Timelines Out of Order On Play All

I created a DVD with two timelines in Encore 1.0. I created the timelines in the order they need to play back. The resulting DVD reverses the order of the timelines and I can't understand why. I have chapters menu that works perfectly. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have Encore CS3 and the same problem.  The timelines are written to the DVD in the order I created them, but I need to reorder them.
Okay, no problem.  Create new timelines and copy and paste from the old to the new.  But wait!  According to the KB I can't copy-and-paste.  At all.
So basically I have to delete my timelines, recreate them in the proper order, place the assets in the timelines, set up the chapters, and set the buttons up so that they do what they should.  All over again.
Can someone please confirm that I'm not missing somthing blindingly obvious and that this is indeed the proper technique to reorder timelines, before I go redo 3/4 of my project?

  • Tracks out of order when playing album through Remote Web Access

When you choose an album (CD if you want) in Remote Web Access and play it, the tracks don't play in the original order.  You can drag and drop to reorder them, but you have to know the right order.  Is there a way to fix this or is this just a
failing of the Remote Web Access software?  Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same issue. Ever find a solution for this?

  • Scripting Play All Button Question

Is there a way when I script a play all button, that at the end of playing each track individually, the button for the follow track is highlighted?
    Thanks.

    Eric,
There are several ways to optimize Play All through different aspect clips, depending on the project type.
One method is to conform the assets - though, this depends on the ratio of 4:3 to wide footage, and other factors - if you only have a couple of 4:3 assets, then you can make them wide (black on either side), and nestle them in with all the other wide clips in a single Track. You could also put them in another Track by themselves (still make them wide, and set for Pan and Scan - not failing to stripe the mpeg assets with the P&S centering vectors with John Brisbin's "Mpeg Append Force Pan and Scan"; that way the footage displays properly pillar bar'd on 16:9 TVs and full-screen on 4:3 TVs).
If you have more or less equal number of different footage aspects, you can order your 'Play All' sequence to play through all the Wide Footage in one Track first and then jump to the other Track with all the 4:3 footage lined up in there (prepared for wide and set for Pan and Scan, as outlined above, so the clips aren't stretched out when presented on wide displays), and play them all the way through. I do have a procedure I use to make the jump from the first Track to the second super compatible with even marginal players, which prevents the back and forth jump.
There are other ways, as well; again, depending on project parameters (and of course, wether Hal "got to 'em first" and had them script the twenty separate Tracks for Play All! ).
Heck, *you don't even need a single script to set a project up to Play All through 20 Tracks (or any supported number), and then to have those same Tracks be switched to single play mode for targeting from their respective buttons on the menu. Zero scripts.* Play 20 Tracks in the order you define, or singly play any of the same 20 Tracks and return to the menu and proper button. But it's still better to put all the clips in a single Track and go with Stories.
I have a start of an article on this whole question, and hopefully I'll be able to post it soon. My SPRM table I mentioned in another thread was delayed because of the games in NY (I'm based in Philly :- ), that will be up by Monday (feels good saying it!).
Oh, and one correction to my reply above; When I said a Track is an entire 'Video Title Set Menu Domain', while true, all Tracks and Slideshows include such a structure; I should have said a Track is an entire 'Video Title Set'. It was late (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it :- )

  • How to play all the songs in my library

I have problems with the configuration of iTunes, it only play the songs that have the selection mark, and I don't know how to change the configuration in order to play all the songs in my library. Please, if someone know how to change this configuration, answer this message. Thanks!

There are several ways around this that work much better than unchecking stuff since you will still want to be able to play this in iTunes automatically.
One way is to manually manage the iPod...
    Managing content manually on iPod
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148
which will let you simply drag into the iPod the stuff you want or select and delete from the iPod the stuff you want off. The downside of manual updating is that play counts and ratings you set in the iPod are not synced back to your library.
The other method is to use Playlists and Smart Playlists and set your iPod sync preferences to sync only the playlists you want. See this post of mine from earlier today that tells one way to set up a Smart Playlist to be just the right size for your iPod...

  • Video and audio not sync when i play all forms of video. from music videos, to tv shows. but they play perfect on my iPod. and tv shows display out of order on iPod, but in correct order on iTunes/computer. I even ran a virus check just to make sure.

audio and video do not syncronize.  all forms of videos. music videos to tv shows.  what do i need to do the syncronize them again
they are in sync on iPod, but not on computer.
another issue that might be from the same cause is, the order of episodes of the tv shows i have downloaded,   they appear in order on computer, but on iPod they show out of order.
any tips on how to fix this would very much help.
    thank you.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.
Make sure all the software on your computer is up to date...
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
    Updating iPod's Software
You will then need to restore the iPod and then let iTunes update your iPod and put your music, videos, etc. back onto your iPod...

  • The music I sync into my iPod touch is all literally out of order and in the library it's not. Why is this?

I checked the starting time for songs in the library and on my iPod and they all say 0:00. What I mean when I say it's out of order is for example, the first ten seconds are skipped and placed somewhere in the middle of the song and some other parts are skipped then played later. I didn't have this problem before I updated iTunes for my new iPod, now when I tried syncing onto my old iPod as well, the same thing happens. So there's nothing wrong with my iPod. I want to know how I can fix this on iTunes or if it's just a glitch on my iTunes?

Something you can try is resetting it all Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Or go to Settings > Store & sign out & log back in. Another thing you can do is restore your ipod. This has happened to me but the only thing i did was that i created a new account but try doing the things above i just told you. :)

  • My I-Pod plays all podcast in reverse order such as 3.2.1 no matter how I arrange them in I-Tunes.  How do I get my I-Pod to play in the proper 1,2,3 sequence?

My 3rd gen I-Pod plays all podcast in reverse order, even if I manually try to load it.  I will only automatically play in 3,2,1 order.  Even brought it to the Apple Store and they couldn't figure it out either.  Even bought another I-Pod and still plays in reverse order.  Any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance for any help, Ty

They did not order the podcasts correctly in the playlist then.  Several people, including myself, have been able to play podcasts in sequential order.
When viewing the playlist in iTunes, look to the far left of each episode. There should be a number next to it.  This is the ordering of the playlist.  Sort the playlist in sequential order and view the numbering along the leftmost column and see if the ordering matches up as desired. If they don't, you'll need to drag and drop tracks until they are.
Once the ordering is as desired, right->click on the playlist and choose Copy to Play Order. Then resync the playlist over to your iPod.

  • Clips are out of order when drug to Timeline

I was working with final cut pro, showing a friend how to use it and ran into a problem that has never happened when I've used it on my machine. We did log and capture, and captured the video. then I went Mark-> DV Start/Stop Detect. From there I selected the first segment and the last segment and drug them to the timeline. once in the time line they were all out of order. Usually they are placed in the time line 1 through 80 or however many there are, one after another. There is nothing else in the time line. When I drug them this time they would be arranged in all different orders. Anyone have any idea whats going on with this?
    Thanks in advance.
    TY

It goes by the Track # field, as seen in on a list in iTunes.  So, make sure the Track # field is correctly entered for each song when you review the album on a list in iTunes.  Also, make sure the Album field is entered identically for all the songs on the album.
You can edit those fields by doing a Get Info on a song, and going to the Info windows's Info tab,

  • ITunes playing tracks out of order

Ever since upgrading to iTunes 11 I've had a problem with some albums playing tracks out of order.
I put the track number in the file names and track titles, so sometimes I leave the track number field blank. Not a problem, because iTunes sorts the tracks alphabetically so it lists them in the right order.
In album view, if I select the first track, it plays all the tracks in the right order. But if I select the album, either by double-clicking the album cover or by searching for it from the mini player, it plays them in a random order.
This makes no sense. What's going on here?

So that's an obvious solution (and what I just did in this particular case). But it's an annoying bit of extra work and, more importantly, since it was never necessary before, I have a lot of albums which don't have track numbers. Because, as I said, they always displayed and played in the correct order regardless. So the track number tag was extraneous.
What I'm wondering is whether there's a fix for this behavior.
And also whether it's possible to implore the iTunes development team to fix this! If the tracks are listed in a certain order, they should always play in that order.

  • All the songs are out of order on my albums. Does anyone know why?

On almost every album on my iPad the songs are out of order. Yesterday I deleted 6 of the albums, synced to iTunes and reinstalled them. When I opened them on the iPad they were in the correct order. I closed the iPad and ran an errand, came back and open the iPad again only to see all the songs once again out of order. I can't figure out what the problem is. I don't have this problem on my iPhone or either of my iPods, only on the iPad. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Have you tried creating a playlist for your album, then
    select the playlist in iTunes.
    right-click the playlist name -> select +copy to play order+. -> sync.

  • One track played out of order

I've noticed this problem since one of the last updates: I have my settings on shuffle by album and the albums normally play from 1 to the end. However, certain albums skip a track in the middle and play it last. ex. 1-4, 6-10, 5 (My Morning Jacket, Z) It doesn't do this with every album, but quite a few. I've messed with the settings and album info, but can't find anything that would explain why it does this. And it does it on both my mac and PC...
    I'd appreciate any suggestions!
mac book and dell   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Alright- figured it out.  Each out of order track had an "album artist" filled in (a field under artist when you click "Get info) and the others just just had "artist" filled in.  By filling in an "album artist" on all the tracks in addition to the already filled in "artist" field, I got them to arrange themselves properly in the album order.  I assume blanking out the "album artist" field on the tracks that had it also might have worked.  I think the key is making sure all the meta-data is exactly the same.
Just posting this for the sake of anyone googling for answers to the same issue.

  • Playing songs out of order

Recently and for no apparent reason my NANO began playing songs out of order in my playlists. It happens on all playlists. It doesn't jump from list to list just changes the order within the list itself. It is shuffling the songs because it if you view the playlist that is playing the songs are in the correct order, it just skips around.

Your shuffle setting on the iPod is probably changed from OFF to "Songs" which will cause the iPod to shuffle any playlist you play on the iPod. Go to main menu of the iPod -> Settings and check.

  • Songs Play Out of Order

When I try to play music through iTunes, the songs play out of order. It jumps around to random songs instead of playing a full album or artist in the order the songs appear on the screen. I do not have "shuffle" turned on. I don't know if this has anything to do with the little checkboxes next to the song name, but some are checked and others aren't, and I can't figure out how to control that either. Some tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

So I'm going to have to go into my playlists and enter in track numbers? WEAK! I've made playlists of audio recordings, etc., that were not on CD, so they have no track numbers, then just plugged in some graphics as "album art."
All because apple didn't forsee that some people would have made their own playlists and given it an "album art" graphic? That's a rather obvious thing, isn't it?

  • IPhone 4 playing pieces of songs out of order

My iPhone 4 is doing something that I can't even wrap my head around. When I try to add music from iTunes to my iPhone, everything seems to transfer fine. But when I go to play a song on the phone, the song will play with pieces of the song out of order. So for example, when I start the song, it will start playing the music that is 0:30 into the song, keep playing that segment for a minute or so, then play a chunk from the end of the song, then play a bit from the beginning of the song. I've tried multiple songs from multiple artists and multiple sources (songs downloaded from iTunes, ripped from CDs, etc) and I keep getting the same issue. The songs all play fine when I play from iTunes. It's just that when I play from the phone, they get all crazy.
I've updated iTunes and the iPhone, restarted the phone and my computer, tried all of those basic troubleshooting methods. Assuming you even understand the issue I'm trying to describe, does anyone have any suggestions for getting this fixed? I can't even make a guess as to what is causing this.
Thanks for any help you can give.

The same is happening to me, too. It plays 10+ seconds into the song, then it plays the beginning, then it plays back to where the interruption happened, then it plays a section later in the song, then back to the interruption, then when the song ends, it plays another part of the song that was missed.

  • ITunes is playing tracks out of order

With the new iTunes update all the tracks for my albums are out of order.  This really poses a problem when playing Broadway soundtracks (I kind of like to hear the show in order).
Is there an easy fix for this?

I also have this problem when in album "grid" view. iTunes plays the songs totally out of orded, but NOT by shuffling. (I've made sure the "shuffle" function is turned off). The order it plays the songs is screwed up, but non-random. I.e it's the same everytime.
Just like the previous poster, I've also assigned numbers to each track title, and they're organized correctly in each album. It's just that iTunes seems to ignore the order of the songs, and jumps between albums.
This is NOT good for my OCD!
