Timing Panel problem in Indesign CS5 on Mac OSX Lion
I had created a document with some animations. It was playing fine in preview and even after export as swf.
Then I saved and restarted the system and then Indesign started crashing everytime I tried to preview animations.
Later I realised that the timing panel is empty even though the page has many animated elements. This happened for all pages.
I had backed up a copy of the document before I restarted..it happened the same in that. Indesign keeps on crashing everytime I preview animation.
I even tried creating a new document from scratch and added animation to objects in a single page document. But the timing panel is still empty.
Has anyone faced such problem. Am I missing anything?
Please help!
First thing is to update InDesign to the latest patch.

Adobe InDesign CS5 on Mac OSX 10.6.8 Crashes
This only started this morning and I'm not sure what has changed to cause this, but whenever we try to open InDesign it just crashes out. So basically it won't open. Could someone please help?

InDesign CS6 on Mac OSX 10.9.3 crashes on startup

I have a problem with InDesign CS6 on Mac OSX 10.9.3 and I'm really desperate right now...
I've installed the CS6 Master Collection some days ago.. all programs (f.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) are working fine, but InDesign doesn't.
When I try to start it, it suddenly crashes during (or immediately after) the step "Starting up Service Registry":

I really tried everything..
For example I tried all those steps:

and I also tried starting it in the Admin/Safety Mode.
I also did some research in this forum, but couldn't find a solution...
So, I have no further ideas how to solve that problem.
Did anybody have the same problem? It would be really great if you could help me...
I never had any problems with InDesign CS5 or earlier versions.

InDesign CS5 for Mac crashes on opening file. Have replaced References and all other suggestions.
I am having a problem with InDesign CS5 crashing when I try to open a file that formerly opened just fine. Even restored versions from Time Machine or that I had a backup saved on an external hard drive will not open. I recently had to reconstruct a 90 page magazine for the same reason. I heard that Extensis Suitcase might be causing the problem so I disabled the plug-in, but still can't get the file open. The file in question is full of tables and would be a nightmare to redo. I am running Snow Leopard. It will open briefly and tell me that fonts are missing, then crash.

manually from within Extensis. It's the very latest version, Suitcase
Fusion 3, and it warps my chops that it doesn't play nice with InDesign.
I got rid of the Mindsteam grammar plug-in also and sent a tersely
worded letter to the vendor. When you pay nearly $200 for a plug-in, you
expect it to work. I don't have time for this aggravation! I truly
appreciate the help I've gotten here. This has certainly discouraged me
from using any third-party plug-ins. I was ready to go back to Quark
Xpress. For the moment, everything is behaving. -
InDesign CS5 crashes on startup - Mac OSX Lion
Hi Everyone,
I've reinstalled InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 after upgrading to Mac OSX Lion,
Photoshop and Illustrator work fine but InDesign crashes on startup.
I've followed a few threads on here, one suggested creating a new adimistrator-level user on my machine - and that works, but I can't figure out what to fix in my regular user to make InDesign work in here again...

Thanks a lot!I'm having a similar problem but I haven't been able to get it to work. I created a new administer level user but InDesign still won't open under that user. Can't insert glyphs with Indesign CS5 under Mac OS X snow leopard
Hi,
I justed moved to Indesign CS5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
I can't insert the glyphs.
I can open the glyph panel, I see the glyphs but when I double click they don't insert.
Does anybody know this issue and how to solve it?

Printing problems with InDesign CS3 with Mac OS 10.6.3
I am not new to InDesign... I have CS3... but I am brand new to Mac Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.3). Although I can open CS3 and use the application, I cannot print with it. None of my other applications has printing issues... just CS3. Any suggestions?

It is version 5.0.4. I updated it when I newly installed it a week ago in my new computer, and then again updated it just yesterday.
I might mention that before I got my new computer, I was running Mac OS 4.11, and was using InDesign 3.0. I had bought InDesign CS3 about a year ago, but hadn't gotten around to using it since version 3.0 had been working fine, and I was used to it. Then, when I got my new computer, I decided it was time to use the newer version. However, while using InDesign 3.0 with the old Mac OS 4.11, a printing problem popped up there, too, a few months ago... and it also involved printing problems with Adobe Reader. I contacted Adobe, and they sent me a patch which fixed it. I will contact Adobe again if need be, although I thought I'd start here first to see if it was a common enough problem that someone might be able to provide a free and routine answer.

notice that Mac OSX 10.6.4 has just been released. It actually
addresses some CS3-specific issues, though they seem to be related to

Did you just start up or restart your mac recently? If you did you might have experineced a problem with your Wi-Fi. I was unable to access anything that required Wi-Fi. So what I did was I restarted my iMac and my Wi-Fi was working again.
What might have caused the problem
A. The Wi-Fi chip did not start or restart (During the process of Starting or Restarting your iMac)
B. It could be a bug in Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3 or lower.
I hoped this helped you outIf it was previously working then try a smc and pram reset.
If that doesn't fix it then see if vlc can handle the video. -
I have a Fuji X-Pro1 camera. I use Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5 I have Photoshop CS5. How do I open its RAW files?
Since photoshop cs5 can't use past the camera raw 6.7 plugin and that camera requires at least the camera raw 7.1 plugin, you could use the 8.7.1 dng converter
to convert the files to dng copies, which then photoshop cs5 should be able to open.

Hello! Tried unsuccessfully to restore my MBP, running the Mac OSX Lion, to factory settings. I keep getting the "can't download additional components for the Mac OSX Lion" error when reinstalling the OSX Lion. Any tips on how to resolve this problem?

Given that your answer to 1. is 'pre-installed' and 3. is 'No', I think the only thing to do is to take it to an Apple store (ideally the one you bought it from) and have them reinstall it for you.
The intended solution in cases like yours is that you should be able to reboot and install even a wiped disk by using Apple's servers over the internet (you do this by restarting with 'command-r' and choosing 'reinstall Lion'). However if this isn't working for you then you need to get the store to do it. Don't let them fob you off with 'go home and try again'. Have them do it in the shop (you're still covered by Applecare warranty so it should cost you nothing save the inconvenience of the trip and possibly leaving the machine there while they fix it).
A reinstall should leave all your own personal data and programs in place.
Note for future: when you get it fixed, first thing to do is buy a cheap external drive and start keeping a backup (either Time Machine or clone with Carbon Copy Cloner).

I am running Mac OSx Lion 10.7.2.
My issue is that I am not able to run a search in the finder toolabar on a network server. No files show up nor does it search on the server anymore. I was able to run the search in snow-leopard and am no longer able to do so with Lion. Is there a preference I can change or some kind of app or program I can download that will help me with this issue? This is extremely problematic for me as I am searching for files all day everyday. My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?
Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

Can you provide any more information about the files that are causing the problems? Are these particularly large files? Many pages or images? Have you opened these files in Photoshop CS5, or other versions of Photoshop?
What do you see when you try to import these PDFs? Do you get the PDF Import dialog, allowing you to select pages or images from the PDF? Is so, is it hanging when you click OK or at another time?
Any more details about the problem or other info (as well as sample files) you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help identify the cause of your problems.

It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.
