Timeout in ESB and Integration Builder

Hi,
The Enterprise Service Builder, Runtime Workbench and Integration Builder browser will time out after a certain time limit. Can someone point me to where these default times can be changed in the NWA for PI 7.1?
I searched and found one thread on this, but it was not answered.

Hi Rick,
Actually this is the BASIS issue.
Logon to PI system and execute the transaction RZ10 and choose the profile instance and select the Extended maintanance radio button and click on display then you will get the ...j2ee_timeout parameter there you can increase the value.

you can unlock your user and use the same user after unlocking.
Go to SU01 and unlock your user. If you dont have access to SU01 contact your Basis/Security team so that they could be able to do it for you.

Where-Used between ESR and Integration Builder

Hello everyone,
i am wondering if there is a possibility of finding out where and if esr-content is used in the Integration Builder (Conf.time)?
I often face the problem that i have got ESR-Content in front of me, where i don't know if, and if yes, where this content, for example a Service Interface, is used in Configuration-Time!
How can i determine this?

in ID use following path..
Object--> Find.
it will open search requirement window..
in that select receiver determination if you want to check outbound service interface from IR.. or select Interface determination in case you want to check for inbound service interface..
suppose in IR side you have outbound service interface : CreateCustomerOutbound
then in ID go to find and select receiver determination and in interface provide CreateCustomerOutbound
this will search all scenario where CreateCustomerOutbound is being used .. likewise you can narrow it down in Find option to get the required results in less time..
but no direct method for search..

The launching time of integration builder is extremely longer

Dear XI experts
I will tell you our story.
When I execute Demo examples (Chapter 5.1.3 Executing and Testing XI 3.0 Demo Examples Configuration)
We got the error STRING_BAD_REF dump when starting BSP application, I found out the solution : SAP Note Number : 869197
We did upgrade to a 6.40 kernel patch level 48 as mentioned in the SAP note.
After that, whenever I launch (start) the integration builder, it takes for ages.

Ironically the websites related to Java engine pop up as usual, such as SLD, Java start page and so on. Also after few minutes I can get the integration builder in front of my eyes. However, whenever I try to create objects or call some information from the server it also takes time.
Which part do I need to look at in details?

Launch Integration Builder - Checking version

I have recently received a new laptop at work.
When I launch the Integration Builder: Design and Integration Builder: Configuration from the web page, it says checking for latest version before actually launching the application and this takes ages.
Is there anyway to stop this happening. It didn't do this on my old machine.
We are on XI3.0 (sp12), I am have JAVA 1.4.2_08 on my machine.

try moving content of 2 folders from:
C:\Documents and Settings\youruser\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\javaws\cache\http\DXISERVER\PJ2eeport
to some other location
when next time you'll log to IB java will be loaded again
and this may help you

Ap;plication help from ESR or Integration Builder

Hi,
We have PI7.1 installed and the Application Help is working from the ABAP side. However, the Application Help is disabled in Enterprise Services Builder and Integration Builder (java side). I have not found any documentation on how to enable the Application Help.
Can someone point me in the right direction on enabling the Application Help from the Java side (in the Integration Builder or Enterprise Services Builder)?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

See the SAP note #839880 'Documentation link on XI 3.0 Tools page'. Check the attached pdf document for steps necessary. The note is geared towards XI 3.0 but I think all the necessary steps are identical in PI 7.10.
Then enter whatever URL you wish. For example:

Timeout Integration Builder XI/PI?

Hi,
we have since a few weeks the following problem:
After starting Integration Builder (Design and Configuration) you can do everything. If you want to change enything after a while you have done nothing you get the message "You are not authorized for this action". It seems to be a timeout but we can't find the place we can change it.
Does anybody know what could be the problem here?

It couldn't be a broken connection, because everybody has this problem after a while.
So I think it must be something like a timeout here.
In our Development and Test-system we don't have this problem, only in production.
We have this error every time if we don't use the application for longer than 30 minutes.

Authorisation in integration and configuration builder

Hello,
I wonder how you can set up authorisation within the integration and configuraion builder ? I mean authorisation (security) at the level of 'Party' or 'service' in the configuration builder or 'SWC' or namespace within SWC' in the integration builder. I want certain XI developers to be responsible for 1 or more parties (or 1 or more SWC) and other XI developers for other parties and/or 'SWC'. Is this possible within XI ?
I see in the configuration builder, you can make a 'user role' (which is not copied back to the ABAP stack) but how can you add users to this user role and how to add this role to a party or business system ?

The example is made on the integration directory but I created a role in the configuration builder so I guess I will be able to use it their aswell; Thanks a lot ....

Integrating ESB and BPEL to transmit the data

Hi,
We are integrating few sub systems like when a new employee as joined the organization we will enter those information in a HRMS system where those information will be transmitted to the ESB server where ESB should carry this message and pass it to the other sub systems like security gateway system, Coupon Mgt System , etc. In those systems we need to have a BPEL to process the employee details that is carried out by ESB. Based on the emplyee details, the BPEL process should write the business logic to provide access to various blocks in the oganization as well as provide the coupon for the user. This is the design we have comeup with. Since i am new to this. Please tell me how we can proceed with this. How we can integrate ESB and BPEL? Please provide some links or examples in how we can go about. Which will be really helpful.

General idea looks good. What version are we talking about here? I'm assuming 11g... and when you say ESB I'm not sure if you are talking about OSB (ALSB) or other product, or ESB as an general idea...
Stuff to think about:
those information will be transmitted to the ESB serverHow? Will the HRMS system call a webservice? Trigger a file? Or the HRMS system has to be polled?
ESB should carry this message and pass it to the other sub systemsYou have to check the capabilities of your other systems, do they provide web service interfaces? will you need access to those systems internal databases? etc
How we can integrate ESB and BPEL?If you are talking about OSB, they integrate via web service calls

Force Integration Builder (Design and Configuration) language to be English

Hi Experts!
Does anyone know how to force the Integration Builder (Design and Configuration) language to be English? Since SSO is configured the logon screen do not appear and users can not choose the language they want. The problem is that the default language is German instead of English.

However, nothing changed. Maybe I have to restart all the J2EE Engine?

Change background color - Integration Builder and others

Hello all,
Does anyone know how to change the background color displayed in the Integration Builder and other Java stack components of XI?
We have a company policy that each different landscape (Dev, QA, Prod, etc) has a different background color in order to minimise the risk of mistakes (ie making an entry / setting in the wrong system).
For the SAPGui components this is easy to do (just registry entries), but how can this be done for Java stack components?
Any ideas appreciated (including other ways of highlighting which system you are on if differnt colors are not possible).

the top tab of the IB tools (IR, ID)
you have server + instance number there
with ID you will have different object names (business systems)
for IR different authorizations (DEV, PRD...)

ESB and SAP integration

Hi Gurus,
We have a scenario, a third party system sending msg to Enterprise Service Bus which then send the idocs to SAP event management system.
For this we need to establish a aconnection between ESB and SAP event management servers.
Can someone please help in making this connection.
Which ports needs to be opened?

my understanding is that SAP event management system is an R3 / ECC system (is it?)
Anyway if the system is capable of receiving IDocs then follow this;
Sent/Receive IDOC:
you need to do the following:
In XI
SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3
IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.
In R3
SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI
WE21 - define the port with the above dest.
WE20 - Partner profile type outbound/Inbound

Testing the water on possible Flash Professional and Flash Builder integration

Hey,
I just wanted to throw this out here instead of the bug area to see if I'm off my rocker or I'm on to something.
Basically one of my major pains is that any application design I do, I do it in Flash Pro and I code in FB. Switching back and forth between apps just to press CTRL + ENTER seems like a) a waste of time and b) a waste of system resources.
So what I'm proposing is having FB integrate with FLA files.
When you create your product you have the option to specify a target FLA (or multiple with a build order) so that when you test your project it will actually build your FLAs in order (in the situation that the final SWF requires others) and you're off to the races.
You could also have the currently associated FLA files have a checkbox next to them which could temporally disable them for a build.
If you still need to make design tweaks later on, it's a mater of opening Flash and doing them, but it would be so slick to be able to have FB render the FLA for you in the same app (no more random CTRL+ENTER in FB anymore!)
As far as where it could go. I think it would work the best if it was just a new tab that could be added to the perspective. Would allow drag+drop of FLA files to it, drag+drop ordering and also have the checkboxes to disable any FLAs from the build.
So there we go, does that sound like a decent workflow?

Have you considered Testing the water on doing your design work in the new Flash Catalyst software http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcatalyst/ for your skins instead of Flash CS4.
You would be able to export directly in the new FXG format and integrate it directly in your FB4 coding.
There is a tremendous productivity potential gain there.
I am planning to abandon eventually completely Flash CS4 for both design and coding and substitute it eventually by simultaneously working in FB4(coding) and Flash Catalyst(design) with input symbols directly linked to photoshop and illustrator related files.

Another reason for this error can be lack of resources or pool size of the server. The recommended settings for the Pool size are :
Max Pool size : 50
Max connections : 100
Connection Timeout : 10 sec
Max wait time : 30 sec"
Can you tell me where i can configurate this settings? (step by step)
