TNS-12224: TNS:no listener - 32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
Hi,
I have a fresh install of 11.5.10.2 in windwos 2003 and I'm facing the following error in both nodes (1st node database, admin, cms (mcorafinbdcl)----- 2nd node forms and web (mcfinappcl) in 8.0.6 listener:
Error when I start the lisneter manually or I do a status:
Connecting to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(Host=mcorafinbdcl)(Port=1626))
TNS-12224: TNS:no listener
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
I have recreated the listener removing the srvice and doing a lsnrctl80 start APPS_D11i but still not working!
Please help! Thanks
Hi!
The issue I'm facing it is vaery strange and partially fixed:
1-) If you start the listener via script adalnctl.cmd or via command line "lsnrctl80 start APPS_D11i" it fails always.
2-)If you start the apps listener via services, start --> Administrative tools --> Services. It works
I'm connecting via terminal services, I have read somewhere that this could be an issue!
As well and related with this issue, when I run autoconfig (in terminal services using remote desktop connection) it hangs in step:
adsvalsn.cmd --> this command creates the apps listener
And the autoconfig finish with error:
adsvalsn.cmd INSTE8_APPLY -1
Due this adpatch is giving me an error
Thanks

Ipad also indicates connected to ITunes even when not. Tried to power off and power on again but same message. Also, restarted PC after download of latest ITunes version. When I make the USB connection I get an audible but no message about device connected. No access to Ipad in "Devices" either.
It is seen when I connect cable from ipad to dekstop then I see the message as "Ipad is in recovery mode." How can be solved this problems ?

TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error Windows XP

32-bit Windows Error: 1058: Unknown error
Any suggestions for how to fix this error? What's the status of the corresponding Windows service? OS error 1058 means normally service is deactivated. In the worst case it could be necessary to remove the service from the registry. Afterwards reboot the machine and recreate the service by 'lsnrctl start'.

Did you check whether the windows service for listener is up and running? if not please start it, by typing "services.msc" in run window and start the service. Then check whether you have listener.ora file in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin and also post listener.ora contents.

first be sure that oracle database service and listener service are started as same OS username and this user was in the list of group oracle dba
second stop all services and delete all listeners using netca and delete all files(listener.ora, tnsnames.ora) from network\admin\ folder
after create new listener using netca and check hostname in listener.ora, if everything is ok create new connection string in tnsnames .ora and then do following commands on cmd and put here result.
lsnrctl stop
lsnrctl start
lsnrctl status

TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
Hi,
I recently upgraded from oracle 9 to 10g and I get the error above.
I created a new database I CAN connect to it using sqlplus (from console), but I cannot connect using any ide.
.ora files are the following:
listener.ora:
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = loki.dev.justplus.ro)(PORT = 1521))
sqlnet:
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES)
tnsnames:
SM_LOKI =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = loki.dev.justplus.ro)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = SM)
Oracle version is:
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
When I try to start listener (lsnrctl status) I get the error:
Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=loki.dev.justplus.ro)(PORT=1521)))
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00511: No listener
32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown error
Forgot to mention the OS: windows 2003
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks. You didn't describe how you performed the upgrade process. But it looks like you performed a migration process instead. If there is no listener service listed it's because it has never been started, or even configured. You should use the netca or the network manager to configure the listener and start it. The first time it starts it shows an error on windows platforms because the service originally doesn't exist, once it is created it displays the listener status.
Please check the name resolution mechanism. If you are working on dhcp assigned IP or if you have a fixed IP. In case you are working with dynamic IP address you should configure a loopback adapter, and I suggest you reading this reference: Connectivity. Loopback Adapter.

TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
Unable to start listener service.
Running Oracle Database 11gr2 on Windows 7.
I just installed Oracle with the "install software only" option.
Already set up the instance, the database, the dictionary views, etc.
Created tsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and listener.ora as shown below.
Before installing Oracle I followed the instruction on Oracle
documentation to install a Loopback Adapter.
It is set up as the primary adapter as indicated on the
instructions. The name is "gabylan" (previously the computer
name was "P4". I set up the "hosts" file as indicated, the oracle_hostname
variable, etc. as you will see below. I don't know if it's important to "uncomment"
the line on the "hosts" file for the "localhost" entry, I left it
as it was originally.
Services currently in "Started" Status:
OracleServiceorcl
Oracle orcl VSS Writer Service
OracleMTSRecoveryService
OracleOraDb11g_home1ClrAgent
OracleServiceorcl

When updating windows 7 i get error code 80072ee2. What is it and how do i fix it?
When updating windows 7 I get the following response:
Windows could not search for updates
An error occurred while checking for updates for your computer
error(s) found
code 80072ee2 windows encountered an unknown error
click here to get help with this error
When I do this - get help - the "fix" doesn't fix it and I eventually come back to this same window
The last time I was able to update windows 7 was in December 2011.
This same problem has happened before but the "fix" fixed it some time.
I get the same error when I open internet explorer.Hi,
I don't know the exact fix for your problem, but there is a thread on the Microsoft answers page that talks about this error message being related to a particular key.
And if you remove that key, you can fix Windows update. See below for the detailed information and scroll to the bottom to see where someone found the fix:

ORA 12224 - TNS: No Listener problem
Hi there,
I have SQL*Plus working on client A (Sun Solaris, 9i), connecting to server C (Windows NT, 7.3.4)
From client B (Sun Solaris, 8.0.6), trying to connect to server C using the same TNSNAMES.ORA, same user & instance, I get the error :
ORA-12224: TNS:no Listener
This error, to me, means that the Oracle listener on server C is not working. Which is not possible, because it does work from client A !
Where did I go wrong ?
Could this mean that client B does not have network access to server C (client B is in DMZ, but should have all required accesses) ?
Thanks in advance !
Best regards,
JeromeDo you have a firewall between the server and the clients and are allowing only 1521 through? If so, read on. Oracle on NT by default uses a non shared socket impl which essentially means that even though the original request comes in on 1521, the server bequeaths the connection to a thread listening on a different port (a high port) and sends a redirect request back to the client. When the client attempts to connect to this neew port, the firewall blocks it. The way around this is
1. Get a firewall that recognizes SQLNet like checkpoint and allow all SQLNet traffic through
2. Open up all high ports (I can hear the sysadmins wanting to kill you)
3. Get Oracle to use SHARED_SOCKETS (if applicable to your platform/version. Update the registry to set SHARED_SOCKETS = true. This is a feature in Winsock2.0 that allows a socket to be shared through IO completion ports. (There is a great whitepaper on Metalink/Technet. Search for SHARED_SOCKETS)
