Title Bar is showing only ----

Hello everyone,
Like the title says, when I open any window (it can be explorer, or simply google chrome), I can see ---- in the title bar instead of what window I am at now.
I'm not sure if I say it right, but by title bar I mean the text in the bar where _ O X  , "minimize", "full screen" and "close" buttons are.
My brother may have tried some custom theme, but on the forums there and in description nobody knows what it could cause, and I dont remember doing any system backups so I don't have any. It's really bothering me I want to have my Win 8.1 perfect :o)
Thanks for answers in advance
Jan

Hello Jan,
Please share us a screenshot to avoid misunderstanding.
Do you mean you can’t open any windows program like Windows explorer, Chrome browser?
Can you normally open Control Panel?
As it may be relate to the third-party theme, If you can open Control Panel, please try to use system restore to help restore Windows back to an earlier point in time.
For more information, please take a look at the following article.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-HK/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc
If you can't normally use any program like control panel, please try to use safe mode and check if the issue still exists.

  • Title Bar not showing transparency?

My title bar is not showing the transparency in leopard. I am wondering if I am the only one experiencing this problem.

This will depend on your computer. I believe the transparent menubar requires "core image" or some other "core" technology, and if your graphics card does not support that technology then it will not do it. The transparent menubar works on my G5 with a Radeon X800XT, but it doesnt work on my PowerBook G4 (Radeon 9000).

  • How do I get TITLE BAR ONLY to display for a window (without minimizing the whole window)?

I want ONLY the title bar to show, then resize to normal then shrink when I ask it to.

Here is an extension that you can control which toolbars show in '''Full Screen''' mode ("'''F11'''), and in what he calls '''zombie mode''' which I would call '''Full Window''' mode ("'''Shift+F11'''")
    This is with Menus showing.
The title bar will show in zombie mode, not in Full Screen mode ("F11")
The change that I make in the options myself is that the tabs bar always shows
I like to see the title bar normally but in either of those two with the tbs bar displayed, I can hover over the active tab to see what the title actually is.v

Then i downloaded adobe flash player for live streaming. It came with toolbar on the side, which is impossible to read without magnifier. Opened Explorer to compare- everything in normal (large) font . First time i see it, is there any solution?

  • Iview Name on the page title bar

    Hi All,
For our ESS/MSS iviews, text specified on the service (IMG Configuration) used to appear on the Page title bar. We have recently upgraded our Portal and backend system and now instead of the text speacied on the service, iview name appears on the page title bar.
For example .. The iview name is Address and in the SPRO we created a service called "Address XYZ". On area page the service appears as "Address XYZ", but when we click on the link on the page title bar it shows "Address" instead of "Address XYZ"
Please let me know how change this.

  • Title bar untitled via smb share

QuickTime 7.4.1 for Windows, downloaded and installed over an existing QuickTime installation.
Prior to update (unknown version, quick troubleshoot), Quicktime Player would play .mov files either 2x clicked from the desktop or from an smb share. Locally opened clips would display the text: filename.mov in the title bar which is a desired behavior. When the clip was opened from a share, the title bar would read: "Untitled", unless multiple Player windows were open: "Untitled 2" and so on. When the Player window was closed, a windows error would appear, and Quicktime Player had quit.
Updating allows for the opening and closing of files in the absence of error dialogs (cheers!). However the title bar still shows a variant of "Untitled" if the file is opened from a share.
Other PCs in the same environment display a SMB path in the title window, which would be dandy.
It gets silly showing this to clients. "I prefer the saturation of Untitled 4 to that of Untitled 9". and so on....
    Thanks for any information.
I'm looking to the samba logs shortly....
    -c.

I don't know anything about Samba servers but I do know QuickTime.
QuickTime Pro can add a "title" to any file so that title shows in the Player window instead of the default file name and extension.
To set a title open the file with QuickTime Pro and open the Movie Properties window. Under the "Annotations" tab you can enter a title and other useful information that travels with the file.
I'd bet it would work on your files.

  • IMessage title bar shows contact number only

With the iMessage, I found if the person is using iMessage instead of text messages, the title bar shows the +1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX number, rather than the contact name, which is already in the contact.  Even I tried to add the number again, it still shows me the number only.  Some people don't have this issue, but I do.  Is there a setting I can change to fix this?  Thanks!

I am having the same problem, all imessage messages are showing up as +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx and as a result aren't showing the name.  I have to add that number to the persons name to get the name to show up, but then I have duplicate numbers in my contact details for eacher person, with one with a +1 on it.

  • Title Bar - Show DocTitle only?

How can I set FM8 (Windows) so that the title bar shows only the document title and not the entire pathname?
    Thank you kindly,
    Elchanan

    Thanks for the info, Grundtvig.
The tool-tip works, but takes 2 seconds to appear on my screen, plus one second to get the mouse to that point, times 15 documents open at once, equals up to 45 seconds just to figure out which document to click on, compared to the four seconds it would take if the shortened bars had the basic sense to show the file name. I think I'll go for the Window menu.
They really should have sorted out this obvious interface problem a long time ago, but I'm not sure who "they" are. Is this an Adobe choice or a Microsoft choice to do it this way?
The tabbed bar in FM8 is another possibility, although this takes up the same quantity of screen real estate that the shortened bars take up, and would have been unnecessary if the shortened bars showed the file name as expected in the first place.

  • Window resized to show only title bar and pushed off screen viewing area

Anyone else experiencing this strange phenomenon?
I open some PDF documents, then leave the computer for a few hours.  When I come back, they have all been resized to only show the title bar AND they have been pushed off the bottom left corner of my screen, so that only a tiny portion of the title bar can be seen. I then drag them all back up into view, and resize them so I can read them again.  Give it another couple hours of not being actively used, and they disappear back down to the corner.
    Very strange Abobe... what's happening?

Some details would help: operating system, Reader version, a screenshot perhaps: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933

  • I want to show the caption in the title bar if the tab bar is hidden.

Is there any addon or configuration setting that i can use to show the caption in the title bar instead of the tab? I want to do this because i have set my browser to hid the tab bar if only one tab is opened.

That is what i asked for but is not exactly what i want. I do not want the menubar to be shown at all. I want the tabs in the titlebar (the default behaviour). I want, when only one tab is open to hide the tabbar (this i have already succeded) and to show the caption in the titlebar.

  • Show file path in title bar CS3 Mac

Hi All, Is there a setting to make Dreamweaver CS3 Mac to

  • Windows moving spontaneously to the screen bottom - only title bar visible

I have this odd behavior on my MBP after installing Lion.  I'll be replying to a message in Mail or moving a window in finder ... and suddenly the window disappears.  Sometimes I find it down at the bottom left of the screen, with only the title bar showing.  Other times, it will "walk" to the bottom of the screen on its own ... a "stutter step at a time," while I try in vain to stop it.
In Mail, this will tend to happen if I start typing in the reply before the Genie has openened the message all the way.  In the Finder, it seems to happen if I move a window too quickly to the edge of a screen or across to my second monitor.
It's slightly maddening, and a real waste of time as I watch helplessly as windows march their way to the bottom of the screen.  Any help is much appreciated.

Hmmm ... Replying to my own message.
After booting into safe mode, and seeing no problem, I began adding back my login items one at a time.
It appears that the issues is with MenuEverywhere and 10.7 or 10.7.1.  Disable ME and all is well.

  • File path in title bar for CF files only?

    G'day
When I have a CFM or CFC file open in the edit window, its full path - relative to the project - is displayed in the title bar of CFB.  With any other sort of file, just the file name is displayed.
Now... I seem to recall switching on some "show full path in title bar..." option somewhere, but I'm damned if I can find it now.  That aside, if CFB is going to show the full path for CF files, should it not display them for all files?

  • Openbox theme only changes title bar?

Hi! Couldn't find any answer on wiki or google. I don't know if I understand this right, but I installed openbox theme, selected it in configuration but the only thing that changed is title bar, and right click menu. Programs like thunar or leafpad still have gray interface with nice >Link to theme <. I'm guessing that installing theme and selecting it isn't all to it. So what is it?

Yes, you have to install the openbox theme to have the nice titlebar, but the gtk theme is the one that sets the "look"

How can I show a .ico file on title bar? I have got a code but it shows only .jpg and .gif files on title bar.
    My code is here:
    ImageIcon image = new ImageIcon("symbol.jpg");
    setIconImage( image.getImage() );

    Hi,
you can't display .ico file, only .gif, .jpg and .png. If there are any other file formats that you will display I don't know. So you have to transform .ico file into one of these formats.
