TimeMachine migrates to the wrong date. How do I specifiy which date to migrate from?

Recently, my MacBook Pro 2011 unibody, 10.7.5 crashed due to bad sectors. After installing a new a hard drive, I preformed a restore via the migration assistance. It all went well except that it restored to not the latest date.
The cause of this is was because I had a few backups in the Timemachine that are dated far into the future, such as 2015, 2016,etc. They were made when I switched the system time to the future in order to disable some applications that were giving me problems. Right when I did this, the time machine made a backup and now those backups are always considered the "latest" backups.
So my question is, how do I preform a FULL restore using migration to a specified date, instead of what it thinks is the "latest" backup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I at first thought it might be a Mac thing, but I couldn't find a solution. I realized that the date only affected my email, so then I thought it must be a Mozilla problem.

  • Photos on my Mac show the wrong date when imported from a portable Hard Drive

I’ve got loads of photos that I had imported from my old PC.Last night I decided to start going through them and trying to get them sorted
prior to importing into iphoto. I discovered that some of the pictures (in particular ones I have taken from my old Iphone) all had the same date and time
assigned to them. When I checked the Exif details, it listed the correct camera etc, but the date created seems to have changed to the date I copied them to my portable hard drive.
I thought this was strange as when they were on my PC I thought they were correct. I booted my PC up and checked the portable hard drive on Windows. When viewed on my PC the pictures all have the correct time and date assigned to them. However when I plug the same portable hard drive into my Mac the same files show up as being created on a more recent date (say 20th Jan 2013).
I’ve done a lot of research last night, although I can find no forum with this exact problem, I feel it must have something to do with compatibility. The portable hard drive is FAT32, and I am assuming that in order to ensure all of the photos information is transferred correctly in needs to be NTFS.
The problem I have is how do I transfer my files again from my PC to an NTFS drive, whilst keeping all of the correct date and time information assigned to the photos. My understanding is that the 2 aren’t compatible.
Has anyone ever had this problem? It mainly seems to be with photos I have extracted from my Iphone or edited in some form by rotating them.
I have a 13" Macbook Pro Retina with OSX Mavericks installed.

What you may want to do is archive as a Zipfile the photos and then transfer them to the Mac.     It is possible some of the metadata is being lost on the FAT32 formatting.    USB Flashdrive might work better than a FAT32 formatted hard drive, as I do know that most USB Flashdrives are formatted about the same as SD media cards, which manage to preserve the data when copied from camera to Mac.    My big question is, do you still have the photos on media cards?  You might just want to get a media card reader on your Mac, if the photos are not on SD cards, and transfer them over with the media card reader.
I do believe Retina MacBook Pros all have SD card readers built-in.
Note: I've asked this be moved to the MacBook Pro forum.  MacBook without the secondary name refers to the consumer notebook Apple stopped making in 2011.

  • Calendar app icon is displaying the wrong date

For some reason on my iPhone's homescreen the icon for the Calendar app has today started displaying the wrong date.
It should show today's date, Monday 6th but instead it reads Sunday 5th.
What confuses me is that the phone does know the date is Monday 6th as the lock screen shows it correctly and also when I actually load the Calendar app it starts on the right date. Also, when I load the multi task bar the Calendar app icon there is correct. See the attached photo, which shows the Calendar app on the home screen (faded, middle left) displaying yesterdays date Sunday 5th, while the app icon in the multi task bar is correct, Monday 6th.
Syncing the calendar with my iMac does not correct the error. Equally, turning the phone off and on again has not sorted it.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the fault? And more importantly how to correct it?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion DaVBMan, sadly it didn't work. The only thing that did work was to wait until midnight and it corrected itself. In the mind of the phone it lived a whole day twice and then skipped one completely in order to get back on track. Very odd and also I have since discovered it has happened to a few of my friends too.
It's not happened again so I have no idea what so ever what caused it. Fingers crossed it never recurs.

  • Why do I get the wrong date on my photos and emails?

All my photos in iphoto and emails are coming up with the wrong date. Why is this and how can I correct it?
I have made sure that the computer's date and time are ok.

  • Access Table displays the wrong data

I have successfully used Migration Workbench to migrate my tables and data into an oracle 10g database.
I chose Modify Access Database from the MWB options in order to continue to use Access as the Frontend.
At this point the forms do not work.
What I noticed is that the oracle link tables _R have the wrong data in them when opened via Access.  But if I query the oracle db the data is correct.  I added a primary key but this did not help. Any suggestions ?
Also I had to re load the code modules that run the application they disappeared during the migration process. Is that normal?
    Thanks for your help

The table had the wrong columns and the wrong data, basically it was mapped to the wrong table.
I checked the properties from the table detail window, much more helpful than right clicking on the object and choosing properties which only show you the DSN connection. The detailed description as shown below shows the table is incorrect
    ODBC;DSN=marilyn2;DBQ=ORCL ;DBA=W;APA=T;EXC=F;FEN=T;QTO=T;FRC=10;FDL=10;LOB=T;RST=T;GDE=F;FRL=F;BAM=IfAllSuccessful;MTS=F;MDI=F;CSR=F;FWC=F;PFC=10;TLO=0;;TABLE=BODYSHOP_EXTRACT.CONTRACTS_INFORMATION_TABLE.
Can I just delete the linked table and import the correct table using Link Manager? Or do I need to use OMWB & Modify Access through the tool?
    Last question for today thanks

  • TS2446 my ipod touch locked after several attempts with the wrong password. how to i reset?

my ipod touch locked after several attempts with the wrong password. how do i reset the password.

If it's showing the disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • SimpleDateFormat gives the wrong date

    Hi
I'm retreiving a java.sql.Date, and using a SimpleDateFormat("dd.MM.yyyy") to format it. For some reason, some of my users (located in other countries) end up with the wrong dates (it's an applet)and others don't. Any similar experiences/thoughts?

Thanks for the info....I'm using 1.3, so that's unlikely to be it.
I narrowed it down to a timezone problem difference problem between my applet and the server. Does anyone know how I can get an applet to behave like it's in a different timezone. Is there a single place I can set it (like maybe a System.setTimezone or something?). I don't want to go around messing with my Locales in every single Date or Calendar object I use. I just need my applets to think they're running in the same timezone as the server. Any similar experiences/quick fixes?

  • Calendar List view shows entries under the wrong date

I just upgraded to iOS4 and finding that my calendar entries are appearing under the wrong date in the calendar list view when I am viewing two calendars.
    - List view is ok when viewing 1 calendar
    - Day and Month views are ok at all times (ie: viewing single or multiple calendars)
    - I have 2 Exchange accounts
    - Calendar entries are appearing in the correct order, but under the incorrect date heading.
    - When I intially added the Exchange accounts the calendar list view was fine at first (I could see both calendars correctly in list view) but after a short time later it became screwed up.
    Anyone else experience this?

Same problem here since my upgrade to iOS4 - but I only noticed today.
I have 3 calendars set up:
    Gmail (Exchange)
    UK Holidays (iCal)
    Birthdays
The exchange calendar is always wrong but the other two are correct when my exchange calendar is switched off.
It has mucked up my scheduling a bit for the next month. I only became suspicious when I noticed the Scottish Bank Holiday Monday at the beginning of August was showing on FRIDAY, 30th of July!

  • PDF saving with the wrong date

When I save a file, it saves with the wrong date: it is off by 5 years and 1 day and the time is completely wrong. This has been happening for months and has not been fixed by installing newer versions of Adobe Reader (I currently have version 10.1.7). The date/time on my computer is fine and Microsoft Word documents save with the right date & time...

I'm actually having a similar problem with the computers that are used at my work, though not with a 5 year difference; Our pdfs get saved as if it were 2 days previous.  We  use mostly AutoCAD and print to PDF.  The pdf gets saved to a shared drive, but everything else that we save on that drive (word documents, excel spreadsheets, AutoCAD files, etc.) have the correct date.  I checked to see if maybe it had something to do with the time stamp server settings, but we don't have a server set up.  The time on all of our computers is also set to the current date and time.  We do sometimes save pdfs from outlook, from clients, but have the problem regardless of if we were using outlook or not.  It's not a terribly huge deal, but sometimes we check to see when pdfs were updated versus their corresponding drawings and it gets confusing when the date is off.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

i am Unable to trace this
    any help plzzz
    Anil

    Hi,
since Quantity(units PC??) can not be in decimals,Bex will round off 1.5 to 2 in bex report.
Use NODIM function i.e. NODIM(Qty) instead of Quantity.
NODIM function is available under data functions of Formula builder.
From context menu fo KF structure>new formula>NODIM(Qty).
    or
try by setting Decimal places to  2 or 3 in KF properties in Bex Query.
    hope this helps.

    Thanks again.
When you log into you icloud account on your computer you are viewing data that you sync to icloud not the backups.  You can't view the backups.
Look at the two links I provided.
You still didn't answer any of my two questions I asked.
