Title 3D not seeing fonts

Have several fonts I am trying to use and title 3D is not seeing them. Motion does however, see them. So what can I do to make Boris see them?
I noticed that there are 2 different font folders 1 on the system hard drive library and the other on the user library. I just made sure that they both had the same content inside but Boris just isn't seeing the new fonts.
Any ideas?

Is it a TT or Postscript font?
But I'm not certain about this. I know that at least in FCP 2, you couldn't use PS fonts.

Imac can not see fonts on external server

We are a commercial printer. We updated this computer to leopard, then decided to go back because of various issues. one of those issues was that the imac could no longer see fonts on our external file server. the fonts appear to be there, but there was 0K in them according to the imac, and the fonts would not load into our font manager (suitcase). When the files were examined at other work stations, the fonts are indeed there and work just fine.
A related issue, when loading files from cd containing fonts, these files are correct if copied to the imac, but when copied by the imac onto the external server the font files have 0K, and they do NOT work at any other workstation - there really is in this case 0K on the external server.
We have since gone back to OSX 10.4.11 but this problem remains.
This is a serious problem and is rendering this computer unusable for anything but email.

Did the other tries bring back any of the thumbnails?
If not and the 4th try fails continue with this:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Photoshop not seeing fonts after Snow Leopard upgrade

This is probably elementary but since changing to Snow Leopard I had to copy fonts into the InDesign fonts folder to access to more than a limited range. However, I am having same problem with Photoshop but don't know how to fix this as I can't find a fonts folder. I am using CS3. Any thoughts?

I'm not saying performing fresh installs from scratch is the only way, just the only smart way.
Yeah, it's a pain and takes more time but I'd rather spend the time up front than wasting time tracking down frustrating problems down the road. A healthy OS is vital to a smooth running system - everything lives or dies by the OS. I want to be sure nothing gets in the way of it running as best as it can. Simply replacing bits here and there and leaving old prefs, caches and miscellaneous crud in place via the Upgrade method instead of starting from scratch is a recipe for problems, IMO. It's like painting a bathroom with mold problems. The easiest, fastest way is to simply paint over the mold - it will look fine for a while, but of course the problem is still there. There are no shortcuts.
If nothing else, a fresh install gives you piece of mind that the OS install is not a suspect when problems develop.
As I said, I'm not experiencing any slowness (or crashing), at all. In fact, PSCS4 seems more stable in 10.6 than 10.5. In Leopard, CS4 would frequently crash on me (CS3 was rock solid). I haven't experience a single crash in SL/CS4 - not even the stupid crash-after-quitting that was as regular as clockwork.
If you want to continue to troubleshoot your problem (which sounds fairly severe), I'd suggest running the very latest version of DiscWarrior. Personally, I know what I'd do. ;-)

I do not see polish fonts in Titler

I just installed Premiere Pro CS5 on my computer with Window7 os. When creating titles I do not see polish fonts in spite I know they are there. I have also installed WebPremium CS4 on the same computer and there are no any problem with polish fonts. ANy suggestion where to find them or what to do to use my national fonts???

Is a font so mysterius nobody can help me. Just to be clear: my polish fonts ( there are only few like ą, ę, ń, ć, ś, ó, ł,ź and ż) I usually get with right Alt. NOrmally in all other Adobe or Microsoft or any other programs it works. One exception is Premiere Pro. One of the local portal suggest to use shift+tylda+letter (example: shift+~+s=ś). But this is completetly crazy way. May any Adobe expert help me somehow ??????????

Why Premiere Title don´t see my new True Type fonts?

I´ve installed several new true type fonts but Premiere´s Title don´s see them. What can I do to fix it?

I think that I missed something in your commets. Please help me understand. On my workstation, I've got over 9K Fonts. These are in my C:\Fonts\PS_Fonts, \\TT_Fonts and \\OTF_Fonts folders. The only ones that show up in any program are the ones that are "installed" in my system. I cannot "test drive" any of the non-installed in any program, that I know of, except, of course, Extensis Suitcase.
What am I missing? Maybe, I'm about to learn something really new and neat?

PS to the OP, do you have a list of the Fonts, that are not showing up? I'd be curious to see what they are. I've seen times that some of the Asian Fonts did not show, even when properly installed. There is a "patch" from MS for those, but cannot find the link. I believe that some Arabic Fonts also need a special "patch" from MS. Do any of yours fall into these catagories?

Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.

Adding web fonts to Muze, but it does not "see" them

Hello, I am trying to add web fonts to Muze, but it does not "see" them. These are fonts purchased from Myfonts.com. No matter if do browse option or drag and drop in add web fonts, muse simply does not recognize the files. Yes. They have correct extensions.

Absolutely right. I restarted in Safe Mode. This enabled me to see the actual text on the screen. Then I backed up. Then reinstalled. All fixed.

I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail.

Dzen2 does not see Xft font.

I have a problem with my dzen2-xft-xpm-xinerama-svn. It does not see my Terminus patched for Powerline font. I have the same font in my urxvt and it works well.
I have this in my .Xresources:
urxvt*font: xft:Terminus for Powerline:pixelsize=14
and when i try to run dzen2 with this font by:
dzen2 -fn "xft:Terminus for Powerline"
Then i have some other font without powerline glyphs.

I've rebooted my Arch a few times, and I solved problem using:
dzen2*font: -*-terminus for powerline-*-r-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
And it works. Now I'm developing my own statusbar. I will post screenshoot when I'm done.

Help! Titles wildly distorted after font change!

I generated titles in LiveType, imported to FCP sequence, ouput on DVD with DVDSP. The font I used was Geneva. Unfortunately, I left it at 100% white, which wasn't smart. Result was that they flickered slightly.
So, I went back to LiveType and re-did them. I did two changes: I changed the font to Impact, and I made it to 85.5% white. Impact is thicker, so there are no "thin" parts which can flicker, but Impact also makes the title more "compact" occupying less space than Geneva... so I made the titles slightly bigger (f.ex. certain titles I change from 30 in Geneva to 40 in Impact.
Anyhow, I changed nothing else other than font and size and whiteness level. Well, here's the problem: when I watch the burned DVD, the titles now are really distorted! It is as if I were seeing them reflected in a fishbowl - the end words toward the left and right edge of the screen are squished and leaning inward. Here's the thing: I did not go outside of the "margin" in LiveType and furthermore, the titles are NOT distorted at all in Geneva (nor are the titles distorted on the computer monitor, only on TV). What gives? How to correct this? They don't flicker any more, but are now funhouse mirror distorted.

How did you insert these titles into your FCP
project? Are they exported .mov's, LT project files,
etc...?
I generated .mov files from the .ipr in LT, then went into FCP and imported .mov files from LT, and put the .mov files on the timeline.
I used exactly the same workflow to generate the UNDISTORTED titles - only difference this time was changing the font to Impact and 85.5% white (from 100%). Again, the workflow was the same - .ipr -> .mov -> FCP and the result was fine with Geneva 100% white, but distorted with Impact 85.5% white.
If you used the LT file then maybe there is some sort
of corruption either in the project file itself or
with the preferences of either program.
How do the titl;es look when viewed in fcp?
Titles look fine in FCP - with both the old Geneva 100% white and the new Impact 85.5% white. Problem is how the Impact fonts look on DVD on TV. On DVD on a computer LCD screen they look fine. The Geneva look fine on DVD on TV. The Impact look fine on computer LCD screen but distorted in the TV.
How do they look if you export your FCP project as a
QT movie?
There are many places where this could be fubar'ed so
the first we have to figure where the problem is
happening.

Just created pages/album with the black background theme.

Could it be that the text is black and not showing up against the background. Click and drag the cursor over the page in the browser to see if the text shows up.
In iWeb go to the Album page where the thumbnails are displayed click on one and do a Select All. Next click on the Font button at the bottom and in the Font pane click on the 3rd button from the left, the one with the green square. There you can set the color you want.
This demo page has the first picture's text set to the background color so you can see the effect of dragging the cursor over it to see the hidden text.

I have an Imac and I use mostly "Firefox" and I am "not too" computer savvy and it seems that now I can not see images on Firefox at all. Therfore i can not see what I am clicking on (like "to buy" or "next" .. PLEASE help me! Thanks in advance!

I am "not too computer savvy" so if you are going to answer my question.. Please take super baby steps (thx in advance).. Okay, now I have a 1 yr old Imac I am using 10.6.8 (do not know what that means) but everytime I call Apple support they ask me.. So I figured you may need to know as well. I really love Firefox (easier for me) and I was trying to download a coupon printing thing to print from Coupons.com (plz don't laugh..economy sux) anyways, the operator at coupons.com told me how to install it. Can't remember but if not immediately after or not long after?? It seems that ALL my images on EVERY website are gone. It is very frustrating because I can not see (for example on Ebay where to click "buy it now" or "continue" unless it seems I sometime get lucky and click where it says "image" but there isn't one. It looks like a set of shark teeth actually right beside the word "image" very jaggedy teeth, I guess?? So I have been using Safari. There is no problem with ANY of those website images. I go on the same basic sites so that is how I know that. I have only downloaded music I think 3x. I do not download much at all. I would really love to use Firefox, being the un-savvy computer person I am... Firefox is easier to navigate for me. Thanks SO much!

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
