Title 3D needs render?

Hi all,
So I'm editing simple titles to music (black background, white text...one/two words for each clip, less than a couple seconds long each). Anyway, I make one, Option-Click and drag, then double click and change the word. Things going well for a while. I get to 20 or so, and the 21st one gives me an Orange render line. ***? Everything else is fine, but NOW I have to render a Title 3D? Since when? The sequence is one video track, and the other 20 clips (which are all the same) don't have to be rendered. Any ideas?
Thanks
Jonathan

Thanks for the reply, David.
You're welcome, most of the time I just yelled at.
But I'm wondering...the titles aren't stacked, so it's not doing anything really complicated.
Untrue. you're calling a very complex filter, a product from Boris. See all of those parameters? Each one is part of the fitler's activity and processor demand.
It's like I have one long Title 3D.
Each iteration is a new filter. This is farily fundamental to how NLEs work, you'll get used to it.
I thought that if you add graphics and effects on top of each other, THEN you would need to render.
There are many ways to dramatically simplify rendering but they're advanced postproduction processes. You develop them as your experience grows. For instance, you could build a single 3D graphic that holds your settings and then continue to compose the rest of your elements as plain text. When you start to get closer to locking down the production, you go back and start applying the 3D attributes and making final corrections to text content. This eliminates tons of wasted time and allows you to make spelling and text formatting changes without extensive rendering.

  • Video needs render

    using fcp 4.5/hd i have captured hdv material by downconverting it during capture and using letterbox... it plays fine in the viewer window... when i make an edit to the timeline it tells me the video needs render, and would take a long time for a single clip... i'm guessing the sequence settings are wrong....
    what should they be?
    thanks

    The sequence settings much match. If you select the proper easy setup then the next seq you make will match the Easy Setup. If that matches you settings you are good.
    Here's a quick hack to always get those right.

  • Title needs render on FCP4.1

    Hi there guys !
    I am sub titling a short film that I've done but I started to develop this rendering problem. I might have the settings wrong and that's why is asking me to render.
    I would understand if I had a lot of efx on the film or three or four layers on top of each other but on my case I only have one and the title which is on V3. As soon as I drop it over the red line comes on and I need to render.
    Now that I am trimming some of the shots it is annoying to render each title in order to preview it.
    I need to render even I change the contrast and brightness of the picture.
    I would understand if I was using a slow machine but I have a dual 2GIG G5 with 1.5 gig ram and plenty disc space.
    Thank you for you're time
    Regards
    LONI

    Any thime you put a title over picture you need to render.
    I've always had to render. If the title is all alone...V1, no video, then it doesn't require rendering, but over picture...always.

  • Titles in Premiere render washed out.

    I don't usually use Premiere for titles, but current project necessitates I used the titling tool. Because of time constraints I'm hoping this is a quick fix.
    I notice that my titles render their color perfectly and vibrantly in the title edit panel. But when I look at the sequence in the program monitor, it shows up awfully washed out. I've checked opacity settings, in both the titler and for the track. Both are at 100%. No blend mode effects that I know off.
    Is there any setting, quality setting, or some other that I might need to check/uncheck to get the titles to hold up well?
    Thanks!

  • Clean sharp psd graphics and premiere titles until I render?

    Hello,
    I'm importing beautiful layered psd graphics and creating titles with premiere on a 720P DVCPROHD timeline.
    These graphics and titles look great when they are still red bar...then after I render I get the same old ugly jagged edges I have always seen.
    Can anyone explain why this is?  And is there a fix?
    Thanks for your advise in advance!
    Mark

    Thanks for the input.
    I am viewing on my computer monitor because I don't have a video board for external output. I need to render out to a DVD for final playback, so I am stuck making adjustment on my computer screen. I am editing a progressive timeline so isn't my "Premiere program monitor" computer screen accurate for progressive material or is premiere always converting to interlaced?
    My preview playback codec is set to DVCproHD 720p.
    I just now tried setting my render quality and bit depth quality to max...this slows down the render time and the rendered graphic images still become jagged.
    If I render out to a progressive DVD should this jagged edges clean up?
    Rushing to get a project out.....don't have much time to investigate it.
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Making subtitles in FCE4, titles suddenly need to be rendered

    If anyone out there can explain this it would be great.
    I am using FCE4, making subtitles using Text / Outline Text in the pulldown menu of the viewer window. I create my text and then pull it down using the wireframe so it sits i the lower third and then dragging the title video onto the sequence. For some reason, about halfway through my project, all of the titles I drag down are unrendered, whereas before they didn't need to be rendered when I brought them down into the sequence? Any ideas? This is making things very slow.
    One other question: is there any way to make the text outlined using Text / Lower 3rd, to save the trouble of using the keyframe? I wasn't able to se any option for outlined text.
    Thanks.

    There are a great many factors that determine whether something needs to be rendered for playback. There isn't enough information here to tell. It can also be caused by an accumulation of media that needs rendering for output. Switch to unlimited RT.
    Do not use image+wireframe to align titles. Use the origin or center button in text controls. Lower thirds cannot be repositioned.
    Do you mean you want to save a reusable template? You can do that once the title has been made properly. Drag it into the browser. Every time you need a title drag it from the browser to the timeline, open it into the viewer, and change the text.

    Aiyo! Would it have killed you to post a short example rather than that whole thing? Anyhowdy, have you checked to see if TitleBorder has a constructor that takes a color? Alternately, you can play with UIManager defaults:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.border.*;
    public class BorderDefaults {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable(){
                public void run() {
                    UIManager.put("TitledBorder.border",new LineBorder(Color.ORANGE));
                    UIManager.put("TitledBorder.titleColor", Color.RED);
                    JLabel label = new JLabel("I am a label");
                    label.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("border title"));
                    JFrame f = new JFrame();
                    f.getContentPane().add(label);
                    f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
                    f.pack();
                    f.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
                    f.setVisible(true);
    }

  • Need render process to run each time form is opened.

    I need my SQL queries to run each time the form is opened.  This is whether the form is opened by the original user, an approver in workspace, or when someone opens a form (possibly rejected) via an attachment in e-mail.  It appears that the processes for "Render" seem only to run when the form is originally opened by the end user.  Can anyone help in explaining how to get the form to run the render processes (and other processes) each time the form is opened, no matter how it is opened?
    Thanks in advance.
    Joseph Doggie.

    For those who get here from a Google search, I think one has to make a WSDL for the process.  This is a complicated topic, however.
    Does anyone have any other ideas?

  • Chapter title won't render correct font in portrait mode

    I'm trying to change the default chapter title font (Georgia) to Helvetica Neue.  It renders fine in landscape mode and in the TOC, but if I look at it in portrait mode it doesn't render the font correctly and stays Georgia.

    Nevermind, I figured it out.  You have to manually change it portrait mode as well as landscape mode while you're in iBooks Author.

  • Force rendering of sequence that does not need render

    I'm having a sequence where I'm applying Timecode Reader.
    When playing it plays fine on computer screen and does not need any render.
    I'm using the plugin WMV Studio HD from Flip4Mac. That works fine, but when I export the sequence using the plugin, the resulting .wmv is a clip that says "Unrendered". Fair enough, so how do I force FCP to actually render the timeline prior to exporting to .wmv?
    One way is to create a self-contained QT file and then import that into a new sequence and export to .wmv, but it takes time and disk space.

    Look at your menu Sequence/Render All and Sequence/Render Selection settings and make sure all the options are checked. Then type opt-r or select everything and type cmd-r...
    make sense?

  • AppleScript for Batch Title Changes Needed

    I need to change the title of 75 items in a folder on my G5 by one character. Help says there's a Script Menu in the Finder bar, but I suspect the Help is for Tiger & I have Panther, and there is no such option. I only have Script Editor.
    Would anyone be willing to provide an AppleScript for batch title changes so I can make the needed change? I'm not a programmer. Secondly, how do I activate the script?
    David

    Jeff,
    Thanks for your reply. In Example Scripts/Finder Scripts, I see Replace Text in Item Names.scpt. I'm thinking this is the script I need. Not so?
    Can you recommend a resource that would tell me how to fill in the blanks? Apple refers to Getting Started With AppleScript, but I don't see it as an available PDF file. AppleScript Language Guide is available, but all I really want is something simple, very basic.

  • P2 clips viewed fine in bin, needs render in timeline

    We're running FCP 5.1.4 and are trying out the AG-HPX500. The clips are imported just fine and I can play the clips in the bin on my monitor.
    But when I drag the clips to the timeline, they are red striped.
    We have set the Timeline to DVPAL anamorphic. The clips are recorded in 576i with DVCPro50.
    The computer is an Mac G4 Dual. I think that there might be a setting for the timeline - normally we capture Betacam SP using Apple FireWire PAL.
    But I can't figure out what timeline setting needs to be changed?

    Niklas,
    Your sequence settings must match your clip settings. If you shot at DVCPro50 then your timeline needs to be DVCPro50. The simplest way to do this is to choose the DVCPro50 Easy Setup. If you don't know what an Easy Setup is then it's time to crack open those manuals.

  • Just simple titles causes long render times

    Lately I have noticed that adding simple titles really seems to take a very long time. These are not complex titles. They do have a border, but 10 minutes for a 1:30 tiltle over just one layer of video? What's going on here?
    Best,
