Timed out repeatedly

I've been getting the 'the network connection timed out' message repeatedly for the last day.
I recently downloaded and made firefox my default browser . At ~ the same time I upgraded itunes from 7.3 to 7.3.1.
Is itunes down?
Is it firefox?
Is it firefox + 7.3.1
Any other ideas?

The first thing to think about if you can't connect to the store after an ugrade is your firewall.
Try briefly disabling your security software, which is not too dangerous is you connect to the internet via a router.
If you can connect with the firewall disabled, then this tells you you need to configure your firewall to allow the new version of iTunes access to the internt.
There are many different firewalls so I can't give exact instructions. If this is a problem post the name of your firewall and someone will probably be able to help. I have Norton 2005.

Try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

I am trying to update the iPhone 3GS to IOS5. At download i get an error - network timed out. Repeated tried several times. Is there an issue with the Apple Update Server or too much rush ? How do i update my phone using iTunes?

I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP! Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process. Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal. No flashing yellow screen anymore!!

Downloading Itunes 5.0.1 keeps timing out. Repeatedly. Why?

Trying to update itouch with 5.0.1 and it keeps timing out. pretty certain it is mot my end. Anyone else getting this and what it the solution?

Try disabling the computer's security software (antivirus and firewall) during the download and update.

In times of slow Internet, Thunderbird repeatedly says sending timed out, but it actually sends, resulting in multiple emails.

That about sums it up. I feel very unprofessional when it happens. Can I determine from within Thunderbird when it sends or doesn't send? How can I fix it? Is there a way to tell Thunderbird to prevent multiple identical emails?
When it times out, it won't appear in the Sent folder. Right now, to see if these timed-out emails actually sent, I have to open my web interface to gmail, which is the only place it'll show a complete roster of sent email. (I don't like the web interface, which is why I have Thunderbird in the first place.)

Thank you. After referring to these articles and checking the gmail settings, the SMTP appears to be correct. Also, this only happens when I have very slow speeds, and at all other times, Thunderbird does exactly what I expect it to do with outgoing email.

2. All reports are uploaded to CMC (SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI, Product: 12.1.0)
3. using Front-End .net Winform
4. Crystal Report is binding is done using Business View Manager (since having more than one databases)
5. Business View Manager Connects to Oracle using "Oracle Server" connection

1. I have checked stored procedure running through oracle for more than 10 minutes (1 hr, 2 hrs)
2. Tried simply running crystal report without front-end running perfectly more than 10 minutes (1 hr, 2 hr)
3. When i run .net winform application for specific reports which takes long time, gives "Request timed out because there has been no reply from the server in 600000"
Also i have done lot much R&D and spent almost weeks to get resolution but not getting any solution out of it, please help me in this case

This error is specific to RAS. The default CORBA request timeout is 10 minute = 600000 ms. When the RAS SDK does not get the reponse back from RAS server in 600000 ms it throws this message. Why it works in InfoView\CMC what I believe you refer to as "Front End' application is because InfoView\ CMC don't use RAS.
1. First make sure that a smaller report wich runs pretty fast ( 1-2 min) works. This will confirm that there is no connectivitiy issues between RAS and RAS SDK.
2. If you get the efrror for every single report, even the smaller ones, make sure the box running RAS and RAS SDK code( in case they are 2 different) can ping each other with IP, shortname and FQDN. If there is a firewall between them, the RAS port needs to be opened for bidirectional communication. By default RAS chooses a random port for communication with SDK but within CMC you can configure it to use a specific port and open it.
3. If the issue is specific only to reports that are long running, typically more than 10 minutes, then you need to inclease the CORBA timeout to a value more than what the reports typically would take to process. This is done on client code side or IIS in this case.
Here are the steps:
Make the following changes on the application server/system.
Open RegEdit by going to Start > Run and typing in regedit.exe. Then click Ok.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Report Application Server\Client SDK\CorbaAdapter
Change the value of SendRequestTimeout(ms) to 100000.
Change the value of WaitReplyTimeout(ms) to 6,000,000 ms. The default value is 600,000 ms and may not be long enough.
Restart IIS by going to Start > Run and typing in iisreset. Then click Ok.
Retry the failing application.

HT201303 Trying to put credit card details in put it keeps telling me that my session has timed out

Have an existing apple account and now have bought new iPad
Trying to buy new apps on existing account so it asks me to verify payment details which I do straight away.
However then it says that the session has timed out.
Trying repeatedly but same problems over again.

Log out of the account, then go back in. Should work fine then.

Every time I try to purchase a song, "session has timed out" shows up after I click "agree" to the terms!? I seem to be in the exact same scenario as 'SportsBarn' above: Itunes support have replied repeatedly with the same "solutions" but nothing has helped or even been applicable. I have an older laptop, 2005 Powerbook running OS X 10.4 Tiger so it's not compatible with the latest iTunes 10.5.2 which requires minimum OS X 10.5. I've been using the balance already in my iTunes account (from redeemed giftcards over the past few years) with no problem, until recently (my last successful purchase was October 2011). I wonder if it's the older OS or just a redemption glitch even with newer computers?

Network connection timed out (Error -3259)

I've been REPEATEDLY getting "Network connection timed out (Error -3259) for two specific TV shows I'm trying to download. Other shows and songs are downloading just fine, which indicates there is nothing wrong with the network.
I have already tried deleting the temporary files from the DOWNLOADS folder, but no luck.
I have also tried restarting these two epispodes DOZENS of times.
I've heard from various web sites that Itunes will not work properly with internet service from Time Warner. Is this true? I have no way to change my ISP as TW is all that's available to me.
Since the series is sequential, I want my money back for all the episodes after the first one I can't download, or to make alternate arrangements to FTP the files directly rather than using the Itunes Store. How do I go about doing this?

TCP active open: Failed connect() Error: Connection timed out

There is one message which can't be delieved to the recepient with error " TCP active open: Failed connect() Error: Connection timed out" This is the error that we found in the mail.log_current file.
I have no problem sending email to the same address from my hotmail account.

The message can only mean one thing. Your server cannot connect to that host.
It's possible that the remote system is lying to your Messaging Server, and that's gotten it confused. Some firewalls do this by repeating the entire capability string from the server behind them, but can't actually handle all the capabilities.
PIX firewalls do this.
When you connect, they pretend to be able to "startls", but if you try, they hang up. They appear to handle "EHLO", but when you try, they hang up.
You can put debugging on the tcp_local channel, and see the actual conversation, if you like.
master_debug and slave_debug go into the imta.cnf definition line. MM_DEBUG=5 goes at the end of your option.dat file.

will attempt to send the message. You will want to back the changes out, as you'll get lots of extra log files you really don't need.
Post the log file, and we can see what's happening.

Closed Conncetion and Conncetion Timed Out

This is Naveen, My application is behaving differently recently. My application uses 2 types of connections. Connection through weblogic connection pool and another one is normal connection (DBManager.getConncetion).
Both are working fine. But recently (from 2009 starting ) while using normal connection, i am getting these following exceptions repeatedly.
1. Closed Conncetion 2. Conncetion Timed Out 3. IO exception
We had gone through each and every line of code and found no issues. Please help me to resolve this issue. Is there any drivers problem, do i need to update the jdbc driver ? Thanks in advance

To the point: your code should acquire AND close the connection in the shortest possible scope. Do NOT get hold of it as (static) instance variable.
If you stucks, have your code reviewed by an experienced developer.

Hi PI gurus,
Need some suggestions on one issue below -
Scenario - proxy (SAP) to SOAP (Web based system)
In the RWB Communication Channel Monitirong we are receiving the below error
" Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK"
the request from XI system is going to target system and printing the lables (as per the functionality) with no issues but the comminication channel is giving the above error and this is causing the repeated sending the same request to target sytem and the data is printing repeateadly. This issues is occuring in Quality environment.
Strangley the same Interface with the same connectivity details is working fine in Development environment. But not working in Quality environment. Checked the firewalls settings on both in XI and Target system side and confirmed that everything is fine.
Below are the Logs both from Quality and developement are as follows

IPhone/iPad connection error after first login ok: The request timed out. (-1001)

I have installed SAP 9.0 PL 12, DI API all version, Integration Component of the SAP 9.0 PL12.
On my iPhone I have the 1.10.1 version of the app SAP.
I followed the directions provided in the note (also in 1602674) and in the forum, but nothing.
I start my PC (server with integration installed), do all the tests possible dall'integration admin and I always correct results.
Start app from my iphone, it connects to my DB but.... after a few minutes I get the error
"Connection Failed - The request timed out. (-1001)"
and then throws me out of the db.
If I try to reconnect, re-entering the password I have always the same error.
To reconnect, I have to restart the PC and the situation repeats itself (is the first logon, then I get the error and I can not reconnect).
Can anyone help me?

Update: I only changed the startup type of the service DI Proxy, Event, Integration, and instead of putting 'Automatic' I selected 'Automatic (Delayed Start)'.
I rebooted the server and I was able to connect the iPhone via app to my DB: I was about an hour, I created BP, made changes, displayed report.
I then did the logoff.
I tried to reconnect but nothing is returned the error 'Connection Failed - The request timed out. (-1001)'.
Even after restarting the server again, the app connects after about two minutes I get the error 'Connection Failed - The request timed out. (-1001)' and is no longer relates only after you restart the server.
