Titles not working, Exports lag with Snow Leopard Update. PLEASE HELP!

I just installed Snow Leopard yesterday and it installed very cleanly. Afterwards, I went and opened up iMovie '09 and everything was working smoothly except for the titles. In both the preview box and the projects, all the titles and effects were either all black, or had black boxes all around them. Also, when trying to export a video to Youtube regarding my problem, I looked at the video and for the first time ever, the audio and video were not in sync. Is this Snow Leopard's fault? I have tried everything I can think of but nothing is solving either problem. If ANYBODY can help with either problem PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out! Also, if anybody is experiencing the same problem, please let me know. Thank you very very much.

I'm having the same problem. In addition to the titles doing the exact same thing you described, the titles in the globe/map also have a black box, and some of the transitions don't work properly. I called Apple Care last Friday, and spoke to 2 people. We were not able to resolve my issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling iMovie, removing the preferences, reinstalling snow leopard, creating another user account, and a bunch of other stuff. I did receive a case number, so as soon as I find out more information I can let you know. I am not having any problems on my other computer, so I guess it's a computer specific problem.

  • Word attachments does not work in mail with Snow Leopard

I have installed Snow Leopard - and now I cannot attach word files to my mail (it seems as if word files in 2008 format work but not the .doc). I click the file just to find out if it is the right one I have attached - this leaves me with a message tat the file cannot be opened by Mail.
    What can I do?

It is a known problem, and bug report has been filed about not being able to open some files in the Compose window while preparing a message. Hopefully will be fixed by the next update. Is there another dimension to the problem you are reporting? If you save the message as a Draft, close, and then reopen from the Draft mailbox, does the file then open?

  • Acrobat 9 not working in Safari with Snow Leopard

I am unable to use my Arobat 9.3.0 as a reader for pdf files in Safari . I have recently purchased a new iMac, running OSX 10.6.2, successfully instaled web premium cs4, and all is working OK...except that the nice acrobat style menu bar is missing. I have no problem with this using my older power pc running safari 4 under system 10.5.8.
The Web browser option indicates acrobat 9.3.0 is supposed to be the viewer for pdf. but it is completely greyed out, and I am unable to change it under internet preferences. I tried the support page and found advice for ensuring web viewing inside safari with acrobat 8 - namely going into the LIbrary>internet plugins folder and removing acrobat pdf viewer, then running repai installation in acrobat. But this made no difference.
    anyone have any suggestions?
    cheers

You have started this annoying discussion.
I don't have any problems with my OS instead of you.
I have already told you what to do, if you have no idea how to do that just go and buy yourself another support subscription from your mac support.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system. check that.
what version of JAVA do you have in your fancy OS? most of the time upgrade java to the latest version will fix the issues.
Update java from sun website not from another mac tore.

    I'll try your suggestions....Thanks!
Recently, I try to Re-install Snow Leopard, unfortunately, still unsuccessful.
The Mybook Icon only appears if it is connected via USB.
After using Firewire and getting used to the speed...USB 2.0 is like a Corvette racing a Veyron...lol
I am not upset on these issues, it is normal for new OS to have these problems...unfortunately, even OSX is not invincible.
I'm sure Apple/Steve is on every Programers A*s for a solution.
I still think APPLE'S OSX will still be the future of Operating system!
For now, still waiting for the patch and hopefully soon.

  • Can you tell me why iPad 2 is not cannot to laptop with snow Leopard it doesn't cannot it

Can you tell me why iPad 2 is not cannot to laptop with snow Leopard it doesn't cannot it

You question is garbled. Are you saying your iPad cannot connect to a laptop with Snow Leopard? Restart your computer. Start iTunes and check for updates. If there are any updates to itunes download and install it. Then restart your computer and start iTunes.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
Finally connect your iPad to your computer. Use a USB on your computer that is not on the keyboard or connected to a hub.
If you do these things and it still doesn't show up in iTunes on your computer report back here and explain clearly just what happened.

  • Definite Latency / Lag with Snow Leopard

Hi - I just wanted to post my experience trying to figure out why on earth I was suddenly experiencing such terrible lag/latency on my Mac and how I figured out it was Snow Leopard. I had recently upgraded to SL, but didn't immediately make the connection.
Initially, all I knew was that I had terrible lag even while my boyfriend was using the same internet connection through a Belkin router (on a PC), and did not have any lag at all.
    We tried the following fixes:
    - Rebooting the router/modem
    - Rebooting my computer a ridiculous number of times
    - Repairing disk permissions
    - Repairing disk
    - Changing DNS settings to google's open DNS (note: this seemed to fix it for a couple weeks, but the problem returned)
    - Flushing cache
    - Changing other settings suggested by people on other posts
    - Doing a bunch of terminal commands, including sudo killall mDNSResponder
    - Reinstalling Snow Leopard
    - Trying to connect using a neighbor's wifi (I still had lag w/ this, and my boyfriend did not.. another indicator that the internet itself was not the problem)
Finally, I decided this was probably a hardware issue and purchased a new Macbook Pro. This did NOT solve the problem; almost immediately I had terrible lag again (note - this lag happened while I was surfing the web, but was most noticeable while gaming online).
At this point, my boyfriend and I had tested almost every possible theory: internet connection, hardware, software bug, dns, etc... The only possibility remaining (unless there was some kind of intrinsic problem with every Macbook pro) was Snow Leopard. Googling this issue resulted in plenty of posts about some networking bug with snow leopard.
And so, we figured out how to work Bootcamp and installed my online games through it and POOF - problem GONE. I now surf the web and play games through Bootcamp. I really hope Apple comes out with a fix for this. It seems pretty extreme to have to switch to a different OS to solve lag problems.

We have the same problem. Brand new MacBook Pro, old XP PC with cheap wireless card. The PC has ming of 12ms at pingtest.net, the Mac runs at 40ms. (OK, suddenly, with no changes here, the Mac has pings of 1200+ms. I hope that passes.)

I have an old mac version 10.5.8  I need to update to snow leopard and my disc drive isn't working... Can I download snow leopard without a disc?

Snow Leopard is only available on disk. Furthermore, even if you had a working disk drive, you may not be able to install Snow Leopard anyway, depending on just how "old" your Mac is. It must have an Intel processor to run Snow Leopard (Macs with Intel processors were first made in 2006), among other requirements.

  • How do I uninstall snow leopard? please help

Hey everyone, I am having a lot of troubles with snow leopard and since its not really a BIG difference between leopard, i decided to go back to leopard, so ok.
I got my 17 inch mac book pro, it came with leopard, and with the snow leopard installation cd, and i installed it, now, my question is, how do i uninstall snow leopard without leaving any trace??
    please help, its really urgent
I want to go back to leopard

To do the most in terms of leaving no trace, you will need to do an erase and install. Start from your Leopard DVD by holding down c when starting up. Next, when able, choose your language and stop. Then, using the menus at the top, select Disk Utility; check to see that your volume's partition is GUID; and make it GUID if necessary. Then, erase your drive. Next, quit Disk Utility and continue the install. After the install is complete, insert your Leopard applications disk and install the programs you want. Now, you are done except for restoring you data, apps, and settings using whatever media are available to you.
As implied, you need to have a plan to get your data and apps back especially. In this regard, it may be less important for you to get your users and settings back.
If you are not prepared backup-wise, then you can use your Leopard DVD, again by starting up to it, to do an archive and install. Since you want no trace of Snow Leopard, I would not choose the option of preserving user and network settings. After doing an the archive and install, your archives will be in the Previsous Systems folder. [See posts three and five on this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2168159&tstart=25] to get more info on archiving and installing and retrieving things you may want afterward.

  • After this latest update to iOS 6, FaceTime and my WiFi network is not working for my iPhone 4S, could you please help me on what to do? I have already reset my network (which made it worst)

Could you please help me to fix my iPhone 4S
After the latest update we've had to iOS 6, I was not able to use FaceTime, it kept giving me an error that I was supposed to wait for an activation code which never arrived, after that I read many solutions which included resetting the networks, which I did to try and fix my problem. What this actually did was to break my network settings an now it doesn't recognize any wifi signal unless I have the router next to me and even the it is difficult.
Now I don't have FaceTime or access to wifi with my iPhone!
    Please help me!

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
    The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
