TM can see a file saved in the future? I'm confused

Hi All,
I am have been using Time Machine for about a month. When I say using, I have never had to restore a file; my external drive just sits there doing its TM thing.
Well, last night I needed to restore an important file and it didn’t work. So either I’ve made a wrong assumption about TM or there’s a problem with it. I’ll explain with the timeline:
17:45 - I create a Logic file.
17:54 – There is a TM backup
19:44 – There is a TM backup
20:43 – There is a TM backup
21:43 – There is a TM backup
22:15 – I change the Logic file and wish I hadn’t.
Went back to the 17:54 version in TM and found the file – problem is that it’s the same file as I just saved at 22:15. If I look at the file in the 17:54 TM backup it clearly shows the file created at 17:45 but last saved at 22:15! How can a file supposedly backed up 17:54 have a saved time of 22:15.
Anyway, I’ve obviously lost my original lovely Logic song but I really want to learn from this. I thought the entire point of hourly backups was so that you could easily revert to an earlier version of a file. My external TM drive still had 40Gb capacity.
Any help appreciated.

I have now realised what my problem was – the aliased folder is not backed up as I learnt here:

Safe mode is not what you want in this case. Reboot to recovery mode - hold down cmd-R as the Mac reboots. Go past the language-selection screen, click the Utilities menu, then Terminal. Type:
resetpassword
Followed by the return key, and follow the prompts. Reboot normally when done.

How do I access a file saved to the icloud?

I have used Smart Recorder on my IPAD to record several meetings. It says it now supports Cloud. I exported a file to icloud, and i can even see it when i pull up icloud from the control panel. However, the only option under manage files is to delete the file. I have not yet been able to find any way to access the file so i can copy it and/or save them to my PC to listen to them.
Where/how do I do this? Putting files on the cloud isn't much good to me if i can't do anything with them on my PC once they are there.

You can only access files saved to iCloud using the app that created them. If you have another iOS device or a Mac with the app, you should be able to access your recordings.
Unfortunately, you cannot use a PC to access files saved to iCloud.

This view, with the one photo big and the thumbnail strip across the top, is what happens when you double-click a photo with "Edit in: Main Window" set in the Preferences. There should be a button visible that says either Done or Return, to exit edit mode and return you to the library. If you still see only one photo, use the size slider in the lower right corner to reduce the photo size and get more thumbnails on the page.
If, for some reason, you can't exit the edit mode, you may have a corrupt preference file. Quit iPhoto. Use the Finder to navigate to Macintosh HD/ Users/ (your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/ com.apple.iPhoto.plist and move that file to the Trash. Launch iPhoto, and you should be returned to the main viewing mode. You'll have to go in the Preferences and reset them to your liking.

How do I access my files saved in the cloud

Once I filled/edited files on acrobat, I am unable to print or save, but it shows that it's automatically saved in the Cloud. How do I access my files saved in the Cloud and how can I print the edited files?

The problem may be corrupted preferences. If it persists, use the Finder's Go dropdown menu at top of screen and select Go to folder. Input ~/Library/Preferences and move these files to the Trash.

Restart the computer.

Still haven't solved this. Here's another try at a screenshot, showing just below this text for me, of my Library interface showing the C drive listed in the left panel and not showing the C drive contents. Only, as you said is intended, what is already in Lightroom.
I thought if I was not in "Catalog" I had been able, in the past, to select from anything in my C crive simply by opening that folder in the panel.
When I click import it is usually - from memory - to start the import of the already selected items. For a time that's what was happening from the above screen if I selected Import. It would apparently start re-importing the selected items and without presenting the usual familiar dialog asking about file naming, etc. Now, however, clicking Import bring up this:
Never saw this black horizontal dialog box before this situation arose. I was able to import but not as usual and I would like to get back the square (moreso at least) "white" dialog box. No clue what's going on or how to get bact to familiar ground. Ideas?

I was wondering whether it had anything to do with the network I was using. The router I am using can't access the internet and I am using the basic 192.168.1.X setup with 255.255.255.0 as the mask.
My computer has an ip of 192.168.1.2 and the xbox has an ip of 192.168.1.3. However, I am still unable to ping the xbox or even see it show up in the network. I did notice that whenever I am using another router that is connected to the internet, I can see other windows based computers in the network tab in thunar under "windows network"
Also, I do have a username and password associated with the samba setup.. so I assume maybe that has something do with it. I checked the permissions of the share folder and it was root:root with read and write permissions. I know samba is working fairly well.. but for whatever reason I can't get the xbox to connect even while it is on the same local network.

Check System Preferences > Energy Saver
Select: Put hard disks to sleep when possible
Then click: Restore Defaults

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?

My work involves preparing images for printing lightboxes and window installations. My clients require to pre-approve the photos before printing.
I usually save my files as psd but since the files are very large in this format I usually save another copy as a jpg file that has a much smaller file size. This makes it possible for me to add these to a presentation and and send them to my client.
Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time? Or do I still have to do this manually?

If you save the document manually as a PSD file in Phtoshop not from within an Action, Script, Plugin or Droplette. You may be able to write a Photoshop that would do as save as Jpeg, And you should be able trigger its execution by setting up a Script Save event using the Script event manager. When You do a manual save the script should be triggered. I wrote may be able to for I have never tried to write that script or set up a Script Manager Save event. I have only use open events.
