  • TNS-12537 - Service_died, Service_register events being logged every minute

We have an 11.2.0.2 Grid Infrastructure listener that is configured with Oracle Restart. At this time, the listener is listening for connections to a 10.2.0.4 database. The following events are being logged every minute in the listener.log file. In the past, we have occasionally seen similar events logged in the 10.2.0.4 log file, but not every minute.
    21-MAR-2011 14:38:25 * (CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=my.host.here)(USER=oracle))(COMMAND=status)(ARGUMENTS=64)(SERVICE=LISTENER)(VERSION=186647040)) * status * 0

I am wondering if the LsnrAgt is part of the Oracle Restart configuration and is it really just informational when it is occurring every minute?
Thanks for any help or pointers to docuements that may explain these events that are being logged every minute.

This error seems to be directly tied to the auto restart configuration of the listener.
If you remove the listener from the config, the problem goes away.
    ie.
    srvctl remove listener -l listener
Also, if you want to leave the configuration, you can modify the check interval to alleviate the problems.
Setting it to 0, prevents the service_died errors. Of course this has the impact of listener not automatically restarting in the event it crashes.
crsctl modify resource ora.LISTENER.lsnr -attr CHECK_INTERVAL=0

I think , if you want you must create database on localhost with IP 127.0.0.1

for ORCL description in tnsname.ora (for expale HOST= ORCLHOST or IP )

  • Accessing apps from client GUI tool and TNS-12537

I have 11i on linux up and running but need to access the db via developer tool but I always get the error tht connection closed or connection lost.
I looked in the sqlnet.ora and it does has below entries
    tcp.validnode_checking = yes
    tcp.invited_nodes=(192.168.1.1)
Somewhere I read that I should add the ip of the host from where I am making clinet connection in the invited_nodes list.
Can someone please conform how to resolve this issue, The listener and db are up and I can logon locally on server vis sqlplus.

You need to register the hosts which you want to give SQL*Plus access as nodes.
From OAM, navigate to Site Map > Administration > System Configuration > Hosts > Register.
You may also comment "tcp.validnode_checking = yes" but this will allow any client to be able to connect to the Database.

Oracle is the victim; not the culprit.

    Hi,
While trying to connect to Oracle 8.1.6 , installed on local machine (OS Windows NT 4.0), using Oracle's thin JDBC drivers I get the following error :
TNS-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process

My database is running in dedicated mode on the same PC where I am executing this JAVA program.
Any pointer. Any Help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

According to Oracle Error Message, action for TNS-12500 is that Check the Listener.ORA is properly been set with the Oracle Environment if not make it and stop and start the Oracle and Listener too. If we faced and we did the above and it was working perfect.

Kindly let me know what should be done.

i have done that. i copied the tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora, listener.ora files from the c:>oracle-home\network\admin folder into oracle_devhome\network\admin folder. i have also set the environment variable oracle_sid=skoolman. skoolman is my sid as you can see on the tnsnames.ora. but the error massage still comes up as soon as i run forms from the forms builder environment.
but as i said i am able to connect to the database with my user name and pass word from within the forms builder environment to access my tables and create data blocks etc but as soon as i run the form through internet explorer the forms servlet boots up and the error massage ora-12560 tns protocol adapter error pops up.
thanks guys for your heip. please i need more solutions

  • (Urgent) TNS-12570 TNS:packet reader failure

    Hi
I have oracle 9.0.2 and developer 6i installed on the same machine for development purpose. Every thing was running fine but today when I tried to connect the form builder to database it raised following error:
    TNS-12570 TNS:packet reader failure
Cause: An error occurred during a data receive. This message is not normally visible to the user.
Action: For further details, turn on tracing and re-execute the operation. If the error persists, contact Oracle Support Services.
when I tried to connect from remote machine on LAN it raised following error:
    TNS-12537 TNS:connection closed
Cause: "End of file" condition has been reached; partner has disconnected. This is an informational message.
    Action: No action required.
Do you have any solution to this problem
    Regards
    Faisal

Recently found the same problem in my system. I got this problem after installing McAfee Internet Security suite which installs personal firewall.
I un-installed oracle and re installed it result is same.I am using oracle 8i (8.1.5)
Funny part is if I give SID in sql plus then only i get this error otherwise if I put scott/tiger in sqlplus without SID it connects to database.
This does not solves my purpose coz one of my application connects to database in which dburl contains SID.
    Thanks in advance
