Timecode.cpp-1014, premiere keeps crashing?
Hello,
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6.01. I have been working on a project hassle-free for about 2 weeks now. The other day, after I have been working in Encore (I did NOT link the PPro Project, but rather I exported the video files first), suddenly my Premiere Pro project keeps crashing. Every time I open the project, as soon as all media has loaded, it has a Timecode.cpp-1014 error. Strangely, I am not capturing any footage (from what I have read about this error). Here is a screen shot of this error:
It always pops up twice like that. Then, once I click continue, it has this error:
and then Premiere Pro closes.
I also notice the red "x" in the bottom right corner of the screen, and before I close Premiere, I click it and it pops up saying, "An input violation has occurred!"
My sequence settings are: AVC-Intra 100 1080i 60Hz, 29.97 frames/second, 1920 x 1080 square pixels, upper fields first, 30fps drop-frame Timecode.
In my project, I have the above footage (AVCHD, from a Canon Vixia Hf G10), footage from my iPhone 4s, linked audio from Audition, and linked animations from After Effects.
My computer has the following specs:
Intel i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium
16BM Ram
3TB Hard drive space, on 2 hard drives'
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series, 1024MB
750-watt power supply, Cooler Master GX750W
Any advice/help would be much appreciated!
Zack
I'm working on a feature length doc (I have footage from over 100 shoot days), and I'm having similar problems that seem to center around a "master project" I'm importing projects into. I create a project for each shoot date where I will log/sync footage from that day, but then also sometimes I play around and edit footage together (into squences saved with that day's project). I'm creating the "master project" by importing the 100+ daily project files, so I can retain the keywords I've assigned and the bin structure. The goal is to be able to search through my footage in the master project by using (among other things) keywords and logging info, and begin editing my scenes together using footage from over the 100 days.
Unfortunately this master project crashes all the time... it's blatantly unuseable. I should note that some of the already-edited-scenes are were edited in Final Cut, and imported as squences (i.e. FCP XML).
Either Premiere can't handle all the linking that's going on, or it can't handle that amount of footage... either way I don't know what to do.

Help with the awful Timecode.cpp-1014 crash
Hello dear fellow Adobe users.
First the technical layout:
Hardware: iMac (Late 2012 - 27") 3,2 GHz Interl Core i5 - 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
Project HDD: LACIE 8TB Raid-disk connected with Thunderbolt.
Software: Running Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.0 - Mighty Kilt) on OS X - 10.8.5 (12F45)
I've edited a documentary now for over 6 months on this machine, adding various media types but mainly sticking to my standard Quicktimne Prores LT and HQ. The sequence is a standard DSLR-preset (1080p - 25fps) but I've been adding media with mixed framerate and audio-specs. And this has worked like a charm for 30 versions (incremenally saved project files).
Suddenly today, this following message starts popping up:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/mightykilt/shared/adobe/MediaCore/ASL/Foundation/Make/Mac/../.. /Src/Timecode.cpp-1014]
I gathered yesterdays project-file from an online backup system I'm running, but to my dismay - the same message appears shortly after I start editing again. I've even tried to open even older versions of the project, with the same error encountered.
So far, I've tried:
* Deleting the temp/cache files
* Reinnstalling Premiere Pro CS6
* Rebooting several times
* Unplugged all USB-peripherals (project disk excluded)
If anyone has anything that can guide me out of this nightmare - I would appreciate it tremendously.
All the best from a desperate Premiere-user from NorwayUpdate for anyone else who's struggeling with this:
Nothing worked. I tried everything under the sun and the program version seemed to fail with the project file - even old versions of the project! So I guess it had something to do with all the different media (formats, timecodes and filetypes). Still a horrible and quite serious error on Adobe and Premiere's part - not having the backbone to handle such a error when it occurs. For any reason, you should get really concrete reasons why a project fails and a solid way to fix it.
Here, it just said; "Timecode.cpp-1014". That is really a unprofessional way to behave, being a professional software.
After installing the CS6.0.5 update, the same error occured every time. But after installing CC and importing the project there, I'm happy to repport that I've not had one crash or error-message.
Maybe it was all a way to get me to buy the CC-version. Who knows. My iPhone always seem to get a faulty battery a couple of weeks after the new version arrives...
So conclusion: the project will open and work in CC, but continues to fail and crash in all versions of CS6 on multiple machines. -
Premiere Elements Timecode.cpp-1014 error when adding media
Software: Premiere elements 11
Camera: Sony DCR TRV22E
OS: Windows 7
When selecting add media I get: [..\..\Src\Timecode.cpp-1014] error multiple times, when the capture window eventually comes up it says the capture device is offline.
This happens not only when the camera is connected and powered but also when camera is not connected.
I have tried the different IEEE1394 drivers available in windows 7 and none of them work.
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)
VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
The connection to the camera through firewire is ok because I can download video from it using Nero Video Essentials, I just cannot do it through Premiere Elements 11.

Oops, I put the wrong error code in the title, it should be timecode.cpp-1014There is absolutely no reason you can't use this camcorder with Premiere Elements. It's a miniDV! There's clearly something going on with your computer that's unrelated to Premiere Elements.
For instance, this appears to be a European camcorder. Is your program installed for PAL rather than NTSC? It's an obvious question but one that needs to be asked.
Also, PLEASE try using the free program WinDV to capture your video over a FireWire connection. If it does,we know something is wrong with your Premiere Elements installation. If not, we know it's something more basic.
Nero, by the way, it notorious for not sharing certain hardware resources. I've never known it to block access to the FireWire -- but I suppose it's possible.
So, please, instead of just flipping off Premiere Elements, do a little basic troubleshooting. Problems with a FireWire/miniDV capture are virtually unheard of, and I'm really curious what's going on with your system! -
Adobe Premiere keeps crashing upon start up and in the middle of edits.
I have been through some technical assistance with your team. But it seems I've found more on the forums in relation
to my computer and what I need to make sure is up to date and yadda yadda.
I open my project and it will crash consistently, annoyingly. It seems to happen with an AVI file.
Here's the video specs
Here's my hardware.
I'm up to date on almost everything else. Any tips for me to keep this app running and actually functional?
Thanks,
Jeremy
(CC customer)I have read through quite a bit of all of this info. I don't necessarily want to buy anything extra unless I absolutely have to.
It's a strange camera that's for sure, Emerson has no website or support online. I will see if I can find a disc or possibly
just plug the camera into this computer and see if it gives me the CODEC. What about GSPOT?
Is this specifically what's crashing my Premiere? I have yet to try anything without that AVI/MJPEG file yet. It seems that
it handles the 264 just fine, it's the silly MJPEG that's kicking my butt. I read that it may have been corrupted
somewhere along the way. If that's true do I need to just scrap the file? -
Over the last few days, my Premiere Pro (CS6 Creative Cloud) has crashed nearly 30 times.
It's crashing seems completely unrelated to anything I'm doing as earlier I left my iMac alone for a few minutes and when i returned it had crashed.
I'm using a brand new iMac and have no idea why this keeps happening.
I'm still in the first month of my CC contract and I'm wondering if its worth cancelling because it's really inconvenient.
Anyone else having similar problems?
When I was using the trail version I had an issue where it would crash every time I tried to export but now it's happening far more frequently and at seemingly random points.
Thanks
SpencerYes, I don't know Tweetdeck but to get back to 'standard' configuration you should disable, (shut them down so they don't show up in the even temporarily, 3rd party apps that may be needing resources on a constant basis, beyond major packages like Adobe. I've even found that I encountered more crashes than I was expecting when I was running Chrome at the same time as Pr. A good rule of thumb is to try and keep your editing suite 'stand alone' (I know, it's never really only running itself), while using it. I don't run mail, browsers, or anything but Adobe's apps and underlying untilities when running Pr. I have a second machine for my 'office' activity. If I have to fireup Dropbox or a browser, I close the project at the very least, but usually close Pr for the time being. Activity monitor is what I use to check on these processes. I get rid of Chrome, Dropbox, Rosetta Stone Daemon, and especially any Microsoft processes, since they often are old from people running old versions of Office or even Entourage.
Thanks about the info on the keying software. Since I moved to Pr last year, I've not done any keying, so was unfamiliar with whether that was Adobe native or not. BCC for example, on FCP, was "native' to the package but still third party licensed so they were not built by Apple internal teams. Sony Vegas gives away New Blue, but it's buggy as heck, even though it's supposedly 'Vegas recommended', and not buildt by Vegas teams. It's more likely that any third party apps shipped with the core product have been significantly tested by the manufacturer, but that's not always the case.
One last thing that is worth a thought. I have found that crashes seem to occur more often after I've gone a long period of time using sleep mode. I often sleep my editing computer throughout the day, and sometimes even overnight. I've gone as long as 30 days in sleep mode, but found that after a crash, if I reboot the machine, that the next crash is usually a long way away, like weeks. Might be about clearing caches that are only cleared on machine reboot. It seems to make a difference in my setup, and that's an experience over multiple machines, over multiple months. -
Exporting large file premiere keeps crashing
I am exporting the 26 minute file as a h264 1080p 25 with a VBR 1 pass (only because it seems to usually crash with a 2 pass) and have reduced the Target Bitrate to 32 with a maximum nitrate of 40. estimated file sizes 6036 MB. its too large for what i want, as i will need to be able to put it in vimeo, so i wanted highest possible quality before i turn it into a file for web...
Anyway i haven't even be able to get past the first base as yet. I have made three attempts to export at the high quality, and when i come back to it 2and half hours later!!! the file is corrupt.
Any suggestions would be most welcome....
thanks in advance
LeolaI don't think I understand the question... you say crashing, but do you mean the program quits, or that it produces a corrupt file?

Premiere keeps crashing after installing BCC Continuum Complete
Hi,
I just downloaded and installed the BCC Continuum Complete plug-in for Adobe and I need to use one of it`s effects on my footage - BCC Flickering Fixer. When I attempt to apply the effect, everything works at first, but then:
a) Premiere crashes after a minute or two
b) Premiere (or AME) crash when I try to export the footage, somewhat in the middle of the process.
Interesting part is that I did export two videos with the effect applied, after that programs just stopped working.
If I export the video without BCC effects, everything works just fine.
I would more than appreciate any suggestions about what might be wrong. Might it be my computer just too slow for such a complicated effect?
Technical specifications of the comp and system I am using:
OS X: Mavericks, Version 10.9
processor: 2.6GHz Intel Core i7
memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Thank you in advance.
Best,
AlinaAlina,
Check to see if Boris has new versions of their plug-ins for OS X 10.9 Mavericks. I have the same setup as you with no issues, except for Mavericks. Hope that helps.

My Premiere keeps crashing every time I click export.
I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina with Mountain Lion. This just started happening today after I started using new footage in a project. The footage is H264 Mov and Mp4. However, I have mixed codecs before with no problems.
The link below is about OSX, but it may give you some ideas

I have just downloaded adobe premiere on recommendation from a fellow film maker and want to try it compared to final cut. As soon as I import any video footage it crashes with a fatal error.

MXF Footage - Premiere keeps crashing
Hello,
Working on a new Mac Pro / 10.9.3 (from what I understand, this is the problem)
I have a 1080p 29,97 project, with MFX footage. After a few playbacks, Premiere freezes and crashes.
I tried removing the hardware acceleration, but that changes nothing.
Sometimes I'll get green & purple glitches - sometimes just a hard crash with a pop up saying "Premiere has experienced a serious error"
Is there anything I can do?
ThanksHey Thomas,
Here are settings used for the project: -

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

I have a licence for CC and recently the programme has started to crash on a very regular basis. Either the programme totally fails to respond and I need to force quit, or it freezes on one frame and allows me scrub through, but won't display anything but that one frame.

The most common problem (happening approx every half an hour now) is the screen freezing on one frame. As I said - I can still save the project and I can scrub through and hear it, but it won't play.
I dont know if this makes a difference but I have a second monitor which is full screen, so I have the Enable Transmit feature on. I presume that wont make a difference? -
Premiere keep crashing, Premiere keep crashing
I have a licence for CC and recently the programme has started to crash on a very regular basis. Either the programme totally fails to respond and I need to force quit, or it freezes on one frame and allows me scrub through, but won't display anything but that one frame.
I have a late 2012 Mac Mini with Yosemite 10.10.3.

Why does adobe premiere keep crashing when I am trying to burn a dvd
Help
You should try checking at the adobe support site. Premiere is not an Apple product so you, most likely, won't find help for an adobe product here.

PPro cs6 error timecode.cpp-1014
A PPro cs6 project I was nearly done with started giving me a popup window when opening the project:
I hit the continue button and it carries on as if nothing had happened. So.... what's it mean? What can/should I do about it?
For what it's worth, I just made the final release candidate disk for this project. Which makes me wonder.... I didn't get this until after I had dynamically linked this project to Encore cs6 to do the DVD thing. The proximity of the error to using Encore with this project makes me wonder.... and PPro and Encore did fight a lot about the chapter markers (I set them up in PPro and exported them to Encore, even learned how to do a manual reloading of the chapter markers in Encore "from the source" as it's called).
In any case, the disk looks perfect; I couldn't find anything wrong with it at all. Client is going to watch it end-to-end also, and exercise the menus too. Then it's off to the duplicator. But I'd like to fix this weirdness before I archive the project. I don't want it to bite me in the tail when I have to open this project back up to make a new trailer or teaser, or if the client decides to make a blu-ray edition.
Win7
Production Premium cs6
Sources in AVCHD (1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps, progressive)
Output to DVD (widescreen, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps)
Project also uses AE (for motion lower thirds) and Audition, but neither of these has caused (or felt) a problem AFAIK. Project also uses a handful of stills processed in Photoshop.
