Title tooltips missing

Since updating to 8.0 I have the frequent problem that title (not alt) tooltips do not display on sites where they used to work, e.g. xkcd but also others. Occasionally they do appear, but most of the time they do not. Rebooting doesn't consistently solve the problem.

If you see the title it is probably because you only have one or two tabs open.
The :Firefox: orange button kicks the titlebar out. If you want the title bar back then boot out the "Firefox: button via "Alt+V" (View menu) > Toolbars > (check) Menu bar
You can make '''Firefox 8.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Album titles are missing from some of the songs on my iPhone, but show up in iTunes normally.

    Some songs that are synced onto my iPhone are missing album names. It's completely blank. I went back and double checked on my computer, and found that the album is all there in iTunes. Furthermore, the album artwork shows up on my iPhone. So something weird has to be happening.
    For example, iTunes shows songs as having a name, artist, album, track number, year, etc. When it shows up in Music, the album is missing along with the track number (I assume). The song IS on my iPhone, it's just missing the album TITLE (not the artwork though). I can find the song under songs, but not albums.
    I went back and checked in iTunes to make sure all the obvious things weren't affecting it. I removed it from my phone, then re-synced it. I changed the artist name, album name, everything. I checked and unchecked 'part of a compilation.' I put it on a playlist, took it off the playlist, synced the album, the artist, synced nothing and dragged it to my iPhone. Nothing worked. For the life of me I can't get this album name to show up for all the songs on this album. It's weird because the album is definitely shown in iTunes, and the song definitely gets synced to my iPhone without that data.
    I'm completely at a loss here. Any thoughts?

    I have this same issue.  All the data (including artwork) is in iTunes, but on py phone (4S, current OS). the album title is missing.  If I'm using bluetooth to connect to my car, it shows as "Unknown Album."
    There isn't any rhyme or reason to it.  I've had it happen to singles as well as one track of a complete album.  It doesn't seem to matter if artist matches album artist or not or whether it is part of a compilation.
    One more bit of information.  I recently purchased the entire soundtrack for Hairspray.  At first the album name was on my phone no problem.  Then I went into iTunes and edited some track information, changing the artist name (and album artist) to "Cast Recording" and removing the check for compilation.  After making those changes, the album name went missing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Safari 8.0 Title Bar missing?

    I just updated to Yosemite 10.10.1 and got Safari 8.0 in the bargain.
    It's working fine, except there are no title bars on the top of the page. At the very top, I have the RYG traffic light, and next to it my buttons and the search field, but the title bar, which should be above that and display the page title, is missing. There doesn't seem to be a preference or option for this. Am I missing something?
    I can't believe Apple did away with something so useful (although their "improvements" aren't always an improvement), so I'm assuming there's something wrong and it's not just a new "feature"
    Thanks for any replies.

    There are several things about the appearance of yosemite that I don't like, and I just started using it. Mainly the title bars of most applications are so blandly indistinguishable, when I want to click on a title bar and move a window, I often click on the wrong thing, often popping a different window to the top that I don't want...
    Now when in Safari, I don't know where I am in within a site unless I click on the url box… Maybe there is a preference setting, so much to figure out.
    As for your complaint, I think it is that you cannot see the complete descriptive title of the web page when several tabs are open. If you just place the mouse curser on the tab, and leave it there for a second or two (be patient!), the complete title appears in a pop up display box. If you move to another tab after that, usually the display box comes up without the 1-2 second delay. Usually, but not always. Usually, but not always? I'm still figuring some of this out. If you move on top the "x" close box, it eventually pops up an entirely different message, and sometimes when you get that, then it doesn't pop up the title even if you move off the box, you have to move completely off that tab and then back on again.
    I've always hated the close box within the tab : When using tabs, if you want to view the web page that has a tab, then click on tab, EXCEPT don't click anywhere on the left part of the tab otherwise you might click on the previously invisible close box which then does the opposite of what you want, it closes the tab! It is a bit better in Firefox, but still bad design.
    The descriptive title pop up thing worked in the old safari, at least in 6.2, also.
    When only one tab is open, I'm not sure how to see the descriptive title at all, except go to the top menu bar and click on window, and look at what has the check mark? Time to experiment with preferences.     Grrr.

  • I bought an album from iTunes, the artwork and title is missing.

    I am using iTunes 11.0
    I bought Eminem - Curtain Call (I was feeling nostalgic due to the new Leeds Fest line-up) and the album artwork and title is missing.  I have tried deleting and re-downloading a number of times. Even changing the title and artwork manually won't work.  Sometimes after re-downloading, tracks appear to be missing, while others have the artwork and title.
    I have no idea why it is happening, if I wanted this hassel, I would have downloaded a torrent.
    Please help guys, I am a little bit OCD when it comes to organising my library haha

    Delete the current copies and then download again (free) from your purchased history. If the problem persists contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

  • Change title, tooltip and icon for About button in published Webhelp?

    About Webhelp  is just plain wrong.  The tooltip ought to read "About <project name>" and the title bar for the About window should be eliminated (or else have it read About <project ver xx>.
    How do I do this?
    Likewise, is it possible to change the ICON for the About dialog in the toolbar of a published Webhelp project?

    I have the same issue.
    I modified the whskin_banner.htm file to control what displays for the About button.  The only thing I can't figure out is how to modify the tooltip.  It still says "About Webhelp" when you hover over it.
    I searched the whskin_banner.html file for the words "About Webhelp" but nothing was found.  I looked in the Edit Skin wizard and couldn't find anything either.  I also searched the Skinny on Skins and it doesn't address this issue.
    How do I change the About tooltip? Did I miss something?
    Thanks!

  • Image title tooltip (not alt text) doesn't work

    There are half a dozen or so existing help requests mentioning alt text or discussing problems with the Google Toolbar add-on, but this is not my issue, so I am opening a separate help ticket.
    If you are here about "alt" text, first read any of the posts explaining that "alt" text isn't supposed to appear, it's just a quirk of IE that it sometimes does, FF4 is correct and does what the standards ask and what other browsers do. You want "title" text. The best explanation seems to be:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/804893
    If you have the Google Toolbar installed, turn it off and see if you get them back. This is a known issue, eg:

    Now, still not getting tooltip popups for here or here?
    http://www.xkcd.com/

    Neither was I. I *did* get them in safe mode, but I did a lot of resetting and mucking about without any luck. In the end, after doing a text diff between safe mode and not, of the Troubleshooting information (in the Help menu), I found that the issue might be Direct2D-related, and changed the flag "gfx.direct2d.disabled" to true in about:config. I now have tooltips back but a less efficient FF4.
    Hope that this helps someone, and hope that the Direct2D issue gets sorted out!

  • Boris "Title 3D" Missing

    Hey everyone,
    I've been doing a lot more work in FCE lately, and I've noticed that the "Title 3D" title generator has disappeared. I have some older projects I work on routinely that are loaded with the Title 3D, and I remember using it recently, I just can't find it. Where has it gone?

    iMac Flat Panel   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   800 MhZ PowerPC, 512 MB RAM

    Been missing for me past couple of months (from FCP 5.1.4). Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, removed all user fonts, trashed every possible preference, run Cocktail and all manner of disk programs, and it is still missing.
    It DOES work when I created a new user as suggested above. But I want to know what it is in my library folder that is preventing it from loading in my 'real' user account! I don't want to recreate every setting in all my other programs just to get Title3D to come back.

  • Mac OS 10.7.2, Apple Title Bars are there, Other Window Title bars missing.

    I just purchased a new iMac yesterday. I have been downloading WoW with the Blizzard Launcher, I can see the Apple Title Bar on the Launcher Window (3 little circles and white bar). However I can't see the Blizzard Menu Bar, is there a way to recover this bar? I need it to turn off P2P and that is the only way. Thanks for the help!

    I understand that, yet this is a Mac problem not a third party problem as it has happened to 3 different things. All of the software I have downloaded comes from very reputable companies from which thousands of people have used. I am not sure if you know but BLIZZARD aka WORLD OF WARCRAFT, has Millions of downloaders. So please if someone is asking for help, try to be civilized and give an informative answer, otherwise please don't post as you have just wasted my time and anyone else that could possibly have the same issue. And certainly don't rule out that the problem isn't OS X.
    Has anyone else had the issue where the menu bar is missing icons/tabs? If you could provide some info as I am very new to Apple products (less than 24 hours of being an owner). Thanks again for any constructive feedback.

  • CS5 Camera Raw Tooltips Missing Shortcuts

    The Camera Raw tooltip is missing the shortcut hint. How do I enable this? Thanx

    If you're on Windows, this sounds suspiciously like the problem solved in the Photoshop 12.0.3 update.

  • Tooltip missing when using bindElement on VerticalNavigationBar

    Hi,
    I'm facing a problem for a couple of days now and was wondering, whether the SCN might be able to help: Starting from a tree structure
          // set up a tree structure
          var oModel = new sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel();
          oModel.setData({
            things: [
              { name: "1",
                things: [
                  { name: "11",
                    things: [ { name: "111", things: [] },
                              { name: "112", things: [] } ] },
                  { name: "12",
                    things: [ { name: "121", things: [] },
                              { name: "122", things: [] } ] },
                  { name: "13",
                    things: [] } ] },
              { name: "2",
                things: [
                  { name: "21",
                    things: [ { name: "211", things: [] },
                              { name: "212", things: [] },
                              { name: "213", things: [] } ] },
                  { name: "22",
                    things: [ { name: "221", things: [] } ] },
                  { name: "23",
                    things: [ { name: "221", things: [] } ] }
    I'd like to display all nodes of a certain level in a VerticalNavigationBar. When selecting an item, I'd like to have the NavigationBar changed to the content of the node clicked. It does work the way I'm approaching it, but I'm continuously getting the same error 'TypeError: i.getTooltip(...) is null' from inside the function 'sap.suite.ui.commons.VerticalNavigationBar.prototype._hideTooltip' and '..._showTooltip'. Here is an example gist. The relevant source in the NavigationBar is this:
         // Allow to click on an element to ascend up into the tree
          var oNavBar = new sap.suite.ui.commons.VerticalNavigationBar().
        bindAggregation("items", {
            path: "things",
            template: new sap.suite.ui.commons.CountingNavigationItem({
                key: "{name}", text: "{name}", tooltip: "Hmmm ..."})
          attachSelect(function(oSelectEvent) {
            // FIXME: Clicking yields
            // TypeError: i.getTooltip(...) is null
            var sPath = oSelectEvent.getParameter("item").
            getBindingContext().getPath();
             oSelectEvent.getSource().bindElement(sPath);
          bindElement("/").
          setModel(oModel).
          placeAt("content");
    I don't know whether I'm missing some relevant option to set or if I'm simply holding it wrong ... but no matter in what way I tried to add tooltips to the CountingNavigationItems, the error kept popping up.
    Thanks in advance,
    M.

    Hi there,
    just in case someone else is struggeling with this as well: The above gist now contains a hacky solution (see below). I just override the tooltip display and hiding.
          // FIXME: This is a bit hacky ...
          // override the default to avoid error messages popping up in
          // the debugger after clicking to navigate
          oNavBar._hideTooltip = function() { };
          oNavBar._showTooltip = function() { };
    With this, the debugging console is no longer polluted with error messages (see screenshot showing an error message as described in the original post, appears when the debugging console is enabled and the mouse rests over one of the items)
    ... but now I'm not able to get tooltips anymore. But I think I can live with it.
    Yours,
    M.

  • Title Presets missing. Premiere Pro CS6

    My title presets are missing in premiere pro, This occurs when I go to create a title and no presets are available. I have downloaded adobe encore CS6 fucntional content and Adobe Prtemire Pro CS6 Functional Content, as suggested by adobe and other forums. I just want title templates/preset to make workflow easier. I hope there is a simpel solution rather than a string of intricate procedures.

  • PPCS4: When I export, the shadows on titles are missing!

    Hello,
    I am using PPCS4 on Windows 7 (64-bit). I have a cineform sequence (1080-30p) on the timeline. Some of the titles I have use a drop shadow from the BCC6 effects from Boris FX.
    I can see the drop shadow fine in the timeline (rendered or not) but when I export to any format, the shadow is missing.
    Any ideas?
    Simon

    Simon,
    If you find that there is a compatibility issue with the Boris plug-in and a 64-bit OS, please post. If this IS the case, I would guess that Boris is working on new 64-bit compatible plug-ins, as many 3rd party vendors are doing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
