Tiny question

I use Kawa as program for java...
but there you have to enter a map where the Java documents are...
so when you select a word and press F1 you get information..
but the problem is that I can't find the documents anywhere on this site...
where are they?? I have J2SDK1.4.0
And if there are any ppl that also use Kawa,
I can't get the debug mode working...
which map should I enter in the preferences window???

Tiny question mark next to site name

Whenever I load my website I get this tiny question mark to the right of the page name. It appears in the tab and in my bookmarks bar at the top of Safari. Any ideas as to what that could be?

Sometimes question marks are caused by bad settings in an ftp program, if you are using one. The encoding needs to be UTF-8.

Windows fonts on a Mac?? A tiny question

Hi All,
I just have a tiny question, I have all these True Type fonts (they all and with .TTF ) from my old PC that I want to use on my Mac is this possible or advisable?

It can be done. If you have a font manager such as Font Explorer X or Suitcase, set it to import the fonts and it should scan through them to ensure they're usable.

AS3 swf tiny question

I have a feeling that I know the answer to this. I am not
terribly savvy on Actionscript (basic sklls, not expert)..and not
in 3.0 at all!!!!!!!! I have a website that is done nearly all in
Flash with AS2.0. I recently added a video player from a video
aggregator, but their player is AS3.0.
All I could do was to build an html page and embed the AS 3
player into that. I prefer the seamlessness that Flash provides. Is
there ANY possible way to embed an AS3 swf file into an AS2
website.
I just cannot completely rebuild the entire website right now
in 3.0!!!!
Is there ANY simple solution? I cannot believe that I am the
only person who is having issues like this...Ugh!!!!

you can't use an as2 file to load an as3 file and have the
as3 file work.
you can use getURL() to load your as3's embedding html file.
if you want it to look seemless, you can load into the same window
so the user will see your as2 content replaced by the as3 swf.
in the as3 swf you can put code to load your as2's embedding
html file (using navigateToURL()). so, you can go back and forth
between your as2 and as3 swfs.

A tiny question

Hi everyone i was awhile ago here and apparently stumbled across this thing .
First of we have a program that is a GUI interface for the video store and what they want us to do is , to have an action listener attached to all components of the GUI so they could track the number of errors a single operator does.
But the problem is with things like drop-down list ,radio buttons and check buttons.For example if we enter a male customer and a female straight away after the change of sex in radio button is considered as an error by action listener and gets recorded.Same as the D.O.B selection ,as soon as you start scrolling down from say 1st of Jan to 29 of March ,every date you pass by pressing down the down errors or just scrolling with the mouse is caught by aciton listener and is recorded.
We dont have troubles with any other things just that .

The other one we've encountered tho was a problem with setting focuses,apparently a TAB entry of data doesnt go one by one to every field in the column,in the middle it jumps to another layout panel and then comesback , we've checked the order and setNextFocusableComponent(name);
doesnt do much ,maybe its name.requestFocus();
Hmm but what lib is it in ?
Anyone has any idea about this ?

Simple tiny Question, with terminal

When you do the unix command *sudo rm -ri* (delete info on all drives), as Mac OS X eats itself, When it deletes Applications, terminal will be still open, and when it deletes the whole system and everything, the dock, menubar, icons, are still intact so what kind of method does it do to delete files? _something different: I've heard that if you open a document with an application (word opening: example.doc), delete the file using secure empty trash, the file will be still open, but once you close the window, you can never open it again._

Well, you wouldn't even need to use "Secure Empty Trash". Just putting the file into the trash and emptying it would be enough. As long as the file's contents are in memory, you can do what you want with it (except save it, since you're likely to get a "File not found" error when the application can't find the original file). Then, if you close the file without saving it to a new file, it'll be gone forever, just as it would if you closed the window and dragged it to the trash and emptied the trash.

A music file on my iWeb website shows as a question mark and won't play. Anyone know how I can fix this?

When I view the website using Firefox, it shows and plays beautifully. But, when I view it on Safari, there is a tiny question mark where the audio control should be, and no music plays. I'd really appreciate some help with this one.

I just opened your site with Safari and on the Home page the music play straight away and then there is the player at the bottom right of the page which I can see with no problem at all.
Perhpas you need to empty your brower cache for it to display correctly - it seems to be working correctly for others here who have viewed it in Safari.
Check your preferences and perhaps clear your cookies and then empty your browser cache.

Ask small questions that don't deserve their own thread. [HUH?]

I'm sure there are a lot of tiny questions that don't deserve their very own thread. Ask these here and somebody that hopefully knows what they're talking about will answer them!
Here are mine:
Restarting X (ctrl+alt+backspace) doesn't work with openbox. When I try to, on the vc I see the xorg log reporting an error about openbox already running. When I go to vc7 there's nothing there, so openbox did exit. How do I fix this?
pm-util's resume from suspend doesn't work. It goes into suspend mode correctly, but when I resume the motherboard beeps 4 times and crashes. Diagnosing this is very difficult, given that I see no resume entries on the pm-util log, just the suspend entires. Where should I start?

Restarting x is handled by the session manager (KDM , GDM etc.) without one, ctl-alt-backspace just stops X
by the way.. isn't this what IRC is for?

Images gone replaced by a large 'x' and a question mark

Have been working on my iBook and, after clicking a now forgotten dialogue box, all the images have disappeared, replaced with a large X where the image was and a tiny question mark inside. No 'undo' or 'revert to' seems to help return to what was there just a moment ago.
Is there a simple fix to this?
Is there a way of going into the root of iBooksAuthor to reconnect the images?

This is a perenial problem, and a search of the discussions will bring up many different solutions.
Try reducing the size of any image or text box and bringing each in turn to the front ( Arrange>Move to Front)
At the moment everything is still on the page, so do not delete anything. Also did you add a full screen background image and not lock it.
Read some posts and try each solution found.

How can I figure out the parent of a thread???

I have a tiny question!!
I have a thread which could be run by 1 of 2 different parents.
So my idea was to set a variable...for example int a...and initialize it with 1 for the first parent and with 2 for the seond...then in the thread I make if...else...and whether a is 1 or 2 I know who the parent is.
So what I wanna know is:
Is there a method which can figure out who of those 2 the parent started the thread without using a variable???

You code do that or if both parents implement some
interface, call it parentInterface have them pass them selfs in ... and the thread store that as part of its context.
Then provide a method call it getParent which returns that parent object. And even a getParentName.

Performance issue in DW CS5

Hi!
I've got tiny question about performance tweak if it is possible somehow in DW CS5. To be strict i often loose my hint code panel if I have to much sites open at once. It seems to disappear after few seconds, sometimes faster, sometimes slower even I did not choose any command displayed in the panel yet. I guess there is no any tweak options in DW, but maybe some of you have some curious experiences about performance in DW. Any of idea not necesarilly about code hint window on the perfromance in DW CS5 would be apreciated:)

Scheduled Webi Reports Don't Open on iOS's MS Exchange Mail

Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the right place to write this post but I will try anyway.
We are using BO 4.0 SP6 and schedule webi reports as attached xlsx of pdf in e-mails.The problem is that the attached pdf's and excel files don't open right away in iPhone's native mail application when using MS Exchange. A tiny question mark shows up on the top corner of the attachment and when you tap on it, it asks which application to use to open it. We can choose iBooks app for example to view the file. We would like the attachment to open right away as we tap on it as it does usually.
Here are some test results:
-We have observed this issue on iOS 8. However, there are rumors that it started with iOS 7. Same rumors suggest that it would work fine before iOS 7.
-We use iOS' native mail application with a MS Exchange account set up.
-We have also tested it with a gmail account set up next to the exchange account. The attachment opened with no problem.
-If someone forwards the mail received from the BO server, to another exchange mail, the attachment opens just fine.
-We have no problem opening other exchange mails with attachments on mobile.
We suspect, the exchange mail can't confirm the sender address thus can't trust the attachment if it is really a pdf-excel file. So we tried scheduling the webi report with a valid mail address in the sender information box but it didn't work.
Has anyone came across such a problem?
I know this issue involve SAP, Apple and Microsoft and each one will point the other for the blame. But any help will be appreciated.

Though this appears on Mobile, this belongs to Webi Product team. As the schedule of Webi reports and the email output would be controlled by them. They can work with Apple to identify the cause and fix the defect. Hence, you can post your question in SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence

Combine two layer names in one command

I have a tiny question: Can those two lines be combined to one command by somehow group the names? I have throught about an array but I would like to have the names still visible. Maybe there is something smarter ... ?

Do you mean that you want to be able to undo both layer setting changes in a single undo? If so, this can be done using app.doScript using UndoModes.entireScript:

New Mac Pro makes 'clicking' sound when picked up / inverted

I've recently purchased a new mac pro - 3.5GHz 6-core, 32GB ram, 512 GB, D700.
So far so good with this unit - it seems to be a solid machine - albeit one tiny question...... I generally use it in a shared office environment, so at the end of the day pack the unit into a flight ready peli case. When picking the unit up, it makes an internal clicking sound (especially when rotating the machine over it's axis).
I might be complaining about nothing here.....but with having to move the machine a couple times a day, with air travel with it planned soon, i'd like to be assured that some internal component's not going to fall off in transit.
Does anyone have a similar issue? Possibly there's no cause for concern.

lllaass suggestion makes sense.
The standard orientation is upright, and there is no strong reason to limit the end-play on the fan motor shaft. Even when placed horizontally, the fan would settle into one position when spinning and stay there.
