Timeout and PO status become Incomplete

Hi,
PO approval workflow has been configured according to documentation in Metalink to
1) send reminder#1 after 2 days
2) reminder#2 2 days after reminder#1
3) Auto route to next approval level 2 days after reminder#2
The problem is, point 3 will change PO status to 'Incomplete' if it is already at the highest approval level and there is no next approval level in the hierarchy. Has anyone encounter that? Is this the standard feature of timeout for PO approval?
If it is the standard feature of timeout for workflow, is there a workaround where auto routing can be stopped 1 level before the highest approval level?
Thank you.

Hi Allison,
Thanks for your reply. I've checked the web site you give, it's not the same problem I encounter.
My PR is not in in-process status, it is in incomplete status as if it is a new PR. This happens when the PR has been auto escalated to the highest level in the hierarchy. Guess it doesn't know where to auto escalate to once it reaches the highest level so it changes to incomplete - back to PR requestor.
Anyone encounter this problem? Or is there a workaround where we can stop auto-escalation once it reaches the highest level in the hierarchy? Appreciate any help/suggestion.
Regards.

  • Status of Info packages and process changes become yellow after Unicode con

    Dear Friends,
We have been facing very critical issue in Production system after Unicode conversion.
Sequences of Details are provided for your reference.
    1.  We suspended all BW loads for 48(2 days) hours before Unicode starts and Handover the BW system to Basis.
    2.  Basis started doing Unicode conversion on BW and they found some standard jobs ( BI_* , Ex: BI_PROCESS_LOADING) which are released status and they assumed that these jobs would run any time so that they suspended all of them but they didnu2019t inform to BW team that they had done. We didnu2019t know that when they did that like pre-Unicode installation, during the Unicode conversion and post Unicode.
    3. Basis handover the system to BW team for Unicode testing (we called five finger testing) and we didnu2019t find any issues in the testing. Again we handover the system to Basis for post installations settings for Unicode and back up things. That time we didnu2019t release any jobs to load data to BW because Basis didnu2019t inform us that we can start loads.
    4. After post installation is done and basis told us that you can start loads from Monday. Entire Unicode activity had been done on weekend.
    5. Before releasing all BW loads to run regularly, I found the all completed process chains status become yellow and I did further detailed analysis to find why; then found some more strange things those are as follows.
              1. Only info packages in process chains are become yellow and other process variants are fine like activation,
                   DTPu2019s, index and DB stats.
              2. Requests in PSA which were completed successfully are become yellow.
              3. Info packages in the process chains are successfully completed are not updating correct status instead of green it
showing yellow because of that other dependent objects are not triggering.
We all thought that suspension of standard jobs must have been caused the problem.
How can we change the status of IPs, PSA and process chains automatically?
We reactivate all PCu2019s and released to run tomorrow.
Could you please share your thoughts about the issue and help us resolve?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nageswar.

    Nageswar,
    A couple of questions :
    1. If your previous  PC runs were in yellow status - it would not impact furute PC runs..
    2. If your IPAKs are in yellow - then you might have an issue with deltas happening since the last status would have been shown as incomplete.
    3. Suspension of the standard jobs will not affect the status since the jobs were suspended but not the actual loads i.e the loads were not stopped halfway but only the released jobs were stopped - you might have to schedule the process chains again to get back the old schedule.
Usually in a Unicode conversion - the data is exported out of the DB and imported back - this might have caused some inconsistency in the database for the RS tables used for the monitors.
Which version of BW are you in ..?
were there any errors in the export / import procedure for unicode conversion ?
As part of testing did you check if loads went through properly ..?
Was stats run on the tables after unicode ?
Also if possible regenerate all the indices on the files.
Rerun stats and indices for all RS* tables

  • Need help with cluster rs and rg status

    Hello,
Many a times I found, when my resource is configured a little incorrectly, then when I enable the Resource (RG is already online)
    then
resource status and status message becomes "*Starting*" " *Unknown Starting*" respectively and resource group Status becomes "*Pending Online*"
In this case it happens that Resource groups fails over from one node to other and then atttempts to restart the RG/RS but as the resource is configured incorrectly, it will never be online.
Is there any solution to stop cluster processes to stop doing this and just make everything offline immediately rather than waiting for cluster processes to give up after long long time.
If you need any other information from, please let me know.
    Please help!
    Thanks!!

That is a quite complex question. In a nutshell and this is only my understanding:
quiesce - stops the RG and prevents it from restarting and failover; afterwards it is still under cluster control
suspend - is more moving a RG out of cluster control, so that you can fiddle with the resources without the cluster interfering with this work. At the end you have to resume RG. The details from the man page - see the -k option, which i had forgotten in my original reply.
quiesce: This command stops a resource group from continuously
switching from one node or zone to another node or zone
if a START or STOP method fails.
Use the -k option to kill methods that are running on
behalf of resources in the affected resource groups. If
you do not specify the -k option, methods are allowed to
continue running until they exit or exceed their config-
    ured timeout.
    suspend:
Suspends the automatic recovery actions on and quiesces
    the specified resource group....
A suspended resource group is not automatically res-
tarted or failed over until you explicitly issue the
command that resumes automatic recovery. Whether online
or offline, suspended data services remain in their
    current state.
THere might be some subtleties that need to be explored.

  • Shipping status becomes backordered even when item is present in inventory

    Hi,
1.The shipping status becomes 'Back ordered' after pick ship release process.
    2.The onhand quantity form(inventory-->on-hand,Availability--->on-hand quantity)
shows zero(even when 100 qty is present) when queried for that particular item.
3.When tried increasing the quantity (inventory--->transactions-->miscellaneous transaction)it shows 100 quantity available. If i try adding more it shows the following error:
APP-INV-05647:The remote call failed because no manager was available.
    I checked the following.
1.The status of the four interface managers are active.
2.The columns for "Available" and "Target" for the Inventory Manager and the Remote Procedure Manager were not equal and tried restarting them. Even then the numbers are not equal.
    how to solve this problem?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nithya

    Hi,
Probably the quantity you are seeing in the ATP form must be reserved and so your pick release is getting backordered.
I did a quick Metalink search for your error, and the following is the result:
fact: Oracle Work In Process 11.5.3
    fact: WIPTXSFM - Move Transactions
symptom: Receive error when processing WIP transactions
symptom: APP-INV-05647 The Remote call failed because no manager was
    available
symptom: Locks for the process INVTRM in table
    MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_TEMP
cause: The cause of this problem is still undetermined.
    fix:
Update file wipsorvb.pls to version 115.26 or higher. Apply Patch 2084821 or
    later.
Someone else tried the following :
Change the following profile option :
TP:Server Side Online Processing = No
    and this solved their problem.
Try it out and check whether this resolves your issue.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Exact Difference between Total  Status And QM Status

    Hello All,
I want to know Exact Difference between Total Status in Monitor And QM Status in Data Target.when these two are going to be changed manually. i am facing a Problem.
daily delta upload is going on from R3 to BW.Today it has given a problem while loading data. please give me u r ideas on this. how this delta should be Success.By changing which status ( Total, QM status) i need to chage for deleting the failure Request , to load delta again.
    thanks in advance.
    Eswar

The global monitor queue time can be set in transaction RSCUSTV2. This is the time that the system allows to elapse before it sets a request to 'Terminated'. If the time of the last received message that logged a processing step on the monitor for this request has taken longer than the monitor queue time, the traffic light in the monitor is set to red.
If the monitor traffic light was set to red due to the queue time, this does not necessarily mean that the request can no longer be successful.
If the data is very delayed by the time it reaches BW (because the source system needs a long time for the extraction or because the link between the source system and BW was interrupted) or if the processing in BW needs a very long time in which the processing step does not log any messages on the monitor, the monitor traffic light becomes red and jumps back to yellow as soon as a new log for this request reaches the monitor. If you manually set the QM status in the monitor, this also does NOT prevent the updating of data for this request in BW! However, then the request can no longer turn green, since the manually set QM status always overrides the technical status of the monitor.
    Bye,
    Roberto

  • Status Group - Incompleteness procedure

    Hi,
    What is Incomplete Procedure and
what are all the Ticks that is given in
    General
    Delivery
    Billing ... etc.,
    will do .
    Regards,
    Kannan M

    General (Generally Incomplete):
    · This control, records certain information about the fields at header level. Ex.: PO
    number is not maintained.
    · Indicates whether the system records a status message about general information
in the header and item status screens of a sales document.
    · If you mark this status for a particular status group, the system determines the
status of general information by checking the status of fields that are assigned to
the status group in the relevant incompletion procedure. If some or all of the fields
are missing information, the status message says that the general information is,
    respectively, partially incomplete or incomplete.
    · In a sales order, for example, general information can include the customer's
purchase order number or the document date. If information is missing from
either field, the sales document is considered incomplete for further processing
and the system records an appropriate status message.
    Delivery (Incomplete for Delivery):
    · This control, records certain information about the fields. Ex.: Shipping points at
item level and issues appropriate message on the status bar.
    · Indicates whether the system records a status message about delivery information
in the header and item status screens of a sales document.
    · If you mark this status for a particular status group, the system determines the
status of delivery information by checking the status of fields that are assigned to
the status group in the relevant incompletion procedure. If some or all of the fields
are missing information, the status message says that the delivery information is,
    respectively, partially incomplete or incomplete.
    · In delivery processing the depending system function is: saving the delivery
    document.
    · You can specify, for example, that item data in a sales order is incomplete and
cannot be processed for delivery without information about a shipping point. If,
during sales order processing, the shipping point is missing, the system records an
    appropriate status message.
    · This status is valid in sales document processing as in delivery processing.
    Billing document (Incomplete for Billing):
    · This control records appropriate status message if certain billing information is
    missing. Ex.: payment terms.
    · Indicates whether the system records a status message about billing information in
the header and item status screens of a sales document.
    · If you mark this status for a particular status group, the system determines the
status of billing information by checking the status of fields that are assigned to
the status group in the relevant incompletion procedure. If some or all of the fields
are missing information, the status message says that the billing information is,
    respectively, partially incomplete or incomplete.
    · You can specify, for example, that item data in a sales order is incomplete for
billing without terms of payment information. If, during sales order processing,
the terms of payment are missing, the system records an appropriate status
    message.
    · This status is valid for sales and shipping processing.
Price (Incomplete with reference to pricing):
    · This control records appropriate information if data at item level has been missed.
    Ex.: price.
    · Indicates whether the system records a status message about pricing information in
the header and item status screens of a sales document.
    · If you mark this status for a particular status group, the system determines the status
of pricing information by checking the status of fields that are assigned to the status
group in the relevant incompletion procedure. If some or all of the fields are missing
information, the status message says that the pricing information is, respectively,
    partially incomplete or incomplete.
    · You can specify, for example, that an item in a credit or debit memo request is
incomplete if pricing has not been carried out. If you try to process the credit or debit
memo request without pricing information, the system records an appropriate status
    message.
Goods Movement (Incomplete for Goods Movement):
    · This control records appropriate message if certain information is missed at
schedule line level. Ex.: Movement types and Issued appropriate status message.
    · Specifies whether the system will issue a message on the status of the goods
movement data on the header or item status screen of a sales document.
    · If you have transferred the goods issue status into a specific status group by
selecting it, the system will determine the status of the goods movement data by
checking the fields that have been assigned to that status group in the
incompletion procedure. If data is missing in one or several of these fields, the
status message will indicate that the goods movement data is fully or partially
    incomplete.
    · For example, you can specify that the item data of a delivery is incomplete for
goods issue if the quantity picked is missing. If the quantity picked is not
specified during delivery processing, the system will issue a corresponding status
    message.
    · This status valid only for shipping documents.
Picking / Put away (Incomplete for Picking / Put away):
    · This control records appropriate status message if certain information is missed.
    Ex.: Picking.
    · Specifies whether the system will issue a picking data status message on the
header or item status screen of a sales document.
    · If you have transferred the picking status into a specific status group by selecting
it, the system will determine the picking data status by checking the fields that
have been assigned to that status group in the incompletion procedure. If data is
missing in one or several of these fields, the status message will indicate that the
document data is fully or partially incomplete.
    · For example, you can specify that the item data of a delivery is incomplete for
picking if the serial numbers have not been assigned, although this is required by
the serial number profile. If the serial numbers are required but have not been
specified during delivery processing, the system will issue a corresponding status
    message.
    · This status is only valid for shipping documents.
    Pack (Incomplete for packing):
    · This control, records appropriate status message if certain information regarding
    packing is missed.
    · Specifies whether the system will issue a packing data status message on the
header or item status screen of a sales document.
    · If you have transferred the packing status into a specific status group by selecting
it, the system will determine the packing data status by checking the fields that
have been assigned to that status group in the incompletion procedure. If data is
missing in one or several of these fields, the status message will indicate that the
packing data is fully or partially incomplete.
    · For example, you can specify that the item data of a delivery is incomplete for
packing if the external delivery identification is missing. If the external delivery
identification has not been specified during delivery processing, the system will
    issue a corresponding status message.
    · This status is only valid for shipping documents.
    Regards
    AK

  • Database connection timeouts and datasource errors

Connections in the pool randomly die overnight. Stack traces show that for some reason, the evermind driver is being used even though the MySql connection pool is specified.
Also, the evermind connection pool is saying connections aren't being closed, and the stack trace shows they're being allocated by entity beans that are definitely not left hanging around.
Sometimes we get non-serializable errors when trying to retrieve the datasource (this is only after the other errors start). Some connections returned from the pool are still good, so the application limps along.
EJBs and DAOs both use jdbc/SQLServerDSCore.
    Has anyone seen this problem?

    Rick,
OC4J 9.0.4.0.0 - BTW, do you know of any patches? As far as I know, there are no patches for the 9.0.4
    production version of OC4J stand-alone.
I'm using container managed persistence,It was not clear to me, from your previous post, that you
    are using CMP entity beans.
    I found staleness-timeout and alive-poll-query
somewhere on a website when trying to track this
down. Here's four sources:Those sources refer to OrionServer -- and an older version, too, it seems.
Like all other Oracle products that start out as somebody
else's -- including, for example, JBuilder (that became "JDeveloper"), Apache Web Server (that became "Oracle HTTP Server") and TopLink -- their development paths diverge, until, eventually, there is absolutely no similarity between them at all. Hence, the latest versions of OC4J and "OrionServer" are so different, that you cannot be sure that something that works for "OrionServer" will work for OC4J.
I recall reading something, somewhere, sometime about configuring OC4J to use different databases (other than Oracle), but I really don't remember any details (since it was not relevant to me, because we only use Oracle database). In any case, it is possible to use a non-Oracle database with OC4J.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

I've just spent a fustrating 15 minutes with Bt Support chat who just seemed want to pass me on to the BT Business team, so I thought I'd post here, for a more informed response.

Hi Jane, Thanks for the reply. I have now purchased an AEBS(n) to try to overcome this problem. The Apple site says it is compatible with all versions of Airport card so I thought it would solve the problem. My new problem is to be found here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1087292&tstart=0
However to answer your questions, The OS is 10.4.10 and I have run every updater I can find for all Macs concerned. hope this helps.

  • Re: timeouts and ExternalConnection

    Tim,
Use a Timer class of Framework library to have an explicit control over
the connection. If the end-of-stream marker is not received within a
specified interval of time, handle the situation.
ExternalConnection class does not have any timeout feature of its own,
but it would be a good idea to have one in future.

    Subject: timeouts and ExternalConnection
I am working on a Forte service that uses a socket listener (implemented
using the ExternalConnection class) to handle incoming messages. The
messages vary in length, so the code for processing each connection
loops until it finds an end-of-stream marker. If some client is
erroneously sending messages without the marker, it'll loop forever. I
would like the connection to time out if it doesn't receive any valid
messages within a fixed length of time. Is there some functionality
I've overlooked in ExternalConnection that would handle this? If not,
does anybody have an example of a good way to implement it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim

I've re-run the speed test. Here they are. Download speedachieved during the test was - 19915 Kbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12000-29036 Kbps . Additional Information: IP Profile for your line is -29036 Kbps Upload speed achieved during the test was - 3819 Kbps Additional Information: Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10000 Kbps Although the speed has dropped markedly since Saturday, its the dropouts, the VPN unable to connect and the slow respnses when trying to connect to websites quickly (DNS issue?) that is bothering me. It's not just one website that the problem is with, its any.

  • Frequent timeouts and poor performance

    Hello,
Starting this morning I'm experiencing a lot of timeouts and performance issues with my SQL Azure DB (located in West US), causing several Azure hosted services to fail. I've checked everything I can think of and it nothing shows a clear problem with our
databases. I'm not seeing anything on the dashboard, but can't help but wonder if there is an issue going on that hasn't been detected.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue?
    Thanks,
    -Fabio

    Hi Fabio,
I work on the Cotega monitoring service for SQL Azure and I can also confirm that we saw a few customer who we notified of performance issues with SQL Azure as well.
Now that I write this, I am wondering if it might be worth adding to the service a page that lets anyone see the historical performance of SQL Azure based on aggregated data from all of the customers databases that we currently monitor.  I wonder if
that would be useful for situations like this?

  • SQL Timeouts and Blocking Locks

    SQL Timeouts and Blocking Locks
Just wanted to check in and see if anyone here has feedback on application settings, ColdFusion settings, JBOSS settings or other settings that could help to limit or remove SQL Timeouts and blocking locks on SID's.
We're using MS SQL 2000 with JBOSS and IIS5.
We've been seeing the following error in our logs that starts blocking locks in SQL:
java.sql.SQLException: [newScale] [SQLServer JDBC Drive] [SQLServer] Lock request time out period exceeded.
Once this happens, we're hosed until we remove the blocking SID in SQL.  These are the connections to the application.
Any feedback would be great.  Thanks!

    Hi
    This is your exact solution:
    Select a.username, a.sid, a.serial#, b.id1, c.sql_text
    From v$session a, v$lock b, v$sqltext c
Where b.id1 in( Select distinct e.id1
    from v$session d , v$lock e
    where d.lockwait = e.kaddr ) and
    a.sid = b.sid and
    c.hash_value = a.sql_hash_value and
    b.request =0;
    Thanks

  • Session timeout and custom sso

    Hi,
can anyone tell me how the session and idle timeout feature in Apex exactly works?
I built several applications in a workspace and do a sso authorization by setting a common cookie name. In addition to that i set the values for session length and idle timeout and assumed that the session length would be synchronized over all applications. But this doesn't seem to work. For instance, i set the idle timeout to 10 minutes in all applications and now i work for 15 minutes continously in application A and after that i switch over to application B (using the same session id!), the session is already expired in B.
Is this behavior correct? And, if yes, how can i set up a synchronization over all applications?
