Tingling Sensation when charging Macbook Pro 13 inch 2015 with Force Touch

Today, I just got my Macbook Pro 13 inch 2015 with Force Touch.
When I charge it, there is a VERY STRONG tingling sensation. Almost feel like a strong vibration. I believe this is what they call a "mild electric shock". After testing the new machine with different power outlets (both at my house and other people houses), with same result .... my fingers feel all numb.
I am going to Apple service next week with this.
Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Usually that indicates a bad ground in the source system.  Perhaps a licensed electrician should be employed to check out the wiring.
Ciao.

  • Brand new Macbook Pro (early 2015) with upgraded ram lagging in the simplest tasks

I received a brand new 13 inch macbook pro (early 2015) with upgraded ram (16 gb) about two weeks ago. I was expecting it to do tasks faster than its predecessors (the macbook pro which came directly before it, which my father owns, and the early 2009 which is now a family computer), but became dissapointed when it began crashing basically as soon as i started using final cut pro, and ever since it has been lagging everywhere else! I have check my activity monitor regulary due to this issue and have noticed "kernel_task" taking a large percentage of CPU (when im not using the computer all that much around 10%) and it uses 1.5gb of ram upwards constantly without fail! I am aware that this is the operating system so i dont really want to fiddle around with it but it does sound a little bit high to me. Originally it was slightly tougher work on final cut that would crash it, hence why i haven't seriously questioned it until now, but currently i cannot even move my curser around without getting the spinning beach ball of death! Please help me!

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • High CPU Usage when charging Macbook Pro 2011 13"

    Hey,
Over the last week or so I noticed that when my Macbook Pro (Late 2011 13") was switched on and charging the CPU usage shoots up to ~90% with the fan operating at roughly 6.2k RPM. I have had the laptop a year come the end of the month and mainly use it for word processing, coding and general web browsing.
I updated OS X to 10.8.3 this morning and the problem still exists. If I remove my charger the problem goes away.
I've tried resetting the SMC but I don't know if it worked.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to rectify it?
There is no Apple store in my home town and I'm praying there is something I can do rather than drive 20 miles or so to the nearest store.
If it is of any benefit, it is the stock build in terms of RAM and HDD (haven't got round to ordering an SSD yet ).
    Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.3
    Boot ROM Version:          MBP81.0047.B27
    SMC Version (system):          1.68f99
    Thank you

    Hi Fernando,
I came across a Google search result which was from a forum belonging to a folding application I had previously installed, I cannot recall the name of it.
When I checked Activity Monitor application I could see that there was a process belonging to the folding@home application. Even though I had removed the application it still left a file behind which was continually being used (somehow).
Hope this helps. You may not have had this application in particular, but I guess there could be similar behaviours with other applications?
    Kind regards
    Jamie

  • MacBook Pro Early 2015 with Dell DisplayPort 1.2 / MST monitor.

I am trying to use a Early 2015 MacBook Pro with a Dell U2715H monitor in DP1.2 mode so I can use the MST support in my new MacBook to daisy chain 2 of these screens together. However it doesn't work. Daisy chaining without DP1.2 enabled results in the displays being mirrored and only 1 display being detected by the laptop. Enabling DP1.2 on the screen connected to the laptop causes the screen to go blank and it for it to detect no signal. Even without they daisy chained. The first monitor is always detected by the laptop but in no configuration does the 2nd one ever show up.
This feature seems to be advertised as working both on the monitor and on the laptop but I am not having much luck with it Is the laptop buggy? Is the monitor? Is it both of them?

I have the same setup as you, only with a late 2013 MBP.  I experience the same problem as you.  From what I've been able to gather, OS X does not support Display Port 1.2 MST.  Even though this works with Apple's own displays, and now that it works with the new Dell 5K displays in 10.10.3, Apple has not enabled this functionality for daisy chaining two displays together.
It is a little angering, as Apple's devices are DP 1.2 compatible, but they purposely disable this feature.  I am not sure what their reasoning is for this.
All we can do is hope they enable this in a future update, as I think it is a software limitation.
In the mean time, I have been running one U2715H on DisplayPort, and another on HDMI, as this leaves and additional thunderbolt port available for the ethernet adapter.

what do I do when my macbook pro just shuts down and when I plug my charger in, it faintly blinks green and yellow and doesnt charge?

    Hi aaliyafrommarkham,
In order to troubleshoot this, I would recommend that you start with an SMC reset. Information on this procedure can be found here:

Here is apple's instructions in calibrating the battery KB Article
As for leaving it plugged in, that's the normal process most people do, there is circuitry in the computer to ensure the battery does not get over charged. Aside from calibrating it, I'd avoid any deep cycles, that is draining it completely, you're better off plugging it in when you have the opportunity and not wait until the battery is nearly drained. Deep cycles can shorten the life span of the battery.

To use factime on your Mac, I believe you will need to use your email address to do so instead of your wireless number.  Since you can't make calls on the Mac.

  • Charging a MacBook Pro (60 MagSafe) with an Air (45w MagSafe) plug.

Can I safely charge a MacBook Pro (60 MagSafe) with a MacBook Air wall charger (45w MagSafe)?  I ask because I'm replacing a 2009 MacBook Pro with a new Air and the Pro cord is dead. I'd like to charge the pro with the air charger so I can transfer files.

The short answer is NO.  MacBook Airs use the 45 Watt adaptors, 13" MacBook Pros use the 60Watt and the 15 and larger use an 85Watt adaptor.
You can use a larger size to chage one that needs a smaller wattage, but not the other way around.

  • Re:  Not getting audio from TV when connecting MacBook Pro with all correct cables.

How do I get audio from the TV when connecting MacBook Pro with all the correct cables?

    Hi Lynn,
If you're positive you have the correct cables, and positive they work, they must be plugged into an input on the TV made for that purpose, then that input must be selected on the TV's menu.

I get my magsafe 2 60w is it safe to charge macbook pro retina  15 pouces

It's not a good idea to use a lower wattage power supply than what the machine shipped with. The 15" comes with an 85 watt adapter and that's what you should be using. You can go in the other direction with no problem, like using an 85 watt on a machine that came with a 60. If I were you, I go get the correct charger.
