendar from Outlook 2007 to the internet. I am publishing my calendar to Office Live. I can then subscribe to my Office Live calendar from the iPhone (3Gs iPhone OS 3.1). Single occurrence meetings seems to translate time zone information fine. In all cases (single or recurring from any time zone) show up fine when I view them via Office Live and/or Outlook 2007.
The problem is the recurring meetings that were originally scheduled in a different (than my "home" time zone that I have configured on my iPhone Calendar time zone support settings) are showing up in the iPhone Calendar incorrectly. A meeting scheduled for 10:00 AM CST is showing up in my iPhone at 10:00 AM PST instead of 08:00 AM PST. I tried turning off time zone support on the iPhone but it didn't make any difference. I believe that setting is really only for meetings scheduled from the iPhone. The setup I described above is a read-only setup from an iPhone perspective.
Interesting that single occurrence meetings work fine... Is this just a bug in the iPhone Calendar app or issue with the way Microsoft represents time zones in recurring meetings?
I should also note that the iPhone Calendar also appears to have problems when a single occurrence of a recurring meeting is changed as well.

How about putting together the information about this nasty bug at a single place in this forum?

  • How to fix, incorrect time zone adjustment from iCloud to iPhone Calendar?

I entered a calendar event on iCloud using my PC.  The event is displayed an hour later on my iPhone. i.e (iCloud) Flight; 2:15pm --> (iPhone) Flight; 3:15pm.
The Time Zone setting is correct (Eastern Daylight Savings) on both the PC and iCloud.
I have had a similar issue when syncing calendar between Yahoo and iPhone.
Any similar experiences? Can this be fixed?
    Thanks.

I re-checked the iCloud timezone settings and found that it was set to "Eastern Standard Time" not Daylight savings time. Odd. I clicked on the map again and it changed to "Eastern Time".  I tried again and it seems to be working.  I am assuming that the "Eastern Time" timezone adjusts automatically.
I haven't figured out the issue with Yahoo calendar yet. Any suggestions?
I also followed up with Ralph Landry1's suggestion and Time Zone support is set to off. Thanks for the heads up.

    Hey Armando Stettner,
Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is!
With time zone support on, you can edit an individual event and change the time zone for that event. This list will include options for your default time zones, UTC, and "floating" - the latter of which is what you are looking for. Floating changes the event to occur at the specified time, local time.
For information on changing an event's time zone, see the following resource:
Calendar: Change an event’s time zone

I look forward to hearing how this works for you.
    Cheers!

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help have your phone examined by an apple technician. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Iphone 5C setting appointments in GMT time zone, not my time zone

Why is my iPhone 5C now recording my calendar appointments in GMT time, not my time zone. I started happening a few weeks ago. I just updated the iOS to version 8.1.2 and it is still happening. Any suggestions?

See this thread, ongoing for several months: iOS 8 Calendar on iPhone showing GMT times for new events.

  • Time Zone not observed in iOS 7 subscribed calendar but is in Mavericks

I have a calendar which I subscribe to from both my MacBook Pro and my iPhone. The specific calendar is an NFL calendar at webcal://www.southendzone.com/ical/nfl.ics
When I view the calendar on my MacBook Pro it shows me all the kick off times in my time zone, GMT and it has always done this without any effort on my part.
No matter what I've tried with time zone support under iOS 7 I can't get my iPhone to show me the calendar in anything but the local time so a game scheduled to start at 01:25 GMT shows up on my iPhone as starting at 19:25. Playing with different time zones I can get all my own calendars to shift but entries for this calendar seem to be etched in stone.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I am experiencing similar type of issue.  I subscribed to a Calendar which has scheduled meeting from my time zone and different time zone.  When I subscribe in OS X, it shows flawlessly on local time. But when I do it in IOS 7,  it shows MST as-is in EST time zone and no matter we play around all the time zone setting in General tab or Mail/Calendar tab.  It's not helping.
Appears to be a bug in IOS 7.  It needs to be reported to Apple.

  • TS1347 when syncing my iphone with my Outlook calendar, a few days appointments did not show on my iphone calendar while other days did. I have done this several times in the past, and this is the first time I've had any troulbe

when syncing my iphone with my Outlook calendar, a few days appointments didn't show in my iphone calendar, but other days did.  The appointments show in my outlook calendar.  I have done this many times, and this is the first time I have had this kind of trouble.  Any idea what has caused these appointments to not show?

Why start a new and very similar thread to your other one which you have not responded to (have you read the replies?)
I suggest that no response is made to this duplicate thread.

  • ICal events are displayed in the local time zone, not at the time they are supposed to be

When I enter events in iCal (or in my iPhone calendar), they always display at the time for the zone that I am currently in, even when they occur in a different time zone. For example, if I have a lunch scheduled at 12 pm Monday in Vancouver, I want to see that I have something scheduled at 12 pm on Monday, even if I am in Hong Kong. But even if I have time zone support enabled, the event appears at 4 am Tuesday. This makes it hard to look at the calendar and know what events I have scheduled for what times when I am doing a lot of travel. Is there anyway that I can get the event to show up at 12 pm on Monday no matter where I am in the world?
    Thanks

This means you're still using Flex 1.5 as your runtime. SAP has introduced Flex 2 RT on SP14 patch 1 onwards. There were a lot of bug fixes and also several new functionality introduced there. I suggest you consider upgrading to the latest SP. Note that you can upgrade VC apart from the portal (only 3 SCAs to deploy) so this means you don't impact the portal itself and continue to have an up-to-date version of VC.
If you want to solve your problem, I suggest you open a support ticket at SAP and once they see this, they'll let you have those SCAs.

  • TS3920 Time zone issues between iPad and iPhone.

When I add a calendar entry from my iPad it has the correct time zone. But when I go to edit that entry from my iPhone, it has the wrong time zone. My settings have the correct time zone for both devices. What else can I check?

    Hello Julie,
I know that Time Zone Support can cause these types of issues. Take a look at teh article below and check the setting on both the iPad and the iPhone.

  • ICal time zone sync issue btwn macbook & iPhone

I've moved time zones and iCal insists on changing events to have a 3 hour difference! I'm trying to sync between my macbook (from 2008) and iphone (3G), to have the same timed events. Please help!

On your iPhone, drill down Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars and drop down to Calendars. My Time Zone was ON and set to an offset of GMT, I turned it OFF and my appointments are at the correct time on my iPhone.

  • Appointment cancelations and reschedules in Outlook 2010 not syncing to my iPhone calendar

I do not have any problems with new appointments in Outlook synchronizing to the iPhone calendar, or vice versa.  Also, if I make changes to or cancel an appointment on my iPhone, it will synchronize correctly to Outlook.
HOWEVER, if I modify or cancel and appointment from Outlook, the changes do not ever synchronize to my iPhone calendar.  If I want the changes to be made on the iPhone as well, i have to go to that calendar separately and make the changes or delete the appointment.
This has been the case since day one with my iPhone 3GS and now my iPhone 4....
Has anyone else had this problem?  Found a solution?
    Thanks so much!

Good suggestion.  I did that and it seems to have worked!  It synced through the manual sync, of course, but I have also now made a couple of test entries and they do go through both ways - ALTHOUGH it takes much longer (a few minutes) to show on my phone when the entry is originated in my computer, whereas when the entry is done in my phone it takes literally two seconds to show up on my computer.  I'll take it, though, as long as it continues to work.
    thank you!

  • Critical: Personal Time Zone not showing up for users

    Hi Experts,
There's a issue that we are facing regarding time zones for users. Even  after maintaining Personal time zones of users in there SU01, users are not able to see data in the system as per there local time zone. It is still showing in the default time zone. Is there paramter that is to be maintained for putting personal time zone into effect.
    Regards
    Rasheed

    Hi Rasheed,
Usually when Timezone customizations are performed, the display is only converted on the screen for the end user. The actual data in DB still refers to System time zone... This conversion (Display) is supported for only a few objects like Notifications, confirmations and orders... Usually objects like change documents, logs, archived data and workcenter data does not have this conversion functionality...
In this case, i dont think we have timestamp in MB51 as its only posting dates that get logged... You can consider posting a query in MM forum to get answers on customizations but from a security standpoint i dont think we have any way to attain this requirement....

  • Q10 Notifications time do not correctly follow providers timezone

    Hello,
Ever since I traveled to Venezuela whos time zone is 4.5 hours Caracas time, I've had problems with the time on my Q10. I set my providers date and time automatically and it does. The problem is that all my messages in Hub arrive with a difference in time of 4 hours and a half. Also my calendar is off notifying me by 4.5 hours. I have talked to my provider and blackberry support and they say they cant help me. Has this happen to any one? Please help me

    Hi adventureboy,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your Calendar notifications.
If you create the appointment using your local device Calendar (as apposed to your Exchange one) does the same notification issue occur?
When you are creating the Calendar appointment, are you manually changing the Time Zone to reflect the time or using the device Time Zone to create the appointment?
    Thanks!
