Tested calling this PL/SQL API (exactly the same API CALLED in BPEL) in TOAD and this ran for 20 mts in DB.
With the changes(sync-time-out,global transaction time, hpptd.conf, and transaction-manager.xml ) in SOA configuration then we are getting the exception ..
So, we need help with SOA configuration to get the BPEL service working when the API called within BPEL service is taking approximately 20 mts.

So, we need help with SOA configuration to get the BPEL service working when the API called within BPEL service is taking approximately 20 mts.

  • Capturing error messages from Oracle EBS APIs when using Oracle Apps Adapter

We are using Oracle applications adapter to call Oracle EBS (both R11.5 and R12) APIs. I want to understand the best practice around error handling when using Oracle Apps Adapter to call Oracle EBS.
    Here are some observations:
    1. Most of the APIs return X_RETURN_STATUS and X_MSG_DATA containing the status and messages if any.
    2. If the MSG COUNT is 1 then X_MSG_DATA contains the message, if MSG COUNT is > 1. X_MSG_DATA is empty.
We know that when calling the API directly from PL/SQL, we need to loop through FND_MSG_PUB to fetch all messages when there are more than 1. How do we achieve the same using Apps Adapter as Apps Adapter generates the PL/SQL block to call the API dynamically at runtime.
In some APIs, which have table/rec types as input or output parameters, Apps Adapter generates a wrapper package to do conversion from SQL--> PL/SQL and viceversa. In this case the adapter calls the custom package generated which internally calls the API. For these APIs we were able to put the logic to loop through FND_MSG_PUB and return a concatenated string as value of X_MSG_DATA.
But what should we do for the APIs which do NOT have a rec/table type as input or output, in which case the Apps Adapter directly calls the API and there is no intermediate custom package?
    How are others handling this?

  • Error while running BPEL Process with Oracle Apps Adapter.

    Hi All,
I am trying to configure the oracle apps adapter in JDeveloper.
Here my EBS is running on different database where as SOA is installed on different database.
I am able to properly configure the adapter & deploy the process to weblogic server.
But when I am trying to run the process I am getting following errorr.
    <p>
The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510\nJCA Resource Adapter location error.\nUnable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/>\nThe JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='*<JNDI Name passed in Oracle apps Adapter.>*'.\nThe reason for this is most likely that either \n 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or \n 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to <JNDI Name passed in Oracle apps Adapter.>
    </p>
Please suggest the solution for the same.
its really urgent . waiting for reply.

Have you created a connection pool with the JNDI specified while configuring adapter in Oracle Apps adapter on weblogic admin console. You should create it at Deployments --> OracleAppsAdapter --> Configuration--> Outbound Connection pools
Make sure to update the adapter after creating a connection pool so that changes can take effect.

  • CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED-calling service request api from oracle apps adapter

We are doing integration between Siebel and Oracle Apps. When a service request is created on Siebel we are passing that in Oracle Apps using Oracle Apps adapter which is calling a custom API which is doing all the validations and in turn is calling a public api for service request creation. There are two types of service requests - Field Service and Depot Repair. For Field Service we are able to successfully insert the data on Oracle Apps, but for Depot Repair we are getting an error 'CSD CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED' from the standard API.
We have checked the setup and found it is proper. We invoked the pl/sql API from sql developer and we are able to insert the data. So we are facing this issue only when calling the api from oracle apps adapter.
In the invoke call we have set these properties -
    jca.apps.RespApplication
    jca.apps.Responsibility
    jca.apps.Username
Based on our analysis till now it is looking like a security context setup issue, but we are not really sure what properties to set.
Any help in getting this through will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shantanu

    Hi Vijay,
We have created the apps adapter with default settings as 'apps' user and set the properties Responsibility, RespApplication, Username of <invoke>. Other than that no other settings has been changed.
    Are we missing anything?
This adapter is able to hit the database in case of 'Field Service' but it is failing for 'Depot Repair'.

    Hi all,
i have exactly the same error and use the same applications and adapters.
    i don't know what's wrong.
i thing the connection pool can open the connection to the database, but cannot write anythin in the database. maybe the Table cannot be found, but it's only a guess.
Any other idea or maybe a solution?

  • Can we call and execute a request set using db adapter or oracle apps adapt

    Hi,
Can we call and execute a request set(which executes a set of packages in a sequence) using db adapter or oracle apps adapter similar to calling a stored procedure and concurrent program?
    thanks,
    RV

    1) In BPEL call the DBAdapter in a sequence, make sure you set the partnerlink 'property' to transaction=participate.
    2) Or create a package that calls the other packages in a sequence

  • Not able to integrate SOA Suite with EBS using Oracle APPS Adapter

    Hi,
We need to listen to outbound business events of Oracle EBS using BES via Oracle APPS Adapter.
We have created a composite containing Oracle Application Adapter and BPEL Process.
In Apps adapter when configured Outbound Business events "oracle.apps.bom.component.modified" using Dequeue Operation,a corresponding subscriber is created in WF_BPEL_Q for respective event selected.
    In Oracle EBS
for "oracle.apps.bom.component.modified" status is enabled and in subscription WF_BPEL_QAGENT is there.
When we are changing any BOM component in Oracle EBS Designer and saving it, a record is being created in "WF_BPEL_QTAB".
BPEL Process( Oracle Apps Adapter Partner Link---> Recieve Actvity ) instances are not being created when any BOM component is being changed.
Oracle Apps Adapter is not able to dequeue the data from WF_BPEL_QTAB.
There is not any error/exception in oracle soa suite server logs for Oracle APPS adapter.

We would like to capture a few business events in oracle BOM and PO that are of interest to us. In order to do this,
we deploy oracle SOA composite with BEPL in the Oracle Fusion Middleware Control. The oracle SOA composite is configured for a particular outbound business event. It should listens on a specific queue WF_BPEL_Q or WF_BPEL_QTAB and de-queues the messages from that Oracle Queue or Oracle AQ Table. In jDeveloper 11g we created a SOA project with oracle applications adapter partner link and a receive.
Specifically we are trying to capture the business outbound event oracle.apps.bom.component.modified just to get the event data in this receive.
Partner link configuration: We added the database connection to the oracle EBS instance. Tested it and we
succeded. Chose ANY_SCHEMA in partner link configuration.
We ensured that the JNDI Name here( eis/Apps/Apps ) match the JNDI name provided in the weblogic-->Deployments--
OracleAppsAdapter -->Configuration --> Outbound Connection Pools. For this outbound resource pool, Connection factory interface was javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory. Property name xADataSourceName was mapped to JNDI name of the configured JDBC datasource in the weblogic. When we created the connection pool. We tested and it worked fine. This data source had the connection pool configured to the oracle applications schema with APPS user.
After adding the partner link with the above configuration, we added a receive. We deployed this configuration to the middleware. We went to the oracle EBS modified a BOM component and we expected to having running BPEL instances against the deloyed composite. However, the problem is we are not having any running instance for the composite.
We found that there are entries in the view AQ$WF_BPEL_QTAB with an ENQ_TIME and ENQ_TIMESTAMP but with no DEQ_TIME or DEQ_TIMESTAMP. The ENQ_TIMESTAMP corresponds to the time we modified BOM in oracle BOM forms/Designer
The data is being written in WF_BPEL_QTAB for the BOM changes but not being dequeued by oracle applications adapter/composites deployed in soa server.
Please help me it quite urgent.
Is there anything we are missing on EBS side to be activited. for the events to be dequeued
    Any Help is appreciated.

  • Unable to create Oracle Apps Adapter whose API parameters are Records

    Hi All,
I face an issue in creating an Apps adapter whose API parameter's are of type Records. From previous posts I came to know that its one of the bug in JPublisher.
I'm new to this term. Can you please provide how to create this adapter?
Exception raised: The Wrapper procedure could not be found in the package for the schema.
    Thanks
    Karthick

where are you getting this error ? Sometimes some API's cannot be called from Oracle Apps Adapter, will be getting some JPublisher Error, try configuring the same API from Database Adapter, this workaround works sometimes....
If you get the error in a different instance while it was working in earlier instance, read further...
Generally when you are working with the oracle apps adapter, and for any API, the input paramaters are record types, there will be a wrapper package created for the API you have configured. So, this error comes when you migrate the composite to a different instance, make sure you have moved that wrapper package also to the new database instance, if you do that, this error will go.
    Hope this helps,

The user opens Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer. The user then opens Discoverer in another Internet Explorer windows and receives the following error: Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe abnormal program termination
As a work around, I installed Firefox on those user's machines. These users run Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer and run Discoverer in FireFox. This has solved the problem in 99% of the cases. However, there is one user who is having FireFox using Discoverer freeze when running Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer.
Can anyone provide any insight on how I can solve these conflict issues so users can run Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Carlos

    Hi Michael,
I agree with you completely. It is reccommended to run 10g on a separate physical server unless you have sufficient resources to run on the same server (which even most large clients do not) Even then, I would recommend a separate server.
I should have put my comment in context :-)
a.) I was only stating that it was possible
    and
b.) whether 10g is installed on the same physical server or separate should not affect the client browser crashing issue that was posted.
I do have an install with EBS11i and Discoverer 10g on the same physical server and it works fine (this is sandbox/ TEST). Most of my large customers have 10g installed on multiple physical servers due to load balancing (capacity).
I do work for Oracle. I try to help out on the forum when I can, but it is hit or miss :-(
I would be glad to discuss anything privately.
As for the issue at hand, I can reproduce the problem and here is what is occuring.
I have EBS 11i configured with Jiniator 1.3.24
I have Discoverer 10g configured with Sun Java plugin 1.4.2_06
    1. If you launch EBS 11i apps and a form with MS IE, then the browser launches the form using Jiniator JRE 1.3.xx (whatever you have configured in AutoConfig for EBS11i)
    2. Next, the user navigates to EBS 11i SSWA and launches a Discoverer workbook.
What occurs is a child IEXPLORE.exe process is spawned from the parent IEXPLORE.exe process and Discoveer Plus is launched. The parent iexplore.exe process will be attached to the Jiniator JVM. Now if Discoverer is configured with
    a.) Sun Java Plugin or
b.)a version of Jinitiator that is a different version from what EBS 11i is configured with
then you may get this conflict.
It really is an MS IE/JRE conflict with Jinitiator and Sun Java Plugi and the way the broswers attaches to the JVM (IMHO) as this behaviour could be reproduced with other non-oracle java applets.
You can workaround the situation by:
    a. configure EBS11i and Discoverer to use the same version of Jiniator 1.3.xx
    b. educate the users to open one MS IE browser to connect to EBS11i and then open a second MS IE browser to login to EBS11i SSWA or Discoverer 10g Plus directly to launch workbooks. They need to to this by clicking on the icon and not using File >> New browser. Clicking on the icon will spawn a new parent iexplore.exe process that can attach to a second/different JVM. File >> New Window will spawan a child of the parent.
    c. As you did use two browser versions. MS IE for EBS11 connection and FireFox for Disocverer 10g connection.
I would choose optoin b, so that you can use Sun Java Plugin with Discoverer.
Open to any comments. I hope that helps you workaround the problem. The ideal solution is to have EBS 11i use/cerified with the 1.4 or 1.5 JRE. In poking around, I see there is a related post to this on one of Oracle's EBS 11i Product Managers Blog.

  • Oracle Apps adapter: User name issue

    Hi All,
I am using SOA 11g to call an API in EBS using Oracle Apps Adapter .I am passing User name,Responsibility Name and other parameteres in invoke properties. Now the API is called successfully with most of the user names while for few usenames it's not able able to resolve user id based on user name. Although if the API is called from Oracle Apps/PL SQL ,it is working for all the users.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance

  • Oracle Apps Adapter issues

    Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed SOA 11.1.1.4.0 and am trying to work through the basic labs. I would like to be able to use the Oracle Apps adapter, but am getting the below error when trying to update the apps adapter (to change the status from Installed to Active):
An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
[1] The ra.xml <connection-interface> class 'oracle.tip.adapter.apps.IAppsConnection' was not found in the resource adapter archive/application. [2] The ra.xml <connection-impl-class> class 'oracle.tip.adapter.apps.AppsConnection' was not found in the resource adapter archive/application. [3] The ra.xml <managedconnectionfactory-class> class 'oracle.tip.adapter.apps.AppsManagedConnectionFactory' was not found in the resource adapter archive/application. [4] The ra.xml <connectionfactory-impl-class> class 'oracle.tip.adapter.apps.AppsConnectionFactory' was not found in the resource adapter archive/application.
I logon to the consiole (localhost:7001/console), under Deployments, query on OracleAppsAdapter (whose status is 'Installed').
    Source Path - C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ connectors\ AppsAdapter. rar
Configuration Tab -> Outbound Connections Pool (sub-tab) ->
    Connection Factory -> eis/Apps/Apps
    dataSourceName = NULL
    xADataSourceName = jdbc/AppsDataSource
I navigate to Service -> Data Sources
Datasource Name = eBizDS, JNDI name = jdbc/AppsDataSource
The datasource is able to connect to the DB.
Am I missing any steps? One thing which I noticed is that the OracleAppsAdapter is not deployed on the 'AdminServer' (under Target tab). When I try to deploy it, I get the above error.
Please let me know if I posted in the wrong forum, or if you need any more information.
    Versions:
    SOA Suite - 11.1.1.4.0
    WLS - 10.3.4
    Thanks,
    Ashish

I deleted the existing OracleAppsAdapter .
    1) Clicked on Install
    2) Selected AppsAdapter.rar
    3) Selected "Install this deployment as application"
    4) Selected "AdminServer" as target
    5) Changed Name to EBizAppsAdapter.
Under Source accessibility, selected "Use the defaults defined by the deployment's targets"
    6) Clicked on 'Activate Changes'.
At this point I can see the new Adapter in Prepared state. When I try to update it, it gives the same error:
An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
[1] The ra.xml <connection-interface> class 'oracle.tip.adapter.apps.IAppsConnection' was not found in the resource adapter archive/application. • Business Events using Oracle Apps Adapter

I am trying to use oracle.apps.per.api.person.update_person business event to get person data. I have followed the example mentioned in OracleEBSAdapterUserGuide(b_28351). I have specified APPS_WF_EVENTS_T.xsd as the schema.
    Dev Environment:
    JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 (windows XP)
    Oracle Apps 11i (IBM-RS6000)
    I am seeing two issues
    1) Event is not being raised when we create or update person data. I have looked at the troubleshooting section and it mentioned that we need to make sure WF_Listener is running. But I don't know how to check for that.
    2) It doesn't retrieve XML data if we manually invoke the BPEL process. It just gives me empty xml file as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?><ns0:WF_EVENT_T xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb/APPS/HrEmpUpdateListener" xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb/APPS"/>
I really appreciate any insight on this and our client would be very happy if we can resolve this issue.
    Thanks a million..
    Srini

    Hi Srini,
Even i have a similar requirement . Could you please send me the link for OracleEBSAdapterUserGuide(b_28351). ?
Did you come to know how to check whether WF_Listener is running ?
    Thanks in advance
