TMS Event Alert - Endpoint Drops Offline

We receive alerts from a particular endpoint (IP address statically assigned) that goes offline then comes back online quickly. In the messages.log we consistently see the following message that coincides with the alerts.

NTP appears to be configured correctly.
Comparing this with another endpoint, I don't see the same DHCP messages.
From Google, the takeaway was that the DCHP client is trying to request an IP address but the endpoint has a static IP address.
I have reached out to my network team to try and get an answer on how the connected port on the switch is configured.
Has anyone seen this issue before?

After considerable troubleshooting we found that the endpoint had a bad NIC card. Traffic was passed and calls were able to be made but we found various CDP flapping between half duplex and full duplex settings. FYI.

No events logged while VMS offline

IDS and VMS are working fine, the issue is when my Windows box running VMS goes offline(crash, reboot....). I bring the VMS box back online and poll the IDS, but it reports no events.
I tested it by running Nessus while the VMS box is offline, from the CLI I see events, but when the VMS box comes online and polls the IDS....Nothing...
Do I need to setup the IDS to store the events until the VMS box can poll again?

I did a "sh event alert past 23:00" and it does show the old alerts, however security monitor still does not show then. It only show alerts that happen while it is connected.
I cleared the alerts on the IDS. ran Nessus, then did "sh event alert past 23:00" and it did show the past events (from the nessus scan). I then turned on the VMS box. But security monitor does not show any events (it is set show earliest).
Any other thoughts?

Oracle Event alert is based on update of specific table and not on specific column in table.
However you can create a trgigger on table which is based on updat of column. And in this trigger you can send a mail using plsql.

OnSelect event for a Drop down UI Element in Webdynpro ABAP Select Options

We have built our UI based on the webdynpro ABAP Select Options. We have a requirement that, when we change the value of a drop down box in the UI, I need to hide some fields. Can anybody help me out in handling of OnSelect event of a drop down box built using webdynpro ABAP Select Options. We are on SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP1.

as you seem to be already aware, the component is dynamically built.
so you would have to enhance the code that builds the element and insert a reference to a new action (enhancement) that could handle the onSelect event.
What is it about this that you particularly want help with?

8500 Premier All-in-One printer drops offline

Periodically my wireless printer drops offline and I cannot print. This happens randomly on different PCs on the wireless network. Usually restarting the print spooler on the PC that cannot print solves the problem but sometimes I need to shut the printer down and restart it. While that generally clears the problem the printer gives me a warning that it had been shutdown improperly, even though I used the on/off button. Various PCs on the network are running Windows XP and Windows 7 -- all have this problem.

The printer does not disconnect from the network as far as I can tell as other PCs can still print and the Network report from the printer control panel shows me an IP addressl. It just goes offilne for for pne user. In XP we can see the "Printer Offline" status and click "Use online" but that is harder to find in Windows 7.
I have not upgraded firmware or software recently. I had a problem installitng and the HP Solution Center tells me it cannt run as my device installation is not complete. I have donwloaded and tried to install OJP8500vA909_Full_14.exe several times with no success. I also have HP_Smart_Web_Printing_v4.6.exe and hppiw.exe -- not sure if they are still installed.

I tried, but when I wanted to enter it in the Event Details, the table was not in the List of Values.

NOARCHIVE mode and datafile DROP OFFLINE

I have a 10gR2 database on linux that I use for testing. The db is in NOARCHIVE mode.
I had created test tablespaces on a NAS (as opposed to the system tables on the local machine). The NAS crashed, losing the drive mapping on the db machine. Of course, I couldn't start the database due to the missing datafiles. I did an 'alter database datafile 'xxxx' drop offline', which put the datafiles in RECOVERY mode in the datafiles view.
Amazingly, I was able to recover the NAS several days later, and the datafiles.
Is there any way to restore them after a drop offline? When I try to online them, I get recovery needed, when I try to recover, none of the redo logs have the right checkpoint. (The checkpoint needed is less than what are in the redo logs)
I don't care about any data that might have been lost. The data was static for months.
Any suggestions?

If the database is asking for recovery when you online the files, and you don't have those transactions in the redo logs, you can't recover to a consistent point in time to online the files.
# Note that the following is not supported by Oracle Support. You may want to ask them for a second opionion.
You could try taking a copy of all files to another location, recreate the controlfile, and use parameter "_allow_resetlogs_corruption=TRUE" to allow "open resetlogs" to ignore the inconsistent SCN. If it works, you should be able to export the data in the copy database, drop the objects in PROD, and re-import.

Issue w/ the Phone. The event alert is off. How can I fix this?

When I set an event on my calendar and I leave an alert for 5 mins to notify me before my event starts. Before it would alert be 5 mins before the event. Now it alerts me 5 mins after the event ends and in the event alert it says (ADK). How can I fix this problem? Thanks!

Go into Settings > General > International > Calendar and change it to Gregorian.

I am developing a simple event based alert on PO_HEADERS table. I want to send alerts when a PO is created.
I did all the steps according to the metalink note How To Send An Email In A Simple Periodic Or Event Alert? [ID 1162153.1]
When i create the PO, the alert is triggering, and Check Event Alert concurrent program is running. But the program completes with error.
Checking the output file (empty) log file (no errors)
What can i do here to find out what is the problem? There is nothing in the Alert Manager - History form also. I have kept 7 days as days to keep.

I found the Workflow logs, I am not sure what I am looking for, but i am not seeing any errors reported.The event viewer is supposed to send an email, so do you see anything in the logs that could be related?

Property Manager: PN_LEASE_MILESTONES_ALL (Check Event Alert)

Hi,. I tried to configure the Check Event Alert to Property Manager (PN_LEASE_MILESTONE_ALL), in the documentation , I read that I must configurate ORACLE ALERT, but I don´t find some documentation about it.
I did an Event Alert, but i cant merge the Milestone Template with Alert, by that I mean when the table PN_LEASE_MILESTONE_ALL is updated or inserts rows, the notifications email is ok, but any information about the template uses:

Error in Event Alert

My requirement is to create an alert which will send a mail when any change is made in the employee information(PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F). I tried with my local instance it is working fine. But when i try to do the same in the client instance. The alert is not getting triggered. I checked the same in the Concurrent Request in the Alert Manager Responsibility and it has ended up in error. When i checked the error log there is no error message in it. What is the possible cause for this?

What is your application release? Does it match the release your customer is running on?

Event alert is not working in HRMS

Dear All,
I have created an event alert for New Joinee. I am joining two table PER_PEOPLE_F & Per_assignment_f. I need alert to fine after insert but it is not firing it is firing if i will click on Update button in Define alert form
Can anybody help me in solving this issue.

In case you are looking to fire an event alert , when you create a new employee , it is basically an insert into PAPF table. Ensure you are selecting INSERT type of Event Alert

Custom table is registered in Custom schema, created synonym in apps and granted all priviliges to apps.
Creates event alert based on insert on custom table, though custom table is getting populated from concurrent program event alert seems to be not firing
not sure why is this happening.

Event Alert in AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE

Hi,
I have created the event alert on table AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE.
Its not firing when I am updating or inserting the invoice record in the AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE table through back end.
Could please any body guide me regarding to the Event Alert process in Oracle Apps.
I am using R12 environment .

Here is a checklist which might be useful to you. There are some extremely obvious items in the list and I apologize if some of these steps are too obvious.
1) Is the alert enabled?
2) Have you configured it as an "Event Alert"? i.e. are the 'after insert' and 'after update' check-boxes ticked?
3) What is your "action type"? email?
4) A common mistake (for me at least) is to configure an "Action Type" but not an "Action Set".
5) Have you confirmed that the SQL in the 'select statement' window of the alert is correct? (by parsing it with the "Verify" button and running it in TOAD with sample parameters?)
How do you know that your alert is not working? Because it is not sending emails? Are you able to send test emails from the "Workflow Notification Mailer"? Maybe your alert is fine but the notification mailer is down.
When you create an alert, a trigger is created on the table. If you want to check the details of the trigger you can use this query (to confirm that a trigger has been created and that it is valid);
SELECT owner, trigger_name, trigger_type, triggering_event, status
FROM dba_triggers
WHERE trigger_name like 'ALR_%_%AR'
and table_name = 'AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE';
