Just finished my update (fyi, the "Software Release" number is 10.1.0.4200 while the "OS Version" is 10.1.0.4780 -- .4780 is what is reported by myver). WiFi calling is available, but mine has a problem -- I have no E911 address specified, and the TMO site won't let me change it (probably due to the fact that I just moved, and the site also won't let me change my actual address) -- time to talk to a human at TMO!

  • N91 2.10 SW rolling out now in Updater

    Hi
SW 2.10 seems to be now rolling out in NSU (I suspect it will probably take about 2 weeks to get to all countries and operators like 2.00 did).
I bet this resolves the issue with some 3rd party applications not running, sms slow down etc
I loaded it and actually bought the BestTaskman (because so many people talked about it) and it works (its a good app too). I never owned it before so I cant say it fixed it but it works now.
Its a bit of a hassle loading each time but on the positive side we can keep getting new updates and new features some times (like WDRM)

Wow.. Nokia is really rolling.. but i must highlight..
If your phone is doing fine then there is absolutely no need for the updates.. i hope some of the bigger stalwarts would agree.
I am running the 2.00.052 version.. and the phone seems to be in perfect working mode.. no hassles whatsoever with videos or the slow sms.. in one of my previous posts i had mentioned that once i press send the msg leaves the phone within 6 seconds, which is pretty OK if not fast enough..
But knowing myself, i would upgrade it to 2.10.xxx also hahahahhaha.. just a thought...
    Cheers

  • Lumia Black begins rolling out

    Greetings Lumia fans,
From today, Nokia Lumia WP8 owners around the world will start to receive the new Lumia Black software update on their smartphones.
The Lumia Black update combines a host of new features, improvements in imaging, new apps and app updates from Microsoft and Nokia to make your Lumia smartphone experience even better. So what can you look forward to, once Lumia Black is installed?
App Folder. This brand new feature makes your Lumia experience even more fluid by giving you an option to further personalize and organize your Start screen. With App folders you can group similar apps and settings into one folder, a tile, on your Start screen.
Nokia Glance screen 2.0. Helps you keep track of information in real time, making all your most important notifications including: phone, messages, email, outlook, calendar, or any apps that use notifications such as Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, or games; always visible at a glance on your screen. It saves you time and energy.
Bluetooth LE. Will now be enabled across the full Windows Phone 8 Lumia range for compatible gadgets like the Adidas MiCoach accessories.
Nokia Refocus. The amazing Nokia Refocus comes to all Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones with 1GB of RAM and upwards. This app has to be seen to be believed, so what better excuse for showing another example:
Nokia Beamer. Sharing what’s on your phone is easier than ever with Nokia Beamer. No longer restricted to just photos, you can now beam documents, presentations, anything you like, to any HTML5-enabled screen by simply scanning a QR code on the screen. It’s coming to all of the phones with 1GB RAM upwards.
Nokia Storyteller. This app debuted on the new Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 late last year. Now the experience comes to other Lumia smartphones. The app arranges your photos for you, by date and by place, making it easier to tell the stories behind your pictures, and give extra context through the close integration of interactive maps.
Nokia Camera. Combines Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera to simplify the photo-taking experience, and ensure you get the perfect shot every time. The app has been available for Lumia PureView smartphones since last year, but it’s now coming to the rest of the WP8 Lumia range.
The latest Nokia Camera update also brings raw DNG support for Lumia 1020 owners – something that’s already available for Lumia 1520. The DNG format gives you access to pure and untouched visual information, allowing you to do more and be more creative with your images. If you are an enthusiast or professional photographer, now you can use your professional workflow with your smartphone images.
Latest generation of imaging algorithms. The Lumia Black update further improves the image quality, especially in Lumia 1020. Among others, the improvements include a new oversampling algorithm, making your images more natural looking with reduced noise, while ensuring your photos remain wonderfully sharp.
The Lumia Black update also brings a series of enhancements from Microsoft to Nokia Lumia smartphones. These include safe driving mode – which cuts out unnecessary distractions when you’re on the road; customised ringtones for each contact. You can now also close apps within the in multitasking view and lock the screen rotation if you wish.
“Nokia Lumia Black updates the imaging experiences on your Lumia and makes using the Windows Phone even more fluid. New App Folders and the ability to close apps in multitasker are my personal favourites. I also encourage everyone to try out the Nokia Refocus app that introduces a whole new dimension to photography,” says Samuli Hänninen, vice president of software program management for Nokia’s Smart Devices business.
    How do I update?
The Lumia Black update has begun rolling out now for Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 smartphones, with other models in the range following in the coming weeks. For more information go to http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/.
Your Nokia Lumia smartphone automatically checks for updates every week, and will notify you when it finds one. Otherwise, you can go to Settings -> Phone update and check for yourself. If Lumia Black is ready for your phone, you’ll be able to download and install it straight from that screen.

Why is the Black update for Lumia 810 listed as not available?
Does that mean Nokia has abandoned my device and I shouldn't hold my breath to see any fixes for it in the future?
Is there a way to get this update through other channels (such as the "developer preview" that Microsoft did before GDR3 started rolling out) or is Nokia just killing support for yet another phone a year after the release?

I also have this question...I was really bummed when i saw this. Hoping this is not the case.

  • Explain about Roll Out Project

    hi
Please explain about roll out project
    thanks
    ganesh

    Hi,
    Roll -out Project:
Extending the business functionality from corporate office to its branch office. Example: You have main office in USA and you implemented SAP. Also you have branch in India and want to implement in India. When implementing SAP in India office( having same company in corporate level and assigning a company code for India to the same company), you can say it's a roll out project.
    SAP Upgrade:
SAP Upgrade is nothing but upgrading the software with a superior version which has got more advantages when compared to the earlier version. Consultants are to go through transactions SPAU/SPDD to compare the old and new version of the change and finally need to activate the relevant one. Some times might need to work on SAP notes.
    Implementation Project:
SAP Implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to
implement SAP software in an organization from Legacy System. It is based on best practices and case studies from various sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan ,redesign and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP) software. The SAP implementation process is made up out of Five main phases, i.e. the project preparation where a vision of the future-state of the SAP solution is being created, a sizing and blueprinting phase where the solution stack is created and training is being performed, a functional development phase and finally a final preparation phase, when the last tests are being performed before the actual go live & then support.

  • Roll-out Project Implementation

    Hi Experts
In our Company SAP is implemented for Great Britain.  Now they want to go for global implementation like USA, Denmark, Germany, Canada, Mexico etc.  In that case,  I have some doubts.
    1.     Whether the same SAP package can be used for implementation for different countries, or do we have to purchase any new SAP package?
    2.     Configuration has to be done separately for each country.  Is it not?
    3.     In case if we have to implement for two or three other countries code 99,  how do we do?
    4.     What are the other things that we have to take care?
Suitable answers will be rewarded with points.
    Regards
    Venu

    Hi Buddy,
You need not purchase any seprate packages, if client wants you can you the same for the global roll out.
But you need to take care of the user licences.
2)You have to do the configuration for each country seprately, depending up on the client requirement.
3)In your case its almost like an implementation because when it come to module wise there all lot many client specific requirements will come in to picture.
    Wish you good luck buddy
    Regards'

  • Will current HD DVRs have ext. drive capability when 1.9 rolls out or ONLY the new 500 GB DVR box?

Got the email about the $40 upgrade to the 500 GB Motorola box.  I realize that once 1.9 is FINALLY rolled out, the box will have eSATA capability to tack on a supplemental HD.  My question is, can I just not pay their $40 for the new box and instead wait until 1.9 is rolled out, and then be able to use the currently useless USB port on my current silver Motorola 160 GB HD box to hook up a 1TB drive that I can get for less than the $40 upgrade fee?
Are they are any OTHER advantages to the new box over the existing ones (feature and capability wise...I don't care about recycled materials, less energy usage, etc)?

All the 7xxx series DVRs will support an external drive.  There are no plans to utilize the USB port - too slow to support MRDVR.
The 7232 has more memory (not just the disk) and is smaller, black, and supposed to use less energy (I know you said you don't care, but I mention it anyway).

  • Rolling out ADE to Open Access Computers in libraries

(In the UK). In Plymouth we are using Secure Electronic Delivery as the default to deliver access to documents provided by the British Library. Internet Explorer 7 (and this is also known with Firefox and other browsers) causes an ebook reader detection error as part of the downloading process "Downloading this eBook requires Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader version 2.2 or later to be installed on your computer" (even though all our computers are on Reader 7.0.9). The page then provides a link to download the latest version. The problem is that, despite being told to ignore the link and scroll to the 'download your ebooks' link further down the screen, many users are clicking the update link and ending up with Adobe Reader 8 without ADE, or a misfunctioning ADE because they do not have administrator rights, or a screen which hangs and does nothing, or an ADE that will not allow them to print. In open access areas all computers are locked to a standard 'frozen' image which is restored after each log-out. Users, therefore, are unable to save any changes which means that they also have to repeat the steps every time they want to download an SED everytime they log-in. (Yes, because of 'easy activation', we also have to make it clear to these users that it is 'download and then print' or there is no further access to the document, despite a 14day access rule; and no-use of memory sticks too!). We would love to be able to maintain our ability to standardise these computers on the latest version of the Reader software, but are unable to do so because we do not have the manpower to manually install ADE on each computer (over 2,500!) to make it part of the 'locked' image. We know the eBook Reader detection error is most probably caused by the underlying software technology difference between IE7 and Adobe 7 and would hope that installing Adobe Reader 8 and ADE would restore the seamless process that we had long established using the Reader 7 series!
Could not Adobe please consider a means by which, say ADE 1.5, could be packaged and rolled-out centrally? Then also consider doing the same for future releases - it would really make life easier for everyone. If not we will have to remain on Reader 7.0.9 and users will 'suffer' as the technology becomes more and more obsolete, and suffers from more and more problems caused by a widening gap in software technologies. We understand the idea behind the decision to make ADE an IRA (internet rich application) but the growing use of DRM and the need to delivery these documents within closed environments, to people who cannot be given full access permissions, means that there should also be a concurrent method to allow updating in such situations. Our 'problem' rate for SED is beginning to climb (from under 3% (based on 16,000 transactions) before the release of Adobe 8, to 6% afterwards (based on 7,000 transactions). Before the release of 8, 70% of the problems were because people didn't read instructions we provided; after 8's release, 70% of the problems are caused by the technologies (eBook detection; downloading Reader 8 and not ADE; ADE not functioning due to local permissions etc etc). These seriously affect the value of the service and also the perception people have of the service and of Adobe products (eg: the IE7 error states "Adobe eBook Reader not detected" so, even though your product may not be to blame for the users' inability to get to their document, they blame Adobe Reader, especially if they know they have Reader 7 installed!
My apologies for a long post but I consider it an important issue as well as it being important to lay out some of the logic and arguement as to why.
    Graham

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this long and accurate post. We are very much aware of this issue and are working as hard as we can to resolve this. It might not be possible to squeeze it into 1.5, but we will get to it as soon as we possibly can.
Can you submit a support incident at www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions/ so we can try and resolve the immediate problem (incorrect detection and misleading message)? We can also discuss offline how your organization and our can work together to resolve the larger problem. Thanks.

  • BlackBerry 10.2 OS Begins Roll Out

BlackBerry 10.2 OS Begins Roll Out — New Reasons to Love your BlackBerry 10 Smartphone, Big and Smal
    From the Inside BlackBerry blog:
BlackBerry 10.2 OS introduces new features like BlackBerry Priority Hub, BlackBerry Natural Sound, and BBM now in any app that will help you be more productive and stay better connected when it counts. Plus, with hundreds of new refinements, BlackBerry 10.2 makes the things you do every day faster and easier. Here are just some of the new features you’re going to love in BlackBerry 10.2:
    BlackBerry 10.2 Highlights:
    Priority Hub
Keep your important conversations closer than ever with the new Priority Hub. Always at your fingertips, Priority Hub learns what conversations are most important to you and automatically puts those messages at the top of your inbox, helping you to stay focused on the critical items. On top of that, the new attachment view helps you organize files and documents across your messaging accounts and within specific message threads.
    BBM Video with Natural Sound
BBM Video has always allowed you to have a live face-to-face conversation with anyone, anywhere. Now, with Natural Sound, BBM Video and Voice conversations between BlackBerry 10 smartphones sound more natural and realistic. It’s the next best thing to being in the same room. We’re able to accomplish this because BlackBerry Natural Sound captures a wider sound spectrum, so you can hear subtle nuances that are lost in most cellular calls.
Instant Previews of BBM, SMS and Email from any app
Stay in the flow. BBM, SMS and E-mail messages now find you no matter what you are doing on your BlackBerry. See email, BBM and SMS message previews appear in any app – you can even respond to your BBM or SMS messages in any app or go to the BlackBerry Hub with a single swipe to respond to your email. Perfect for keeping the conversation going while you browse the web, watch a video, or use other apps. Of course, you can tailor these notifications to the way you work to ensure you’re only notified as much as you want to be.
    BlackBerry Keyboard
The smartphone keyboard that knows your next move just got even smarter. With personalized next word suggestion, auto-correction, and the distinctive BlackBerry keyboard layout, we’ve built this keyboard to help you have conversations with speed and accuracy. And on the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Z30, improved audio feedback with distinct tones for specific keys like backspace, and shift helps you type more confidently because you’ll have more reassurance you’ve hit the right key.
    Copy and Paste Enhancements
Copy and paste just got easier. Not only does BlackBerry 10.2 offer more precise cursor control, text selection is now easier. Once you select text, a pop up menu gives you editing options and direct sharing with BBM, Facebook and Twitter – so you can quickly copy, paste and share
    Faster, Easier Sharing
BlackBerry 10.2 learns how you share and who you share with, helping you reduce the number of steps and amount of time it takes to get your files, photos, or documents to where they need to go. Touching “share” in any app provides suggestions on who and how to share your files based on how you’ve shared in the past, and the feature only gets smarter the more you use it.
    Lock Screen Notifications
When the red light on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone is flashing, you don’t have to unlock the phone to see your message. Notifications on the lock screen now let you take a peek at the latest email, text, BBM, or notification to see if that’s the message you’ve been waiting for or one that can wait a while. You can customize which accounts appear on the lock screen and scroll over the icons to display the sender and subject line.
    Reply Now
Reply Now lets you respond to incoming phone calls, even when it’s not a good time to answer the phone. Easily send a response through BBM, SMS or email – choose from a list of standard automated responses or respond with a personalized note. Perfect for ensuring that important contacts are always given your attention.
    Calendar Enhancements
BlackBerry Calendar now comes with an ‘I’m running late’ function so you can instantly let meeting participants know if you’ll be late. You can even specify a new time in your notification. And, with a redesigned interface that makes adding an event easier, managing your time is simple.
BlackBerry 10.2 OS gives you a lot of new reasons to love your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, and we haven’t even mentioned the updates to Docs to Go, a new BlackBerry Hub icon, camera enhancements—but the best way to experience all BlackBerry 10.2 has to offer is to try it for yourself. Remember to back up before updating

  • Issue during Template roll-out during FIT-GAT session

    Hello SD Guru,
Hope you all are doing fine these days...!!!
I am facing a typical challenging situation in my Template roll-out project based out of Europe and would need some expertise advice to tackle the current situation. As a matter of fact, we are using a Development system and landscape is :- DXX --> QXX --> PXX for major Consumer Products and Goods based client, The support team works for any kind of bug fixing and small CR on this landscape i.e DXX, Development for the earlier roll-out exist in the current landscape set-up with template version 1.0. Now since we are having changes in business operating model, we are having template based roll-out in the same landscape and the new template would be version 2.0.
Could anyone suggest what should be the mitigation plan when Support team, Template version 1.0 and Template version 2.0 would be co-existing in the same environment ?
Once the realization of the template version 2 is done and after that we get any specific bugs....where do we need to troubleshoot ? Is it template version 1.0 or template 2.0. The best line of thought could be done in terms of small example...lets say Have a custom program created due to template version 1.0 for creation of Rush order and Consignment sales based on business critical field maintained in a custom table, now due to some requirement gathered during current roll-out and this functionality is extended to include free of change sales with VAT. Hence functionality (sales order create program with custom table) come to template 2.0.
If you have ever come across this kind of situation, please share your inputs or any kind valuable approach would be appreciated...!
    Thanks,
    Sarthak

  • Roll out of PC suite with SMS 3.0

    Hello,
Our company wants to roll out Nokia PC Suite 6.82.22 thru SMS 3.0.
When we do that the ContentCopier backup is placed in the Default User profile. Rebooting or logging in as another user after install doesn't change that.
When we install the MSI by hand it is placed in the current user profile. When we log in as another user and make a backup it is placed in that users profile (as it should).
I didn't find any properties or custom actions in the MSI and no registry keys or .ini files I could change to change the behaviour of the SMS installation.
I understand the Default User profile is taken because the SMS installation user has no profile but I don't understand why this isn't corrected after a reboot/logon.
Do you have a solution for us? Installation by hand isn't an option anymore after this migration.
    Kind regards,
    Marcel Bruinsma

    Thanks for your reply.
Not yet but before I start spending a lot of time on that I would like a Nokia rep. to tell me if they know about this and if they have a solution.
I can try to repackage the vendor MSI but somehow I don't think this will solve my problem.
I also mailed the message to the Dutch help desk but no sign of life from there until now.Message Edited by zhubajie on 19-Sep-200701:49 PM

Thanks for your support in advance

    1. Can i use the same types of equipment category , object types, Functional location types, Catalogs , codes, Classes and classification..etc as same as the reference system.?..How?
Mentioned details are SAP client (i.e., DEV, QAS) specific settings. So, you can use these for roll out projects.
    2. The number ranging for the equipment are external in the reference system ..can i give internal numbering.?
This is Business requirement how they want to have / see the equipment in SAP. You can go with external number range or internal number range with external number in Technical identification field in equipment master.
3.If the equipments are same in the both the projects, can i copy the tak list, maint plans..If yes..How.?
Task lists can be copied from existing one, but not maintenance plans.
    4. Please provide me information on Classes and classification how they should be done.
This is very high level question which can't be addressed here. Better open a new thread or search in forum.
