Tiny text size in Comments

Is there a way to change text size in comments. When transferring photos together with "comments" from iPhoto to RapidWeaver (a website preparation program,) it would be nice to have more control over size.

Ray:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. No, we are stuck with what iPhoto gives us. But wouldn't that be a function of RapidWeaver? The font size in iPhoto is just for viewing in iPhoto. If RapidWeaver grabs it from iPhoto's database to use in a web page it would be the one to manipulate the size in the documents that it creates.

  • How to deal with tiny text size on the display, especially in email?

    I got a Macbook a week ago. I have been using a Windows laptop for about 5 years. Before that I had a couple of Mac desktops.
    All in all I am very happy with the Macbook. I haven't had any of the problems which have come up in these forums, unexpected shutdown, bad DVD drives, etc. One thing I love about mine which I had not seen mentioned before I got it is that the Macbook (or mine anyway) is absolutely whisper quiet. I cannot hear the hard drive doing anything. My Dell laptop sounds like a construction site in comparison.
    The main issue that is vexing me has to do with the high-res, small-size display. The combination of those two factors means that the text size onscreen is often so small that even with reading glasses I have serious eyestrain.
    Back on my Dell this was a lot easier to deal with. In Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, there are very simple settings in the menus to make text sizes better. And this is really important -- those text sizes are remembered after you close and restart the program.
    So far as I can tell, that is not true (in general) on the Mac. I find this shocking, since Apple makes such a big deal about the simplicity and usability of the Mac.
    Specifically, in Safari I went into preferences and reset the fonts. A little more complicated than in Internet Explorer but it basically works alright.
    With Apple Mail, though, it is really troublesome. There is no remember-able setting to increase the text size for viewing (that I can find). And the on-screen size of 12 point text in an incoming email in Apple Mail is just absurdly small. It makes me wonder if Apple is taking bribes from the American Opthalmology Association. This is going to ruin my eyesite pronto.
    Of course I can hit Command-+ several times when viewing each email to increase the text size to a readable size. But what a pain.
    Is there a way to make those settings rememberable?
    Otherwise I like Apple Mail. But I really prefer not to have to hit 6 keystrokes when looking at each email just to get it to a reasonable size.
    I looked at the help files for Mozilla Thunderbird. They seem to indicate that program works the same way.
    How about Eudora? Any others? Any suggestions much appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi Jeff, thanks for your careful attention and your comment.
    But I have to point out you've missed what I'm talking about.
    In OE, in the View menu (right on the menu bar, not under Tools>Options) there is a setting called "Text Size" which allows you to set the text size for viewing and composing (independent of sending). That makes it very easy to make the text easier to read on small screens. It does not "change the appearance of the formatted text so that it no longer corresponds to the intent of the sender". It merely makes the text bigger or smaller, like a magnifying glass.
    Via email I had some back and forth today with another poster here discussing this. You might be interested to see the email he sent me in which he included both Helvetica 12 and Helvetica 14. I took a screenshot of the email he sent me (from Apple Mail). When I read this email in Apple Mail with the "Message Font" set to Arial 18 (which is the size I need it set at for readability), Helvetica 14 is displayed at a smaller size than Helvetica 12.
    screenshot here: http://www.pbase.com/paulduke/image/64910338/original
    That's weird.
    Here's a test I did, and this is what really matters to me.
    I sent two emails from Windows/Outlook Express. For one I set the default composing font to Arial 12. For the other I set the default composing font to Arial 18.
    When I downloaded and read these emails in Apple Mail, sure enough, the Arial 18 font appears much bigger than the font in the Arial 12 mail.
    Then I did the reverse. I set the "Message Font" in Apple Mail prefs to Arial 12. Sent an email.
    Then I changed the "Message Font" to Arial 18 in prefs and sent another email.
    Then I downloaded both these emails into Outlook Express.
    On OE, font size is displayed exactly the same in both emails.
    So that's good -- I know that Apple Mail, whatever the setting in "Message Font", is sending some sort of "standard" font size. (By the way, I have Apple Mail set to send Rich Text Format mail). My correspondent tells me that Apple Mail doesn't send "true" HTML mail, and Outlook Express does, so perhaps that explains this.
    Okay, no big deal. But if I were a graphic designer and I wanted to know for sure that my carefully crafted email styles were getting through, I might be going bonkers because of this.
    But I'm not a graphic designer, and for the moment my concerns are assuaged.
    And I accept the wisdom of your advice to "go native". I'm trying, I'm trying...

    Hi,
    is it possible to change the text size in the comment section in the right collumn? I don't want to chance the comment in the document itself, just the overview on the right side.

  • Why is UI text-size tiny in InDesign CC 2014?

    I just upgraded to InDesign 2014 version 10.0.0.70 x64, and the UI text is tiny. The menu text (i.e. when you click on "Edit" the options "undo, redo, cut, copy, paste, etc.") is normal size, but the tools panels and everything else is tiny.
    My Windows (7) text-size is already set to 150%.
    Any suggestions?

    Seriously the only thing left is a bigger monitor. I'm up to 30" now because every time I nee to reaplce one they raise the darn monitor resolutions so I can't use the small ones comfortably anymore.
    I feel your pain.

  • Text Size When Printing Comments Different Than On-Screen

    Hello.  We are supporting an end-user with an unusual problem.  They are able to make sticky comments fine and adjust the font size on screen.  However, when this user goes to print either to a physical printer or a PDF, the font size of the comment is different (smaller) than what is shown on screen.
    On-Screen Example:
    Print To PDF Example:
    Is there an option to match the text size of the printed version to that of the on-screen?  Even if the printed text size can be bumped up just a bit, it'd be greatly appreciated.  The font size when commenting on-screen is 18 Arial but it seems like the printed version is more like 10 Ariel.
    Thank you.

    Just tried the latest version of Adobe Reader and the same issue occurs.  Making the on-screen font size 70 in the Commenting Preferences field makes NO CHANGE when printed (comes out at about 10 / 12 point font).  Even the Print Preview doesn't show the larger font so there's some setting getting lost when you go to print.
    Talking to our client, this problem likely coincides with Adobe updates that were pushed out.  This is easily reproducible (anyone with an up-to-date version of Adobe Reader can do this) but doesn't seem to be a fix.
    Any help out there?

  • Default text size in Compressor is too small for normal human eye

    Is there any way to change the text size in Compressor 4 in the windows?  I can't find any.
    The normal default text size is way too small for any normal human being eye to read clearly.
    Please, have mercy on us, whoever designed the tiny fonts!   Not fair to the rest of us . . .

    Well, guess we folk with not-too-good vision will simply have to keep on trucking the best we can, eh?   We can't enlarge text, so as a result we can't  use software like Compressor like the rest of the population.  Sad to say, especially with a company like Apple . . .
    Yeah, well I gave the Apple Compressor Team my feedback, just like I've done the last 3 months with other things, then of course the feedback from us all melts into the either, and we never really know if anyone reads it, like they say.  Me thinks not.  This is the only feedback I'll ever get, I'm afraid:

  • Tiny Text on Sony Bravia 46' 1080p

    I recently purchased a Mac Mini and hooked it up to my Sony Bravia 46' 1080p tv in the living room. I had no problem getting the computer up and running and syncing with the wireless mouse and keyboard. However, the text is so small on the screen that I have to squint to make it out. Also, the screen does not fill up the entire tv screen as there is room on both sides. I've been using the zoom trick with the Magic Mouse to get around it for now but would really like to not have to worry about it.

    If you are too far away from the TV, text is going to be tiny.
    For web browsing, you can fight some of this by using Firefox, which allows you to magnify the text and images on a site-by-site basis by simply pressing CMD-Plus or CMD-Minus to increase or decrease size. Firefox then remembers the magnification setting for each site!
    BTW you don't have to hold down the Shift key to get CMD-Plus in Firefox. Their programmers were nice enough to allow CMD-Equals (unshifted Plus) to do the same thing.
    Most web browsers also have a Preference setting for using a larger minimum font size -- though often this is somewhat hidden. I've yet to see a browser that lets you increase the text size in the address bar, however.

  • Text size in PSE 7 Editor menues / toolbars

    Hello, with my new 16.4" Laptop and 1920 x 1080 resolution I have problems in properly reading the text in PSE 7 editor menues and toolbars - they are so tiny.
    Increasing Windows font size (DPI) in the Control Panel only works with "Windows-related" programmes (e. g. Windows Explorer) but it does not affect the text size in the PSE menues (it does make the 'welcome screen' which invites you to choose between Editor, Organizer etc, bigger, though, and also the drop-down menues that appear after you click on a menue item). Decreasing the resolution is not a solution, as it makes the whole display blurred...
    Is there a solution at all? I'm using Windows 7, if that's relevant...

    hi , well to increase the font size ,just go to properties and then on settings.
    From there you can go to screen resolution and increase or decrease as per your wish.It worked on my system ,so try it out.

  • Outlook 2013 - Tiny Text on first tab field

    In Outlook 2013, the text in the first editable field (first tab stop) on custom forms is displaying with a tiny font size (probably 3 point), the rest of the fields are using the correct font size.  With some research, it appears the RICHED20.DLL
    file is causing the problem.  The proposed temporary fix is to replace the riched20.dll file with a previous version of the file, but this causes other issues.  When is a fix going to be released for this problem?

    Hi,
    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
    Seems it's a limitation of Outlook 2013 by far and there isn't a fix for this issue now. The only way seems to temporarily fix the problem is as you mentioned: replace the riched20.dll file with a previous version of the file.
    You can have a look at this article which described this problem:

    You can click the smiley button on the upper right corner of your Outlook and send your suggestions regarding this problem to our product team. Hope they will come up with a fix soon.

  • Text Size in Help

    After looking everywhere I finally figured out how to
    increase the text size with IE7 in Flash HELP.
    The tech note from Adobe does not work. (
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18954)
    You also need to fix an error in the pages.js file (located
    in the same directory as the help_pc.css file that the tech note
    tells you to fix) (\HelpPanel\_sharedassets directory)
    The problem is in the section of javascript code that selects
    which css file to use depending on whether it is a mac or pc...
    It does not work with IE7. You can fix this by commenting out
    the IF statement and forcing it to use the help_pc.css file..
    //if (version.indexOf("Mac") != -1) {
    // document.write('<link rel=stylesheet
    href=\"../../_sharedassets/help_mac.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\"
    media=\"screen\">');
    // document.write('<link rel=stylesheet
    href=\"../../_sharedassets/help_mac_print.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\"
    media=\"print\">');
    //else if (version.indexOf("Windows") != -1) {
    document.write('<link rel=stylesheet
    href=\"../../_sharedassets/help_pc.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\"
    media=\"screen\">');
    document.write('<link rel=stylesheet
    href=\"../../_sharedassets/help_pc_print.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\"
    media=\"print\">');
    //else {
    document.write('<link rel=stylesheet
    href=\"../../_sharedassets/help.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\">');
    No one at Adobe must have a PC (they must all have Macs) or
    they would have found this bug...

    Or, you could try loading the text in segments instead of all of it into memory at once. This is a more user and computer friendly way since then you aren't hogging system resources.

  • Display Text Size

    I have a new MBP 15". The reading window is only half the screen and all text is tiny. How do I get the text size up to a readable size for an oldy?

    Thank you, that's a great feature.
    Now how do I enlarge the text size in an email window. I am getting text that is very clear but smaller than I have ever seen. The zoom - and + does not seem to work.

  • Mountain Lion text size

    I've just downloaded Moutain Lion and the text is really small. I know I can do cmd + to make it bigger but that only works if I stay on the page, if I move away it reverts to being tiny. Also the text in the tool bar has gone miniscule! Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Support Communities. If you're referring to text in Safari, in Safari's Preferences > Advanced tab, there's a minimum font size setting.
    For overall text size, see...

  • Text size formatting

    I am having difficulty establishing a text size that remains constant in my 'send' email. If I go one space beyond the previous, it goes to tiny text. Why can't I establish a 'page' setup where the text will be uniform and dependable? Thank you.
    [email protected]

    yes it is a pain. and you have correctly identified the issue. You move the cursor "out of bounds" and it is no longer in an area that contains any formatting information at all.
    My personal workaround as I like to fiddle in my mail a lot when writing them is to press enter about 6 or 7 times as soon as I get to the write window and then use the mouse to move the pointer back to the first line. It is not foolproof, but is stops most of the annoyances.
    This add-on https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/quoteandcomposemanager-en.html has a stabilise font option that is also quite helpful as it wraps the entire massage is a font tag so it is much harder to go "out of bounds"
