TNS-12203 TNS: unable to connect to the destination
I want to archive the database, but when i log on to the backup manager with user = internal, I get the error TNS-12203 TNS: unable to connect to destination.
is there other way to archive the database?
I'm not sure what do you mean by archive the database. But usually message "TNS-12203 TNS: unable to connect to destination" means your target database was listened on different port.
Verify your tnsnames.ora on the backup manager server to see if the port is the same as that in tnsnames.ora on the target database server. The default is 1521 but it could be 1522, 1523 etc...

Forms 6i - ora-012203 tns:unable to connect to the destination

I have been using Forms 6i for the past 3 years. Today, Form 10 g was installed. I can successfully connect to the database using Forms 10g. When I now use Forms 6i, I get the above error message. I have checked my TNS_ADMIN path and all is correct. Why am I now unable to connect via Forms 6i after installing Forms 10g?Locate ALL the tnsnames.ora files on your computer. There are several.
Apparently your 10g install changed the one that Forms 6i is using. Hope you have a backup.
There is probably a way to point all of the apps to use the same file, but I haven't gone to the trouble to find out how. So when I change a connection, I edit one of the files, then save it over all of them, so they are all identical.
Here are the three I use:
For Forms6i C:\oracle\orant\NET80\admin\tnsnames.ora
For Forms10, C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
For SQL Plus10 C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora -

I have oracle form (v6) application works well for years. Now we have to update our database to support unicode by create a new database in 9i and import all old data to new database. Everything work fine.I can connect to the new database with Toad and Sqlplus, but it throws the "TNS-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination" when I connect to new database with oracle form application. The oracle form still works fine with old database. Currently, both 9i databasese run in the same server.
Any body has any idea how to fix this problem?

nt OS err code: 0IIRC this version will, if it can't find your database, automatically try to connect to a database called ORCL.
This database doesn't exist in your case.
At least the error is referring to a local database called ORCL.
Specify a correct connection string.

My report server can function nicely, always I can retrieve my report but I am also constantly facing the error when running report after a few minutes having my report servers on function.
Terminated with error: <br>REP-501: Unable to connect to the specified database.
I have 2 oracle home in my server, 1 is 9i (used for ODBC to connect to my database) and 1 more is 10g where my application server is.
My both my TNS files have all the entries of the database server. In fact, we gets reports perfectly OK without problem until a certain time when the error pops up.
Pls helpI did not check the timeout because all reports were generated within seconds.

I developed the report in 10g Report Builder. and moved to 1.5.10.2 instance... ran that report in my report builder using apps user and..it is running fine in my report builder.hi bsubbu
your password of custom application user schema at database level should be similar with the password at application level
for instance your custom application schema name and password is xxgis/xxgis , we register this schema at application site by this navigation
security> oracle > register >database username (xxgis) > password (xxgis)
here you might have change your custom application user's password at database level using
alter user xxgis identified by newpassword;
change this user password at application site also :

The search request was unable to connect to the Search Service
I have upgraded from WSS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010. So far everything appears to be OK apart from my search.
When I attempt a search I get the following:

I checked the Manage Database Update Status in Central Admin and noticed the following(an upgrade is required):
Also, I checked Manage Services on Server and noticed that the only search related service is 'SharePoint Foundation Help Search'.
If I go into Manage Service Applications and click new there is no option to add a search service.
Finally I tried PSConfig:

SharePoint Foundation the search service should be installed by default. It's not the same as with 2010 Standard or Enterprise where you can create a "Service Application" for it.

When working with User-Roles (create/update) or assigning a Cloud :
"VMM encountered a critical exception and created an exception report....
search user forums for well-known failure root causes for self-help" (how sweet)... (if it's "well known", why not coding the exception handling correctly?)

I can say that :
SQL is configured by the book, that all services are running (did a reboot of VMM server too) and that all other VMM functions work OK. I don't believe that SQL is only used for user-roles...

Thomas.I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.

Unable to connect to the 2014 SQL Developer's Edition Report Server

I have been through the wringer trying to gain access to my report service. I have to admit that I am something of a neophyte with regards to SQL Server but I am pretty good with Windows 7 management in general. I have just installed
SQL 2014 Developer's Edition under Windows 7 SP1. I have connected to the database engine server and loaded a couple of databases. I chose windows authentication and can get into the report configuration manager and the SQL server configuration
manager with no problems. I have registered the URLs for both the web and report manager. I can connect to all of the other instances (database engine, analysis services, and integration services). I have to run with administrator privileges
to connect to the integration services but it does not make any difference when attempting to connect to the reporting service either through report builder 3 or connect through object explorer. I can find no relevant errors in the RS log even after
enabling logging. I have been through many of the articles I could find online but nothing seems to resolve the problem. When connecting it shows Windows Authentication and the correct domain\user. I also browse to find the service so the
URL should be correct. The error that I am getting is as follows:
"Unable to connect to the server at CALYSTO\ReportService. The specified URL might not be valid or there might be a problem with the report server version or configuration. Specify a different URL, or contact your server administrator to verify that
the report server runs SQL Server 2008 or later. Additionally, if you are trying to connect to a SharePoint-integrated report server, verify that SharePoint is installed on the server and that the report server uses SharePoint integrated mode. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)"

I have tried fixing the installation with the installation disk, removing the report service instance and reinstalling it, using the administrator account instead of mine (with is of course an administrator). I'm at a loss right now. I have spent
about 12 hours trying to track this down and so far nothing has worked. I'm about ready to reinstall the entire operating system and start all over. I thought that I would try this venue before going to that extreme.
Any thoughts, questions, or ideas would be much appreciated.

Hello Tom,
It should be "ReportServer" in the URL, not "ReportService".
In "Reporting Service Configuration Manager" look up the correct URL. Open Internet Explorer with right-mouse click => "Run as Administrator" and open the URL, this should work. Navigate to "Side setting" (on top right side),
go to tab "Security" and add your account with role "System Administrator". Afterwards you should be able to open the URL without running IE as admin.

I am unable to connect to the interent. At the top of the screen my computer says that I am connected. When I open up Safari there is a pop up that say "Community Toolbar We're sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar" and when the Safari page opens up it says "You are not connected to the Internet. Safari can't open the page .... because your computer isn't connected to the Internet." I have tried Network Diagnostics and tried to reset Sfari, empty Cache as well as deleted all of my interent history. I am unable to use Time Machine because I never set it up. If someone knows how to help I would very much appreciate it!!

I have an issue with connecting client SB1H on Windows, the scenario is as follows:
1.- Server:
Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11.3 kernel version: 3.0.76-0.11 IBM
NDB and Server are review 69 SP06
2.- Client:
Windows 8 Pro Virtual Machine on Microsoft Hyper-V
SB1H PL 11 version 32bits
SAP HANA Studio version 1.0.60
When I run SB1H the following message appears:
There is a problem with the server's security certificate. The security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority. SAP Business One is unable to connect to the server.
Any idea what could be the solution?Hi,

At home, I can connect my iPhone 5 to my home wifi network with no problems, as long as I stay downstairs.
As soon as I go upstairs my phone disconnects from the network. I can still see the home network it in the available network lists (with full signal strength), but when I try to reconnect I get an 'unable to connect to the network message'
If I move back downstairs it reconnects
This has only started happening in the past week or so
I've tried to forget and rejoin the network, but this doesn't work
I reset my network settings on the phone. This worked for a couple of hours and I could connect to the wifi upstairs, but now it won't connect again.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?Sounds like your wi-fi signal strength has degraded. Try rebooting your wi-fi router, or get it serviced.
Do you have similar issues with any other wi-fi routers? -
When you try to install RDS role on server 2012 R2 using standard deployment, this issue may occur (Figure 1).

First of all, we need to verify the configurations as it suggested:
1. The server must be available by using Windows PowerShell remotely.
2. The server must be joined to a domain.
3. The server must be running at least Windows Server 2012 R2.
4. The currently logged on user must be a member of the local Administrators group on the server.
5. Remote Desktop Services connections must be enabled by using Group Policy.
In addition, we need to check if the “Windows Remote Management “service is running and related firewall exceptions have been created for WinRM listener.
To enabling PowerShell remoting, we can run this PowerShell command as administrator (Figure 2).

However, if issue persists, we need to check whether it has enough memory to work.
By default, remote shell allots only 150 MB of memory. If we have IIS or SharePoint App pool, 150 MB of memory is not sufficient to perform the remoting task. Therefore, we need to increase
the memory via the PowerShell command below:
Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Shell\MaxMemoryPerShellMB 1000
Then, you need to restart the server and the issue should be resolved.

I tried to set up powershell remoting on a server and kept getting this error:

After a bit of troubleshooting I discovered that the problem was that the authentication packets was to big (over 16k), this will cause WinRM to reject the request. The reason for authentication packets getting too big can be because the user is member of very
many security groups or in my case because of the SidHistory attribute.
The solution was to increase the MaxFieldLength and MaxRequestBytes keys in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HTTP\Parameters
If the keys does not exists you can create them, be sure to use the DWORD type.
I sat MaxFieldLength to DEC value 40000 and MaxRequestBytes to DEC value 32768 and rebooted the server. Problem solved.
