Title Safe help, please!
Hi,
I have finished my movie. It's about 45 minutes long, over 100 clips long. after watching it on a 4:3 tv, I see that too much of the picture is getting cut off.
Can someone tell me step by step how I can correct this?

I think the suggestion was to film again, not just edit again!
There are consequences to just scaling, because the original video is two fields per frame, and having those fields blend together when you scale them will cuase terrible artifacts. To avoid that you'd probably have to deinterlace all of the clips in FCP, and then scale everything. When you then export that you have the opposite problem, that you have effectively 30 frame per second that will play back on 60 fields per second TV, and that will have its own distractions. On top of all that, many screens will now show a border around your videos.
You might want to look at the DVD on a computer and on Plasma, LCD and DLP screens, and decide that maybe the amount being cut off for CRT viewers isn't worth all of the troubles you'd have to go to in order to fix it.

Frames w/Text-like u can do in Windows Movie maker- Help Please

Thank youit takes 3 apps' to do it, and *****,, they don't all fit, u have to plan ahead, and u can't edit them in the timeline like u can with windows movie maker, and found out they had this imovie HD6, and took out although had to paste in text still meaning using another app for some of them.
I can't believe apple took it out to force you to buy FCE.
downdloaded HD6, but it not importing movies already imported to iphoto 09 that then imported to imovie 09, the cutting, editing clips is easier in '09, and I can;t find video turials on 06, except to pay for, only pdf hard for me to read take in alot of type, brain shuts off, neuro problems and brain damage.
just abbout had it with mac and which had sent it back in time, they said give me $500 to keep it, then didn't give that much, i think big mistake for me.
i sitll tryin to hold on abit here, i just posted in iphoto as well, fed up with it, it got it for imovie'09 doesnt even ahve the features i need, they took them out, everything drag drop import here there and everywhere.

Can not turn on Title Safe overlay, only Timecode overlays work HELP.
For some reason when I try to turn on Overlays in the Canvas, only Timecode turns on. I can not seem to turn on Title Safe, please help.
SebastianIt means go into your System Preferences, select DISPLAYS and set the monitor to MILLIONS, not THOUSANDS. This isn't done in FCP, but in the operating system.

Macbook Pro 15" will only boot up in Safe Mode - Please help!
My Macbook Pro will not boot up normally. It goes past the screen with the apple and the wheel and then just stays white. Also on the screen there are little rectangular blocks going across diagonally. In Safe Mode, it boots up but with little square blocks going across the screen. Can anyone help please?
Firstly, see this article: Mac OS X- What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? and this one: Gray screen appears during startup.
Secondly, try the following:
Delete caches to resolve some startup problems:
Boot into single-user mode. After startup is completed you will be in command line mode and should see a prompt with a cursor positioned after it. At the prompt enter the following then press RETURN after each commandline:
/sbin/fsck -fy
If you receive a message that says "***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****" then re-run the command until you receive a message that says "** The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK." If you re-run the command more than seven times and do not get the OK message, then the drive cannot be repaired this way.
If you were successful then enter:
/sbin/mount -uw /
rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/*
rm -rf /Library/Caches/*
reboot
I suggest you print out the above to be sure you do not make any errors when entering the commands. When in single-user mode you have 'root' access, so it's important that you not make any mistakes.
Lastly, reinstall Snow Leopard if the above doesn't help. This will not erase the drive. -

go on the internet and type in find my iphone 5c but then once you have done that type in your apple ID then take it out of recovery mode hopefully that should work

My MBP didn't recognise my password, started it in safe mode, I can see my files, but I don't know what to do next, as the image of reset password isn't selectable. I just moved from PC. Need help please...
Safe mode is not what you want in this case. Reboot to recovery mode - hold down cmd-R as the Mac reboots. Go past the language-selection screen, click the Utilities menu, then Terminal. Type:
resetpassword
Followed by the return key, and follow the prompts. Reboot normally when done.

Start Up in Safe Mode: Help Please

Have a late 2012 iMac and would like to start it up in safe mode. I have heard that you press the shift key after the chime when you start it up, but have

AlfOkay. This all makes sense now. And why the OP originally thought after chimes. He is right. San Lewy, I always thought you couldn't do it through bluetooth as well. From CNET:

TV and title safe .... exporting???

I'm exporting a clip to post to my blog and I've moved a few shots up and they are all in safe title and TV safe BUT when they export you can see what's underneath the clip????? That should not be happening?

ThanksTo mirror what Jim said, because you don't seem to understand...
What you see on your monitor is EXACTLY what you will see if you export a QT movie to play on your computer. You see EVERYTHING. TVs tend to cut off some of this picture, due to the molding that holds the TV screen in place...plastic or metal covers a little of the front of the tube, thus blocking some of the image. Some TV screens were covered more than others...so TV safe takes into account the WORSE it could be. That any action inside that box is guaranteed to be seen. Title safe goes in a bit further so that the titles aren't on the edge of the screen.
Again, if you export for the web, this is moot...you get the entire image.

Hi all! I was updating the software on i pad to ios6, update was interrupted(apple update server is unavailable...). iTunes Diagnostics shows that "secure link to I tunes store failed". I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Can anybody help please?

Firewire Port not working, URGENT help please¡¡¡
Hello People, i´ve just got a new Mac Mini last week, and i´ve been trying to get my Alesis MasterControl audio interface, and is just a complete mess.
This happened right after i´ve upgraded to 10.8.3 so i don´t know, the weird thing is that if i connect my old iBook to the Mac Mini the FW800 port works, but everytime i connect the audio interface, nothing happens, also the drivers from alesis, are up to date. i first thought about the port of the Mixer went bad, but it has 2 and non of them works, also thought about the cable but the same cable works when i connect my iBook, and the mixer is not bus powered, it has it´s own power supply.
Needless to say i´ve already done the usual reset PRAM, turn of the Mac unplugged for 30 hour to reset the bus. etc.

It installs and I attempted to launch the browser and it never starts. I tried to uninstall, but it says firefox is running. I restart my computer and uninstall and try again. It still will not open after install is complete. Why won't it ever open up? Help please!
Right-click on your Windows Taskbar and select Start Task Manager. Look in Task Manager for processes running that are Firefox-related, such as Firefox.exe or plugin-container.exe. If you see either of those, right-click each of them and select "End process". Then try again to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. <br /><br />
*If Firefox will start in Safe Mode, select the option you are presented with to disable your add-ons and plug-ins and restart Firefox normally. You likely have a plug-in, add-on, or a combination of two or more that is causing the problem. Because Firefox allows users to customize endlessly, sometimes there can be conflicts between customized items. From the Firefox menu bar, go to<br /><br />Tools -> Add-ons<br /><br />then re-enable them one by one, restarting Firefox after each and testing after each one to see which one or combination of two or more is causing the problem. <br /><br />
*If Firefox will not start in Safe Mode, make sure you again check Task Manager and end any running instances, then uninstall Firefox and download a fresh copy from mozilla.org/firefox using another browser temporarily. Re-install Firefox (see: [[Installing Firefox on Windows]] for more help ) and try running Firefox again.
