Timeline navigation in the newest version of Final Cut Pro.

I have upgraded to the newest version of Final Cut Pro. What happened to the slider at the bottom of the timeline that moves my project on the time line?  It's not there and it's harder to navigate the time line without it.

Have you double clicked on a project to open it in the timeline? If the timeline zoom/appearance controls are missing when you load a project onto the timeline then I would think that either you should delete your prefs or redownload the app.  But wait for someoine with more points than me  to answer b4 you actually redownlaod it.

  • How do I continue editing a project from the trial version of final cut pro to the paid version

I have been working on a project on the trial version of final cut pro x.  I  bought the full version even though my trial wasn't up yet.  When I opened the paid version my projects from the trial are not in there.  I also closed the trial and opening the paid version and my projects were still not there.  How do I get my projects to show in the paid version?

I have a 'similar' problem, but your advice above does not work (or does not seem to work).  My Trail version of Final Cut Pro 10.1.1 expired before I completed my first/only movie project.
I purchased FCP yesterday.  Now I want to "import" the video files and the movie project (not sure if that's the correct terminology - I am still a newbie) into FCP 10.1.1 -  Please advise?

What is the oldest version of Final Cut Pro HD that supports clips from Panasonic P2 Cameras?

You must have 5.0.4 or later.
    Nothing earlier will work:

  • Can I transfer a project from the trial version of Final Cut Pro X to the Full version

Can I transfer a project from the trial version of Final Cut Pro X to the Full version which I have now downloaded.

The trial version is named "Final Cut Pro Trial" and the App Store version is called "Final Cut Pro".
So, they can both be in the Applications folder at the same time, but only one can be open/launched at a time.
If, for some reason, your trial is older (like version 10.0.4) that your newly purchased FCPX (should be 10.0.5), and you do not click Update to your events/Projects, they will NOT show in the bought version!
Open the licensed FCPX and make sure it does update your things, in case it asks for it!

It says: There is no application set to open the document “FinalCutProTrial10.0.6.dmg.crdownload”,
when I try to click on the file.  It has downloaded completely.

  • Can I import projects from the full version of Final Cut Pro X from when I was using the trial version?

So I recently purchased the full edition of Final Cut Pro X, and was wondering why one of the projects I was working on at the time it expired imported back into FCP without asking me, but the other did not.  I really need to use this file, but it is in the format of .fcpproject, so I really don't understand why I am not able to use it.  It sometimes says when I try to open it that the version of that project was made in an updated version of FCP, or something to that affect, so it cannot be used.  I have no idea why it says this, because as far as I know that is un-true.  Any ideas?
Edit:  I also don't want to delete the trial yet, a little apprehensive, like maybe I need it.  But I might if it comes to that.  I suppose the time did run out so it is practically worth nothing...

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

  • Can the first version of Final Cut Pro X (10.0) run on Mavericks?

I purchased Final Cut Pro a while ago when it was first new, but I had been locked out of that account, so I couldn't update it. My question to you is can I run Final Cut Pro X 10.0 on Mavericks?

Delete Final Cut Pro X completely by using Final Cut Remover from here: Digital Rebellion
    empty trash
Log into Mac App Store and Install FCP X, the latest version will be installed

  • What is the latest version of Final Cut Pro or Express for PPC G5

I think I am to the point that iDVD and iMovie don't help. Do I have any FCP options available?

Final Cut Studio 2...that includes FCP 6. But finding it to buy NOW will be tricky. Pretty much only eBay at this point.

  • What are the steps for buying Final Cut Pro X and downloading a full version.i have a license certificate, but i cant be able to license the trial version

How do i download a full version of Final Cut Pro.I have the license agreement with the serial numbers.but now i am unable to license the trial. What needs to be done here.I was sent the license agreement by our Head Office

Do you refer to Final Cut Pro as part of The Final Cut Studio bundle?
    Or FCP X?
The former has serial numbers, the later is a direct purchase from the Apple App Store and no serial number is required.

  • I have Final Cut Studio 2 which I've never installed. Can I upgrade it to the latest version of Final Cut Studio?

I have Final Cut Studio 2, which I've never installed. Can I upgrade it to the latest version of Final Cut Studio, or would I need to buy the latest version?
    Thanks, Caoim

As an alternative, you could purchase FCP-X, which isn't an upgrade; it's a completely new application.  To quote Apple; "It's revolutionary!"  To quote me; "It blows!"
BTW, Final Cut Studio 2009 was also known as FCS 3.  You might be able to find an upgrade version on ebay or craigslist.

  • I am having issues with new version of Final Cut Pro, is there away to download the last version so I can finish my projects?

I am having major issues with the new version of Final Cut x, I have missing clips and my computer is locking up, I need to finish some projects so is there away to go back to the last version before the new update?

Not unless you have saved a copy of the previous version; also, any libraries that you have updated to use in the newer version will not be usable in the older version anyway.
Rather than going back you should try and figure out what is wrong. The current version works great for most users. Start by clearing your preferences: hold down command and option keys while starting FCP X, and confirm when asked. Many different issues can often be solved by just that.
In case it doesn't solve, please provide more detailed information like OS version, Ram, drive and connection, etc

  • How can I replace the trial version of Final cut in german language in another in english?

Hi, I downloaded from this address, http://www.apple.com/it/finalcutpro/trial/
the trial version of Final Cut.
When I opened the program, I discovered that it was a version in german language.
Before to buy the programm, from the trial version I would like understand better how it works.
    Many thanks.
    Alessandro

    FCPX has 5 languages internally:
English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese (no Italian nor Spain) ...
It switches automatically to your System's pref language ..
Another option is this handy tool (for free):
    http://www.tj-hd.co.uk/en-gb/languageswitcher/
which allows to set any app to any built-in language, indepentdently of OS-language ...

  • Which version of Final Cut Pro will work with Mac Book 10.75?

I can not put Final Cut Pro 9 on my Mac Book 10.75 (Lion).
Which version of Final Cut Pro will run on Mac Book 10.75 (Lion).
    Thanks

    Ok, first, your questions's answers:
FCS1 had a full version & an upgrade from any version of FCP. You only need the serial # handy when installing FCS upgrade.
Now FCS2 has TWO upgrade versions: one was for FCS1 ($499), the other was from any version of FCP ($699).
NOTE: Academic and Not-For-Resale (NFR) versions are not eligible for upgrade.
    http://gizmodo.com/252425/apple-rolls-out-final-cut-studio-2-first-impressions
Here's something else to consider: with the march away from the PPC as a whole & your upgrade cost to FCS3 is $299, I would be very careful how much you spend for the older copies.
If FCS1 or 2 is too hard to come by or cost what it did originally (or more), you may want to consider picking up a (used or new) Intel Mac with ATI or Nvidia graphics. even the newest mini might surpise you & get you by until you can afford something else.
    Good luck!
