Title editing when Sequence Zero Point changed

I have this problem with CS5 and also previous versions of Premiere Pro...
When you double-click title on the timeline to edit it, and Sequence Zero Point = 0, it all works fine.
But when you change the time code then you have wrong background video displayed behind the current title.
Can this be fixed please...
Look at screenshot below:
- I've changed Sequence Zero Point to 00:01:00:00
- Added Blue and Red color mattes to video1
- Added title to video2 above Blue clip, then closed title editor
- Now when I click on title to edit it I have Red clip displayed behind the text

I hadn't noticed this before (due to my workflow with titles, multicam and timecode settings, I probably never would have either). But I can reproduce it on my system (PrPro CS5).
Interesting thing is, with my sequence, the start time is 18:00:00:00 so it just shows black video behind the title. However, if I scrub the timecode INSIDE the title designer window, then it updates to the proper frame and remains that way until I close the titler window. So that at least provides a temporary workaround, but it IS a bug (since the feature is not working as it was intended to work).
It would be feature request if it was for some operation or procedure that wasn't already in the intended code for the application. So again, in this case there is a workaround, but it is technically a bug since the "Show Background Video" and "Background Video Timecode" should match up. It's just that there's a piece of logic missing when the sequence zero point is NOT "0"

  • CS6 crashing when sequence settings are changed

When I launch CS6 and select a new doc - it had default settings for the sequence. When I change them to DSLR - or anything but default......CS6 crashes, does not say why & shuts down. Tried changing them after setting everything else - same result.
    Running a HP 8770w Elitebook

nVidia K5000M (supported_cuda_card.txt in Adobe changed to read Quadro K5000M)
Any thoughts? I cannot get PPCS6 to run anything if I change the setting.

I'm sorry if I was not clear. I was referring to sequence presets. If you do not choose the proper one BEFORE working it screws up the footage. Sure, you can change the presets once working - but that crashed it too. Loved the comment though!!
On a fresh load of CS6 - the default sequence preset settings are other than DSLR - which is what I use. SO, you either change them in the first window, or do so after the sequence is open & running. Neither would work and crashed out as soon as you touch a button other than the default camera setting. We tried a number of different approaches to get the proper setting loaded. Nothing.
It turns out it's all an Adobe/nVidia issue. CS6 Premiere does not dig the Quadro K5000M.
But, after repeated attempts we found a workaround.
Fresh install of CS6 - restart
Edit the cuda_supported_cards.txt file as described in these Forums. Restart
Hack the card itself - restart
launched CS6 Premiere Pro & not only is the card there - but fully operational.
Results of speed tests in HD & 4K were amazing - this is realtime editing - finally.

  • Background removed when loop point changed

I set up a menu with a number of animated video thumbnail buttons. All worked fine.
Then I changed the loop timing value and the background layer was filled with the background colour (black) instead of the still image that was there initially. Very repeatable 'feature'. And rather boring.
Has anyone else found this? Is this finger trouble on my part or something else?

  • When mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker

I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop (P500-ST5807).
When the mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker. The problem seemed to start after I clicked "hide pointer while typing". I tried unchecking "hide pointer while typing" but this did not correct the problem. I have also tried adjusting the touchpad settings to less sensitive -- this did not help either. I have searched the internet and all types of "cursor flicker" seems to be a common problem.
Would anyone have a simple solution?
Thanks in advance for your help,

  • Sequence to Sequence 3 point edit

I am a FCP Newbie, Avid long time lover.
FCP is nice, but has it's moments.
    These forums are great.
I have been working on a project now for two months and have learnt from the manuals and the "FCP for Avid editors" PeachpitPress book (a god send).
    My question is this,
I hate the FCP subclip function so I prefer to go through my cutaway tapes and create a sequence that has all the best shots.
This way I can pre-create short sequences of shots, and save time wading through wilds when cutting.
I set F9 & F10 to "insert sequence content" and "overwrite sequence content" so that I don't end up with sequences in sequences when I final cut.
All goes well when I edit, except for three point edits.
FCP can't load sequences into the timeline from the Viewer (Avid has this handy feature so you can easily edit from one seq to another, and make navigating through footage easier!),
so I load a seq into the viewer, scrub to a clip I want,
    and press 'mark clip'.
I see that it has marked the in and out for my selected clip; good.
Then I go to my timeline and find where I want the shot to END
(sometimes I know where a cutaway should end, rather then a start point),
so I mark the end point.
    Next I press overwrite,
Now I would expect the shot to lay nicely where I marked an end.
    But it does not,
it rather inserts ALL the shots from the viewer sequence (from the in point to the end of it's sequence), and it puts them at the start of my timeline!
    Am I doing something wrong?
Has anyone found a way to make FCP behave with three point edit from seq to seq?

this is a circuitous way to work in FCP.
    How so?
I am interested in a simpler or faster way of working with cutaways and footage.
I am working on documentaries with 10s of hours of unscripted footage.
There is base voiceovers and interviews that need to be covered with cutaways and recreations.
I spend time watching all the footage and found that if I break it into subclips it turns into bins full of 100s of subclips.
So I have to label each one to differentiate them.
This takes a long time to give each one a different title.
Or I could look at the small thumbnails, but then inevitably it shows the wrong frame or doesn't give me an idea of what movement it contains.
Loading each into the viewer to view them is slow going when I could just scrub through a sequence timeline of good shots.
Mini-select timelines allow me to create much fewer clips in a bin to view.
I name the sequence as to what cutaways they refer.
And again I can pre-create small sequences, or place them in an order that is not alphabetical.
I find the subclip limits annoying very often.
When I am breaking up my wilds I select the exact duration of a clip that looks nice
(I can fairly well spot how long a shot looks good before it misses it's target, or doesn't suit the style of edit).
But sometimes I need to extend it, or often add dissolves in the sequence in one of the many tweaking stages of editing; subclip limits are really annoying then.
Is there a way to always remove subclip limits when they are inserted in a sequence?

correction needs to be made to step #14, I typed:
    14) Point to the start or end one of the clips, when you see the icon showing arrows going either way, right click and drag your clips to roughly match up with the timeline selection, then zoom in further and adjust the clip start and end points to match up exactly with the timeline selection start and endpoints.
Here is the correction, THE CORRECTED PARTS ARE CAPITALIZED:
    14) Point to the start or end OF one of the clips, when you see the icon showing arrows going either way, LEFT-CLICK and drag your clips to roughly match up with the timeline selection, then zoom in further and adjust the clip start and end points to match up exactly with the timeline selection's start and end points.
    Another Correction:

  • Flash 8 - zero point for x, y changes in slide screens

When I begin building a slide presentation in Flash 8, the x
and y zero point for the stage is at the top left where I would
expect it to be. So I place a few things on the stage, add a slide
or two and suddenly the zero point is in the center of the stage. I
am not sure when exactly it happens or why. How do I stop this from
happening? How do I correct or set the point back to the top
    left?

Actually our users are complaining that the Flash 10 grayscale antialiasing on device fonts does not look as good
as the Flash 8 style antialiasing.Virtually everyone uses LCD monitors now, and it seems like the Flash 8 color
dithering produce better results on these displays.
It is demonstrated that the Flash 10 player will render device fonts with
different algorithms when it is using AVM1 or AVM2, so what I would like to know is if there is any way to have programmatic control over this
choice in my Flash 10 application, so I can get the Flash 8 style antialiasing, or control other parameters on a device font,  like sharpness, etc.

    Hi,
    This should not happen.
Having said that it will happen to some extent of you Paste in a larger amount of text.
Does holding down the ALT key and hitting Enter/return a couple of times expand the window ?
This normally adds Line Breaks to the Text Field
If this does not work it will point to a windowing issue which is related to data held in com.apple.ichat.plist
Go to the Finder and it's Go Menu.
In here hold the ALT key so you can see the Home Library item and select that
    Open Preferences.
Find the com.apple.iChat.plist and the associated .lockfile and drag both to the Trash.
    Restart iChat.

  • Event when Sequence changes

    Hi!
In my GUI application I need to get the name of 'Sequence' when 'Sequence' of an Execution changes. Is there any event to get this change. Please help
    Thanks

    tsgy,
I couldn't find an event that would notify you of when the sequence of an execution changes, but you don't say why you are trying to use this information.
If you just want the name of the sequence for display reasons, then you can use any of the TestStand UI Controls, such as the Label.  Then you can use ExecutionViewManager.ConnectCaption with the Caption Source of CaptionSource_CurrentSequence

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

  • Problem with inserting title sheet in sequence

    Hi everyone,
I've recently started using Premiere Pro CS5 so I've only mastered the basics, but up untill now everything went well.
    My problem is as follows:
To add a title in a sequence, I could drag it from the Project Menu in my sequence or click on the right mouse button and select the option 'insert' or 'overlay'.
Currently however, the right mouse menu does not display these options, i.e. they're grey and unclickable. Moreover, when I drag a title to the sequence, it automatically 'overlays' instead of 'inserting'.
In order to insert a title in my sequence, I now have to open in in te Source Monitor (that option is clickable), choose 'insert' and drag the title in the sequence. It's quite laborious and frustrating, since I have a feeling it's just a matter of changing my settings...
Could you please help me out on this one?
    Thanks!

When editing from the Project Panel via right-click or keyboard shortcut, you must have tracks targeted in your sequence. Here's a comparison:
Basically, you have to tell Premiere where you want the clip to be inserted or overlaid, and that's accomplished with the track selectors being on or off.
Moreover, when I drag a title to the sequence, it automatically 'overlays' instead of 'inserting'.
Hold down the Control/Command key to do an insert edit; you'll see the mouse pointer change to indicate the different type of edit.

    Hi,
When I create my facing pages indd file, it only gives me one zero point for 2-page block. How can I change it to have two zero points - one for each page.
I already have this, but it's not helping:

    Thank you.

    I found it:
